By now, everything had taken a bit more form. The foundations had given way to solidly-built structures. The tunnels were way more than mere excavated dirt. The landscape had heavily morphed, and while one could say that —for some weird reason—, they didn't quite make sense if you tried to apply classical geometry to it, that was a minor inconvenience at most.
Getting used to such changes was just a matter of time, as evidenced by how the workers could do their jobs with absolutely normalcy after a period of time.
Understandably, a period of peace and tranquility had ensued after the conclusion of a certain mission, for better or worse. That had resulted on things progressing out quickly and nicely. Amelie herself could focus on the city's finer details and infrastructure with the one-hundred percent of her mind, rather than dedicating a portion of her brain on the possibility of the settlement getting attacked at any moment. Quite productive!
At the moment, the brunette was making sure that the quality of the tunnel's finish met her standards. It was a bit of a slow process, but that was the only way to truly make sure everything was in order. Once the City began working, these would likely suffer from heavy traffic; the smallest mistake could compound at a moment's notice...
Or maybe she wanted for everything to be perfect. At this point? Who knew.

Much like many times before, Sasha had been spending a large portion of the day walking around the Dark Area, alone with her own thoughts and sporadic conversations with her spirit. While she said it was to patrol the area surrounding the city looking for threats and the like, it was mostly an excuse to be alone for a while. That and the constant noise of the city being built could get really overwhelming.
This time Sasha wasn't on her own however, as for once her patrolling actually led her into something. Or rather, someone. More than what she had expected. Things could have turned rather grim for her, had she not had the good fortune of coming across someone else.
To make a rather embarrasing story short, after being nearly eaten alive by a rather hungry Raremon, Sasha had been lucky enough to be found and saved by a tamer and her two partners. One thing led to another, and now Sasha somehow found herself being taken back to the city site by the andiramon named Tohru, one of Talia's partners. During their short conversation on the trip back Sasha had grown rather...curious about Talia, or more specifically about her rather abnormal situation.
How much Talia had been willing to share about said odd situation? It was hard to say, but you'd have to be very oblivious to not notice there was something slightly odd about the pale girl.
So she figured: what better place to take her than to the city itself? Maybe someone there would be able to help her out some? Again, it was hard to say, but it didn't hurt to try. It was the least she could do after Talia helped her out.
"Watch your step, Anzu's work force is great at digging holes but not so great at filling them again." She warned the tall bunny as they began getting closer to the city's site, something that was quite obvious to see thanks to the large amounts of holes and tunnels scattered all over the place in an almost nonsensical fashion. And standing at the entrance (or perhaps the exit?) of one of said tunnels was a familiar face, hard at work as usual.
"Yo Amy! I brought some fresh meat." Sasha said with a wave in the tall french girl's direction, quickly climbing down from the digimon and approaching Amelie.
"Geez, do you ever sleep? You know you don't need to personally oversee every single tunnel, right?" She said with a teasing smirk while patting the brunette's back with far more strenght than what one would think the small russian was capable of, before turning to face Talia and the other two, who should have caught up to them by now. "Guys, let me introduce you to the big boss lady herself, Amelie. She's the one calling the shots here."

Anzu herself liked to be present with her work force. Sure, she didn't have too strong a connection with them, given it came from using a Digimental to usurp Onso, but...It was a position of leadership. Another chance at one, at least. She had to make sure they were performing at their best, and helping them when they couldn't.
After all, the frenchwoman demanded perfection. The validity of that previous sentence was questionable but Anzu assumed that they had to be doing their very best in order to be satisfactory. The digimon, hidden as Sangloupmon, quickly rose from a nearby shadow as Sasha and her company came close. "Lady Sasha, hello! ...And you brought friends! I wonder if they recognize me." The vampiric wolf gave a smirk.
The real question to be asking was where Akemi was in all of this, though...

