Returning Home...ish [Ami]

Being back in the human world was quite a relief to the Spirit of Wind. Having spent over a month healing from her severe damages followed by a few weeks of tracking down Red, Vika was mentally exhausted. She craved a sense of familiarity and needed some downtime to compose herself.
Which is why it was strange the Canadian citizen was currently strolling the streets of Japan.
"This area is called "Shibuya"." the Hawkmon at her side explained from behind his holosuit cover. For being a device reliant on stealth, the dark-skinned gentleman certainly stood out in the sea of people shuffling around him. The blonde Caucasian girl was not handling herself much better in that department. Especially not with the volume of her voice.
"So a lot of activity comes from here, right?" a clearly overcompensating voice emerged from Vika. At the very least she was not wearing her personal jersey and had instead opted for her spring jacket and knee-length shorts. The Spirit User marched forward stubbornly through the rush-hour crowd while paying little mind to those who bumped into her (or vice-versa). "We can probably meet some interesting people here, don't you think?"
"Is that really the best course of action right now, Vika? You should be resting at home; you were only back for a few minutes." her friend answered from a few steps behind. A few people moved in between the two and continued to push the Spirit further away from him. This wasn't good; they couldn't get seperated in an unknown city. If this place was as great a source of Digimon as Red had heard...well, the Wind Spirit could get into some trouble.
Not that she needed a reason to get into trouble in general.
Vika continued to move further and further ahead, seemingly without realizing the holo-suited Digimon was being left behind. With a flurry of "excuse me" and "sorry", he managed to catch up with the girl as she stopped at the entrance to what appeared to be a gigantic mall. Definitely bigger than anything in her hometown, at least. Hm...that height seemed...yes, it would do perfectly! The compact feathered-glasses-case was opened as Vika turned away from the crowd as best she could by rounding a corner. As she did so, a familiar green hoverboard was drawn out of the much-too-small case.
"You think there's stairs to the roof?"

"Ami, why are we here again?"
The whispered question came from Ami's backpack, the rabbit Digimon once more posing as a stuffed animal. Although the two had purchased a holosuit, Valeria had found that she preferred 'hiding in plain sight'. It worked well enough, the Tamer blending easily with the Japanese crowd, Ami with a phone pressed to her ear to talk to her partner more naturally.
"Valeria, we're just here to relax a bit," Ami whispered back. "After all of the crazy things that have happened lately, well, I just want to shop and take a break."
"Hm." The rabbit huffed, slipping back into the backpack: "A break for you, maybe. I can't even walk around outside of your home."
"We'll be back soon, I promise. For now, let's- hm?"
"Hm? Hm what?"
'Hm, what' indeed! With a blink, Ami looked up and saw a familiar-looking person that definitely stood out of this crowd (blonde hair wasn't a common sight). She swore that she knew her from somewhere, but before she could get a clear look, she and someone else slipped straight out of the crowd! "... One second." Ami hung up on the non-existent call, and, as the other person did a few moments ago, pushed through the crowd, following straight after that other person.
Only after turning the corner (and slipping out of the crowd) did Ami finally catch a better glance of the other person: "Ah, hi!"
Vika! Yes, Ami remembered her from a few unfortunate escapades, from that police incident in Luminas to that Wind Temple. But here she was, in a natural environment that wasn't trying to actively maim them! With a smile, Ami stepped around, giving a small bow towards both her and Red. Valeria's head peeked out from the bag, looking towards Vika, in a hushed whisper:
"Are you crazy? Our technology can't be seen here..."
"... Weird to hear you be the voice of reason, bunny." With a small gesture of Ami's head, Valeria rolled her eyes, and once more slipped out of sight.
"What brings you two here, anyway?"

