Tenebrous: dark, shadowy or obscure.
A bit of a corny name, wasn't it? In her short trip through the Digital World, Yuuya had to admit that the naming conventions over here were a bit... peculiar. Whether that meant practical and straight to the point, or less-than-nice words, was still something up to debate in the teenager's mind.
However, that wasn't the reason why he was sitting in one of the many benches of the city's main plaza, Labramon loyally standing by his side, even if a bit more solemn than usual. The reason for the boy's presence was something much... lighter in nature.
Yup. He had gotten himself a date, courtesy of some weird Valentine's thing. For some mysterious reason, his name was among the list of the people who signed up, and that resulted in him and his current predicament. How that had happened? He had no idea, and while he may not be an exemplary human being, running away from situations like this one was under his 'way past the line' umbrella.
For that reason, he was there, silently waiting for his date to arrive. Yuuya didn't know a lot about her, besides the fact that her name was Wakako Mouzume and that he was supposed to meet her at this place... any moment now, really.
And that it was too soon to make any other comments on the matter. Time to play the waiting game.

There was something rather fluttery in Wakako's heart right now as the Spirit Wielder briskly walked amidst the crowds of this underground city, her alert eyes trying to catch any sign of a specific person... Humans fortunately stood out like sore thumbs in the Digital World usually, so it was just a matter of finding the right guy.
Frankly, Wakako had not even known that Valentines Day had come originally... The way time fluctuated in the Digital World compared to the real world was to say the least awkward for her. Years in the Digital World can pass by, yet only months in the human world... Had Mae not alerted her to a sorta "potluck" Valentines Day get-together being setup on Tamernet, she would have most certainly had glanced over it entirely.
Tenebrous was chosen as their destination to meet up... and well, admittingly she was fairly in the dark as to who mister Yuuya Inugawa was like. Well, beyond being human... and very likely male. She wasn't exactly asking for much here, but at the same time was also frankly terrified of all this. Would she look or act weird to them? With her only interactions in recent times being with Digimon for the most part, she just just worried that it might make her unable to be a proper date here.
Well if a cat can get a date, so can she!
Eventually the white-haired girl soon arrived at the main plaza... Her attention drawn to a young man man with a Labramon. A little older-looking than her, but she wasn't some bloody kid anymore! Steeling her resolve, the girl approached the pair. "Excuse me, but are you Yuuya Inugawa? I'm trying to find someone named that."

Waiting would go mostly in silence, except for Labramon's occasional sniffs around, or when he seemed interested in any passing digimon. It was only a matter of time before the perceived something different about the atmosphere, however; suddenly, the digimon became just a bit excited at the sight of another human being approaching. A rather small girl with white hair approaching, donning a dress that didn't seem very... conventional, but overall, that was fine.
Labramon himself would be the first being to greet the newcomer, running towards her with a happy expression while Yuuya himself took his time at standing up. The dog took its time sniffing the girl, all the while she greeted the group. "That should be me, yes." The boy responded, giving a small glance around. "I guess you're Wakako Mozume, then. Hope you don't mind Labramon. He's a good boy, but he gets excited when meeting new people. Hope you're ready to go."
Quite honestly, the boy didn't have any grand plans regarding where to go, but that didn't mean he didn't have a plan. Key difference! "So, why don't you tell me a bit about you? We can do this game where each person alternates asking a question and then receiving and answer. I've heard it works."
Nobody could say he was super enthused about the whole deal, but that may or may not change with time. Only one way to find out!

Wakako breathed a bit easier at least hearing that she had the right person... Thank god, as otherwise she'd have practically died from embarassment. "Oh! N-no, no thats fine... I mean, I cannot imagine a personal reason as to why Labramon here can't stay. He's your friend, isn't he?" the girl quickly responded, glancing at the white-furred dog Digimon briefly.
Tamers were honestly really lucky to have someone they could trust and rely on always... She while had her own friends, she still lived a fairly lonely life all things considered.
"B-but yes... I'm Wakako Mozume. I-It is a pleasure to meet you on this Valentines week!" the girl somewhat meekly spoke aloud as she bowed briefly in respect to her date for the day; she awkwardly taking a seat on the bench by Yuuya. She silently hoped to herself she wasn't coming across as strange... though she got the feeling she was failing in that regard.
"Is this how dates go? I mean, I've read a ton of romantic novels... but I get the feeling most of that is overly-dramatic garbage." the young teenager asked quizzically... She genuinely didn't know just how dates went, she willing to blame her absense from the human world for cursing her with this inadequate amount of experience in the subject. "Well... I live here... As in the Digital World I mean. I live here with my big sister and some nice people that took us in... I've been living here for about three years now? Digital World time... I think." the girl began to talk, briefly trying to give at least a small synopsis of who she was without going too ham about it.

