Mischief At The Sea (Open!)

Part of the duo's journey back to Terminus led them here, to Whitewater. A rather pleasant place, to be sure. A much more pleasant sun, warm, relaxing water gently lapping the soft sand of the shore... Civilization that actually looks like something pleasant, at least to Alice. The relief on her face is obvious, having already went through a bleak though beautiful desert. With her bag on the beach sand and Dorothy there watching over it as the green-haired woman looks over the water, looking a fair bit ragged, but in all honesty, she's never felt more alive before in her entire life.
"Dorothy, you want to come over here with me?" She asks her Tsukaimon before looking back at the sea, her expression a genuine smile. "Ahh... It feels like ages since I've last seen this much water, even if it's only been... I don't know at most..." Alice states. She's exhausted, but somehow, she made it and that's all that matters. Without a single care in the world, she runs up and throws herself into the water, her exhausted body relaxing in the gentle waves. She doesn't even care if she's still dressed, it doesn't matter. For now, Alice is simply happy to be in the ocean.
"Noooo... Still too bright out." Dorothy watches over Alice's bag while the green-haired woman swims around a bit, the purple and gray Digimon looking down at her own shadow and the sand, occasionally picking at any seashells near her. Of course, she occasionally looks to Alice's bag, at least until the very much soaked, green haired woman returns to pick it up. "That's salt water. I don't think that's good for ya."
"True, but..." Alice looks to the city itself, and smiles. "I don't think it matters when we've managed to get somewhere like this." She grabs her bag, and nudges Dorothy to get her to follow, mostly just relieved that she's finally out of that dry, dusty desert. Anywhere is better than there, and indeed, this is much better. "And from what we've heard, this place is basically a perpetual vacation spot... It's incredible, really. People would kill to live somewhere like this. Actually, I think they have. No matter, let's go."
The city itself is busy as always, a riot of bright color and activity, a far cry from Rustport's homely but more quiet nature. When she's dry enough, Alice takes out her notebook from her bag, and begins to write, her attitude having become more positive since she's started her long, somewhat treacherous journey. Things may not be easy for her or Dorothy, but that's the fun of it to the green haired woman. An adventure isn't supposed to be easy.
Whitewater is incredible. If Terminus is anything like this, I'll likely be just as fascinated by it as I am this place. It's peculiar... I haven't been interacting with very many humans, yet I don't seem to mind. Digimon are very much like humans in terms of personality... Though they all seem to have individual quirks that make them a bit more difficult to deal with or peculiar, and it isn't always apparent from their physical appearances. Dorothy seems to have an aversion to bright light, for example. That, and others sometimes seem suspicious of her.
To be fair, there are occasions I end up with odds and ends in my bag that don't belong to me when I'm not looking. I've been telling her to stop stealing things from others but that's not easy given how she says it's all for a good cause. Maybe she just wants to impress me.
Maybe I just need to be more careful with her.
"Hah, what dorks..." Dorothy giggles as she rests atop Alice's head, looking down at everyone with a smug, superior grin. She glances around without Alice being aware of what plans she has hatching in her head. Perhaps taking someone's Digivice would be fun, she thinks to herself. Maybe Alice will finally be impressed by her incredible skills.
Of course, the green haired woman would likely just give them back, but it would be a good way to get the attention of other Tamers, right?

You know, Whitewater feels a lot better when you're actually dressed for it. Naoko found that out first hand after she actually decided to wear that shirt that looked like her favorite hoodie that Haru got her. Thoughts were more or less racing through her mind as the realization she was -still- walking through the city alone hit her.
...Wasn't this a really terrible idea? Maybe. It probably wasn't that bad if it was the only one you -had- to go with at present.
At the very least...The people around her seemed comparatively more normal in this part of the city than the other. Less weird stuff and more...Outlandish but still slightly normal things.
Naoko found herself staring at a smug, purple guinea pig. It's smug aura really felt insulting. "...Good grief, that guinea pig's so smug I can feel it from here..." She mumbled. It's very likely said guinea pig/Dorothy might notice this given how much the tamer sticks out.

