"We've gotten wrapped up in a few missions as well - though some of those might have tipped a bit of the otherworldly scale. Something about a mountain that was trapped halfway in another dimension?" Yeah, that was a fun story to tell - heck, he wouldn't mind getting into explaining it at some point!
Hypotheticals about floating islands aside, it wouldn't take them long to get back to the garage. Giving a small smirk as Amelie reaceted with a smile, Luke would step on closer, wanting to inspect the vehicle himself. "This is far from an all-rounder - this bike's a speed demon." He even had to show his credentials with the mission guild to even get this engine approved - meaning it would never hit the showroom floor - but boy was it worth it. "Should it go by the design, this should be able to outrace most megas if I pump the nitro."
So, she was a bit off in that remark, but at least this piece of tech had a bit of personality to it! "Honestly, looking forward to taking this one for a spin." At that note, he looked up, and motioned to that new chair being pulled along by a cart: "What I was going on before, the seat. In a vehicle, you don't feel the 'speed' unless you're speeding up, slowing down, or turning, so its pretty easy to forget just how much force you're running. The nitro hits it quick both ways, meaning the whole force of the car's suddenly running through the system. And if the seat's not fitted right, it means you'd be bracing it on your leg..."
Yeah, that didn't sound pleasant. Luke blinked, though, realizing he went on a bit of a tangent there. "Er, sorry about that. And this might come across as a bit sudden, but, do you want to exchange numbers?"

Well, that was a bit more or less expected! Amelie herself could already say that she had gotten into a fair bit of weirdness, and she had been in this world for way less time than both Luke and Iko.
"Getting to yet another dimension sounds like quite the adventure." That much she had to admit. "But at least it seemed to have a successful endeavor. That's always nice." Then again, the details were probably way more... complex, given the very nature of what had happened. But delving into that was probably going on a tangent, and definitely, something to be had in mind... later.
Understanding that ride was an interesting endeavor. "A speed demon, huh? I guess that's exciting in its own way, even though I've never been a fan of going too quickly. But I can see how appealing that can be. Outrunning megas should be pretty neat, though! Not something I'd mind doing if I were really in a hurry."
Least to say, the brunette was more than a little bit excited. "I guess that the so-called 'moment of truth' is really the most interesting part when building your own ride. Can't wait to see it in action, either!"
That bit of information about the nitro was interesting; definitely something the teenager would take into account going forward. How a car could affect one's physical condition was as interesting as it came and also quite dangerous, apparently. Definitely something to take note of... if she wanted to keep her legs intact, that is.
How the topic changed so quickly, and how plainly she was asked so plainly managed to make Amy blink twice, apparently a bit confused. That was a bit sudden! But it wasn't like she minded. Her hand dug into her jacket's pocket, taking out a D-Terminal that was promptly offered to Luke. "Feel free to add yourself to the contact list."
For some time, she had figured this was the easiest method to exchange contact information; no way to get a name or an address wrong. In exchange, of course, she expected the same gesture from her peer.

"You'd think so, but there was so much of a storm blowing around it was hard to make anything out anyway. And by the time it was all sorted, everything was put back into place - didn't really get any time to see much of it." Sheesh, that story fell flat on its face, didn't it? Still, it all worked out in the end...
... And the bike was far more interesting at the moment, anyway! It seemed Amelie wasn't much for speed, but could at least appreciate the purpose: "Well, there's portals if you're just in a hurry, but where's the fun in that, right?" And yes, Luke wanted to kick this thing into gear as soon as he could - perhaps a ride while Amelie was getting used to her own vehicle? It was one thing to get a license in the human world, but these vehicles were monsters in their own right!
Physics aside - and Amelie seemed far more interested than Luke first expected - it didn't take long to exchange numbers. Giving a nod, he'd pull out his own D-Terminal and hand it to Amelie, adding his own info to the spirit wielder's D-Terminal. For good measure, when he got his back, he sent his own message, just saying 'Test' to make sure that everything was working both ways.
"Alright, that handles that." Putting the device away, it seemed they both had a little time to kill before the bikes would be ready. Though, it seemed Iko had his fill of the cars, the wolf giving a wave as he made his way back out to the garage. "Got bored in there?"
"Hardly - Sealsdramon thought I was looking to buy that little blue 'buggy' thing. I just gave him the runaround and got my way back here." Seeing both the vehicles in the shop, Iko gave his first proper wave to the spirit wielder.
"Hope this guy hasn't been too much trouble. Heck, he's been bugging me about this all week..."