Labramon seemed to appreciate Wakako's positive response, quietly snuggling into the girl's leg as soon as she sat. The guy seemed to have taken a liking to her already! "Yeah, I guess he's my friend," Yuuya responded placidly. "He's with me mostly because he's not very good at keeping the apartment clean when I leave him here."
If the dog's ears were any longer, they would be touching the floor right now. Instead, he just decided to lie on the ground, apparently relaxing under Tenebrous' sunless sky. "Pleasure to meet you as well." He responded as he made sure to make enough space for the petite girl to sit.
How dates went...? That was a pretty interesting question, even though the teenager didn't quite know the answer to it. "Honestly, I'm not sure, even though I agree that most romance novels are hot garbage." A small smirk made its way to his face. "So, why don't we just do what we want to do? If you come up with any ideas on what you'd rather do, I'm all ears. It's not like we'll spend the whole evening on a bench, right? We could go and grab a bite or something, I guess."
Slowly, Wakako began to recount the tale of her adventures. Well, 'tale' was maybe an exaggeration, but it still seemed like a relatively interesting story. In fact, Yuuya himself found rather hard to believe that such a young-looking person had already spent three days of her life in this world. For what he knew, that seemed pretty amazing.
"Living in the Digital World must be a pretty interesting lifestyle choice." He hummed, a bit pensively. "I'm a newbie in the whole matter, so I can't quite tell. Three years is a fair bit, though. Do you have any favorite memories in this world?"
He didn't know what to expect from this place, so that question happened to serve two purposes.

"We used to have a poodle that ate up the couch... Maybe furniture just seems tasty to dogs? Maybe also dog Digimon do too?" Wakako chuckled slightly at the amusing explanation about Labramon as she reached a hand to pet the white-furred mammal. She noticed that the canine wasn't really too talkative... Could they even talk? There were definitely Digimon that didn't really rely on words to get their points across, so it wasn't too surprising for her.
Well, at least the idea of dating didn't seem as rigid or complex as she was thinking it would be... Hearing that Yuuya was pretty open to ideas on what they could helped ease some tension as Wakako took a deep breath and cleared her thoughts. "I'll make sure to let you know if I think of something then. I am sure theres something we can do down here." the girl mused, even if she did understand that Tenebrous was... on the shady side of things.
Living in the Digital World was an interesting lifestyle choice.
The way Wakako sighed in response to that pretty easily told a story... one she wasn't at all happy with. Choice nothing; she hated being here. "I am not here because I want to be. I want to go go home. If I could, I would have dropped everything so I can head back home... To my real mom and dad." she spoke somewhat bitterly as she kept her hands close to herself. Honestly, the only reason she felt still sane was people like miss Yukiko or Mae... but the guilt of probably leaving her birthparents in confused despair ached at her heart like a knife that had been plunged into it for as long as she has been separated from them.
While she was upset about her situation, the Spirit Wielder soon snapped out of the irritable funk realizing that she wasn't alone right now... she turning to Yuuya with an awkward, pained look. "I-I'm sorry... I didn't mean to snap at you like that. I... I don't talk about it much with people. Its not something I want them to bother with."
Memories-wise... Well, she had plenty of bad memories; but there were good ones mixed in. For every couple bad things that have happened to her, a few good things have too... and the best possible thing to have ever happened to her was meeting Mae. "I think my favorite memory was meeting my sister... Well, she's not related to me blood... I don't even think Digimon really have blood like we do, since they're just kinda data. Still, she means the world to me." the girl began to slowly recount. "We just sorta randomly met out in the Network Plains one day. Neither of us really had friends... but we had s'mores and talked, and things just kinda stuck!"
If there was one thing that could cheer up Wakako, it was talking about her best friend.