The dark area wasn’t normally somewhere Talia had ventured, but after what she had gone through there wasn’t really anything that could top the sort of scary that was briefly dying and suddenly coming back to life in a new body, and after hearing that people were building settlements there, she’d convinced the twins to go explore to put out feelers for a new office, so to speak - what better a place to do shady work? Not that she really saw it that way, but hackers unfortunately had that stigma about them. And in the process of their combing, they’d come across a human being harassed by a vile blob of trash called Raremon and hadn’t hesitated for a second to intervene, the walking dumpster being a walk in the park for the ultimate level rabbit to seamlessly get rid of via Bunny Blades. “Heh, that’ll teach him.” The leporid was powerful as well as calculated, efficient and far more even tempered than her lower level counterpart, the last thing being a helpful asset in successful fights for sure.
“It shouldn’t be too much of an issue,” the rabbit reassured the girls (Talia having chimed in with Sasha’s warning in reminding her partner to be careful), gracefully jumping from edge to edge wherever she suspected a hole was. “Tohru is both a ninja and a showoff sometimes! The second thing, as you can see, can be more useful than annoying.” Hearing her human’s comments, the limber and lithe bunny pondered showing off more of her skills just in a sort of ‘hold my digi beer’ moment towards the teasing but luckily for Talia, she was as logical as she was show off-y, so much so that she wasn’t about to risk tripping and injuring her already weakened tamer. “Amelie?” Where did she know that name from? Digging mentally deep into the synapses of her mementos, the woman realized it was the same girl they’d run into on one of their very first trips together into the digital world, and the very first person she’d met with the power of spirit evolution. The question was, how was she going to explain to Amy about the body switch? Would it be too much to say things off the bat? “Greetings!”
Dropping down from the bunnys shoulder, Simba went to sniff the wolf, posing in a bit of a canine playbow as he did so. “I know you! You’re uh uh...the digimon who owns Anzutopia! It’s me, Simba, just in a smaller version.” Well, if Anzu was here that meant Akemi was too right? Talia thought, happy to know the girl was (hopefully) nearby. If anything, it was definitely comforting knowing this circle had two people she already knew, the woman thought as she dismounted the tall rabbit who devolved into a Turuiemon for energy saving purposes. “Now, the question is, does Amelie recognize me?” It was better than jumping into a long winded explanation off the bat right?

There wasn't much to note at the moment. Supervising a construction could be pretty boring at times, but again, that was the only surefire way she had of making sure everything was in order. Amelie made her way back towards the tunnel's exit; towards the surface. It had been a reasonably tiring, but at least she had dealt with this section appropriately.
What could she say? At the moment, the brunette thought she had earned her rest; before she could exit in full, however... Yup, there she was. That was Sasha; Amy's otherwise bored expression quickly transitioned into a small smile as she waved at her friend. "Hey, Sasha!" The teenager took a moment to gaze at the so-called 'fresh meat'. There was an air of familiarity about them, even though she couldn't quite place it. What could it be...?
Anyway. She'd give them the attention they deserved in a bit. For now, she just smirked at the blonde's remark. "Believe it or not, it's rumored I sleep at least eight hours per month. More than that, and I'd be called a sloth or something, don't you think? Nobody wants that. At least, not me!"
Those were definitely the words of somebody who tried too hard. In any case, she took a moment to gaze at the newcomers and gently wave at them. Was she supposed to recognize them? For some reason, she felt like she should. Thoughts became muddled for a second, at least until she recognized a name from a vague dialogue. Simba.
Wait, Simba!? "That can't be. Talia, is that you!?" It wouldn't have taken much for the brunette to stare at the woman she thought she should with her mouth agape. Still, that didn't mean she wasn't happy to meet an old friend again! "It's been a fair bit of time! I almost didn't recognize you due to that holosuit. How have you been? I'm so glad to see you all again."
Talk about merry reunions!

Anzu let out a chuckle! "You're half-right, but Anzutopia isn't really a place. Anzu is a thing though, and that's me." The wolf gave a smirk before she tried jumping on Simba. It was as close as she could manage to a hug, truth be told. And given Simba was smaller, she was quick to give him some space.
"Yes, I can definitely confirm that Amelie only sleeps eight hours a month." The wolf then added to the frenchwoman's claim. Yep, definitely didn't seem like Amy could recognize Talia at first, though she had some questions on that front. "...Humans can use holosuits?" That's what she took away from the matter.
"...So there's the question of recognition. Now, I can't imagine you all came here just to admire our tunnels, right?" The wolf tilted her head. Did they?