And in response to this mumble, Dorothy hops off of Alice's head as the green haired woman checks her notebook some more, leaving the Tsukaimon alone to do her vile, though mostly just attention seeking, mischief. She looks over the stranger carefully, trying to spot something she can snag off of her without them noticing... As an experienced thief, it should be easy for her. "Whatcha up toooo?" Dorothy's smug grin becomes something much more innocent, a lie, but a rather convincing one. "Ya lonely or somethin'? Lost? Me 'n Alice can help you, ya know..." Actually, the two probably couldn't, given how the pair had just arrived here themselves. Flapping her ear-like wings, Dorothy begins floating eye-level to Naoko. "Oooh, right. Forgot to introduce myself. I'm Dorothy, and this is Alice! She's a dork who threw herself into the water!"
"Yes, I did that. It makes sense in context." The rather tall, emerald haired woman looks up from her notebook, stopping what she's doing. "It's odd for a human to be out here alone... What's your name? Still searching for your partner?" She sighs, closing that notebook of hers and stuffing it back into her bag. She looks like she's been traveling unprepared for quite some time, but despite that, it looks like she's more energetic because of it. "Sorry if I ask a lot of questions. I've been asking them almost nonstop since I came here." Alice herself seems friendly enough, if a bit distant at times. It's a bit odd. "But yes, some details about you would be nice."

Dorothy could probably note Naoko's watch. She must really like that watch, huh? Speaking of Naoko, she felt like that smug creature's innocence was feigned to some amount. "...I mean I'm not actually lost or anything but I'm really not sure why I'm even here or what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm Naoko. Uh...Toriya Naoko." ...Her english was okay to her at least.
Naoko glanced paaast Dorothy and towards that human who...did look like she threw herself into the water. Who got up and came over here and asked her what she was doing here. "Yeah. Don't know how I'm supposed to find my partner but they're supposed to be somewhere? And don't worry about questions, I think I ask way too many when I actually...y'know. Get to asking them."
Details, huh? "I'm not quite alone, for one. I've got a sister staying around these parts at the moment. Uh...Her name's Haru. Walks around with a knocker-cat. I thought they were...a thing when I saw them."
Naoko had no idea how she was coming off to this person or why their guinea pig was calling her a dork. But perhaps she could make at least one friend here? That wasn't a weird cat with mini cats following it?

"...Hmm. Sounds like someone I know." Alice seems a bit impressed, actually. "You're related to Haru, correct? It's good to see a partially familiar face out here." She holds out her hand, seeming a little less outwardly hostile with that slightly judgemental look she usually gives people. She probably expects a handshake.
Meanwhile, with Naoko distracted, Dorothy carefully attempts to look through the teen's backpack, hoping it has something of use or at least something pretty. She's silent, and very, very careful... It's surprising how good she is at this, given her round shape and stubby little legs.
The green haired woman isn't paying attention to what Dorothy's doing, a very bad idea indeed given her current behavior. "Ah. Never mind, I was right. I've seen Haru and her... Rather interesting Digimon partner. As for your partner... Keep looking, I assume it's different for everyone. Dorothy popped up in my apartment the moment I moved in, for instance." She then looks to the sneaky little creature, who has stopped doing anything suspicious for just long enough for her Tamer to not notice. "And don't mind Dorothy. I've been trying to teach her manners. As far as I know, she chose me, not the other way around."

Hold on, she knew Haru? Naoko's response to this was a blink of the eyes. A lot of blinks, in fact! "Yeah. She's a little older than me. Guess it's nice to have a family friend around here, huh?" Naoko spoke, taking Alice's hand and giving it a shake. The smug guinea pig found only a first aid kit and a wallet with some yen in it within her backpack. It seems Naoko was forced to come here with a light load, if anything.
Keep looking. But looking where? "...Moved in? Like...you like here?" Within fairness, Naoko seemed a bit too focused on the conversation to pay mind to Dorothy as well. "...I see. So...I'm waiting for someone to choose me then?"