Dogs and how they could suffer from separation anxiety was an interesting topic, even if Labramon wasn't technically a dog. Or was he? He certainly acted, behaved and had very dog-like tendencies. Heck, most of the time he could pass as a normal dog in front of most strangers. The fact that he wasn't a dog seemed more like a technicality than an actual argument.
"Never got him to answer. Next time, I hope he'll ask for food rather than just chew on random furniture. My income can only take so much punishment before being ground to dust, you know?" A somewhat nonchalant shrug followed. On the other hand, Labramon seemed to have taken a liking to Wakako, gently insisting the white-haired girl for more pets with his head as the two humans conversed.
She was surprisingly pleasant for a kid, that was for sure. There was a certain air of... refinement in her words, at least sometimes! "I think I have some ideas of my own, but it'd be nice to hear anything that might come across your mind; if you have any plans, at least. I'm not a picky person."
Seemingly, he had pushed a button? The way Wakako reacted at his comment regarding lifestyle choices seemed to trigger a sudden rush of hostility. Yuuya himself couldn't understand the exact nature of the grief that afflicted, but he could relate to it in some way. Even Labramon, who wasn't very conscious of the ongoing conversation, placed his head on the girl's lap and peered directly into her eyes. A soothing gesture of sorts, even if he wasn't very good at them.
"Sorry. That was a misunderstanding on my part. I didn't mean to offend you." The boy said once that small rant was over. "You don't have to be sorry; and that's fine. You'd be surprised, but I've been called way worse. If you want to talk about the topic, that's fine too. I'm willing to listen to anything you have to say if you think that'd make you feel better. It wouldn't be a bother, I promise."
After all, that's... more or less the gist of dates, isn't it? Luckily, not everything was sad and bleak for the girl. She had made friends and it seemed like at least some people appreciated her. That much prompted a small smile from the boy's lips. Even Labramon seemed to have cheered up! "Your sister sounds like a really nice digimon; it's nice that those exist in this world." As an idea began to form in his mind, his expression became a bit more pensive. "I wouldn't mind meeting her someday."
Suddenly, he stood up from his bench and extended his hand towards her. "I think I've got an idea. Wanna come?" Whether Wakako took his hand or just stood up and followed, that was her decision. The boy wouldn't take either gesture as a slight.

Despite how different the Digital World was and how the nature of its inhabitants differed greatly from the human world’s, a dog was a dog… typically man’s best friend. The girl could not help herself but smile at Labramon’s attention-hungry nature, obliging with all manners of petting and scratching comfortable spots for the canine Digimon. Perhaps it was how similar they were to an actual dog that acted as a bit of catharsis for Wakako?
Though the bitter thoughts would never just simply go away, Wakako was able to at least shelve them away from further impacting her… Fortunately Yuuya was a patient individual and seemed to take the mild funneling of bad-vibes in stride, even so much as apologizing for perhaps poking the wrong buttons. ”No no, you could not have known. It would be unfair to just take my anger out on you, especially because you have nothing to do with it.” she somewhat apologized, sighing to herself as she briefly twiddled her thumbs. It was somewhat petty to think, but she kinda wished there was someone to blame her suffering on. ”There is no one I can really blame this whole ordeal on, not even myself. I suppose it is kinda weird, but I kinda wish that there were someone that is causing it. At least then I could have some kind of catharsis trying to rebel against it… Kinda like those stories where the princess is being held against her will by an evil dragon, waiting for her knight-in-shining armor to slay the dragon so she can be free?”
What Wakako didn’t know was whether she needed to be just the princess or her own knight…
Still, talking about Mae brightened up Wakako’s mood slightly… she even smiling a bit warmly! ”She is very sweet and nice… Shy, but she is a good person. I kinda wish I knew her before this actually… I care about her enough to want her to be my real sister actually!” she softly spoke, even letting out a playful giggle at the thought of maybe introducing Mae to someone else. ”Maybe! I think she is on a date too… I kinda convinced her into doing it too. I wonder how she is doing right now…?”
There was at least a thirty percent chance probably horribly, but eh thats how romance worked… right?
At the mention of a possible idea for continuing their own date, Wakako smiled as as she daintily stood up and took Yuuya’s hand. ”Well, it wouldn’t be much a date if I didn’t, now would it?” she playfully teased, even so much as sticking the tip of her tongue. She was actually terrified of the idea of dating initially… but this was far smoother a transition than she thought it would be!

