Unfortunately, Cloak was exactly right: despite their assistance earlier on, none of the expedition team would hesitate on what needed to be done to ensure the success of this mission. This was bigger than anyone here, as far as they were concerned - the fate of the many simply outweighed the fate of the few.
Fortunately, that future would not come to pass: with Rasielmon opening the portal and the infected tamer vacating the cavern, both Frigimon and Icemon finally relaxed their stance, once more turning to face Baihumon's effigy. One glance at Dagger's distraught state was enough to realize that he wasn't likely to interfere with what was going on - which left the group with the immediate problem before them:
Settling the fractal code in. Amelie herself had taken up the hint, using her device to try and help sort the code. "Its crude, but both Witchmon and Baalmon donated a section of their own fractal code to the effigy. We believe the one in the Dark Area simply gave out under the pressure - so this is simply a matter of repair." Amelie's own efforts seemed to work - the data streaming into and back out of the device, streaming right along the lion.
At Dorothy's question, the Witchmon returned a tired smirk. "Well, don't know if you have a cat... but imagine that you're sparing energy to create a new broom? Using the data in front of you, simply follow through with that motion, but instead focus it towards the statue." That was something that only fellow Witchmon could understand - but if it was enough, the 'rate of repair' would eventually double, the data soon adhering itself onto the statue.
Eventually, as more and more of the data would settle, the statue would seem to slowly repair. Cracks around the ankles would recede, the effects of weather would slowly fall off, and it looked like that was about the extent of it - though, as that last bit of data sunk in, a brief, blinding white light surrounded the lion.
Did something go wrong? No, far from it! With the repair complete, Baihumon's effigy (X) finally regained its original luster, even gaining the full coloration of its original form. Even more than before, the lion seemed to have its own regal presence...
... One that was thrown off by just one unexpected factor. "... Am I seeing that right?"
"Huh..."
Well, they were right to be confused: resting right on the lion's head was a rather interesting Digimon, one that hadn't been there when they entered the cavern:
More than just the Digimon's appearance, though, was its condition: the little Digimon looked like it was slowly rousing from a deep sleep, like it had naturally been sleeping their for hours already. "Baihumon? Is it time yet?" Its voice had an equally tired tone, the Digimon slowly blinking, eyes looking over -
Though at the sight of the group, it gasped, and slipped right down the other side, hiding behind the lion's leg! "Ah! No, no, no!"
"... You got me, I'm at a loss, here..."

Dagger flinched at Rasielmon's words, but chose to remain silent. The Duramon's eyes dimming somewhat as he turned mechanically towards the statue. He could be of little use in repairing it, but at least out of all of the group he was the most fighting fit. Should danger arise he would protect them even if his reluctance to do so grew more pronounced with the easy disregard of his Tamer. In the end Dagger knew Cas would have been proud of him for putting the greater good before herself. It was after all what the Doctor did, repeatedly and often to her own detriment. Sacrificing little bits of her humanity to buy others time with the Duramon only slowly realizing now how vastly his partner had whittled away at her hours.
Cassandra would have been proud of him. Would have forgiven him, but as the Duramon watched impassively as the statue healed the only thing he could feel coiling up within his core was shame. A Tamer's partner was meant to be their champion. The one being in all the world that stood by them through thick and thin. Stood by them like Cas had stood by him. She had broken her bones, body, and spirit to save him. Faced off against thugs and D-reapers with nothing, but her wits and refusal to back down to save him. Had died to save him.
Was dying again...
When she had needed him most. He had stayed. They all had stayed. The Doctor now out of sight being out of mind. His Tamer was dying and he had stayed. He had put the greater good above all else as she would have wanted, but all Dagger could see what the betrayal in his twin's eyes as the slow realization crept upon him that he had no sacrificed Cas as he had sacrificed his own brother to the fate of Luminas's whims and greater good. If she died there would be no good byes. No second chances...
With tired broken eyes Dagger turned his attention to the strange new Digimon greeting it with a soft "Hello," exhaustion and disappear heavy in every syllable. Cas had always been the best of them at giving comfort.