"The one and only?" It was inevitable she would have to tell Amy soon about what had happened, so why not lighten the situation with a little humor first? In a way it was something to celebrated because how many people could say they got a second chance at living? And yet at the same time Talia felt so...existentially confused if that made sense? "I've been...around, ya know, having adventures here and there, making sure these two stay out of trouble. How about you? I hear from Sasha you're managing this place?" Hearing that, Atylamon couldn't helping but give the woman a bit of a condescending headpat. "The question is, who's the one doing which?" Hinting she was showing off much stronger and capable she was of being a defender now. "Oh look, the bunny gets legs and a ego too!" It was all teasing of course - Talia very much appreciated everything Tohru did for her and she could only hope the rabbit felt the same - that seemed to be the case, as she nuzzled and hugged the deva's big head. "They uhhh...don't I think? That the thing..its a little bit more than just a holosuit."As Anzu pounced on the smaller dragon he could help but giggle with delight. "Hehe, nooo that t-tickles! Your fur is soft and warm though..." It reminded him of being under a cozy blanket at home in the apartment, curled up with his sister and human watching a movie while munching on various candy and a big bucket of popcorn. "Well, while they are good looking tunnels, the three of us couldnt help but find ourselves a bit curious about exactly it is your organization does here - not in a 'I'm a cop and I'm monitoring you' sort of way - Amy knows I'm not like that at all and I'm sure Akemi does too - wait, exactly where is Akemi?" She had just noticed the woman was missing in action. "But yeah, I would say a curiosity about what brought about the inspiration to create a community in the Dark Area - not that there's a negative connotation associated with that that of course."

Anzu's question was interesting; mostly in the sense that Amy thought that was a piece of common knowledge. In any case, it wasn't like she minded answering. "Yeah. It's not super common, but I've seen humans wearing those. The reason? I have no idea, but I think that if somebody wants to change how they look, they're on their right to do so."
It wasn't important, anyway! Just like Talia had said it, things were fairly busy over here. "Yeah. This place won't be finished on its own, so I'm taking care of everything being on time and that stuff. Overseeing, if you wanna call it in any way."
An eyebrow was raised at there being more than just a holosuit, though. It seemed like Talia was hiding something? While the mystery was somewhat enticing on its own, the brunette was confident on reaching the answer eventually. Or, at least, as soon as Talia felt comfortable with talking about it.
For now, it seemed like the person who found herself in the receiving end of a fair share of queries was none other than Amelie herself. Talia was curious, and that was understandable. Her first reaction? Waving off the girl's initial concerns. "No need to justify your stance; I know that you don't have bad intentions." She seemed a bit pensive for a bit. "A justification, huh? Well, I'm doing this mostly because I think that this place deserves so much better than what it's got, and that pretty much nobody cares on getting it anywhere, so... why not just me? Figured that after centuries of inactivity, there wasn't going to be a magical solution unless I worked for it. Also, I like to think that this place will set a new standard for the Digital World, and that it will be taken as an example of how things should be done, but that's a bit of a lofty goal, I guess. In any case, if you want to hang out with us and are willing to pull your weight, you're more than welcome. It should be fairly obvious that there's a lot of work left to be done and nowhere near enough hands over here."
Talia was a very capable girl. Amy had no doubts about her ability to fit this project. The question was... did she want to?

