Don't stop dancing. Believe you can fly. For most people doing homework actually meant doing their assignments at home, but on this rather mundane day the sixteen year old found himself doing himself doing his homework at the park with two workbooks sitting beside him on a plain wooden bench. He really wasn't sure what prompted him to do his assignments outside rather that in the comforts of his room. Maybe it was to listen to the melodious chirping of the birds flitting about the seemingly endless blue sky. Still he had a good look of the sky from the window in his room and he could sometimes hear birds passing by if he listened long enough. Besides, going outside to watch such mundane events occur day in and day out wasn't his cup of tea. The only logical conclusion he could find for his decision was the fact that his laptop was malfunctioning. Perhaps he relied on that machine a little bit more than he should, but without it he'd probably be sunk in a lot of his classes. Of course he knew better than to click on the emails that went into his spam folder for the most part, though sometimes even important emails ended up in there, but the curious glint in his brown eyes made the temptation hard to resist. For the past week alone the machine was frozen on the desktop. Whenever he opened the device all he could see was a heavily pixilated version of his background. Just recently he had managed to get his mouse to move, and the pixilation started to clear enough to reveal some strange egg. Coincidentally he found the strangest device buried among his school supplies in his backpack this mornings. He was currently under the assumption that it was some strange new slightly pear shaped cellphone. He had yet to try and make it work. Placing the eraser end of his black mechanical pencil into his mouth, the boy momentarily stopped trying to work on this one annoying problem. His technical difficulties at home were far away from the front of his mind as he tried not to get frustrated over his work. He knew for a fact that getting frustrated over his assignments wouldn't help him, so instead he tried to calm his mind so he could think easier. Perhaps it was a good thing that he came outside on this mundane day to work on his assignments. Every once in a while a nice cool breeze was refreshing for both his mind and his body. It was such a nice day that he was positive that the presence of another person wouldn't bother him. Of course there was the chance that he could be proven wrong. |