It was terribly unfortunate that Dagger was left in the state he was in... Nothing like the state they themselves were currently in probably compared to the emotional turmoil the Duramon was experiencing. "Mikemon should be able to handle the doctor... I mean, he may be the only person we know capable of even slightly helping... We just have to believe." Rasielmon quietly spoke towards Alice, figuring quite well that their friend was lost and confused. Couldn't blame them really... a whole lot had happened in the past hour or so.
On one hand, Baihumon's statue looked wonderful now... as if it had just been made the other day! However, people were quick to note an unexpected revelation... the appearance of a tiny Digimon, about the size of your typical In-Training actually. Even Rasielmon had seemed to been caught offguard... Did they all overlook it being there this whole time, or was it's appearance sparked by the revitalization of the statue? Some of the futures she had witnessed earlier while had detailed the statue's repair, this was a detail that was completely overlooked. Unfortunately however, their presence was taken by the small Digimon as a threat, the poor thing cowering by the statue's base.
Internally, Rasielmon's individual halves were thinking different thoughts... The human-side that was Haru was captivated by the creature's small, innocent appearance and wished to calm their doubts and worries. The Digimon-side that was Tawna though...? While not actively thinking awry thoughts, their attention was heavily drawn to the unknown Digimon, though even they couldn't quite put a finger on what their opinion of the creature was, partly due to exhaustion dulling their senses. In the end, popular vote swung towards Haru commandeering Rasielmon.
The tall cat-like angel drew a bit closer, kneeling down (though even kneeling, she was still just as tall as Alice) to appear somewhat less threatening, holding out a hand to the unknown Digimon... "Shhh... Don't be frightened little one. No one here is going to hurt you." they softly spoke with a gentle tone, even letting out a slight smile. Haru's kind nature had taken over regarding dealing with the small Digimon, primarily as she didn't want to scare them. It was kinda half/half of perhaps this appeal working... but a cave like this was no place for a Digimon this small. However, it was interesting as to what they meant by Baihumon... What kind of Digimon just happened to know a Baihumon anyway? "... Is Baihumon a friend of yours?"

Alice is the next to react, her curiosity immediately brought to the front when she spots the strange, somewhat beautiful, and definitely a little bit adorable Digimon among the statue's feet. She moves a little closer to it so she can scan with her Digivice, hoping that it isn't too afraid... And at this point, who wouldn't be, with so many strangers, some of them fairly scary looking? She's almost tempted to say hello, try and keep it calm... But at the same time, she's not sure what it can do. Something about this strange, diminutive Digimon feels more than a little bit off, though it could be nothing... After all, the green haired woman isn't very good at seeing in the dark... What comes up on her Digivice's screen is enough to make her gasp. Calumon Level: Super Mega Attribute: Free Family: ? ? ? Abilities: ? ? ? "It seems harmless? I don't know, the readings on it are weird, but it looks friendly enough..." Whatever this little creature is, the fact it is unable to be identified causes a surge of excitement to run through the green haired woman, the entire miserable trek up and soon to be down this mountain all the more worth it... Though the sheer deadness evident in the Duramon's words make her think that perhaps it's best if she turn her attention to something she's not that good at herself, gently drifting over to him, still on Dorothy's broom. "...Hey. I know you don't know me very well, if at all, but trust me... We wouldn't have got this far without you, and the world isn't nonstop torment, from what I know. Things will get better...""...And if they don't, ya can cut Alice's hair right off and say it's grass." Dorothy tries to lighten the mood as well, a joking laugh coming from the more sarcastic of the two Witchmon despite feeling exhausted after doing as she was needed. Giving away a portion of her Fractal Code wasn't pleasant, a slight lightheaded feeling having come over her from doing so, perhaps something more from inexperience than anything else, who knows. "But yeah. Try n' make up for it later. Got somethin' to deal with riiight here."
The witch soon takes a few deliberately slow steps towards the Calumon while Alice is occupied with making a hasty sketch of the small, hiding creature. "Relax. Nobody's gonna do anythin' to ya. We're all friends here, right? Right, guys?" Her forced smile is a bit awkward, expecting the worst, given Alice's incredibly excited response to scanning the creature.
"Well, it doesn't look very dangerous..." Alice finally starts paying attention again, the green haired woman being extremely careful, and not getting any closer to Calumon, finding the strange, small but also abnormally powerful Digimon peculiar, to say in the least, especially what it said... But the incredibly tall catwoman composed of both Haru and Tawna takes the forefront and speaks to it before she can do so, so Alice stays back, floating over to Amelie on the broom, her inexperience with it showing as she does so, and showing her the results of the scan to the brunette. "...What do you make of it? I don't think Calumon here is dangerous, but..."
Her next words are stated to the group as a whole. "I think this might be far, far bigger than we thought."

