"Ya know, I'm glad I made the choice to live here." The small impmon announced to no one in particular, a small smile on his face. While originally having come to Whitewater City on a whim and having no intention to stay there any longer then a week, Caligo quickly found himself hesitant to leave the city, just something about it felt....nice. It was inviting, welcoming, something he hadn't felt when he had first visited Terminus city. Many of the digimon here had been much friendlier as well, a far more jolly and party crazed lot. Sure, it was annoying at times, but it was something he was more then capable of tolerating. The weather was also much nicer, not too hot, not too cold, and the weather didn't change too much aside from an occasional storm.
Caligo then came to a stop in front of a small restaurant, a board above the door identifying it as "Coela's shack". His smile widening as he opened the door and was bombarded with the various smells of sea food. Owned and run by, oddly, a Coelamon, Caligo had discovered the place a few days into his visit here and it had Certainly impressed him, a friendly, homely interior with various picture frames along the walls as well as various items and tools for sailing and fishing all around as well. In addition, not only was the food reasonably priced but it was good, damn good. He had been surprised to see it wasn't particularly busy the first time he came, but with subsequent he had come to figure that due to the restaurant's size and limited marketing, assuming it even had any, that few tourist or residents knew about it when some many other larger, extravagant restaurants were around.
"AH! Ahoy there Caligo! How can I help ye?" A gruff voice called over to him, making the small imp turn to see a Coelamon making his way over to him.
Caligo gave the ancient fish a smile and returned the greeting. "Afternoon Coela, it's one of my free days and since I didn't feel like cookin I chose to make my way over here, ya know how much I like your food."
The fish gave a laugh and bowed his head in thanks. "Ah, I'm flattered ye enjoy this old fish's cookin so much ye little imp. Come, I'll take ye to yer seat"
Caligo followed the Coelamon to the small bar towards the back, hopping up onto the stool he was brought to. As he turned to the fish, preparing to tell him his order before the fish raised a...hand? Fin? "No need ta tell me yer order lad, I got it completely memorized now. I'll have it out to ye in a jiffy."
Caligo gave the fish a smile and nodded "thanks Coela." Caligo then turned back to the bar and let out a sigh, a relaxing day indeed.

Also present in Whitewater that day were two other mammalian digimon. One was a relatively tall blue and white canine digimon with yellow eyes and a red bandana, the other a smaller purple and white canine with blue eyes who wore a legionaire's cap and goggles. This was Owen the Gaomon and Logan the Offmon.
The two digimon were related - Owen being Logan's father. How they had come to be related was a bit complicated, but, why they were here? Well, to spend some time together of course! It was a little bit of a complicated thing when Owen had no human partner while Logan did. But that was fine, he knew Logan's partner Tadao well enough to let him trust him to look after the little digimon. Especially when Logan was now capable of Champion level digivolution. And after their last adventure, Tadao seemed rather keen on a small break anyway.
And so, here they were. Tadao was resting in a nearby hotel while his Offmon partner was here, riding Owen's back cheerfully. The two had spent some quality time together for a few hours, but then they seemed to be getting a bit hungry.
"Got any place you wanna go for lunch, Logan?" Owen asked his son eventually. Logan responded by sniffing the air, before the little canine's senses picked up the wonderful smell of seafood nearby, turning his head and pointing to a place marked as "Coela's Shack".
"That place smells soo good, dad!" Logan exclaimed. Owen smiled, glad his son was maturing a little so that he called him that instead of 'daddy'. To be expected of a Champion level of course! So, Owen made his way to the restaurant, then let Logan off his shoulders before walking inside.
The two were probably not very well dressed for human standards, what with Owen just wearing a light material blue tropical shirt and bandana while Logan had a similar red shirt, their standard gear of boxing gloves and a coat left behind for the moment. But their thick fur provided enough modesty for digimon standards. They made their way into the restaurant and sat down at a table for two, Logan's little legs failing to reach the ground, but he didn't mind. Owen glanced around, seeing an Impmon nearby. While he knew one or two other Impmon, this one didn't seem to be one he recognized. But that didn't draw his ire. This Gaomon was quick to trust other digimon no matter what their type as long as they didn't wrong him first.
"So, champ, anything catching your eye?" Owen asked Logan, who grinned toothily at that nickname. But the Offmon seemed to have trouble deciding.
"Ah, gosh, dad, there's so much here that looks good, I'm not sure..." Logan answered.
"That's alright, we can ask the waiter" Owen said. He then turned to Coela, waving for his attention. "Ah, hello? Sorry to be a bother, but, do you have any recommendations on the menu?" he asked, wondering what the popular meals here was.

