The last time that she had thought about Eva had been so long ago that the renamon was almost ashamed to call herself a friend of the other. She had been busy, from raiding prisons, to fighting in the north to fighting tower after tower. From dying to doing all these crazy and increasingly dangerous things. But that wasn't really the reason for her to come to terminus; she didn't care much for the actions that she had done; she had done them out of need out of desire to help. Which was part of her stance as an apostle to the Royal knights.
No she had heard about some rather disturbing news about her friend; something that had made her wince. The other had been hurt recently from something that had happened in the north. She barely knew of what had transpired there as she tried to keep herself out of the loop of that location for the mean time as wisemon had told her firmly not to go up there.
So here she was, standing on the side of the street, looking at a piece of paper with some directions written on it. She had remembered offering to buy the renamon a drink when they had last met in thanks and friendship between the two. But they never ended up doing so; instead K was left to her anger and before that they hadn't even interacted much.
She had heard from a few of the bar patrons that she had checked that the renamon hadn't come by recently. She didn't know anything about Eva's habits, what she liked, what she disliked or what she would do in her free time. She barely knew them and she sought to change that after treating them. The renamon let out a soft sigh and started the climb to the 3rd floor of the apartment after she luckily was able to pass through the 'entry' without so much as having to flash a key or ID to what passed as the guard to the locale. With all of the trouble lately in the world places were ramping up security in an effort to placate their citzens...
The renamon turned over the piece of paper and frowned slightly; the third room on the left would be eva's right? The renamon sighed and counted the doors stopping when she reached the third door. This place was incredibly nice by even her standards and the renamon found herself grinning a bit as she firmly knocked on the door. If the other was home they'd likely hear it and her greeting.
"Eva? are you in there?"

Boredom. The damnable boredom. Not even trying to find solace in the bottom of a bottle was solving it anymore, the days and nights passing away in a dull haze of nothingness with just the occasional shoot of pain to cut through the oppressive fog. The digimon felt like she was having a staring contest with the four walls of her apartment, and the walls were a most unyielding adversary.
It was a curious thing trying to decipher maintenance and repair manuals for your own body, leaving Eva with equal parts confusion at its complexity, and a further weight upon her shoulders. If she was a complete digimon, this would have been so much simpler. Chuck a healing move here, a bit of "magic" there and she would have been back on her feet. Heck, even if she was a human it would have been easier to remedy than this, but, instead every befuddling technical readout flashing before her eyes, every mechanism, every piece of human ingenuity reminding her over and over, beating her down with a simple reminder.
You're not one of them.
They're better than you.
They're whole.
She clenched her fist, slamming it down upon her table, jarring notes, decorations, and her soldering iron, a panel on her arm, open to reveal its intricate components within slamming shut with the clatter of carbon fibre on carbon fibre as she just sat back in her chair, head in her hands.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK
Eva's features furrowed into a frown, her fists clenched as she shakily stood to her feet. It was safe to say that in this frame of mind, being social was not the first thing on her mind. In fact, she was barely holding back simply yelling "Piss off!" through the door, deep down wondering if doing that would make her feel just a little better for a brief moment, when she heard a voice that gave her pause.
"Eva? Are you in there?"
"K?"
She took a moment to look down at herself. She was in no state of dress for company, walking around in just her underwear. Of course, most digimon did not seem to care about such things, even her own species usually just went around as digital nature created them, but, she could never be comfortable like that.
"Hang on, give me a second. I'm not dressed properly."
When Eva opened the door just half a minute later, the Renamon had thrown on a vest top, and a pair of tracksuit bottoms. The apartment behind her was small, but rather neat save for the clutter on the kitchen table, full of notes and various tools. It looked modern with light clean lines, a television in the background with a football game playing. The world cup, most likely. Eva herself though? She just looked tired and drained, her fur had very much lost its sheen, and as for her cybernetics, they were scuffed and scraped, and in some cases even held together by duct tape.
She nonethless forced herself into smiling. "What brings you here? Oh, come in! Can I get you anything? Tea? Coffee?"

