Chie paid close attention to what Owen and Caligo had to offer. She was disappointed to not learn anything new about the digivice, but was grateful to learn where not to go. The dark area sounded like the place where Do would most likely lost his memories, and his former partner. Do however, was caught up on the fact that Logan was a paired Digimon. Looking to Owen, he couldn't help but be curious. "So, Owen, if I might inquire, how do you feel about your own kid running around with a human? I sleep rather easy at night knowing where mine is."
Chie blinked twice, confused as to what that implies as she turned to face Do, folding her arms expecting an answer. "Wait a minute, Do, do you have a kid? Better yet, someone fell in love with you?" Do wasn't willing to answer either question at this time, his eyes searched around the room for something to change the subject. Do then found a new subject of focus as he thought of the Offmon. "Wait, Logan, you live in the human world? Please tell me it's changed about Digimon tolerance since I last lived there."
Chie facepalmed at the pure stupidity of Do's request, he was just there yesterday and asked the most obvious question now. She obviously knew he was deflecting the questions of his past, but still, there had to be better ways of trying. She felt bad for the poor Offmon and hoped he didn't realize he was being used as a conversation scapegoat. "Really? That's how you deflect the question? Whatever."

Caligo mentioned that he still ventured outside of the city to do things. This piqued Owen's interest. "Ah yes? Have you been on any outings lately?" he asked, interested. He loved hearing tales from other adventurers, mainly so that he could follow in their footsteps and find new experiences.
Logan shuddered a little at the tale where Caligo seemed to be taken to the human world against his will. "Oh, gosh, what happened there?" he asked, sharing his father's interest of a good story. Then he realized that maybe Caligo might not want to share what went down. "Of course, only if you wanna talk about it more" he added.
Both of them remained silent as Caligo added his addendum to the advice not to go to the dark area. It seemed he had some very bad experiences there. "...sorry to hear about that, mate" Owen said, offering a gentle shoulder pat if Caligo allowed. Hearing this, it made the Gaomon kind of interested in helping him out if he needed anything done there, but only if he wanted to. Plus he thought any talk of the dark area would be best done when Logan wasn't around, since Logan couldn't evolve beyond Champion so far.
Then Do asked Owen how he felt about his son being with a human partner. The Gaomon shrugged. "I feel okay with that. I've hung out with Tadao, he seems like a really nice human. I trust him". That was all he had to say about that.
He was then interested to hear that Do had a kid too. "Oh? You have a child as well?" he asked with interest. Other than his Impmon and Coronamon friends he didn't know other digimon with children. But the Dorumon seemed evasive, so Owen didn't follow it up.
Logan pondered his reply. "Well... I generally have to pretend I'm a soft toy when I'm there" he said. "Although Tadao said he'd buy me a holosuit soon so that'd solve things, but, really, I can't say I've had much problems in the human world".
"Hmm. I guess that would be because DATS is now inactive" Owen remarked. "They've been largely replaced by AEGIS, but, they're usually fine with the status quo of partnered digimon coming and going as they please, as long as they don't cause trouble". He wondered if Caligo, Do or Chie knew about them.

Caligo gave a shrug at Owen's question on if he had been on any outings lately. "Eh, I've been on a few recently. I usually take any sort of job I can find and they can lead to some different places, though they are usually within the Southern Tropics. Like the last one I was hired for was to go out and help with some fishing in the Macro Ocean, the market was running lower then expected so the fleet was heading out and they needed all the help they could get. Aside from a run in with an irritated Whamon it was a relatively smooth job." Caligo explained. He then turned to Logan to answer his question.
"Well, there really isn't much I know about it, just some bits of info here and there. Supposedly it was victim to some sort of terrorist attack...lets just say it didn't end well, and considering the condition of the place when I was dropped there you could tell." He kept it brief and limited on detail, no need to tell the kid what other kind of stuff he heard happened in that attack.
Caligo then raised an eyebrow at hearing the Dorumon talking about a kid, however he left it be seeing how he didn't seem to wanna talk about it. He then turned back to Owen as heard the name AEGIS. "AEGIS? Yeah, think I heard of em, took over for that other organization, DAZT or somethings." He then gave a shrug. "Haven't heard anything too bad about em, so don't think I'd worry about them doing anything unless you went looking for trouble."

Do was glad that Owen recognized the look of someone desperate to hide a subject. He figured it was best that he followed where the conversation was headed and away from that little point. He couldn't help but laugh when the Offmon mentioned pretending being a soft plush toy. Chie batted an eye to that, easily catching onto what he meant but said nothing out of concern for how the poor Offmon feels on the matter."Doesn't seem like there's much need to pretend there." Was all the Dorumon could get out. Chie felt so embarrassed being seen with Do at this point. Chie looked to the Offmon as she did the obvious. "You'll have to excuse him. He's an idiot. I apologize for his behaviour."
Chie however was focused on the conversation about organizations, she had not anticipated such a ruling authority existing much less several agencies. However from the sounds of it, it appeared each was not working in conjunction with the other. Chie thought it sounded like American government agencies with the least communication. She didn't ask as she didn't want to concern herself with such matters, and from the sound of it wanted nothing to do with it. She didn't want to imagine how politics among digimon would go. Looking to Owen, she had a curious question about how similar they are.
"Owen, if I may ask, are you and Hikaru, married?"