As he waited for his food to be prepared Caligo heard the door to the restaurant open and close. Curious, he glanced over his shoulder to see who the new arrivals were. Spotting them he identified the pair as a Gaomon and Offmon, though seeing those digimon in tropical shirts was a bit bizarre. He also couldn't help but raise an eyebrow when he heard the Offmon call the Gaomon "dad". I'm sure that is an interesting story. He thought in amusement. A few moments later he heard someone approaching the counter, causing him to turn forward to see Coelamon approaching with a plate.
"Ay lad, here's yer food, seared digituna an' fries." Coelamon announced as he lowered the plate onto the counter.
"Oh man, thanks Coela." Caligo said, a large smile on his face. He then leaned forward and inhaled deeply through his nose, before exhaling with a sigh. "Still smells as amazing as ever, which no doubt means it tastes even better. You should really tell me how you make this food so good." He said as he cut into the tuna and saw a sight that made him smile even more, brown on the outside, but completely red on the inside.
Coelamon let out a boisterous laugh before answering. "Ah lad, even I need to keep me secrets, perhaps when I'm on me deathbed. But that ain't gonna be for a long time!" Coelamon then turned to the Gaomon and Offmon, rubbing his chin in thought as he approached them. "Hmmm, well, I'd suggest the Salmon or Bass, What do ye think Calgio?"
Caligo turned back around to look at them, the fork in his mouth. Looking between the three he gave a shrug before pulling the fork from his mouth and responding. "Eh, yeah, sounds like a good choice if they ain't use to seafood."

"All I asked, was to find a place to eat." Chie's patience with Do was at her limit as it seemed as though they had been walking endlessly. Chie believed a simple request would not be difficult to follow, since Do bragged about his expert tracking skills on more than one occasion, however he wasn't in the best of spirits either. Raising his head from the sandy ground, he looked at Chie and shrugged, sand dripping from his nose. "Not like I'm google, I can't recommend you a restaurant. I can only track things, determine exits, also, I'm not good with sand."
Chie sighed as she pulled out her digivice, and was about to open a digiport back to the human world. After seeing so much of the digital world, on an empty stomach, she wanted to call it a day. However the excited cry of Do stopped her. "Woo hoo! found it! Whitewater city!" Looking over to see the city just in the distance, Chie couldn't help but be confused on Do's statement. "I thought you said we were going to Terminus city?"
Stopping in his excitement suddenly, Do bowed his head in shame. "I took us to the other side of the Digital world..." Walking towards the city, Chie figured she might as well eat before she left. Eventually the two found themselves walking through the streets of the beach side city. Getting an occasional glance from the surrounding Digimon. Chie, being an outsider to the very world, couldn't tell who was getting the odd glances. "Do, which one of us is the odd one here? A human girl, or the DORUmon walking around with an older model digivice hanging from his neck?"
Do shrugged, not entirely certain himself. After all, when did he ever care about what was odd and what wasn't. "Well, frankly, could very well be both of us. In the meantime, I recall word of a nice place around here."
Finally leading her to an actual place, Do and Chie entered a restaurant called "Coela's shack.". The two found an empty table for two next to two blue, canine like Digimon. Picking up menus, Chie figured Do would know something. "Any recommendations?"
Einstein defines insanity as doing the same thing and having different results, so when Do shrugged again, she sighed. Figuring it best to just wait to see what the Waiter recommends.