The renamon frowned and looked around; pretty sure that she had come to the right place. That she had gone through all the trouble of poking and prodding for the information regarding her friend. Honestly if it wasn't for Eva that train wreck might of been the end of her; she might not of gone to see her home ruined and... well. There wouldn't be much of a journey past a burnt out crater. She felt like she owed a little bit to the other renamon even if they didn't feel like she did.
Worse still she didn't understand the pain the other went through; what she had to deal with and how her life had gone. After her knocking there was silence, after she had spoken however... Well. There was a single word that returned her question. As though surprised at the fact that the other was here.
The renamon blinked a little bit however when the other spoke about not being dressed properly. It took her a moment or two and she would of addressed that but considering how she knew of human culture and that sometimes it went well hand on hand with some digimon... She couldn't be surprised.
"All right."
It wasn't too long before Eva opened the door; which at first K had broke in a small smile. She could quickly see the apartment behind them; but that smile quickly fell off of her face as she saw how Eva looked. Tired. Drained. The fur had lost most of it's sheen and the cybernetics... It took the renamon a few moments before shaking her head a little bit.
"Well. The last time that we saw one another was back in the eastern timberlands. Thought to check up on you."
It wasn't really a lie; it had been most of the reason for coming here. She'd bow her head a little bit and step into the apartment blinking a few times she'd consider the offer for the beverages.
"I could go for some tea that's for sure. But I do want to ask.. what.. happened? You look like you've been through hell."
Honestly the renamon felt bad; she knew that recovering in the digital world while better than the human one still yielded a lot of time lost. To her it seemed that eva was struggling to recover; or perhaps... could she recover normally as she was? The renamon didn't know enough about her friend. She didn't know where she came from; in fact she barely knew much past the combat abilities and some of the current stuff from what felt like almost a year ago...

Eva did her best to seem cheery and upbeat, a false smile spreading over her features as if she had strapped a mask on them. "Tea. Got it." She gave a thumbs up as she walked just around the corner into the small kitchen. Her gait had a slight unsteadiness to it, despite her attempts to mask such a thing, she was certainly favouring one leg over the other with a slight grinding noise as she lifted her left.
She set the kettle to boil, retrieved a couple of teabags, Earl Grey by the look of it and turned to K, adjusting something on her forearm with a slight pained grimace piercing through her plastered on cheerful, jovial expression. "Do you have any milk or sugar in your tea?"
"But I do want to ask.. what.. happened? You look like you've been through hell."
"Yeah I suppose there's no hiding that." Her tone dropping its false joviality, as the more sombre undercurrent cut through. "Had a run in with someone who had considerably more firepower than me. I and the people I was trying to protect survived, and whatever that thing was, didn't. I would say all in one piece too, but- She gestured to a table in the sitting room with a damaged arm, upon which sat a selection of both electronic and mechanical components, all singed, twisted and mangled laid out and arranged in neat organised rows, a laptop computer sat next to them with its screen showing blueprints and technical readouts galore. "-parts of me are sitting on that table over there."

"Thank you Eva."
The renamon gave a small smile and followed the other curiously; she wouldn't sit down until she had her tea or such in hand. As it was probably somewhat rude in some regard or another. This gave her a good look at that gait and that slight grinding noise made K blink slightly. Something she wasn't fully expecting was for Eva to use a kettle to make tea; not because it was improper or anything but as of late a lot of humans came through with different sorts of things. A very popular one would be cooled beverages in large jugs.
That grimace made the renamon furrow her brow just a little bit and she'd rub her muzzle thoughtfully. Just what happened to her friend? She took a moment to think about Eva's simple question and gave a small dip of the head.
"Sugar, two bits should be all right."
The false joviality that the other had put on made way to the sombre undercurrent. There was that subtle pain that K could just feel; every movement honestly looked like it hurt like hell. She wouldn't of blamed the enhanced renamon if they had decided to just stay in bed.
"I've never quite run into a digimon like yourself. Most of us don't... come apart like that. Are you going to be okay?"
The renamon eased over to look at the damaged arm; frowning quietly as she could tell this was an absolute mess. She'd look back at her host with a mix of uncertainty and the desire to aid but...
"I came to check up on you, but.. I wasn't expecting this. I could try to help if you want? I've got a form that might be powerful enough to do so; with a healing ability that might do the trick. Can't say for certain though Eva."

