"Witchmon! Baalmon! Icemon! Anyone hear me?!"
Ugh, of course not - why would his luck ever be good at a time like this? Blown down to a lower area of the mountain, the Frigimon chanced a glance at his gem - still a stark yellow - before letting it sink right back into his snowy palm. Right now, that was about the only sense of direction he had to work with - in the height of this sudden snowstorm, even this frigid Digimon could only see a few yards in front of him.
In a situation like this, there was little else he could do: he kept going. Unlike some of his compatriots, the Frigimon did not have to hole up for shelter in these conditions - so long as he found the goal, he'd be able to stabilize the area!
"... As if." The snowmon muttered to himself, before shaking his head. What had sent that blast to scatter them in the first place? Was it still after him? Was he being followed right now?
Honestly, he couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. Right, act natural: keep moving, keep the stone hidden, and keep down the path. So long as he looked like any other Frigimon in the area, he'd be fine!
Or, well, so he hoped.

Northern Prominence; definitely a place where Amelie found herself more than she'd have preferred. Why the weird climatic phenomena that Ayumi had sent them to investigate were in... a beach, or something of the like? Oh well, no point it complaining about it.
Why them, though? Of course, this time the brunette was accompanied by no more and no less than Alice and Dorothy! Momentarily, she gazed at the taller girl and at her partner, then pointed at the distance. It seemed like the epicenter of the strange phenomenon was some distance ahead, at least judging from the concentration of snow currently there.
"I think we're near." She tried her best to cover her mouth while speaking; snow getting inside was a bother. "Do you think we'll be able to find the cause?"
Or not; soon enough, a golden blast was seen at the distance, the explosion sending a shockwave accompanied by snow in every direction. It took a couple of seconds for Amy to shake off what she had just seen. That had been pretty unsettling. "I don't think that's... a natural phenomenon."
However, curiosity trumped over any kind of self-preservation the teenager felt. What was in front of them could be an historical event! And, as a member of the Research Club, she was bent on recording it to the best of her ability.
"What do you say, girls. Want to check what's up?" It took them some walking, but the trio eventually was able to discern the Frigimon in the distance; him being implicated in the recent events wasn't very hard to guess, really.
The brunette lowered her voice. "Should we approach silently, or make our presence known?"
Depending on what they decided, they'd begin to close the distance towards the snowman-like digimon.

OOC: As per usual, sorry if this isn't the best.
"I don't think that this is natural, either." The green haired woman states with a sigh, her face barely visible in heavy clothes as she glances towards the broom riding witch, her usual dress contrasted with the heavy coat on top of it, something Alice insisted she wear. "This weather... It's like what you'd see in a horror movie or something along those lines."
Dorothy remains low with the two humans, the witch unable to ascend very high due to the sheer volume of snow, though keeping her feet out of it is definitely possible for her, something her Tamer envies. "I dunno. He seems pretty determined to head... Wherever he's heading."
Alice shivers slightly, fumbling for her lighter in her pocket, given the heavy gloves she's wearing, and nervously clutching it, keeping her voice low. "He seems rather wary of his surroundings. I'd consider approaching, but we don't know if that's a good idea yet." Being surrounded in all this ice, Alice's thoughts are muddled with somewhat darker ones, an urge to stay warm the moment she finds something flammable.
"I think he's lost or something, needs help." The witch comments, brushing snow off her hat once again and grumbling something about too much snow, neither the Digimon or her Tamer finding the cold climate welcoming. " 'Sides, anyone gets friendly if ya approach 'em in the right way." The witch Digimon glances to her Tamer, and makes a slight laugh. "Who's gonna be afraid of two humans 'n me, huh?"
With a shake of her head, the green haired woman disagrees. "Let's stay back for just a little longer, just to make sure."