“The different appearance is a very long story, but if you want I can tell you over a homemade Talia special dinner later? Besides, I need to make up for that one unfilled lunch that time, and also rebuy you a new Quixo game set...” Crap, she really had a tab with this woman didn’t she?
Truth be told, Tala didn’t have to think much about her answer to Amy - that and as far as hacking went, she’d most likely be laying low for a while. “Digging might keep your hands busy too, Talia.” The way the rabbit saw it, this new opportunity could be the perfect distraction for her to throw herself to stave away from dwelling on situation freaky friday. “And you’re a rabbit, so I hope you’ll oblige to help.” Tohru saluted. “Just call me Tohru the Digger! And Simba can do the same but he can break rocks with his fire I’m sure.” Despite being born with dragon genetics, breathing fire was unfortunately not on that list. “Well, there you go!” Hopefully that was good enough of an answer for the Chief.
“Heh, sounds just like you.” Amy had been open minded enough to help them out with the Megidramon situation of course. “I take it you said goodbye to the field club?” Strange how she held so much humid judgement over a group, but yet, Talia couldn’t seem to bring herself to believe her boyfriends word without there being some kind of evidence to backup that it wasn’t bullshit. “As someone who kinda considers themself to be Switzerland in all the useless squabbles between groups that go on in this world, that’s definitely a cause I would support.” Granted, once it felt homey enough, anyone who wanted to glass the dark area would have to answer to her and her two dorks.
“And you have my - our protection.” Besides scalpers, some of the the types she couldn’t stand the most were bullies, those with an overswollen sense of justice and people who harassed innocent digimon. “And any digimon who live here will have the same amount of protection if they want it.” Which begged the question - how was their groups relationship with the local uhhh citizens? She knew a lot of the digimon who lived here weren’t exactly known for being friendly. “Out of curiosity, how are the digital neighbors taking you guys being here?”

"What an interesting bit of trivia to learn about, eheh..." A voice that was distinctly not Anzu uttered. A little lady standing about five feet flat with a hat. That was Akemi. Though, she was also accompanied by someone else. A woman standing about eight inches taller than her and wearing a...very conspicuous nun-like outfit. She was quiet as a mouse and otherwise just stood at Akemi's side like some sort of gangster-like bodyguard.
"Oh, so you actually...finished whatever it was you were doing?" Anybody with a brain/the knowledge of what goes on here knew that Akemi sometimes went and oversaw a group of DexDorugamon herself. She nodded towards Anzu, before looking to Talia and waving at her. "Hey! Did you get brought aboard too? Or did I walk in on that?"
Anzu herself meanwhile gave Simba some room before she actually started chuckling at Tohru. "Yeah, we're in dire need of more hands for digging. Always. "I'd say we're doing pretty okay with the local neighbors, too..."

Being one-hundred percent honest with herself, Amelie didn't know what kind of answer she would get from Talia. And that meant she was pleasantly surprised when she accepted becoming part of her growing group. That was a good thing! The brunette proceeded to smile widely at the trio's remarks, pretty happy that things had worked out.
"That'll do it. Welcome aboard, you three. I'm glad to have you all aboard!" Smile turned into a smirk when the comment about the project having her 'personal touch' was uttered. What could she say, it was her project, after all! Pity that expression didn't last enough, considering that... "Yeah. I can't say that my tenure in The Digital Field Club wasn't entertaining, but I just couldn't spare it enough time if I wanted to begin with my own project, you know? Guess it was a bit of a silent goodbye, but I like to think I have a good relationship with everyone there. Haven't chatted with a good deal of them in a while, though. Wonder how they're doing?"
Those were all idle thoughts, however. Better to just focus on the matter at hand. "Well, we're not really going to be Switzerland. Right now, we're handling a number of domestic conflicts over here, and..."
Akemi's timely appearance cut that speech short. She was with a Sistermon, who seemed to be fairly serious; not like Amy cared, anyway. "Hey there!" She waved at Akemi, closing the distance between them to give her friend a hug, and some headpats to the newly arrived Sistermon. Talk about looking serious! "How were the workers doing? The deadline for the first stage of the construction work is approaching. Gotta remain in schedule if we want to finish this in time."
Oh, right. Going back to Talia. "We've had some... misunderstandings with the powers currently governing the Dark Area. But that's fine, and kinda expected; we have been able to navigate through them. And that's why we are here. In fact..." She made a small pause, taking a moment to look at an undetermined point in the horizon. "We were going to talk about our next plan. Wanna come?"
Better now than never, right?