Did Labramon enjoy the attention he was getting? Of course, he was. Wakako had proven to be nicer to him than a good deal of humans! Most of them considered him annoying, or just didn't care about his presence, but it made him very happy that the girl was different!
But that was secondary to the matter at hand. Despite the dog being supremely thankful and obviously demonstrating it at how his right leg was slowly thumping, that didn't prevent the humans from having an actual, meaningful conversation. It was a good thing that Wakako didn't take to heart what had originally been a good-natured comment, even if it had ended up being horribly lacking in tact.
For some reason, that didn't surprise Yuuya at all. What was surprising was that something like that hadn't happened sooner. In any case, his apology had worked and they were once again in more or less good terms. Hoping it wouldn't be taken in the wrong way, he smirked slightly. "I'm ignorant about a good deal of things about this world. Kind of a newbie over here." In fact, somebody being 'trapped' in here wasn't something he thought possible at all. "And I know that I probably wouldn't be of much help, but if I can do anything to help you in getting back home, just tell me. I'm sure that Labramon would be thrilled to help as well."
An excited bark demonstrated that he was, in fact, a good boy. "I'm sure there must be something or at least a reason why you're stuck when... most others aren't. But that's probably not a topic you want to discuss in a date, anyway. Sorry... again, I guess."
Mae sounded like a good girl, even if it the prospect of her date currently suffering was equally as likely. "I hope her date goes well. Or at least that she hasn't gotten somebody as bad as me." That was mostly a humorous comment, not actual self-depreciation. "Would you be happy for her if she got a boyfriend? Or a girlfriend, I guess. Not gonna discriminate if she swings both ways."
That question lingered in the air for a couple of seconds, before promptly being followed by another. Getting a negative answer made him just a bit nervous, but a positive answer made him smile slightly. "Well, there's always the possibility of you just slapping me and leaving this place. Can't discard the possible outcomes, right?"
Hand in hand, and with Labramon in tow, he began walking towards the city's downtown, and into a seemingly abandoned building. It was a bit creepy, and Yuuya wouldn't fault the girl if he was having second thoughts at the moment. But if nothing funny happened, after two or so floors of stairs, the trio would find themselves on top of the building's terrace.
"I saw it in a bulletin board while walking to this place. It's probably not that big of a deal, but I thought you'd enjoy them." From one moment to the next, a colorful, bright red firework illuminated the city's dark sky. Now his intent was obvious; this was a vantage point of sorts to better appreciate the spectacle.
The best part? It was just beginning!

Wakako was used to getting sympathy from others… Not that she actively craved it. She greatly preferred keeping her problems from influencing others; she saw it as a sign of weakness, and a Spirit Wielder can’t be weak. ”It is kind of you, but don’t worry about it. I’ve tried everything, and no one I know can figure this out.” she gently assured Yuuya (a hand idly finding JUST the right spot to scritch Labramon). “Besides I am positive my parents think I am dead… and if I showed up, they wouldn’t think its me anyway. I was nine when I first got here. Unless you can wind back time, I just don’t think there is an easy way out of this.” she spoke, gently sighing as she tried to keep her vision from getting watery.
There was no point to crying over spilt milk after all.
”Nah. It’s okay… I know you just are trying to help. Don’t worry about it too much. This is my problem, and only I can do something about it.” she assured Yuuya as she pulled out briefly her D-Tector. ”I… I just have the feeling that if I can find more Spirits, one day I’ll be the one who can control my destiny… Hopefully.”
Okay yeah, the conversation was getting too heavy. As Wakako began to settle down, she briefly glanced at her date in mild confusion in regards to some of the strange dialect they were using. “Swing both what…?” she asked, though soon came to a sudden realization as she rested a hand on her forehead. “Ohhh, you mean if she likes girls too? Honestly I don’t think she cares too much.. She’s a Digimon so they don’t really have genders like we do, just identities... and that is sometimes hard to tell. Still, I do hope she’s having fun! E-Even if there is maybe a minor chance of her coming home crying. She does that alot.”
Well, if she DID came home to a crying Mae… Nothing like some milk, s’mores, and then some movies can’t fix.
“If it makes you feel better, I’d say that possibility is a bit unlikely. Maybe it’ll end up the other way around? Who knows?” Wakako giggled at the slight possibility of how this date could turn out… Sure it was possible, but it didn’t seem likely either way right now. “A joke of course. I don’t take you as the kinda person who hits girls on dates.” she teased as she allowed herself to be guided to a seemingly innocuous building… Not that she had much reason to be frightened after some of the shit she HAD gone through.
Her patience and trust towards Yuuya was soon rewarded though with the beginnings of a spectacle of lights brightening the sky… or what qualified as a sky down here. “Oh! I didn’t realize they were doing fireworks today!” the girl giddily spoke… reminded of many a New Year’s Day back on Earth. She soon sat down by Yuuya, her hand still grasping his own as she watched the show with a look of wonder. ”It is kinda hard to remember that we’re all underground right now… It is almost like the night sky... Just how big is Old Terminus do you think?”