Right - he'd be fine, he'd be fine! Out here in the midst of this chaotic storm, the Snowman Digimon looked like any other natural resident of the area. With the stone out of sight, all he had to do was keep his head down, and make his way to the summit. So long as he got there, he would be able to determine the signal, and...
...And...
Hang on, what else did he sense? Blinking, he looked up - what luck! The silhouette of the Witchmon was unmistakable, and with a jolly jog, the Frigimon started to rush over towards Dorothy's position! "Witchmon! Oh, thank Sovereign that I found you before someone... else..."
His approach slowed, as he caught the gaze of a few more figures, in the same direction of that data signal. A green-haired girl as well as brunette joined the sorceress, the Frigimon giving a half-embarrassed, half-shocked gasp. "You're not... b-back!" Tense as he was, it didn't take long for both of his fists to be encased in blocks of ice, harshly staring down the three. "I'll blow you all off the mountain, if I have to!"
He didn't sound confident, but he at least sounded determined!

Amelie couldn't really think about an argument against neither Alice's nor Dorothy's words. It was probably true that the Frigimon was a probably a normal denizen of the tundra. Yet, just like the Witchmon had said, he seemed to be pretty determined to advance wherever he was going.
Not much to do in the face of a disagreement, however. Dorothy wanted to approach the digimon, while Alice urged caution. "Hmmm." Sure, the brunette was a curious as they came and if only her and the digimon were around, she'd probably gone and checked out on the snowman. But, she wasn't foolish enough to stop when the warning had been uttered. No one knew what could lurk in this storm. "You're right, I think. We can just follow the digimon until we know what's up, after all..."
So much for that plan, however. The Frigimon seemed to notice their silhouettes rather readily, and before anyone could do anything about it, had closed the distance towards them. At first, he seemed happy about finding... Dorothy?
Amy had pondered on asking her if she knew this digimon, but the fact that he had mistaken her for another Witchmon became evident right afterward. In fact, he seemed to be trying to threaten and/or attack them now! Growing a bit uneasy, the first instinctual reaction that she had was to raise her hands up in the air, as if conveying that she didn't mean any harm.
"Don't worry, we're not gonna hurt you!" Amelie told him. With any luck, he'd believe her. "We saw an explosion in the distance some time ago and went to check what was happening. We want to help if we can."
Straightforward, and maybe a little too sincere, but was there any reason to not go with the absolute truth? Not for her, at least at the moment. If anything, the snowman-like digimon seemed to be distraught, slightly scared and probably was separated by a companion that looked exactly like Dorothy; at least that much she could guess from his words. It was a bit of a wild guess, but he probably would appreciate some form of assistance.

The green haired woman comes up with a response the moment the Frigimon starts threatening the two, knowing that this could end poorly. "Yes. We're not here to hurt you or anything of that sort... We were here to investigate, but this seems a bit more important. We can help, if you don’t mind." She can only imagine just how much colder things will be if a fight breaks out, and Alice takes a step back while her Digimon partner decides it would be best if she spoke up now.
"Hey, hey. I may not be your friend, but I definitely ain't hostile." Dorothy looks around nervously, the tense situation having the possibility of going either way at this point. Her sharp grin briefly falters, the thought of another Witchmon being around here both intriguing... And somewhat uncomfortable. "If you've got somethin' important ya need to do, more people is better... Somethin' like that.” She clenches her teeth, definitely willing to attack if the situation calls for it, even anticipating it, but the responses from both Alice and Amelie make her have second thoughts, and hope for the best.
With a shrug, Alice decides to ask a few questions. “So there’s another Witchmon out here... Did you get separated from your group? Given the weather, I’m not all that surprised... And as Dorothy said, traveling in groups is likely safer, especially if things are dangerous.” Still a little unnerved by the explosion, the green haired woman decides to not pry too much, seeing as the snowman Digimon isn’t in the best of moods. “...Who knows what’s out here...”
Dorothy cackles a bit, still confident, but less than usual, her thoughts wandering. Even someone like her can feel the terror evident in the Frigimon’s actions and words. “Whatever it is, can’t be good...”