Owen overheard the conversation at the other table. Tuna? That sounded tasty. "How d'ya like Tuna, Logan?" he asked his son.
"Eh... little bit salty" Logan answered. "I prefer something a little less strong than that".
"Heh, alright then" Owen grinned as he awaited the waiter's attention. The Coelamon approached, recommending the Salmon or Bass. Those sounded good to Owen, given that he rather liked salmon. While his favorite food overall was pork, well, this was a seafood restaurant so it'd be a bit odd to ask for that in here.
"Okay then, I'll have some Bass" Logan said, making up his mind.
"And I'll take some salmon, thanks" he said, once the Coelamon was ready to take their orders. He noted the Impmon seemed to be a regular customer here, and seemed fairly amicable. If the recommendations of Coelamon were alright, Owen thought it would be the nice thing to do to thank him for backing them up. So, his name was Calgio. Another digimon that used a name. That was interesting too.
Given that Calgio was currently enjoying his meal, Owen didn't see a reason to bother him again for the moment. Instead his attention was drawn toward two more individuals that entered the restaurant. And Logan was instantly excited when he saw the Dorumon enter.
"Dad?!" he asked, thinking that this might just be Hikaru, his other parent. But, alas, it was not. This one didn't have the characteristic kilt of Hikaru, so, it seemed like he had made a mistake. "Ah, sorry, I thought you were someone else" he apologized to the Dorumon.
Owen had looked up at once when he had heard that, but yeah, this wasn't his fiance. Ah well, hopefully that wouldn't make things too awkward. For the moment, the two supposed they'd wait for their meals.
"So, Logan, I heard you had an adventure in one of the new places eh?" Owen asked Logan. "That new volcanic island chain to the west. How did that go?"
"Oh, gosh, dad, it was brilliant!" Logan said. "But... kind of strange you know? The digimon there said they hadn't seen humans for 300 years, and neither Tadao or I were able to make anything of that".
"Hmm, that's curious" Owen agreed. Logan then proceeded to tell him more, although speaking at a lower volume so as to not disturb the others in the restaurant about the story of his first evolution to Champion.

"Ay, Salmon an' Bass, I'll get it out to ye in a bit. But before I go, here." He then handed the pair two bottles of soda. "It's the only drink I've got on hand right now sadly, now, I'll be back in a bit." He then turned and went into the kitchen.
As Caligo continued he glanced back as he heard the door open once more, seeing a black haired human girl with a dorumon. Huh, don't see one of those too often. The impmon thought to himself. He then raised an eyebrow when the small offmon suddenly say dad as he saw the dorumon. Okay...so he has a dad that is a dorumon, but he also has a dad that is a gaomon. Odd, but I'm not one to judge. He thought, letting out a quiet chuckle as the child apologized for the mistake. He continued to watch the girl and dorumon until they took a seat near the other two, at which point he turned back around to his food, continuing to eat. Eat first, then watch and perhaps converse.
Hearing the doors at the entrance open, Coela came back out into the dining area, noticing a human girl and dorumon at a table. "Ah! Afternoon to ye! So, what can i get ye today? Bass? Tuna? Salmon? Cod? Whatever seafood ye want, I probably got" He asked as he made his way over to the pair.

Having a young Offmon call him dad really put Do off, as he wasn't sure what to say. Chie on the other hand looked to him, then looked to the Gaomon, and once more. Confused, she addressed what she thought was odd about the situation. "Do, I have to ask, is this really your kid? That one over there doesn't seem like he'd settle for you." Do shrugged and before he could defend himself, the Offmon apologized before returning to his father. Do finally figured out the words to say, albeit not thinking them through. "I'm a bachelor for life!"
Chie raised an eyebrow, wondering if there was a brain in her digimon partner at all. Looking around, she took her time to analyze the serenity of the restaurant, admiring every detail, the fishing tools and classic fisherman theme reinforced what seemed to be a seafood based menu. Being a culinary enthusiast, she appreciates a fitting aesthetic to a restaurant to suit their menu. A few minutes later, after the waiter had served the table nearby, he arrived and his words snapped her out of her daze.
"Oh, I'll have the salmon." Do however, was not quick to respond, about half a minute of silence later, she snapped her fingers in front of his eyes. She swore she could smell smoke coming out of his ears, figuring the choices overloaded his brain albeit looking like it's connected to a computer drive. She closed her eyes for a brief moment as a sigh quietly passed her slightly parted lips. "He's having what I'm having. So sorry about his behaviour."
As the decision was made for him, Do snapped out of his daze. "Oh, thanks, I couldn't decide, they were all so good!" Chie pulled out her Digivice, fiddling with the buttons trying to search for something. "Uhh, Chie, what are ya doing?" Not even looking at him, she answered briefly "Double checking if I am really stuck with you as a Digimon partner."
Do's shrugged as he himself didn't exactly love her either. He couldn't be bothered to try and be an oracle or a philosopher. "Well, look, if not for you I'd still be a Dodomon in the Server Woods, but on the other hand, last I checked I had a completely different person for a partner."