Dorothy seems to change her attention to Naoko's pockets... The watch is on someone's arm, it's too easy to notice that it's gone... She floats a little closer to the side of the dark haired tomboy, trying to get a better view so she can find that Digivice. That'd be sure to impress Alice, or at least get her attention, the Tsukaimon thinks to herself.
"Moved in? Of course not. I was dumped here by a portal and need to head to Terminus, the central city, because that's apparently the only way out of the Digital World. I'm sure there are other ways, but..." The green haired woman shrugs, looking around briefly, a bit worried about things herself. "That's the one I know. And I'm not too sure about whether a Digimon picks you, either... It's a mystery, one that I've been trying to figure out myself to some extent..." She takes out her notebook again, and opens it up to reveal a handful of notes, sketches of Digimon and a few objects, such as a Digivice, likely Alice's own, and a few samples of Digimoji. "So many questions..."

Right pocket. The right pocket's where the gold-gripped Digivice lay. Dorothy could probably snag it easily but who knows? "Oh, you got dumped here too. Uh...That makes two of us." That sort of made Naoko feel a little better. Terminus was the way out? Best to keep that in mind. "...I'm gonna be honest when I say I barely understand a thing about this world at present, so...I hope I'm not asking for too much by needing help with that."
Even if Alice seemed as lost as she was. If only a little less. Naoko looked over that handful of notes and sketches. How easy to make sense of were they? She gave a nod after a couple of seconds before standing up straight. "I bet we've got at least like...five." Or a lot more than that.
Meanwhile, a inches tall, palm-wide terror zipped around. She had been zipping around the place for a while, trying to find something. "Come on, there's no candy stand here? Rubbish..." She grumbled as she...slammed smack dab into the side of Naoko's head. "GAH!" The fairy-like being yelped as she plummeted to the ground.
That's a Tinkermon.
Naoko, not really fazed by this, glanced downwards. "...That's a fairy." That it was. "...Of course I am, you dolt!" The fairy huffed as she stood up, folding her arms and staring up at the titan(s).

And Dorothy begins to slowly attempt to nab Naoko's Digivice... At least, until the Tinkermon shows up, and she decides that it's not worth it... Though Alice has finally seen what her Digimon's up to, and her expression has turned into a cold, downright angry stare at the Tsukaimon. "What are you doing?!" She states, the look Alice is giving her enough to cut through any lies and deception. Dorothy only just reached into the pocket by the time things happened, so the Digivice remains untouched.
"Eheh-heh-heh... Juuust pickin' out lint! Heh... Heheh..." Dorothy's nervous laughter and somewhat ashamed, embarrassed appearance say it all. The arrival of the mysterious Tinkermon disrupted Dorothy's kleptomaniac thoughts, and just in time. More pressing matters had arrived, and with them, Dorothy slowly flutters back over to Alice's side, looking slightly dejected, her usual smug expression a slight frown.
As for Alice, she returns to the subject at hand, her sketches and entries still out for Naoko to see. They're relatively easy to understand, and the Digivice one even includes a diagram explaining what buttons do what. "Hah, maybe that's your partner." Alice states with a bit of a chuckle before looking to Dorothy once again, seeming rather displeased at her own Digimon partner's actions. "Dorothy, please... I already told you to stop looking through other people's things." She then turns her attention back to the newcomer to the conversation, closing her book and looking down. "Are you all right there? Sorry about all that..." She seems to be apologizing to not only the Tinkermon, but also Naoko herself, given Dorothy's antics.

Well, Naoko had not noticed Dorothy whatsoever. Which was kind of embarrassing. "Picking ou--..." She realized what pocket Dorothy had been looking at. She grabbed her D-3 and pulled it out, about to go on a rather...pointed tirade before she noticed the screen was lighting up. Odd.
"Wha--..." Alice's words seemed to be entirely coincidental as Naoko looked between her and Dorothy, then the Tinkermon. "...I seriously doubt that." Naoko stated quite...eh. Curtly. Bluntly.
The Tinkermon huffs once more. "I think I bent a wing." Not really. "Also that human's sick. I feel weaker after that. Robbed! The strength of a queen is much higher than thi--...Wait, one of you said partner." Realization slowly crept upon the face of the fairy. "...I already don't like you." She stated up towards Naoko. Who seemed indifferent. "Okay? Uh...Also, Alice, it's fine. It's more Dorothy's...fault than anything, I guess." She seemed forgiving enough.
There's still the Tinkermon. She seemed...miffed.