Well, that had been a pretty interesting experience, and something for Amelie to add to her curriculum down the line; restorer of ancient relics sounded nice, didn't it? However, before she could bask on what had been partially her success, a strange digimon had appeared seemingly out of thin air; connecting dots wasn't precisely a hard thing to do.
Even then... the results ended up in her staring at the digimon incredulously, her mouth slightly agape. Just... what was that thing? Both the revelation and the fact that it seemed afraid of them instead of the other way around was puzzling, and that was, to say the least.
In any case, there wasn't much that could be done about the situation, except wait and trying to appear as non-threatening as possible. The brunette knew what was to wake up suddenly, and could guess that everyone trying to appear friendly at once could possibly overwhelm the digimon.
She wasn't contributing to that, preferring to just give it some space.

Well, it was definitely both an impressive and jarring sight - just what was this Calumon doing here? The scan on Alice's device was definitely one of both intrigue and concern, but it didn't stop Rasielmon nor Dorothy from trying to approach. His ears gave a small twitch as that scanning program ran through - honestly, it just looked like the little guy was spooked!
Fortunately, no-one approached the creature with any ill intent. Dagger's words largely fell into the background, as the Calumon slowly relaxed his grip. With a blink, he looked right up towards the cat-eared angel, then to the sorceress. Calm voices? Friends? Slowly, the small Digimon came out from behind his cover, blinking as he looked up towards Haru and Tawna. "So tall..." Oh, right, Baihumon? The creature gave a chuckle! "Eheh - he said he had to sleep for a while - guess I fell along with that too!"
So, wait, it wasn't a guardian? Questions were surely mounting, the Witchmon of the expedition pinching the bridge of her nose. "Honestly, this is above my pay-grade... what are we supposed to do here?"
"Hey, don't look over here," the Icemon shrugged, "Frigimon and I are just tag-alongs from the frozen north. Figured that you two from Luminas would handle stuff like this."
"Well, he's a variable." The Baalmon stepped closer: "We should probably take him along back with us, to-"
"No, no! No 'take'!" Well, that was... 'expected', maybe? The Calumon's protest was simple, even taking the moment to glide up and hide behind the tip of Dorothy's cap! "Luminas is scary, I mean..."
"Tch... guess its not in our hands." Like it or not, Witchmon knew that none of them here were exactly in condition to 'contest' the other group. "How are you all gonna handle it?"

Daggers blank gold eyes would slide between Alice and Haru/Tawna, but the most the Duramon seemed able to muster in response was a shallow nod of acknowledgement. Their words ringing as hollow as the cavern within his ears as the Digimon acted on autopilot allowing the others to greet and deal with the new digimon in his stead. He had little, after all, to offer in terms of comfort to a stranger when he could not even spare any for his own Tamer. It wasn't until Luminas was mentioned that any spark of life seemed to rouse within the golden digimon.
'Run back to Luminas. You were always good at running.' Cloak's words echoed through his mind cold and as sharp as a blade as an ugly snarled ripped it's way out of the Duramon's throat. Shifting his stand he leveled a gleaming golden sword at the Baalmon his eyes narrowed and fangs bared.
"Five steps back or I put this through your chest." The Duramon threatened darkly as he motioned for the demon digimon to do as he said. After all perhaps he was without his sibling, but of the group he was the closest to full fighting fit where as the Baalmon looked to be on his last leg.
"Plan?" He inquired tossing a glance at Amelia who had gone and made herself the defacto leader.