“Thanks” Owen and Logan said as their sodas were deposited. They then happily awaited their meals. Since nobody else was talking to them, they really didn’t have much to say at the moment, and it would have been rude to randomly talk to others at other tables if they didn’t seem interested in conversation.
“What about you, dad?” Logan asked, eager to hear what Owen was doing. “Been up to much?”
“Ah, um... not that much, no” Owen said, remembering something about being mistaken for a princess in some desert town in the Western Flatlands but didn’t really want to share that with Logan in a public setting. “Just, you know, getting by, stuff like that”.
“Have you seen Hikaru much?” Logan asked further. Owen was a little unhappy about that mention.
“No, I haven’t” he admitted. He wished that the meals would hurry up. Thankfully Logan understood that it was probably not a good subject to talk about, then continued waiting.

Coelamon gave a nod as the girl gave their order. "Aye, two orders of Salmon for ye, and before I forget." He walked over behind the counter, grabbed two bottles, and walked back over to the two. "here's the soda, as I told the others it's unfortunately the only drinks I have available for ye at the moment. Anyway, I'll be off to make yer food." With that Coelamon turned towards the kitchen's doors and went on in.
Swallowing his last bite of tuna, Caligo let out a sigh, before frowning as he looked down at the empty plate. "As they say,all good things come to a end." He grumbled to himself, before swiveling around with his drink in hand, sipping on it as he proceeded to watch the others. As he listened to the conversation between the offmon and gaomon he couldn't help but feel like the parent was trying to avoid some of the kid's questions, however, he wasn't going to say anything. As for the human girl, she came off as kind of a...well, he wouldn't finish that thought. Then again, her partner, if he even was that considering some of the stuff they'd said, seemed like the kinda digimon someone would lose their patience with quite fast.
Not long after Coelamon came bursting through the door, carrying several plates as he walked out into the room, coming over to Owen and Logan's table he set two plates down "Bass fer the wee lad, and Salmon fer ye." He declared. "Hope ye enjoy the food." He then went over to Chie and Do's table and placed their plates down. "Two orders of Salmon fer ye." He then backed up, bowed, and turned back towards the kitchen. Should any of ye need help, give me a yell."
Giving a nod to Coela, Caligo leaned forward and rested his arms on his legs, focusing his attention on Owen. "So, gotta ask, how does a Gaomon and a Dorumon lead to a Offmon? Better yet, seeing as how you're both referred to as dad from what I overheard, how do two, at least I'm assuming, male digimon have a kid?" Caligo questioned.

As Coelamon was bringing out the orders, Chie felt relieved that it seemed like the awkwardness had passed, but unfortunately, not so. She was barely taking a sip of her soda when she heard the impmon approach the neighboring Gaomon and inquire about how two digimon, two males no less, created a child. Chie could feel her stomach start to turn a bit as she barely skimmed her food. Reproduction wasn't exactly the ideal subject to talk about over a meal. Do on the other hand, was oblivious to the whole ordeal as he dug right into his food immediately.
Chie assumed Do, while stuffing his face with food, lost his sense of hearing when it comes to words. She leaned to the side a bit to face the impmon. hoping to clear the air for her partner. "Excuse me sir, but there has been a bit of a misunderstanding here, the child's father might be a DORUmon, but Do here is a completely different DORUmon then the DORUmon in question."
In a flash, when Chie briefly looked back over to Do, she saw his plate was already half empty. Her jaw dropped for a second, before regaining her composure. She knew Do had an appetite, but she started to think it was crazy at this point. However what annoyed her was her silverware was untouched as she looked at the food on his chin. "It hasn't even been a full minute!"
Do shrugged as he didn't really mind his lack of manors, but he could tell Chie was not gonna be as lenient. She sighed as she got up to go to his side of the table and grabbed his napkin and wiped off the chunks of fish off his mouth. Do tried to turn away but Chie wouldn't let him get off that easily. "Oh come on, it's not that bad."
Chie sighed as she looked to the Gaomon, disappointed in her Digimon. "So sorry about this, wasn't expecting him to forget manners. You know how kids get." In saying that, Chie hoped the parent would understand the pains she feels right now. All she wanted was food, not an incredibly confusing parent situation.