She nodded, finishing the rest of the process, adding two sugars to both K's, and her own cuppa. Picking them up though, seemed to present a problem, Eva's right hand locking in place as she reached for the cup she had prepared for herself after passing K's over. She looked down at it, sighing in frustration, the multi million pound cybernetic refusing to respond. She wasn't a cyberneticist, not even an engineer. She only had the very basics on how her own systems functioned, how they all worked together, thousands of moving parts with their precision engineered synchronicity torn asunder with nought but a hasty improvised bodge or two applied vague hope to breathe life back into their inert humanoid form.
"I guess I'm a lefty from now on then." She said, a sigh on her lips as she sipped from her cup of tea with the arm and hand that still remained somewhat functional.
"I've never quite run into a digimon like yourself. Most of us don't... come apart like that. Are you going to be okay?"
"No, most people don't. Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm okay or not. I can't fix this though, I know that much. I can't make heads or tails of all this stuff, even with all the design documents I could scrounge up. Not that I even have the tools to make the tools to make the components that I'd need"
"I came to check up on you, but.. I wasn't expecting this. I could try to help if you want? I've got a form that might be powerful enough to do so; with a healing ability that might do the trick. Can't say for certain though Eva."
"I tried to see healers before and it didn't do all that much. It's something to do with... all of this. Everything's data here, sure, but this is all human world materials. Carbon fibre, titanium, carbon nanotubes, graphene and god knows what else. You're certainly welcome to try though, I'm sure as hell not in a position to turn any help down right now."

K didn't really understand what she was seeing here on the table. She wasn't really sure what she could do but there had to be something that the renamon could do right? Something that she could try with her friend? To try to make things work or such. She accepted the cup that eva gave to her; blinking quietly at seeing her hand lock up. It must of been incredibly frustrating for the renamon to have to deal with this on her own.
"Not... if we figure something out."
The renamon blinked a little bit and leaned slightly; sipping at the tea as eva answered her prods with a touch of information. She'd frown fully at hearing that eva couldn't make heads or tails of it. If they couldn't what chance did Eva have? K scratched her neck awkwardly and stared up at eva with a curious but contemplative look on her face.
"Finding a Digital mechanic might be your best bet, Terminus is one of the most advanced cities in the digital world. They might have something that they can help with. There are robotic digimon out there; some advanced some not."
The renamon would set down her tea cup after briskly finishing it. She certainly liked the flavor that Eva picked for her. That sugar itself was a god send and she could feel her core pick up just a little bit from it.
"What... kind of healers exactly? Like how strong would you say they were?"
She'd hesitate for a moment and fidget just a touch; there was a part of her that was extremely nervous about trying this for her friend. If the people that tried healing were strong enough just what chance did she have?
"There's not many healers capable of a super mega form with healing like I have. It's rare as many are just pure destructive force; I've only met one that was more defensive than offensive. But I think it's also the best chance you might have for a more immediate solution. You'll need to hold your arm in place it might be able to connect it."

"Finding a Digital mechanic might be your best bet, Terminus is one of the most advanced cities in the digital world. They might have something that they can help with. There are robotic digimon out there; some advanced some not."
"I looked." She said, sitting down heavily at the table. "I looked god damn everywhere. Human technology is different from what you'd find on a robotic digimon. It was made by their hands, it follows their laws of physics. Their laws of reality." She reached over, picking up some sort of device from the table, holding it and flipping it idly over and over in her hand.
K's next query and suggestion though got a raised eyebrow from the cyborg, as she slowly put the ruined piece of equipment back down. "I'm not sure how "strong" they were. They seemed qualified enough, but, all their efforts did was fix a few surface scuffs in the carbon fibre and hairline cracks in the frame. It's certainly worth a shot though. If we can get my left eye working too, I could bring my HUD back online and actually see what's working and what isn't."