Welp, that was a bit of a letdown for her. What could've been an epic adventure became something notably plain. It wasn't a thing anyone could complain about
Amelie had to agree on one thing, however; just using portals to get around and those things could be really boring at times. "True enough, but that's kinda why a vehicle focused on being speedy is kind of... redundant, isn't it?" Frankly speaking, she preferred to take a calmer approach. "I'd love to go sightseeing at some point, you know? Get to those places where the Trailmons refuse to go, and experience the Digital World at my own pace." Idealistic, wasn't it? But that was a pretty good reason to get a car, at least for the brunette!
Just like with her gesture, she promptly received Luke's D-Terminal, typed her name and her contact number, then proceeded to hand it back... just to receive a message confirming that the address had been saved correctly.
"Yup, got it." She said with a smile before storing the device back just in time for Iko to return and explain his small adventure with the previously-mentioned salesmon. "Sounds like you two had a fair bit of fun, if you ask me." She mentioned with an amused voice as she waved back.
Truth to be told, could he be blamed? It was his job, more or less. "I don't think it was that troublesome, considering that partially, thanks to him I have a new car, but still..."
The true question was, however... would the car be ready soon? Or even the bike? Either of them being ready would be awesome. Amelie could hardly wait.

"Heh, I guess! Though a portal lacks any of the 'thrill'. And besides, its not like I have to blast it at full throttle all the time." That much was true, and it was probably much easier to handle when it wasn't racing near its capacity! "And that'll be nice too, though a car won't be able to be used everywhere. Well, better to get to the point from where you'll have to hoof it, I guess." It was a good enough reason for Luke as well - and heck, Amelie could even take another one along for the ride.
Numbers handled and store horror stories taken care of, it seemed that the three were set to wait for a bit - and, unfortunately, it would be about another twenty minutes before either vehicle was ready. Off in the background, for both the bike and the car, various parts were swapped out, worked on, or tidied up, giving the three at least a bit of a 'show' to look at while they were waiting. And, as Luke expected - and to Iko's disappointment - it would be Amelie's car that would be ready to go first!
The Andromon, the head mechanic, walked up to the spirit wielder as the car rolled up, offering her the keys to the vehicle. "This'll go right with the Digivice, and the compress system will install itself shortly after. You'll see the rest of the papers on the dash. Congratulations, miss!" As she took the keys, they'd step back, and roll open the entrance to the garage, Luke giving a small chuckle.
"Well, they don't beat around the bush here, do they?"

On that much, Amelie could agree. It was true that portals were an immediate payoff; instant gratification, more or less. And they made you miss the most important part of any journey; what was between the starting point and the destination! Sure, if you were in a hurry that was fine, but otherwise... what you found in the path could be as interesting —if not more— than what awaited at the destination.
A small, silent nod was the answer Luke initially got, shortly followed by a short sigh at the mention of not having to go at breakneck speeds at all times. "That's a relief. I mean, I'd be a hypocrite if I said I don't like going fast at all, but I'm not really a fan of just constantly going like that." Were the brunette's words confusing? Probably, but that kind of things weren't easy to explain
Luke brought a valid point, however. "You're right on cars not being as convenient as bikes, but they have this air of reliability that's hard to replace, you know? Maybe I'm being silly, but I feel safer being over four wheels than two." Was that a preconceived notion? Yeah, but also more or less what she just felt at moment; Not like any blame could fall on her, right?
Surprisingly enough, her car seemed to have been the first one to exit modifications, and Amy could admit that, somehow, it looked even more gorgeous than before. Maybe it was due to the fact that it had been modified with none else than her in mind? Hard to guess!
What was rather obvious was the positively huge smile gracing her face at the moment. She took the keys with an excited expression, almost jumping in her place at the notion of finally getting to test her baby.
Annnd, that kinda made Amelie forget she wasn't alone. Luke was still there and still waiting for his ride to be ready. "Um." A bit of an awkward pause ensued. "I'll get the rest of the paperwork ready and wait for you outside, if you wanna do a test drive. Catch you in a bit!"
Well, at least that was if he wanted to do that; if not, the teenager figured she'd eventually get a message to her D-Terminal or something of the like. For now... it was time to finish setting everything up!