“It involves a megidramon also, but that’s a story for another day,” She told the approaching Akemi while waving to the woman who seemed to be accompanied by what looked like someone dressed in what Talia could only describe as Religious Lolita, said someone being a digimon she assumed and sure enough, the readings on her digivice referred to it as a sistermon. “You could say that; we helped out another member of yours from being attacked by a raremon and she brought us here to check things out.” She left out Sasha’s name to cover her own ass, having a feeling that the prideful blonde might get really irritated if she was public embarrassed that way, as she waved at the quiet sistermon. “Hi there! I’m Talia and these are my par-” where had those two gone off to now?
“And we’re glad to be here! It’s good to see you again.” Much to the silver haired girls mild horror, the twins had opted to greet Amelie, as usual, without any need for utilizing personal space, with Tohru sitting on her shoulder and Simba hunched at her side. “I hope you’re not working too hard, you feel a bit cold.” The rabbit put her hand on the girls head having been concerned after Sasha’s commenting on her lack of sleep, a check which was followed by nuzzles from Simba. “But that’s why we cuddle the humans Tohru! To keep them warm.” Dang it, why was it so hard to stay mad at these two when they were being this adorable? “-anyway, that would be them over there, Tohru and Simba.” Seeing the soft ears on Anzu, the woman couldn’t help but reach out to stroke her yet again. “And you’re just as pettable as I recall, Anzu, hehe!”
Turning back to Amy, Talia shrugged. “I felt the same way when I left my recent company, but the office life just got so...stale for me? That and I knew deep down, I was capable of much more than just drinking coffee and sitting at a desk all day.” Programming hadn’t nearly been that boring, but she was exaggerating just a bit for the reason that the other pieces of the story wouldn’t make sense if she explained them now. “No idea - I did see Carlos and Dio recently, but those details can be best saved for a rainy occasion, or maybe that dinner later.” This wasn’t really the appropriate time to go into details about her relationship troubles after all, especially since Amy seemed to want to get down to business and frankly Talia gladly welcomed the distraction. “Ooooh, I do love a good old fashioned brouhaha squabble!” The twins glanced in the direction the woman was looking at with an utmost curiosity and tugged their own human along with impatience. “You heard her Talia!” “Yeah, we should jump right in!” To which the girl could only chuckle with amusement. “Apparently we do! Heck, I didn’t know there were so many settlements here for a while - I always pictured the dark area as being an untamed wasteland of wild digimon or something.” Which was probably true before the humans had arrived.

Anzu was about to say something about the Megidramon, but the Sistermon spoke first. She returned Amelie's headpats with...her own? Wow. Meanwhile, Akemi got a little flustered at the pats!
"I'd ask what you were doing with a literal world-ending dragon, but I feel as though that isn't something we'll be hearing about today." Spoke the nun, to which the Sangloupmon could only nod. "Yes, another time."
Sasha, getting in trouble with a Raremon? Huh. The wolf looked to the blonde in a sympathetic manner. "Yeah, Raremon are actually the worst. Literal trash goblins."
"...Anyways." Akemi began. "Workers are doing their work. They should be able to meet the deadline with time to spare if they keep at their jobs like this. Also, if I may...Just because the surface is a wasteland doesn't mean civilization can't rise in other places, you know. Anyways, I'm up to hear about this stuff. And other assorted stories. Over dinner."

Tohru and Simba were, as usual, a couple of cinnamon rolls. The Lopmon herself had gone as far as to worry about Amy's welfare! Was there anything as heartwarming as that? Right now, the brunette couldn't think what could that be! "Awww, don't worry!" She replied while patting both twins simultaneously and getting patted by the Sistermon! "No need to! I'm just making sure that everything is on its place. Overworking myself would be detrimental for the city's progress, so... it'd be kinda foolish of me to neglect sleep, don't you think? What about you two? Have you been well? I hope Talia has given you all the deviled eggs!"
Feeding digimons was important, after all! Right now, the situation was rather obvious, though. Talia felt like she could do more, Amelie knew she could do more, and Akemi had been doing a great job! A small smile was directed in the smaller brunette's way, right before Amy listened to the rest of what Talia had to say. Truth was that, while the Dark Area had a degree of 'development', if you could call it that way, it hadn't contributed to the advancement of the region on the slightest. Petty rulers, only interested in the meager riches the region could provide.
"What can I say. This time nor its inhabitants have been kind to this place." she explained. "The political panorama over here is... interesting, to say the least. But I think that we'll come to solve a good deal of it when everything's good and running."
Akemi was right on one thing, however. This would be a rather lengthy explanation; and doing it on an empty stomach wouldn't be as productive. "Let's head inside. We can get comfortable in there."
With any luck, everyone would follow! [Exit]