"And no luck with that... that's not good."
The renamon shook her head a little bit and sighed, crossing her arms a little bit. She wasn't sure exactly what was going on with the... The renamon stopped, blinked and stared quietly at the renamon sitting on the table. There was a very surprised look etched on her face and K leaned just a little bit to stare even more curiously at Eva.
"Made by their hands? Are you saying...?"
This was something that the renamon didn't really know much about, the other had skirted around the question of her origins a lot and K doubted that she would ever really get any actual information out of the other. She didn't mind secrets and the such but when it seemed to come up so often she couldn't help but get curious.
"The sheer amount of effort that would go into this likely would heal more than just your eye Eva. I haven't had to use it on someone as hurt as yourself before but... I think it might do a lot for you. I actually hope it does."
The renamon leaned a little bit and would of gently patted the other's shoulder but she refrained as she knew how badly they were hurt.
"Also.. when I do digivolve into this, for a short time there won't be any sound so uh... get ready for that. But I'll for the most part only be in it to use that move and hopefully not too many people notice a super mega cropping up in the middle of a city for a brief moment."

"Made by their hands? What are you saying...?"
"As in humans built these cybernetics. From scratch. It's not like I popped out of a digiegg like this, these things have to be assembled, manufactured. Built." She paused, thinking for a second. "Not that I remember that. Coming out of an egg, that is. If that's even a thing people typically recall. I'm not sure if I am made up of copied data somehow, or, maybe I was someone before this happened. Something something NanoWerx Industries quantum computing experiments. I was dragged there by accident. If I had memories before, they're gone now."
She tensed up for a moment at the pat on the shoulder, the strange mashup of jagged pixelated vector lines that once made up her HUD flickering red for just a moment, as if trying desperately to signify something. "Hey, as I said it's worth a shot. Not like anything else has worked so far. Wait. Are you even going to be able to fit in here?"

K sat there quietly as the other explained out that humans had built those cybernetics, from scratch. That she had not come with these attached to her and that these things were manufactured... K herself didn't know what it was like coming out of an egg. She had just 'appeared' one day in the frozen north. Not even sure if she truly had been born or simply was willed into being. She'd look down at her hands quietly for a few moments and simply dipped her head in a nod.
"I see. I didn't know... or expect something like that. Says a lot about humans that's... for sure."
She didn't know what to say about the fact that the other didn't have memories; or the fact that if she did they would of been gone by now. She knew how that was; somewhat. She was still getting bouts of memories from when she was an innkeeper for all those years. A truly peaceful life crested by little things here and there.
"The form I'm going to use might have their head scrape against the top of the ceiling. But as it is, I'll be kneeling when I digivolve so that won't be a problem. Just... be ready."
The renamon gave a small little smile and shifted so that she was just a little way from the table. Taking a moment to kneel she'd exhale slowly and let that gentle light of digivolution take her form. It was maybe a few moments of exhilaration for herself, but to Eva she would see that form grow and shift. Growing more muscled, stronger, armored. The sort of thing you'd expect to see from a warrior that has gone through their paces.
Her visor was the last thing to snap into place by the time the gentle light was gone. As was the fact that there was simple a lack of sound. It was all encompassing next to the sensation of being close to something so powerful if Eva herself could feel that.
The creature in front of her wouldn't waste time. She'd drop her visor down and gently open her mouth. A miniature recreation of the northern lights dancing through the apartment, streaming out of the windows for all but of a moment. Two wisps both equal in strength danced down from inside of the lights. One went to Eva and the other started to go to K but after simply pushing it away with a gauntleted hand it'd ease over to the Cybernetic Renamon.
She'd have maybe a few moments before they both touched her and bestowed such a powerful healing effect it would rush through that body one way or another. K herself had to take a few moments herself to re-orientate herself as this form's senses defied all logic and reason. Not to mention the physical want to move and be in colder places...