Perfect! She and Dorothy managed to it seems break through to the little guy! Curious and curiouser... what would a Baihumon (certainly an important one if they were tied to this statue) have to do with this Digimon? While Calumon didn't seem particularly impressive appearance-wise, looks perhaps were deceiving... Alice while did not seem to consider them to be dangerous (and hell, Rasielmon herself didn't feel anything particularly off about them), the readings from the scan seemed to suggest something entirely different judging from her friends' reactions.
Dagger AND Cloak seemed so much more aggressive than they last saw them... Did something change about them, or were they always like this and it just didn't come out until now? Regardless, Rasielmon did not like the aggro attitude... While the Tawna side of her just wanted to tell the sword-like dragon to suck it up, Haru was more... considerate at least of their feelings. "Lets... try and save the stabbing for actual enemies if we can." the Biomerge softly spoke trying to at least calm them slightly.
She had no intentions to start in-fighting, but she was prepared to intervene at least. Dagger certainly seemed to be the stabby type, but even her weakened state was more than capable of at least subduing them if she had to.
Beyond Dagger's venomous remark to Baalmon, the primary focus was still Calumon... they a factor Witchmon's group did not seem to expect either. While there was talk on whether they were to take the new individual with them back to Luminas, to her surprise Dagger was not the only one to apparently have a distaste for the angelic city... Calumon taking refuge on Dorothy's hat. Fortunately there didn't seem to be too much resistance, as frankly Rasielmon would have objected to it. "I vouche for the belief that Calumon should decide where they want to go and not be forced to." they solemnly spoke, making it clear where their opinions laid. As they stood back up slightly, they gently smiled as Calumon clung to Dorothy's cap as she began to speak to them. "Would you like to come with our group to our library? It is at the Network Plain, and there are a lot of nice people there who might like to meet you."

"...The absolute last thing we need right now is violence, everyone." Alice immediately furrows her brow, determined to make the rather... Grotesque images playing out in her head not a reality. Thoughts of the entire group being eviscerated out of an aggressive Digimon's temper tantrum, the kind of thing that nobody wants to come true. "Especially if the statue gets broken again..." Was Dagger also corrupted by... Whatever was inside Cas as well? She shivers a bit, uneasy at the possibilities that seem very much real at this point in time. Attempting to be the voice of reason in this, she takes a deep breath, and then begins to speak once more. "Listen. We're all tired, we're all at the end of our wits and our patience, so if we start fighting over this kind of thing, there's no guarantee any of us are going to get down that mountain. I think it's best if we set aside all of our grudges just for five minutes while we all get out of here and figure out what to do with this little thing. And I propose that we study Calumon back at the Library and get out of here before anything happens. Of if that's too dangerous, leave Calumon here." The sooner everyone left, the better, she thinks to herself, it being clear that this group is perhaps too large to not have some sort of animosity emerge. When she realizes Haru/Tawna said the same thing she said, more or less, even more questions pop up in her head. Dorothy, on the other hand, seems a bit surprised by the fact Calumon seems pretty attached to her already, given the fact that she's now got the little, pale white Digimon atop her hat. "I think we should take it to the Research Club's base, like you 'n the golden cat said. Don't think we've been there yet? I kinda don't remember." She brings a hand to the Calumon to just give it a slight, gentle poke, puzzled as to why it decided to hide atop her hat of all places. "Pretty cute lil' guy... Why ya so worried 'bout the statue of, lemme think... Baihumon?" She cackles, looking up, or at least trying to do so, at the strange, small Digimon. "This big ol' tiger your friend or somethin'?"
"...It's a little odd. Were they in here the entire time?" Alice shrugs, still not sure what to think of Calumon, her mind primarily occupied by the potential brawl that might break out. "Too many questions. Right now, what we need to do is make some decisions." She takes in a deep, uneasy breath, holding it for a moment before exhaling, nervous from the presence of the fairly unpredictable sword Digimon and his aggression towards the cloaked demon Digimon.
She can't stop thinking about the worst case scenario.

