Wrong Place, Right Time (Johan/Buck)

A Digital World, huh? Johan had learned of this world from his newly found partner, Dokamon, over two weeks ago, back when he was still in America. After many rumors heard about this place, Johan knew he just had to find it for himself.
"So... there's just a train station that takes you to the Digital World here?" Johan asked his partner Dokamon while he was in the V-Pet, holding up his Digivice like a phone.
"It's hidden, so it is not easily accessible to humans. Only humans like you, with a Digivice, can be able to even access the elevator that takes you down to it."
"Alright then... do you happen to know where this thing is- wait, nevermind, I see something." Johan put the Digivice in his pocket and, after pushing past a bunch of people, went up to this weird scanner device. It looked like it was for Digivices...
Johan decided to take out his Digivice and put it onto the scanner. To his surprise, there was a loud beeping noise, and the locked platform just... opened up! Slowly taking his Digivice back, Johan slowly walked onto the platform in complete awe...

And then there was Buck. Normally this boy would ride the train either straight home from school or to the home of one of his many friends, but those plans were spoiled at the Shibuya Train Terminal stop. Buck's friend got a call from his mother, and Buck was able to use his Japanese skills to figure out that the friend's father was not happy with her daughter (and he could hear every word just because she was yelling so loud over the phone). Buck took it in stride, though, promising to hang out with his buddy another time. "I'll just hop trains and go home, Kiko. No big deal! Hope you make it out alive!" he managed to banter with his friend with an easygoing grin and perfect Japanese.
So Buck disembarked and intended to get himself onto another train, but he caught the sight of another kid moving with a real purpose and looking like he didn't want to be followed. So, naturally, Buck had to follow him. It's not like I'm in a rush. Mom and Dad aren't even expecting me until 7 anyway. Buck stood like just another member of the crowd as he subtlely watched Johan access the hidden area. He tried to look past the stranger to see what was inside, but the door just closed too quickly for that. Weird...
Buck was curious enough to approach the door then and look at the scanner; what ever machine that other kid had held up to it wasn't one Buck recognized, but he knew he didn't have one. Huh... Maybe this is just one of those mysteries that doesn't get solved. Can't be that interesting, can it? Buck reached up to curiously touch the scanner with his hand before completely resigning himself, though... and that's when things got weird. Inches before Buck's empty hand touched the scanner, it was no longer empty.
Buck watched and gasped as a similar device to that first kid's just- It- what? It just, like appeared there! Buck was not fast enough to stop his hand from continuing to push forward until the machine was against the scanner. In that same moment, Buck caught the same beeping as before, and the door opened for him. "No way!" He knew it would close fast, though, so he darted through it with haste, making it through successfully. "Whoa." Then, at long last, he peered around at what was behind such a secure entryway.

When Johan first entered the door, what was on the otherside just seemed to be a generic hallway, which lead straight to an elevator. "Okay, I was honestly not expecting this..."
After the door closed, Dokamon came out of Johan's Digivice on his own, and formed right next to him. "What are you waiting for, Johan?"
"Dokamon?! I don't think you're supposed to be out here yet!"
"Only Digidestined like you can even think about getting in here. If anyone were to come in, they'd most likely already know about Digimon already."
"Yeah... I suppose you're right..." Johan looked up, towards the mysterious elevator. Taking a deep breath, he began to walk towards it and pressed the button, causing the elevator doors to open up. That's when the door behind them opened up once again, and Johan turned around to see who was walking in. To his knowledge, it was another kid his age. "Hello?"

"Uh- oh!" Buck startled when he realized he was caught following that stranger, and that's why he froze like a deer in headlights upon contact. Oddly, the older guy didn't seem real concerned about getting caught, though, or the fact that Buck was definitely not authorized personnel in an authorized personnel-only type of situation.
"Uh, hey! Hi!" Buck greeted as he tried to break the silence and walked forward with a nervous grin. "Ha, something tells me I'm in the wrong spot. I was looking for the Shibuya Green Line when-" The boy stopped a few feet out from normal conversational distance, though, when realized that the little thing beside the stranger had moved. He knew he caught eye movement and breath. That thing's alive? Buck reasoned, Must be one of those crazy dressed-up dogs that are popular in this country, So Buck wisely changed the subject away from his trespassing to, "Hey, uh, I'm gonna go, but, just curious: what kind of dog is that?" Even though he was still holding his shiny new D-3 in his hand for Johan to see, he'd probably just given away how much he really knew about where he was.