Owen and Logan were delighted when the food arrived. Given how hungry they were, and given that since they were both beast digimon, well, they finished it up pretty quickly. Gourmands they were not, they simply liked to slam it down fast.
So by the time the Impmon asked them the question they were washing their meals down with the soda. They both glanced at him, but didn't seem to mind being spoken to.
"Heya" Owen said. "That's a valid question, heh. So, uh, I don't know the exact process so to say, but, there's a Dorumon out there that I really like, well, so much that we're pretty much fiance's. And, once we decided we'd like to be together, somehow a part of our data seemed to break off, bond, and it all went into this little bloke's digiegg".
"Yeah, and I'm glad it did" Logan said, smiling. "I... guess I have a bit of Dorumon data and a bit of Gaomon data...". As though to emphasize this, he suddenly let off a rather startling burp, managing to cover his mouth at the last moment. "Oh... excuse me" he blushed, giving a little grin.
"That's the Gaomon part" Owen joked, before covering his mouth and gave an almost identical burp. Both of them snickered. Owen turned back to the Impmon. "And, well, I guess it doesn't really matter what gender the parent digimon are, seems like any two digimon that like each other can do it".
Supposing he wouldn't mind telling the Impmon more, he gave a wave to invite him to their table if he wanted. "Sorry, I didn't catch your name" he said. "I'm Owen by the way, and this is Logan".
"Hiya" Logan waved. Owen's attention was then shifted as he was apologized to by the human girl.
"Ah, don't worry about it, I know how us beast types can get" he chuckled. "And don't worry, we know that that's not the Dorumon we're talking about here".

Caligo glanced over at the human girl upon hearing her trying to clarify that her partner wasn't the father. "Who says I was referring to your partner when I asked about the kid's other father? Believe it or not I can hear, and I was paying enough attention to know that the kid thought he was his dad when he actually wasn't, as well as your partner claiming he's a 'bachelor for life'." He explained, before pointing at Do. "Also, suggest you look under his chin, think you missed a bit there."
He then turned his focus back to Owen and Logan, nodding his head occasionally to show he was listening, rolling his eyes a bit when Logan and Owen belched. "Hm, I see, was a bit curious considering you usually..." He trailed off as he glanced at Logan before shaking his head. "Ah, probably not exactly a topic to be talking about in front of a kid" he then glanced back at Do. "Or perhaps I should say kids." He then watched the Gaomon wave him over, giving him their names as he did so. After mulling it over for a few moments he nodded, jumping down from the stool he was in and walking over to the table to take a seat. "Name is Caligo, been living here for a few months or so now, as you could probably tell from my conversations with Coela we know each other pretty well." He then turned, looking at the human girl. "And what might your names be? Assuming you're inclined to share it."

Chie listened as she wiped the fish chunks off the DORUmon, she felt her appetite go from full to empty as she heard on how Digimon reproduce. She imagined splitting code was a euphemism for the digimon equivalent for sexual activities. After she was finished wiping Do's chin, she focused back to Caeligo, formally introducing himself. Do was about to speak but she slid her plate to Do, his instincts took over rather quickly took to it. If she learned anything, it's don't let him speak when someone who could wipe him out is nearby. Also causing an incident would be embarrassing beyond belief in her eyes. Looking back to Caligo, she formally introduced them both.
"I'm Chie, and this purple bottomless pit here is Do."
Chie went back to her seat as she kept her focus on the table next over. After all she wanted a distraction from the previous topic. She wondered about the other three digimon. Although what was really on her mind was what these digimon knew about humans.
"If you guys don't mind, could you answer a few questions I have? I'm fairly new to the digital world and my 'partner' isn't exactly smart. Although he seems to slowly grow in mind as he 'digivolves'."
Do took a second to look back up to Chie, somehow getting fish on the interface on his forehead to grumble before going back to the fish. Chie reached into her purse and pulled out her white bodied and black gripped D3 model Digivice and placed it on the table. "I got three questions if you would, you two older gents seem like you've been around the digital block. First, I haven't seen much of humans since I left the server woods. Are humans a rare occurrence? Second, what do you know about this device that forced me into this world, the 'digivice'. Lastly, is there any place I should dare not go in the digital world?"
Chie hoped to figure out at least some bearings of what to look out for in this world and the dangers that come with it. Traveling with Do is essentially dangerous as he rarely speaks of incoming danger when he recognizes it.