Well, talk about interesting situations! On one side, there was the group that kiiinda wanted to take Calumon back to Luminas, and on the other, more decidedly clubbier approach to the situation where Calumon was expected to reside within the Great Moving Library. Both were interesting propositions, even though Amelie herself thought there was a certain extent of... naivety on each reasoning.
Appearances could deceive, and this digimon was still Super Mega level. She had no idea how potent Haru+Tawna's predictions could be, but it was definitely too soon to be treating a being capable of holding so much power as a mere pet.
It was interesting, how Dagger had questioned her about the plan, when the brunette was, seemingly, one of the few people who seemed to be less involved with the newcomer. However, she had been pressed for an answer...
"What the little guy does is entirely on his own free will, in my opinion. He should decide." She ultimately said, still somewhat puzzled at the succession of events, combined with everyone suddenly trusting him. She then stared at the group who had led them towards this place. "Is there anything else to be done in here? Or... was restoring the statue everything we had to do? I'd like to exit this place as soon as possible."
In all honesty, considering how there were at least two people with varying degrees in injuries struggling in the Library... time was of the essence. And convincing a new being on whether he wanted to accompany them or not seemed like a distant second priority, in comparison. Not like Amy herself could help that much, but given the choice, she preferred to be there, and not here.

Was that a threat?
Honestly, the Baalmon hadn't yet made any decision, simply a participant in the conversation at this point. Duramon's physical threat, however, ignited a red glint in the demon's eye. "By what right-"
"Enough!" The Witchmon extended her arm outward, right in front of the Baalmon's chest. The sorceress held the same sentiment as the rest of the group, the Frigimon even holding a hand on the swordman's shoulder. "This isn't a fight we need to have here."
"We've already set out what we were paid for. We have no obligation to force this creature's will." At Frigimon's explanation and Witchmon's restraint, the Baalmon relented. Truly, there was no reason for this fight, and thus he simply gave a step back, relenting to the Duramon's request.
Of course, such an altercation was definitely uncomfortable, and the Calumon reflected that, hiding behind and gripping around Dorothy's hat. For a few long moments after that fight, the small creature remained like that, shuddering, trying to stay out of sight. Eventually, at Dorothy's and Rasielmon's calm voice, the small creature calmed down. He gave a small nod in Haru and Tawna's direction. "Mhm... so long as it isn't up in the clouds..." As for Dorpthy's question? The critter looked down, tilting his head.
"Of course he's a friend! He just had to sleep for a while..." Even by detail, the Calumon seemed a little uncertain in tone. Right now, what mattered was the immediate situation.
So, to the spirit wielder's question, Witchmon gave a nod. "I cannot promise there won't be a follow-up visitor to your club, just to check up. For now? Head on out."
With that? Well, in that oddly quiet setting, the group would be allowed to leave. Witchmon stayed behind as the rest headed on out - and after they would leave, they would start to see why, a dense magic starting to swirl around, that open cave soon replaced with the illusion of a sheer stone wall, marked well with the mountain.
[Exit. Calumon proceeds outward with the Club, likely clinging to Dorothy's hat!]

Very well; their mission here was done, and that meant...
They had nothing else to do here. Whether Tawna+Haru, Alice, Dorothy or Calumon wanted to remain there and chat was their choice, but at the very least she knew of one person who probably was in a hurry.
Amelie proceeded to fiddle with her D-Tector a bit, and several seconds later, a portal came to being.
"It leads to The Library, in case any of you wants to go there. Will probably be open for a minute or so; see you on the other side."
Not having more to say, Amy just jumped inside. No matter how much she tried to chase them off, that feeling of worry towards the people less fortunate than them in this quest just managed to grow and grow. Sure, she barely knew the Doctor, but... that still had been a person on the verge of death or something worse that they had willingly decided to leave behind.
In a sense, Amelie felt somewhat responsible, and that wasn't to say that she still had no idea of Carlos' current condition.
As her body traversed the space that separated their current location from The Library, she could only hope for the best. [Exit]