The answer to her question didn't come from Red. Or even from a male. And it wasn't really an answer to her question. Regardless, it was another familiar voice that called out to Vika within this crowd.
The girl recognized it as Ami's voice a split second before turning around, and snapped her fingers at her own correct guess. "Ami! I haven't seen you in forever!"
Valeria's voice followed from within the Japanese girl's backpack as she scolded Vika about the hoverboard. Or the Infini-Storage. Honestly, both of them counted as Digital World technology and may have been a bad idea to show off here. Though the hoverboard on its own was simply a modified snowboard to any passerby's, at least.
"I'm glad the two of you agree. I fear what she actually plans to use the board for here, especially. But it is indeed nice to see you two again." the holosuited Red added in. He was only slightly miffed that he hadn't been addressed as well, but recalling his disguise it seemed the natural response.
Placing both hands on the top of her board, the girl leaned against the wall of the shopping center. "I always hear so many tamers come in from the station in this town, so I thought I'd check it out. You're the first ones from the Digital World we've met so far though. I kind of figured this place would be crawling with Digimon, you know? Or I'd at least be able to tell something was different. Though everything is kind of different compared to my hometown."
Wait a second...hadn't these two been in some sort of trouble the last time they met? Maybe they were just here to relax too. It was a mall, after all; food to eat, and all that fun stuff. Well Vika could easily modify her plans to help Ami and Valeria relax too.
"You guys want to go hang out on the roof? ...do people do that?"

"I know; its good to see you!"
Indeed, this was quite surprising to see Vika out here. Though, to be fair, about every time that Ami had run into Vika had been somewhat of a surprise - maybe that's how the world wanted them to meet?
As Valeria ducked back down, a familiar voice came from an unfamiliar figure. Blinking, Ami paused for a second, trying to piece it together: "Yes, it is nice to see you... um..."
"Red." Valeria peeked out with a chuckle. "Sort of formal for a holosuit-"
"Says the rabbit who picked one with green hair." With a shrug, she smiled and gave a nod towards Red. "But we are glad to see you two." Ami stopped herself short, holding off on adding the word 'alright' to the end of that sentence: with all the craziness that had happened in the Digital World over the past few months, the girl was more than willing to keep that as far away from her mind as possible
As Vika explained why she came around, Ami gave a nod: "Oh, just be careful not to get swept up in the crowds too much: the cities here can get pretty packed with people. As for Digimon, well... they tend to stay out of sight, you know?"
"Most people aren't ready for talking rabbits... hm? The roof?"
"No, most people don't do that." Ami smirked: "Which is perfect for us. C'mon." A more private place to talk would work wonders, especially for the rabbit. Ami gave a quick look over her shoulder, before backing into a nearby door: a staircase, with roof access to the mall. Four flights of stairs and a surprisingly unlocked door later, the group would find themselves up on the roof, with nothing up here but a metal fence surrounding, and a few large metal boxes designed for air conditioning. And, finally, Valeria climbed out of the back, sitting on Ami's shoulder, shaking out her fur.
"Ugh... finally..."
"So," Ami glanced up, seeing the sky still clear above them, before returning her attention to Vika: "How have you two been?"

[OOC: Only 3 months late?]
"See, I told you it wasn't normal-looking." Vika threw in as Valeria agreed with her sentiment on Red's "disguise". The Wind Spirit wasn't overly concerned with it fitting in, but moreso that she was right about her earlier discussion with the bird way back. Certainly didn't change the fact it suited him very well if he wanted to go around the Digital World as a human.
And honestly, she had expected the Digimon to stay hidden in all honesty. It was really just blind optimism that hoped she would be walking into some sort of movie scene upon entering Shibuya and seeing monsters everywhere; the media would probably go crazy about that. Or at least the Internet.
"Crowds I can do though. Downtown back home if pretty similar. Except in English." she added as she followed the other pair into an access door nearby. The inside appeared desolate in comparison to the brutal sun outside, and there was a distinct "basement smell" to the place. But it was a quick manner of a few stairs (which Red was not used to having to walk up as opposed to fly, and which the Spirit chose to straight run up) before they reached the roof.
"Is this considered normal in the human world?" the holosuited-Hawkmon asked, desperately catching his breath as he emerged from the door behind the others. This form was oddly tiring; perhaps he just wasn't used to it enough yet. Mostly the lack of wings.
To that Vika looked over her shoulder with a smile and "Not really, but I thought it'd be fun." Walking closer to the edge of the roof and peering over, she took in the sight before her. "And it is, so far. It really looks so much like back home here."
With that she returned to Ami and the now-emerged Usagimon. "I think it's the first time in a long time everything's back in place, so pretty damn good. I can't remember the last time we weren't in some sort of panic."
"We partially still are." Red interjected, recalling his status alongside Koneka's as fugitives. In a way many things certainly were better, but they still had their fair share of problems. Hopefully the same was not true of these two.
"You guys seem to be pretty good too. It's nice we can take some time off sometimes, right? Almost as if being there is our job or something."