While the worry on Yuuya's tone was legitimate, the teenager knew when it was fitting to just give up. He knew way better than to try to influence a person's way of thinking on something like a first date. Leave that kind of crap to those self-righteous do-gooders or something along those lines. After all, she'd been here for three years, and he was the newbie.
And he wasn't that arrogant. Probably! Not to say that Labramon seemed to favor the girl greatly; angering her would cause a chain reaction that would anger the dog as well. Yuuya couldn't bring himself to do that.
"Your decisions are yours. I take that you've thought them more than well enough for my input to be relevant." Her tone was respectful, and did its best at not stirring any more emotions within the girl. "My offer for helping you on what you might need remains there. You don't want Labramon to miss you, do you?"
He couldn't avoid smirking at how Wakako didn't seem to get her indirect comment regarding Mae's potential tastes. That was fine; sometimes, it was hard to remember he was in front of a thirteen-year-old girl. Not that made the exchange any less fun, though! "You can never be too sure of that type of thing, in my opinion. Maybe your sister has a well-hidden, deeply romantic digital heart beating inside her chest. Wouldn't that be an interesting development?" By now, it was obvious that his words weren't all that serious. "Hope she won't come crying from her date. It takes somebody truly awful to do that, especially to somebody who seems to be such a nice girl."
But... enough was enough. Not sure if it was appropriate to laugh or be alarmed at Wakako's next comment, he just smirked a bit. "One never knows! Maybe I'm preparing to rickroll you or something. The ultimate evil."
Luckily, their journey had gone more or less smoothly. And now the couple plus Labramon were sitting while watching the colorful display. His hand was still being held by Wakako, but... it wasn't like he really minded; even if rather small when compared to his, the touch felt... nice, to say the least.
What on regards to her question? Well... "I think the underground is smaller than Terminus itself, but that's already quite a high bar, isn't it? I hate sounding cryptic, but I'd wager it's as... big as it needs to be, honestly. These shady-looking places always spring more space out of the blue as soon as it is needed. One of the reasons why you can't really trust them, I guess?"
To say that Tenebrous wasn't a place for a stroll in the park was kinda obvious, even though it had happened to be their designated location for a date. A bit funny, in hindsight! "But it's nice to see that even they have enough good taste to celebrate Valentine's on their own way. I gotta say that fireworks are very pretty."
He made a pause, looking at a particularly colorful explosion at the distance for a second before briefly glancing at Wakako. "Just like you, if that weren't a terribly corny way of saying it." How nonchalantly had that statement been issued was a bit on the unsettling side. A rational mind would even go as far as to question if he was being serious or not at the moment.