"Well, its a trade-off. I can have Iko tag along in Rookie, but its not as if I could easily get two people on the bike - and go at full speed, anyway." Meanwhile, Amelie could have any other passenger she wanted - and heck, enough room to actually pack for a trip, or even just extras like emergency fuel. There was definitely a merit to having a four-wheeler, even if there weren't a lot of places to park it!
Still, the light in Amelie's eyes couldn't be denied - and at the note of waiting for Luke's ride to be ready, he gave a chuckle and a nod. "Alright, shouldn't be much longer myself - I'll see you in ten minutes or so?" Letting Amelie head out first, he proceeded to wait, Iko giving a sigh: "You could have just swung a ride with/i] her, you know."
"Eh. Kinda want to see how she handles on the road. These things are much more powerful than ones on our side..."
True enough, but it wasn't as if there was much traffic on this side, either. Another ten or so minutes, and the garage door would open up again - and this time, Luke's vehicle was finally ready, the hover bike easily pulling out onto the dusty flatlands. Helmet and visor affixed, he'd pull up next to Amelie, and give a short wave.
"Just checkin' these out for now, right? Where to?"

Of course, Amelie wasn't going to wait until Luke was done to at least get herself familiarized with her new car; checking the new systems and making sure everything was in order, all while trying some of the less taxing things that this machine could do.
To say the least, everything that this car could do was pretty impressive, and while the brunette wasn't an expert driver by any means, the interface was friendly enough for her to pick up the basics relatively quickly. At least she thought she wouldn't suddenly crash her machine due to ignorance any time soon. And that was a pretty big relief.
Eventually, Luke came back on top of his own ride, prompting a small smile from the teenager as her car's window lowered. "Checking out sounds fine; I'm still getting used to this." She informed, adopting a thoughtful posture some time afterward. "Regarding the destination, I have no idea; there's no place where I ought to be at the moment so... I'm open to any suggestions, if you have any!"
Truthfully, she wasn't entirely sure on where to go from here, but... she supposed that was fine. There was no hurry, as far as she knew.

Ignorance, likely not, but the sheer power behind these vehicles made them feel quite different between cruising them and putting the pedal to the metal. Granted, there was rarely a need for the latter case, and at least for this initial 'test', Luke had no intent to push the machine that far.
As for where to go? Honestly, Luke didn't have a particular area in mind, nor did he really know the spacing between any two major locations in the Digital World. Giving it a shrug, he gave a simple suggestion: "Two or three times around the city should do. We could break off on the last lap and check out that plateau off to the West, or something."
May as well, right? Whatever Amelie decided (so long as it was in the area), Luke would be for it. And once that was decided, Luke would rev his engine, give a kick off, and feel that engine purr. As it was set up, this entire vehicle was built for speed - and even at the brisk pace he started off at, everything just felt perfect. The weight, the feel, the handling - it all seemed to just 'click' into place. The only downside, he could figure, was the sand being kicked up by the hover.
Thankfully, he realized this before he moved too far. Letting Amelie lead - so as to not damage that fresh paint - he'd follow right along in pace.
Really, driving cars in the Digital World? This was the last thing Luke expected to do out here!

Luke seemed to have a fantastic idea, at least in regards to what Amelie thought. "Three times around the city and then check off the nearby pleteau, huh?" She gave a slight nod to the proposal. "Sounds good to me. Let's do it!"
The window slowly lowered, the brunette making sure to check all the security measures were in place before preparing for a more strenuous test; she wasn't going to pull the proverbial 'pedal to the metal', but going twice or thrice as fast than before was definitely going to be something pretty interesting.
Engines revving and... time to go! The teenager had to admit that driving a car like this felt somewhat... easy, in a sense; the advanced technology of the Digital World made navigation easier, and the fact that she wasn't fighting with most kinds of traffic really helped.
Her confidence grew. May as well test some of the... interesting features at this speed, right? By the third lap, the car took to the skies, providing an implied shortcut to the plateau they wanted to check out. Driving on three dimensions rather than two definitely felt... weird, but it was definitely exhilarating!
Once the journey was over, the car would halt on a comfortable section of the plateau, Amy finally getting out of the machine, and if Luke wasn't already there, wait for him.
"Well, that was an exciting trip!" That much she could say, even if the car wasn't pushed to its limits. But that would be too harsh on something that had been recently bought, wouldn't it? "Definitely not regretting buying this."
A small crept through her face. She couldn't she wasn't satisfied.