Johan had to admit, it WAS kind of awkward for this kid to just suddenly walk in without warning. He trusted Dokamon earlier, but even Dokamon was confused by this arrival.
"Oh, it's no big deal, really!" Johan said in the nicest way he could, trying to calm the kid down. "I honestly just was not expecting anyone to come down here. I'm just discovering this place for the first time myself, as well."
Both Johan and Dokamon noticed that this kid was holding a D-3 in his hand. Of course he'd have one, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to get into this section of the train terminal. However, it was obvious that he didn't know what Digimon were yet, otherwise he wouldn't have mistaken Dokamon for a dog.
Dokamon decided to walk out and approach the kid, although he still stayed by the elevator. "If you managed to get in here, I think you should come with us."

"What the-!" Buck jumped back when he heard the 'dog' speak plainly, once again putting distance between the pair and himself. "That thing talks?" Buck only then remembered he was dealing with a creature who could speak plain human language, which probably meant he could understand it, too. So, the boy attempted to amend himself, "I mean... you talk?" with a more courteous tone. Before stepping forward, though, the younger boy glanced at the phone in his pocket for the time. I've got hours... still not in a rush. Plus... Buck didn't finish his own thought, but he did glance at the strange machine that had just appeared in the air for him. "Alright, little guy... I'll bite." Buck rather blatantly stared at the little digimon as he walked forward again, stepped into the elevator, and waited for the stranger.
"Name's Buck," the boy introduced for the sake of politeness before asking Johan, "So do you at least know where we're going if you don't know where we are?" He then knelt down to the digimon's level with that grin of his back, only now it was a bit friendlier and even somewhat calmer. "And, eh, what kind of not-a-dog are ya?"

Wow, Johan thought, seeing Buck's reaction to Dokamon talking, he took meeting Dokamon a hell of a lot better than I did.
"Yes, I do indeed talk," Dokamon says, rolling his eyes as if he was just stating the most obvious thing ever. "Now are you coming along with us or not?"
Eventually, the boy did give in and get onto the elevator, with both Johan and Dokamon following shortly after. The boy introduced himself as Buck. "Heh, so you're a foreigner like me?" Johan asked with a British accent. "My name is Johan Walker. It's a pleasure to meet you."
"My name is Dokamon," The blue robotic Digimon introduced himself, extending a hand out to Buck to shake. "I am what's known as a Digimon. And once we get to where we're going, you'll understand what we are."
The elevator continued to descend until it finally stopped, opening its doors to reveal six or seven different train stations, two of which currently still had trains occupied.

"Somehow, I doubt that," Buck quipped as he shook Dokamon's metal hand. Despite his words, he never lost that smile of his.
As the elevator sank into the ground, Buck gave the same gesture to Johan. "Cool to meet you! Yeah, I'm from Canada. British Columbia. I'd tell you my town, but you definitely haven't heard of it." That was about when the doors open, but Buck wasn't done chatting yet. "Tokyo is huge compared to where I'm from! You could probably fit a thousand of my town in this place. It kinda stinks I can't go hunting with Dad whenever I want anymore, but, hey, it's cool to meet another foreigner! Even if, you know, you're obviously from somewhere else. England, I guess." Only after saying his entire piece did he look around this lower floor beneath the main station. "So, eh, this isn't it, is it? Just looks like another train station, and I still don't know what a 'digimon' is!" At this point, the great attitude Buck was taking this all with almost seemed concerning, but, hey, this was like the kind of stuff he'd seen on TV!