Owen and Logan maintained a polite silence as Caligo addressed the human and the Dorumon. When that was over the Impmon seemed to think something that shouldn't be mentioned in front of a kid. Logan was a little confused, tilting his head.
"What does he mean by that, dad?" he asked Owen.
"Ah, I think he means... reconfiguration?" Owen said, scratching his head, equally confused. Neither of them were familiar in the way humans become parents so the subject wasn't something they would be familiar with. Indeed if digimon were even capable of that, the two of them would likely be wearing pants or similar. Either way, they supposed that the conversation was probably getting a bit uncomfortable, judging from the look on the human's face.
Either way the Impmon seemed friendly enough and joined them. Owen was always happy to meet new digimon, particularly fellow independent ones (presuming that Caligo didn't have a human partner). "That sounds great, Whitewater always seems to be a great spot to settle down" he smiled. "That is, if settling down is your thing. I'm kind of an adventurer myself, can't really stand being in the same spot longer than a week".
"Yeah, and I normally go where my human partner goes. I live in the human world mostly" Logan added. "But Tadao let me spend time with dad today, so here I am I suppose!"
The human then introduced herself as Chie and the Dorumon was simply 'Do'. And in fact she mentioned that she was rather new to the whole digital world thing and asked questions. Owen didn't mind, he supposed he had made themselves kind of the center of attention so he'd try to answer.
"Well, I've seen a few dozen humans around big cities like Whitewater and Terminus" Owen answered the first question. "You're not all that rare here, but, still not much of you around. But you do tend to stand out" he chuckled. Most rookie digimon were between 3 and 5 feet tall, and humans usually ranged between 5 and 7 feet.
The question about the digivice was more Logan's field. "That's the conduit between you and your partner" the Offmon explained. "Tadao had one when he met me, and it reacted between us, and... eventually it helped me evolve to rookie. When Do's ready to evolve further, you can use it again to evolve him to Champion and beyond".
As for the final question, that was Owen's expertise again. "Well, across the sea is a place called the Dark Area, best never go there if you can help it" he began. Logan shivered a bit at the mention. "Other than that, there's safe places and dangerous ones all over the digital world. The South is fairly safe if you don't go too far out to sea... the East is fine, but don't go too deep into the forest, and try not to go into the Bayou alone..." he winced a bit himself from his latest adventure there.
"As for the West, best stick to Rustport if you can. North, same, stick to Snowflake Village. And as for the Core, that's all safe too, but, watch out for a place called Old Terminus. There's all kinds of nasty buggers down there".

Caligo gave a shrug to Owen's thoughts. "Well, I wouldn't say that I've settled down so much as I've made it my permanent residence. I'll take some odd jobs here and there in the city, sometimes they require me going to other places outside the city. I will say I did get around a lot though before coming to whitewater." Caligo explained, then looking to Logan as he explained where he usually is. "Human world I've rarely gone, a few times at most, most notably when I got pulled into the real world and dropped into a place I'd later learn was an abandoned school where some pretty bad crap went down." He told the Offmon.
He then turned his attention to the human girl, listening to her questions. Seeing how Owen went to answer first he waited, listening to his own answers, giving an occasional nod of agreement. Once he was done Caligo gave his own answers. "Expanding on what Owen said, I'd say you aren't so much rare as you are uncommon, you'll run into humans more in the Urban areas then the wilds. Plus, this is a big world filled with a crap load of digimon, by comparison you're bound to see more of us then you will humans who usually have to travel here. As for that second question, the kid knows more about it but I can at least tell you it's called a Digivice." Caligo frowned as the topic of areas to go came up, Owen giving the main list on where not to go. "I will have to doubly say NEVER to enter the Dark Area, specially as a human." He then looked down at the table, a saddened look in his eyes. "I...I lost my memories a while back, can't remember anything up to a certain point waking up in the plains. But whenever the Dark Area comes up in conversation a part of me is overwhelmed with unease, dread. Something happened there I don't remember, but part of me does." He then looked back up. "So yeah, don't go there."