In the end, it seemed that everything had went somewhat smoothly in the grand scheme of things. Calumon seemed happy to come along, and the other group were willing to relinquish them to the club... Honestly, even if they received someone later to visit them, they would be fine with the circumstance; as long as it didn't infringe on Calumon's rights.
The angelic Biomerge softly gave Witchmon and her own group a courteous bow, Amelie already hosting a Digi-Port back to the library. Good thing too as her own strength was waning as they speaked... for a moment she even tripping, though was able to catch her balance. She glanced over at Alice and Dorothy with a tired look, her breathing a bit slower than normal. "Alice... Do you care if you can just, kinda guide me to like our room when we get there? Not gonna lie, I'm very ready to collapse any minute now, and when I do, Haru won't be conscious... let alone Tawna. Mikemon probably is going to need a lot of time to work on doctor Cas, and she is the worst off of us all." she quietly spoke to the green-haired girl, smiling demurely. "We'll be fine, just... a lil' sleepy. Help take care of the others and Calumon while we're out-of-commission."
With that, the Rasielmon somewhat slowly bent down as she stepped into the Digi-port... Not much time before the miracle that created them would expire.

The Duramon would hold his blade aloft keeping a firm gaze on the Baalmon and his group though once the Demon Digimon had stepped back he would lower his weapon. Ignoring the others for the moment the Weapon Digimon would let out a soft huff shifting to draw in a little closer to the group. Once Calumon came to his decision though there was little else for him to do other then to choose.
Choose whether to follow Haru and Tawna through the portal or to take the long route. Pausing for a moment he stared at the glowing portal. What lay on the otherside he couldn't be certain of. Yet steeling himself the Dagger trudged forward weary and wary of the reception he might receive from his sibling and Tamer. That is if Cas lived at all. The fact the woman could very well be dead and he wouldn't even know...wincing the Ultimate Digimon stepped through the light.

With that over, Alice and Dorothy have little reason to stay here, the duo having a brief conversation before entering the portal, a sigh coming from the green haired woman, one of both relief and exhaustion as she gently floats over on the broom towards the witch Digimon with the strange subject atop her head.
"Ya seem to be gettin' better with the broom. Maybe you should go out and try ridin' it at night sometime like I do." The witch states with a confident smile, looking up at her Tamer with a bit of honesty to her voice instead of the usual sarcasm until she sees Alice's expression of disapproval. "Aww, you know it'll be fun, your're just holdin' yourself back by not givin' it a shot!"
Alice just rolls her eyes, and chuckles. "And risk breaking my leg and a whole lot more? No thanks..." Despite everything, she genuinely considers it for a moment, a chance to experience the same things Dorothy has... But a certain pale white Digimon atop Dorothy's hat probably needs to be investigated first, the green haired woman putting away those silly fantasies for a moment. "Let's get going, either way. We've got a lot to think about." Alice soon exits the cave via the Digi-Port, with Dorothy following shortly after, the green haired woman excited and deeply worried all at once. Alice would later write a new note in her personal notebook and journal: The cave at the top of the mountain contained a statue of some sort of legendary Digimon beast, a tiger with four eyes, easily larger than any man, and decorated in harsh white and blue stripes, that of a truly impressive predator. It required some repairs, but eventually, we managed to fix it after a long trek up. But now, I'm given so many questions that it is almost unthinkable. An entire world of unanswered troubles has opened up.
From a woman clawing her face viciously and losing her mind, the fact that this statue was somehow so important that not only were four people sent to fix it, but others were sent to stop it, to a strange Digimon that seems to have no abilities whatsoever, yet is somehow more powerful than anything I could have imagined...
Just how deep and dark are the secrets I have come across?
(Exit.)