Owen and Logan listened with interest to Caligo's tales of his travels. "Ah, you went fishing?" Owen asked with interest. Both he and Logan leaned back and gasped as the Impmon casually remarked on a run-in with an irritated Whamon.
"Whoa, what happened with that?" Logan asked, interested to hear more. Surely a "run in" with a digimon that size needed some pretty big luck to get out of in one piece, he thought.
The Offmon was further disturbed a little by talk of a terrorist attack in the human world. Such a thing there, related to digimon, it seemed like quite a terrible thing.
So it seemed that Caligo had heard of AEGIS. Owen smiled at this, glad to have a topic to change to other than the nastier things. "Yeah, they took over from DATS. They don't usually bother digimon, even solo digimon on Earth, just as long as we don't cause any mischief". Those that did were another matter though.
Logan didn't mind Do's words. "It's fine, heh, I've seen human world toys, I can see how humans that don't know digimon would think I'm one of them".
Chie then asked if Owen and Hikaru were married. As much as the Gaomon wanted that to be true, he shook his head. "Not yet. We're engaged to be, but, we're just waiting for a moment where we can both settle down" he explained. The real reason was that Hikaru had been missing for quite a while, he had disappeared for several months since Owen last saw him. While he knew he wasn't dead, he also knew that he and his partner Yuuki still had a long past to settle, and, since Hikaru had given his blessings for Owen to explore the digital world, Owen had given his blessings for Hikaru to tie up loose ends with his past. He just hoped that those knots weren't too hard to handle.

Caligo watched the girl and Dorumon for a moment. It was curious to hear the Dorumon bring up the fact he had a child, only to then change the subject when the girl began to question him about it. Not good in his opinion, mainly because that meant either the Dorumon didn't trust her or may not even want anything to do with her. Honestly, it probably didn't help that she seemed to insult the guy every chance she got. A bad combo right there, who knows what kinda trouble they'll be in if they can't work something out. He mused to himself before turning back to the father and son.
"Yeah, I went fishin, it was actually where I also met Coela. As for the Whamon, some poor bastard managed to hook her blow hole, she wasn't too happy about it. Things could have gotten bad if he didn't step in though." Caligo pointed towards the doors kitchen. "Believe it or not, Coela there was the Whamon's father and as soon as he started yelling she broke down into tears, saying 'I'm sorry papa' and 'don't yell anymore' and other such things. Eventually she calmed down and allowed us to pull it out." He let out a snicker before continuing. "It isn't too often you watch a Coelamon patting the side of a Whamon's head as it braces itself for what it thinks will be the worst pain it's ever felt." Leaning back in his chair he gave a shrug. "But yeah, met Coela that day and the crew I was in helped yank a hook out of a Whamon."
After his story he then listened to what Owen had to say about AEGIS. "Yeah, so basically don't mess with them and they'll leave you alone."

When Owen said they'd get married when he and his spouse settle down, Chie had to raise an eyebrow as she was worried a bit for the Offmon offspring. She shrugged those thoughts off as different world, different cultures. Also noteworthy that since Logan had a tamer, that must've freed up Owen and his fiance's time to, well do whatever they do. "I'd think having a kid is enough of a reason to settle down... Unless you got more than him on the way? But who knows, he does have a tamer." Chie honestly was at a loss for words on the subject, she didn't want to say Owen was a bad parent but he seemed more the weekend dad type.
While the Impmon rambled about some organizations, Chie hoped Do would understand but he didn't show any signs of understanding. She caught the just of the concept of going on a fishing trip but she didn't understand much before the part about, or some during the fishing trip. However Do was bothered by something during the whole time. He looked at Chie with a concerned gaze after he finished the other plate. He never had this problem before, but perhaps humans have changed. Do leaned over to Hikaru as he whispered into the Offmon's ear "Yo, do you have a hard time getting your human to eat as well? Never had a problem like that with my first."

Owen and Logan listened to Caligo's story with gripped interest. "Aww, that's so good that it all worked out in the end" Logan said, glad for a happy ending. "Although how can a fishhook be such a pain for a Whamon?" he wondered.
"Well, their blowhole is pretty sensitive" Owen explained. "I mean you wouldn't want a hook in your nose would you, kiddo?"
"Ah! I see" Logan said, shuddering at the thought. Owen shifted a little uncomfortably at Chie's remarks about having a kid being reason enough to settle down. He was beginning to suspect that he might be being judged here, but without anything outright being said he didn't remark on it.
"Well, most exciting thing that happened to me lately was exploring the Bayou" Owen said, supposing he should tell Caligo a story in return, as well as change the subject from that line of questioning. "Found a digimental in there, as well as met a couple of humans and their partners. Got a bit dicey at the end there, a Sagomon didn't like the fact that we took some of his 'treasure', but, a digimental belongs to whoever can pick them up right?"
Logan meanwhile glanced up at Do as he asked the question. "Hm? Ah, no, I don't usually have that problem with Tadao, he usually eats what's in front of him" the Offmon said, tilting his head with confusion. "Is something the matter with your partner?" he asked, keeping his voice quiet in case there was.