"You should have seen her when she was pumped to take down something more than twice her size just because she was bored..." The green haired woman states this with a bit of a sigh, as if she's done this many times before. She puts away her notebook, her expression shifting into a glare briefly as she looks at the prankster, though it soon returns to normal, with Alice briefly making the slightest of smiles.
Dorothy then looks down at the Tinkermon, slowly floating down to see the rather irritated fairy for herself. "Hey!" She seems excited, her ear-wings flapping faster and her attitude a bit more cheery. "Who're you? Ya all right, or did ya knock some code loose?" Even though the Tsukaimon isn't exactly the best behaved, she knows when to stop... At least, for now. "Kinda dorky crash, by the way."
Alice shrugs, returning her attention to the new Digimon and Naoko herself as she slips her notebook back into her bag. "Well, I guess there's only one way to be sure."

"Wait she did that?" Naoko seemed confused. That GUINEA PIG wanted to try fighting something twice her size? Bewilderment crossed her face quickly. "Digimon are extremely weird." She decided. Yep. Definitely the truth. She then glanced towards the Tinkermon and Dorothy. Speaking of...
"Uhhh...I would like to think I am in fact in one piece. Also I think I bent a wing." But, once again. She did not. "...It wasn't dorky. It was regal. The only dorky thing was..." The Tinkermon pointed her spear at Naoko. "That beanpole over there."
"Rude."
"Deal with it." The Tinkermon huffed before turning towards the Tsukaimon. "Iiiii am Titania! The fairy queen!" While introductions were going on with the Tinke--Titania, Naoko give a quiet look at Alice, a tilt of the head. The kind that's like...
How?

"Yeah, she did... Dorothy's protective of me for some reason despite her faults... It's a good thing, I guess." Alice glances to her Digimon, the winged guinea pig creature giving both her and Naoko a look of pure pride, but also one of frustration, hinting that she still wants to fight something more powerful than herself.
Dorothy's expression doesn't change as she begins to speak, the Tsukaimon attempting to put her best foot forwards to greet Titania. "Yeah, you were great, and that beanpole is nothin' compared to Alice. She's so tall she gotta pull her head out of the clouds every time she looks down!" This incites a groan from the green haired woman, who grabs Dorothy right out of the air and holds her tightly.
"You're the one who calls everyone dorks, you strange little thing." Alice laughs a bit as she cradles Dorothy in her arms, her eyes glancing to Naoko and giving her an equally awkward expression. "I have no idea... Well, take out your Digivice, just to make sure... I really don't know."

"I mean, that makes sense. She's supposed to be your partner..." Naoko trailed off, quickly. Haru did tell her how important the bond between tamer and partner appeared to be in this world. However, Dorothy's really mixed look of pride and frustration in turn warranted a look of concern.
Titania meanwhile gave several nods towards Dorothy. Even in crashing...well, she was graceful. As a QUEEN should be! "Oh, yes. It does seem like we're surrounded by beanpoles." The fairy notes before glancing over to Naoko as Alice suggested to take out her digivice.
This was a moment of truth. Naoko would take out the digivice. The previously...well, inactive device had turned out to not be defective, as it was actually on. Titania frowned. "...Well." And then she just -grinned like a crazy person.- "I guess that makes you my vassal!"
"What?"
Naoko looked at Alice, only mORE CONFUSED.

OOC: Sorry for the change in formatting mid-thread.
Alice just shrugs, the green haired woman's expression a slight smirk. "I saw it active when Dorothy was trying to steal it. Speaking of that, I should really punish her for trying such a thing..." She looks to her own Digimon with a scowl, finding her actions reprehensible to say in the least, but decides to put that off for later. "But yes, I think Titania and you are going to have a wonderful friendship together. If not now, then surely over time... Wait." She stops herself for a moment. "Did she just... Call you a vassal?"
"I mean, ya kinda do rely on us for protection." Dorothy's words certainly aren't helping, the prideful little Digimon flying back to Alice's side and landing atop her head, looking over the scene.
"I don't think so. You're just as dependent on me in ways. How many times have I stopped you from getting into danger, hm?" Alice gently pets the Tsukaimon before returning to her usual attitude, crossing her arms as she looks at both the shorter human and the Tinkermon who fancies herself as a queen. "Either way, that's a very... Interesting way to look at things. Well, perhaps we should get to know each other a little bit more. Both of you. Heck, let's take a look around the city. More interesting than just standing around."