Well, a car definitely had a similar balance to its counterpart in the human world, but Luke never tried piloting a hoverbike before! And the experience was 'easier than it could have been, but harder than one would have liked'. It would have been difficult to tell on just a simple track or even from an outside view, but balance was a little tricky to figure out - at least for the first lap or so.
By the second, Luke was trusting himself more on the turns, and by the third, he more or less had a handle on it! Quickly learning to trust the machine and the careful balance this custom vehicle had put into it, Luke gave a grin under his helmet... only to see Amelie take off towards the sky! Well, that was one thing his own bike couldn't quite pull off...
... But, heck, it gave Luke time to try something else. He didn't quite hit the nitro just yet, but it was time to put that specialized engine to the test: giving a full rev, that motor roared out from below, and quickly tore its way across the road, quite the dust trail left behind him as he blazed his way up the hill! It definitely wasn't as direct - but Amelie would only have to wait two minutes before the bike would finally pull itself around.
That said, it left the vivid scenery below a bit of a dust-bowl, Luke giving a laugh as he pulled himself off the bike! "Maybe I took it a bit too hard there - but boy, can that bike go." He gave a chuckle - as Iko, a bit dazed, climbed as a squirrel up onto his shoulder.
"We'll have to find a better seating arrangement than the right cargo hold if you have to go that fast." Giving a huff, Iko looked away, as Luke gave a nervous chuckle.
"Sorry about that..." Taking off his helmet, he gave a grin back towards Amelie. "Heh. We'll have to do this again sometime - maybe with more of a destination in mind?"

It seems that she hadn't been the only one who had a lot of fun in this small test drive; Luke seemed to be quite satisfied with his machine's performance, that being as clear as the sunny day over them. His smile was a bit contagious even though the Iko might probably disagree with that statement.
"Definitely! I'd say that neither vehicle disappointed, and... considering how much they're worth, that's a bit of a relief." She couldn't say a lot about her friend's bike besides being devilishly fast, but at least on the brunette's stead, her vehicle had proven to be both fast and reliable. And that was something that made her happy. "You'll definitely have to work on how to get Iko with you, though. Seems like he had a bit of a bad time, if you ask me."
That had been kinda obvious, unlike the question that came next. A thoughtful expression was followed by a gentle smile; it sounded like an interesting proposal, to say the least. "Sure thing; I don't know anyone else with a car, and driving alone can be a bit of a drag, so doing this again would probably be pretty fun! Except that I have no idea about a fixed destination... yet."
Honestly, she didn't know where to go from here, but... at least now, she knew that if she wanted to go anywhere, she could.
And that had a lot of value, didn't it?

Right - taking Iko along for the ride likely wasn't going to be something that would happen more than once. Even as Amelie made her rather obvious statement, the squirrel shot a glare back towards the tamer, from the corner of his eye. A solution for this? "A V-Pet upgrade should do the trick..."
"Well. Lesser of two evils, I guess." That problem more-or-less solved, it seemed that this was the start of something, even if Luke, Iko, nor Amelie knew quite what that was yet. "Well, that's just a matter of finding it... or making it up as we go along, right?" Still, Luke couldn't hang around her forever: "But we'll keep in touch. Unfortunately, we were just trying to squeeze this in. I do need to get back to the 'other side' in an hour or so - need to normalize myself to time in the real world before I hit the books. I'll see you around!"
He'd offer a handshake - and shortly after, he'd reach for his Digivice, to both recall the vehicle and open a portal, back to Shibuya.
"... Then why did we need a bike at all?"
[Exit]

Apparently, the bike itself had its fair share of when regarding the mobilization of beings that weren't its driver. In a sense, Amelie was glad that she had bought something as stout as sturdy as a two-seater, even though she could probably upgrade it down the line to something bigger if she wanted to.
The question is, however... is it worth it? Only time would tell! For now, she was sure to enjoy her car for as long as it lasted; too early to think about changing it when she had just gotten it, after all!
Goodbyes were simple enough; a hand was offered, said hand being taken and shook, Amy smiling as they parted ways, Luke disappearing into a portal as the brunette sighed, then got into the car yet again.
As she started the engine and took into the skies, she honestly had no idea where she was going. Only that it wasn't the Human World. [Exit]