Caligo's nose crinkled and eyebrows furrowed at the mention of the swamp. "Bleh, been through there before on a Trailmon, the place smells like ass even from inside. Digimental sounds like a lucky find, and I imagine it was lucky for the human and their partners that they ran into you, imagine the place would be a nightmare to maneuver through." Caligo's eyebrows then rose at hearing about the Sagomon, leaning forward in interest. "A Sagomon? A pissed off one at that? Imagine that was a pain in the ass. Never personally fought one but from what I hear they can be a real monster."
One of his ears then twitched, hearing Do asking Logan about if it is normal for a human to eat so little. Glancing over he had to admit it was odd to see the girl eat so little, but then again humans did vary a lot in needs so perhaps she didn't need much food. What did catch his attention though was the Dorumon's 'my first' comment. Hm, clearly he knows more, as well as is hiding more, then the girl realizes.

Chie ignored Do's whispers as she pretended not to hear them. She was starting to get furiously annoyed with Do's behaviour. She couldn't stand his passive aggressiveness at this point and tried to keep focused on the older ones present. She could tell they were talking about some form of exploits and adventures, but nothing seemed to peek her interest. She was unsure of what the term digimental was referring to, but she assumed it was an object of greater value. Seemed that the two were comparing battles, but Chie had no frame of reference to the digimon in question. She could barely follow up as she couldn't tell what was what at this point.
Do on the meanwhile, was unsure how to answer Logan. "Yeah, I had the same with my first." Do whispered back "I honestly have no clue, never had someone like her for a partner. Uptight, stingy, and frankly at times a little bitchy.", not really sure if what he said was true, or too blunt.
Chie had enough at this point as she grabbed her purse and stood up, walking past the table and towards the door. Do bounced a glare back to Chie, afraid of what she might have heard. "Where you going?" Chie didn't even look back to Do as she kept walking, disappointed in him. "Just outside, need to smoke." Before walking outside the restaurant before fishing through her purse for a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.
"Damn squirrel."

Owen gave a sigh of agreement with that, shaking his head. "Ugh, don't have to tell me that, mate, ended up in the bog... twice... took days to wash the stench out of my fur".
Logan was slightly horrified at this. "What, dad? You... you sank in the bog?"
"Er... yeah, but of course I came prepared, had diving gear all ready" Owen assured his son. Yes it was unpleasant embarrassing and kind of scary having to walk out of a quicksand-like-bog from the bottom, but, with the diving gear's ability to allow its user to breathe in such conditions, it had been nothing more than a nuisance at the time, well, at least until Owen was faced with the bills of the fur shampoo he had to use in the next week to get the swamp smell out of him. And, in the end, he had gained a precious Digimental, which made it all worth it in the end.
Fortunately the Sagomon encounter involved much less boggy terrain, well, more watery.
"Yeah, he was a nasty fight, but I had the advantage of flight in that case" Owen said. "Yeah if one of his water jets hit my jetpack it would've been a real challenge, but, he missed, so I managed to get him away from the air". He left out the part in which he had rescued his companion Shoutmon from drowning, that was something he thought would be better told from his perspective. He didn't want to shower himself with heroism here.
Then, seemingly all of a sudden, Chie seemed to be rather pissed off with Do. Owen was a little confused and Logan was shocked that a human and digimon partnership seemed to explode so suddenly.
"That's... really horrible to talk about your partner like that!" Logan told Do, the Offmon shaking his head with disbelief. "She's your partner! I mean..." Logan was about to talk about the fact that they had no choice in the matter, but, he supposed that saying that out loud would make things worse. Thankfully his dad was here, so Logan looked up at the Gaomon to hopefully help out with this situation.
"Well... uh... okay, that was kinda sudden I have to say" Owen began. "But..." given that Chie was outside, he supposed he could speak to Do frankly without fear of offending the human. "Do, is there something... you have a problem with with Chie? Like, something you absolutely can't stand?"
He understood this was a risky question to ask, but, he supposed with this current outburst, it would be best to get grievances out in the open so they could be dealt with.

Caligo couldn't help but pinch the bridge of his nose and let out a sigh of frustration at the Dorumon's stupidity as the human girl burst out of the restaurant. Friggin dumb ass, did he really expect her to not react to those insults? Seeing how Logan and Owen were already trying to discuss what happened just now with Do, Caligo stood up. "Right, well I'm gonna step out and have a smoke myself." As he walked around the table he gave Owen's shoulder a pat, lowering his voice so that only the blue dog would hear. "I'll talk to the girl."
With that he went out the door and looked over at the human. "Well, that could have gone a lot better." As he said that he began to digivolve, the small impmon quickly turning into a much taller, and much more intimidating, devimon. Walking over to the side of the door, he leaned up against the wall of the restaurant. Reaching into a pouch on his belt he pulled out a cigar. He then reached out towards the girl, the cigar pinched between his index and middle finger and pointed towards her. "Mind giving me a light? Forgot mine back at my place." He asked, his voice much deeper now.