Wait... these three weren't responsible for the attack? It definitely helped that the three of them heeded the Frigimon's warning, but the snowmon was definitely still tense, moving his gaze carefully over each of the three that spoke.
Amelie mentioned that they were coming to investigate the explosion. The Witchmon tried to appeal to join his cause. Alice asked just what had happened. None of the three of them showed any signs of malice, or willingness to attack him - had they no idea just what was going on up here? It was a hard choice, but the Frigimon eventually lowered his arms, the ice blocks thawing back into his normal, soft hands.
"Its more than separated - that explosion happened just when the weather turned south." The Frigimon started to explain, looking back over his shoulder to that point of impact. "My group and I were set out here to find Ba... to find something. But just when it seemed like we were on the right track, we were blasted away by some golden light. Next thing I know, I came to around here, with no-one else in sight." His tone showed caution rather than concern - if anything, he was terrified that the information behind his mission would get into the wrong hands.
But considering the situation? This might have been the only chance he had to succeed!
"So, listen. I can't tell you what I'm looking for or why, just in case. But..." He brought his palms together, folded, bowing to the three of them. "Please, help! I'll make it worth your while!"

To be completely honest, Amelie didn't know how Alice and Dorothy would face this situation, even if she had ventured the guess that they wouldn't try to fight and would try to search for a solution that didn't involve fighting.
Luckily, the snowman-like digimon seemed to trust in them, or at least to think the trio could be useful for his cause; whatever the reason, the brunette would probably be satisfied at that reasoning. It didn't take the further explanation that whatever he was searching, it was probably important; enough to not trust it to a trio of relative strangers. That was fair.
She listened attentively to the tale, pondering while gazing to Alice and Dorothy to try and measure how they felt about this whole ordeal. They probably would be in, since this was more or less what the research club was about, and who knew! Maybe this would be some kind of breakthrough or historical event they would witness! Wouldn't that be amazing?
Maybe Amy was being a little too ambitious at what was happening in front of her, but still decided she wanted to help. "I understand. I can't speak for my friends, but I want to help you. By the sound of it, Ba... something, seems pretty important, so I wouldn't mind being a part of your quest."
The teenager made a small pause, almost as if giving enough time to Alice an Dorothy to give their own answer before adding. "So, what do I have to do?"

"...We'll help too. Whatever you're doing, it seems important." Alice almost takes her Digivice out of her coat's pocket, but decides that it might be best to save scanning the fellow for later... And maybe ask politely. There are more important things to do anyways, what with this mysterious... Thing that Frigimon needs to find. "A little research team like me, Dorothy and Amelie isn't much, but we'll assist in whatever ways we can..." Having to protect him is something Alice expects, given the weather, the howling wind drowning out the sound of anything far away, her paranoia getting the better of her as she starts moving faster, anticipating the worst thing she can imagine.
She can see it in her head now, a hideous, multi-segmented worm pulling the group under deep snow one by one, squirming and writhing with a single globular eye nested inside its mouth... Or not. It's just Alice's imagination getting the better of her.
Dorothy rolls her eyes a little bit, the witch shaking off snow from her hat yet again. "Yeah, pretty sure we're gonna get jumped by something... Buuut we're ready now. No way we're gonna get trashed in a group like this." The witch Digimon glances around, unable to see too far ahead, and grumbling because of that. Thinking it would be best to lighten the rather tense mood, Dorothy speaks up. "Never been here before... I don't like the cold, but this place probably ain't so bad most of the time..." A bit of a lie, given her stance on being here, but it's better than nothing.
The green haired woman nods in agreement. "Either way, all of us will help, just explain what we need to do, and we'll do it. I may ask for a little favor myself, but it won't be much. Let's get moving."