"Trust me, all will be understood soon," Dokamon said as he gave a surprisingly warm smile... to both Buck and Johan.
After the elevator doors opened, Johan and Dokamon both observed the new area they were in... and both completely ignored Buck's ramblings. Dokamon wanted to give a sucker punch to Buck, to tell him to just shut up, but Johan stopped him. "Not a good idea, Dokamon..."
Buck made a complete guess on where Johan was from. "Actually no, I'm from America, although both my parents moved there from Kensington, so that explains the accent."
Johan decided that these trains must be trains headed straight to the Digital World. He spotted a bronze colored train and motioned for the others to get on. However, as they got onboard, the three of them suddenly heard a voice speak.
"ALL ABOOOOOOOARD!"
Johan felt a slight bit of motion beneath his feet. He looked out the window of the train, and saw that the platform they were on was moving away at a high speed! Now all they could see was blackness surrounding them...

"Huh?" When the train's last call sounded, the newly initiated Tamer thought that voice sounded awfully odd in the fact that there was no treble-heavy distortion of it as there normally should be from speakers, and yet at the same time Buck could clearly make out that the sound was coming straight from the train. He couldn't find a conductor or some such to have shouted either, but the boy supposed he likely just heard one but didn't see one. Buck had other things to worry about, like the fact the odd passengers - odd even considering the usual afternoon subway crowd.
Apparently, 'digimon' did not all look like Dokamon, Buck quickly learned; all around there were digimon of various shapes and sizes sitting interspersed with other humans who treated it like the most normal thing in the world! When one frog digimon walked past, Gekomon, Buck backed away even though the digimon hardly acknowledged him. "OOOOK... Now this is getting weird." Finally, the boy seemed to be showing signs of uncertainty. "Johan? Dokamon? There's one thing you didn't actually tell." The boy looked out the window then and began to visibly breathe a little harder. "Where does this train actually go?"

"Okay... where did that voice come from?" Johan asked, slightly concerned.
"That voice came from the Trailmon," Dokamon simply says. "Just making sure all the passengers were on board before taking off."
"This train is a Digimon itself?!" That's when even Johan noticed the various Digimon on the train. Mainly rookies and champions, but of course Johan didn't know those terms yet. To him, it was a bunch of frogs, mini dragons, and sentient flowers all making up the passengers on the train.
The Trailmon seemed to be getting faster... and faster... and FASTER! Johan and Dokamon took their seats, leaving some room for Buck to sit down as well. That's when Buck asked WHERE this train was going.
"Hold on to something... we're about to enter the Digital World."
Sure enough, as soon as they left that tunnel, the first thing they saw was a giant flying orange bird right by the window. They had just entered the Digital World...

The sight of the giant bird flying parallel to the train made the Tamer initiate jump back away from the window, but he never took his eyes off of it. On the contrary, the boy's mouth was open as wide as his eyes, not from fear but from awe. "No way..." After the initial shock, he looked out the window to find that the trains tracks were suspended way high off the ground, which made enough sense given the bird outside. From this view he could see a lot of wild terrain, but what really surprised Buck was the one interruption to it that he could see: a grand city.
Buck was at least glad to see he wasn't the only one on the train floored by the experience; there were one or two other kids on it who seemed just as shocked as he did. "Welcome... to Jurassic Park," Buck whispered himself, invoking the only phrase he could think of to associate with such a sight and feeling.
Trailmon was traveling downhill to descend into the city, and as much as Buck wanted to keep standing up, he had to sit down to keep from instead falling down as the angle gradually got sharper. "Guys! Dokamon! Johan! This is-" Buck's next dialogue wasn't really words so much as gibberish strung together as his mouth acted faster than his brain. The boy needed a moment to gather himself before more coherently stating, "You know, somehow, the alternate world thing makes sense after seeing the whole Digimon thing." He smiled at Johan then. "This is so cool! I mean, I've gotta be home by dinner, but whoa! I'm definitely spending some time here!" It was only around this time that the boy observed the ratio of digimon to humans on the train was almost exactly 1:1. This led him to start guessing out loud, "So... from what I can tell, every human who comes here has a 'digimon' companion or guide or whatever you do, and then... well, that's where I'm lost. But is that right?" Somehow, it seems like he's taken the idea of riding on a living train into an alternate world in stride. "If that's right, does that mean I would- you know?"