The "healing" effect was instant, though, not what K might have been expecting. The waves of light rolled and played over Eva's entire body, her cybernetics slowly rebuilding, slowly piecing themselves back together with, cold, clinical mechanical clicking and whirring as each came back online in a rapid cascade, not that anyone could have heard that, of course. For the first few seconds, it looked like all was well, even the minuscule weave of the carbon fibre glowing, radiating with a soft gold orange light coalescing around its fractured jagged edges like burning steel wool. Then, all was sudden darkness. At least, that's all Eva saw and felt. Her HUD gave a brief flicker, a brief desperate attempt to warn its host before winking out of existence along with any other sensation, sight, sound, or thought that there could be. K though, would have seen a lot more. She would have seen Eva tense firm for a moment, before falling limp, tumbling off the side of her chair and hitting the floor hard, lying there completely motionless.

To say the least K was relieved to see that the cybernetics on eva's body were rebuilding. Piecing themselves back together slowly in a fashion others might call somewhat forced. The OmegaShutmon's ears flicked quietly as she watched her 'patient' for a few brief moments. That soft glow from the other piquing her interest something fierce. She didn't know what was going on in the inside of eva, she didn't know what else could of been damaged but she earnestly had hoped her healing ability would of taken care of it.
When eva tensed up K quickly stood, her head scuffing against the ceiling making her wince. She missed the chance there to grab her friend and saving them from hitting the floor. Her friend was laying motionless on the floor and all she could do was stand there gawking?
Her form collapsed in on itself, something far more weaker most certainly. But at least with that she could maneuver a little better and wouldn't leave a freezing trail if she moved around. Just a regular shutmon as she wasn't sure how much her friend weighed.
"Oh sovereigns..."
The shutmon let out a curse and moved to pick up eva, hurrying her over to the couch. There wasn't much that she could check that she knew of. Was Eva still breathing? How were her cybernetics looking now? The shutmon bit her lower lip, scanning over her friend quietly. She had experience dealing with digimon that were injured yes but Eva was simply different and would defy many expectations.

She didn't weigh much. In fact, if anything she was lighter than a regular Renamon. Curiously though, she felt very warm to the touch. Hot in fact, especially over her cybernetics that were typically just cold machinery. She didn't move for a while, just lying there still on the couch staring blankly into the ceiling with blank unfocused eyes, taking shallow shaky breaths with long pauses between each one.
The seconds rolled on. Then minutes. If K was in fact timing proceedings it took a further five minutes and thirteen seconds for Eva to once again start showing signs of life. A slight twitch of her right hand, the apertures and lenses in her eyes shifting, refocusing with a near inaudible whirr. Save for being passed out on the sofa, Eva did actually look a whole lot better. Everything was back in place, every component, every little detail down to the last screw and last carbon fibre panel, their black surfaces shimmering with their normal dull sheen now free of scuffs and scratches. The floor on the other hand could have done with a tidy up, now covered in zip ties and duct tape from the cyborg's more improvised repairs that had fallen free during the whole process, fluttering down to the ground as everything clicked back into place.
Another two minutes crawled past. Still nothing save some minor movement, likely from some sort of automated systems until finally, Eva took a gasping breath, coughing a few times and rolling off the sofa, landing on her hands and knees as she tried to catch her breath.

Honestly K was surprised at the fact that Eva didn't weigh all too much; she in fact was much lighter than she expected. It thankfully made it easier to carry them but that wamrth that Eva was putting off made it awkward to touch her for too long. K would fret over the other renamon, trying to figure out what was wrong or what she should do. But honestly in all sorts; just waiting seemed like the best idea. After seeing those blank unfocused eyes, and those shallow breaths all the Shutmon could do was make sure the other was comfortable.
She wasn't counting the minutes, but she did watch. With increasing worry and such. She was about to consider calling a friend of hers to see if they could do something about them when Eva started to shift again. The slight twitch, the shifting of her lenses and apertures. To a human most of this noise would seem faint, but to a ultimate well... It was as clear as day. It took a little bit for the shutmon to process that the other looked a lot better. Had her healing ability really done that much? The shutmon scooped up the stuff on the floor casting about for a garbage can to throw them away in.
She'd fidget nervously as the time continued to crawl on. There was that gasping breath that made the shutmon perk up and she'd quickly come over to the other. A large hand gently placing itself on the back of the renamon, trying to help coax the other's breathing with a small rub.
"Eva? Are you okay? You had... me a bit worried there."