Yes, Ba-Something was indeed very important - and thankfully, both Amelie and Alice seemed willing enough to try and help! "Oh, thank you!" Giving one more bow towards each of them, the snowy Digimon looking over to the spirit wielder. That was a very reasonable question: "Well... if the others are thinking the same way I am, we'll all be able to meet up at the target. We're using these:"
Frigimon raised a palm, a yellowish, circle-shaped stone emerging from his palm. "This reacts to the data signal we're looking for. Warmer colors means its closer, cooler colors, further away. Once its a bright, pinkish red, apparently we're supposed to start digging through the snow." Simple enough, right? "But if I was a betting 'mon, I would start from the summit and then work our way down. Right now, I just need a 'guard' or two, so to speak."
Presuming that was enough, the four of them would be well on their way to the summit - and, just as Dorothy expected, the group hadn't been traveling alone. Actually, Alice's imagination wasn't too far off from the truth: it was a threat that was burrowing underneath this blizzard, relying on senses other than sight to locate the group.
"Hm?" At the middle of a relatively level path, the Frigimon signaled the group to stop - and just a few yards in front of them, a pair of hands reached up, grasping at open air, as if trying to snag someone's ankles!
"Graugh... hey!"
The Digimon - a Grumblemon - rested his elbows on the rocky surface, before pulling himself straight up. "What gives - you all just stop like you knew I was here?" Actually, the Frigimon felt the vibration very clearly, with most of its weight being literal water weight - but a sigh from the snowman aside, this highwayman quickly changed his tune, a stone club hoisted over his left shoulder!
"Alright, fine enough! Bits, jewelry, everything ya got - drop it, and I won't have to go golfing!"

Well, that had been a pretty quick change of stance! Amelie was glad that the Frigimon was a reasonable fellow, even though that made her doubt a bit. Had that been an act and was the Frigimon up to something... else? Well, given they were in a bit of a race against time, and that his explanation seemed to be dire enough for him to recur to deceit.
Not like it wasn't obvious he wasn't telling the whole story, but that didn't matter for now; they'd learn it eventually. For now, to focus on their mission. Amy listened to Frigimon's explanation, eventually nodding at his words; seemed simple enough! "Sounds like something we can do, right?" The brunette gazed at her companions with a small smile. It seemed like they've just got a little journey to entertain themselves in their investigation. What else to ask for? The trip towards the summit would probably take a bit of time, but thus far, it was going more or less well. Or... it was until they were signaled to stop; before she could ask what was happening, it became obvious enough. Was that... a bandit? Talk about inopportune.
Amelie gazed at the Grumblemon with a bit of disdain, bringing out her digivice in order to scan him. Being polite wasn't something she cared about in the face of... some kind of 'ambush' if she even could call it that.
"You know there are way more fulfilling ways to earn a living than to wait in the middle of a blizzard for unwary travelers in order to steal their belongings, right? I can't imagine a lot of beings passing through this place. Not to say that you wouldn't risk catching a cold that way."
Was her tone disdainful? Absolutely. Was she being a smartass? Maybe, but... stealing from travelers, amid a snowstorm? Really?

"Yes. Let's keep going... The sooner the weather returns to normal, the better." Alice contemplates writing down in her notebook, but in weather like this, such a thing is impossible, the howling wind, the lack of lighting, the deep snow and dark gray, heavy rock up the path ahead... It's foreboding, to say in the least, the perfect time and place for someone to exploit the vulnerable. "Dorothy, are you ready for whatever comes our way?"
The green haired woman gets a response in the form of Dorothy laughing. "C'mon, I'm always ready." A cocky, extremely large grin forms on the witch Digimon's face, and she simply continues along, floating with her broom to avoid the snow and rough, uneven rock.
Of course, when the inevitable happens and the raging, big nosed gremlin bandit pops out of the gravel and dirt, an immediate response comes from the witch, readying to attack, but not doing so just yet when Alice holds out her arm. "Aww, already bein' a dork by asking for all our stuff? What a pain..."
Alice rolls her eyes. "What the hell is a thug like you doing out here?" And with a threat as implausible as "going golfing", the green haired woman barely restrains a laugh until she realizes that being thrown off a cliff is a very real threat at this point. "It doesn't matter. Dorothy, the moment he makes a move, attack. I don't think we have time for this..." She takes a few steps back, just to make sure she's not in the inevitable crossfire, and glares at the Grumblemon. "How about five thousand bits and you just forget this happened?" She takes out her Digivice, and attempts to scan the big nosed Digimon alongside Amelie.
Meanwhile, Dorothy hides a hand behind her back, ready for anything at this point, a silent, sly grin on her face.

"Eh? Wise gals, eh?" The goblin Digimon simply gave a snort at Amelie's comment, clearly not amused by her concern. What was she, looking down at him for his way of life? Quite clearly, he didn't take well to any of their tones - especially not Dorothy. C'mon: attack, oblige, or flee, it wasn't hard.
Why did he have to run into the strangest three girls on the mountain? Well, in the Grumblemon's opinion, anyway. Both the spirit user's and the tamer's scanners would return the same result:
Species: Grumblemon Level: Champion Type: Ogre Attribute: Data Family: Nature Spirits Next Form: N/A Prior Form: Digimental of Soil (Hyb)
Seismic Smash Jack in the Box Mystic Hat Empowerment Spiked Flail That aside, the goblin's ear did give a twitch at Alice's offer: 5,000 bits, and the group could simply go along their way? The goblin scratched behind his head: "Would if I could, but I can't. Boss says I gotta find this particular shining rock - so robbin' ya blind was about the best chance I had at this."
And considering he already screwed that up, he tensed his hand around the club. He wasn't going to get what he needed if he just blew them off the cliff, right? "Alright, then, enough of the pretense. If we're gonna fight for it, let's fight for it!"
The Figimon just sighed, shaking his head. "... Were they short on fighters or something?"

Well, there was no reasoning in here, not with this Grumblemon. But, at least there was one thing that Amelie could point out; prior form being... a Digimental? That wasn't something she had seen, ever before. What did that mean; that an inanimate object could become a digimon out of the blue? And most importantly, since this wasn't a true digimon... Did that mean she could go all out? There wasn't any time to lose; bringing out her D-Tector, a strand of fractal code formed on the brunette's left hand; time to get serious! In a flash of magenta-pinkish light and a couple of seconds, Amy's form contorted and expanded; growing abruptly and spasmodically until it reached the towering height of Siftermon and finishing the evolution. Not even a second later, and without even making a gesture, a stream of flames poured from the tendrils of her head directly towards their enemy. If he really wanted to fight, a fight was something he was going to get; if anything, evading both this attack and the follow up she was expecting from Dorothy and, possibly, Frigimon would prove to be a pretty difficult task. And that made Siftermon wonder... why a single digimon had picked a fight against two at the very least? Unless there was... something else, that didn't look like the smartest proposition.

Seeing this, Dorothy reacts immediately, the witch floating off to the side on her broom to reveal what she's been doing this entire time: In her outstretched palm is a vibrant orange magic circle, and as she snaps her fingers to activate it, a series of six fireballs come out, rotating like the cylinder of a revolver, all aimed at the Grumblemon with a psychotic, downright joyous grin . "Hey, Snowman! Stay back for a lil' bit, this guy's gonna be roasted!" The witch Digimon shouts to the Frigimon, as if giving him advice. Then again, with the multitude of fire attacks being unleashed, even the most foolish wouldn't get close, the heat causing slight discomfort to the green haired Tamer. "Hmph. I guess it can't be helped..." Alice takes a few steps back, shrugging and making sure not to get too close to the chaos, looking to the snowman Digimon with a grumpier expression. With her Digivice still out, she attempts to scan Frigimon, seeing no harm in trying to do so. "I have a lot of questions, but I guess I'll be the only one able to focus on them while everyone fights..." And indeed, Alice has a lot of questions. Who is Grumblemon's "boss"? Why is he so determined to do this? Why is the Frigimon so secretive in the first place, and what exactly is that odd stone? Why is this so important? Perhaps more answers will come later. Perhaps now. Either way, this is no time to ask more questions.
Dorothy is attempting to use Armagus Flare on Grumblemon: Armagus Flare: Dorothy snaps her fingers, and a magic circle forms in front of her before rapidly firing out globs of burning hot, glowing, tar-like material rapidly for a moment, pelting foes with sticky, burning projectiles that set fire to objects and cause burns.
Ignites the target for one turn, something that can no doubt cause panic and does some degree of damage. Incredibly painful. Two post cooldown.