Her exilement here in the Digital World was indeed a topic that Wakako had plenty of time to think about… Somewhat beating a horse to death at this point, which got frustrating at times. “I have thought about it a lot, but some days I just sorta tune it all out… You know. Pretend like I don’t have these problems.” she ended up musing, though smiled at the warm words and offer being thrown at her. “... and thank you Yuuya. I really do appreciate you and Labramon being here… I don’t think I need much now. Just someone I can talk to and be with is good enough.”
Was Mae gonna be okay? God, even though she knew Yuuya was just playing around she couldn’t help but even be slightly concerned for her adoptive big sis. Still, Mae was doing better at keeping her emotions in control… Hell, she was starting to get used to actually talking to people! “... Hmm. Well, it beats I suppose a sharp stick in the eye, don’t ya think? Or you know… cat claws. Eh, nevermind. I am sure she’s gonna be okay.” she idly mused, though brief confusion did soon form on her face at the mention of “rickrolling”. The Ultimate Evil? It didn’t really sound like much an evil, though she didn’t know exactly what it was to begin with. Frankly, one could perhaps excuse the girl as she has not had the time to really delve into the world of memetic humor to know about this. ”...? Umm… Sorry if I seem a little slow, but I do not exactly know what that is. Is it some kind of joke?”
Regardless; as the fireworks dotted the sky, Wakako felt more at ease with the situation. The underground was a large place, but it was only a tiny part of this gigantic world… At times, the Digital World felt limitless. Perhaps at the same time though she had grown used to the alien, dream-like environments of this world… something that had enlightened her with how paradoxically dangerous, yet welcoming the Digital World was. ”It is a seedy place, but at the same time I do not believe it is all to be taken at face-value. If we did, we might have missed out on seeing this together? A bit of a diamond against the rough in a way.” she briefly rambled, holding out her spare hand as she began to motion her finger ala a pointer as she spoke. ”I kinda see it the same way with people. Even the scary-looking ones can be nice, but that doesn’t mean we should drop our guard all the time.”
Well, regardless of how philosophical she was getting; any semblance of demureness vanished at the slight compliment on her appearance… Maybe it was a little dorky of her, but something like that was able to make her heart flutter some. ”Oh gosh… Thank you. I got a bit help from one of my friends before this… she’s what I’d call fabulous, despite being kinda… well, froggy.” she spoke, referring to miss Mizu from the library. Ironically, she didn’t view her true form as really much… Maybe it was because she still got the feeling that people treated her like a kid, yet she had been trying to survive in the Digital World for technically longer than most humans have visited it! It was all in all a frustrating feeling; one that took some convincing to get herself to not just curl up in defense. ”... Actually the funny thing is, I was debating originally coming as one of my Spirit forms… M-Mostly because I was worried I wouldn’t be taken seriously. I tend to hide in my forms a lot because people are more apt to take you know, a Digimon seriously… a lot more than just some teenager. I mean… Maybe that worry was unjustified, but I was scared to death.” she spoke, clutching Yuuya’s hand a bit more tightly as her face grew pink… actually smiling lightly again. ”... I mean, I am glad I didn’t. That wouldn’t have been fair to you I feel… That and I don’t think coming to the first date as a giant snake woman would have left a good impression. I mean, unless that is your thing.” she giggled, teasing Yuuya slightly.

Being honest with himself, Yuuya couldn't quite wrap his mind around the hell that should be being away from the ones you love for an indeterminate amount of time, coupled with needing to find your way around an alien world. Indeed a fate the teenager wouldn't desire to his worst enemy. In a sense, Wakako could be called the hardcore version of Robinson Crusoe, even though he was sure as hell she'd probably not appreciate that kinda nickname.
"Don't mention it. Besides, I think that you're already one of Labramon's favorite humans. Don't expect him to let you go easily!" It was surprising how easily the dog could bond with others; almost as if he could perceive their intent towards him.
Nah, that was just too ridiculous to be real. Rather than thinking about impossible scenarios, Yuuya focused on Wakako's words, realizing only after nodding at Mae's potential well-being that... understandably, the girl was ignorant about the vast and marvelous world of memes. And concluded that being an act of cruelty against the girl coming from any and all humans that had stumbled upon her. How could they be that evil?
"You... don't know? Welp, I guess I'll have to take responsibility on that, then. Don't worry about it." His tone suddenly grew a great deal more serious. "The world of memes can be dangerous for those not prepared for it, but I can safely say that it's the ultimate form of humor of our era. I don't have material at the moment, but I'll be sure to bring plenty for the next time! And then, you can teach Mae as well. For some reason, I'm sure she'll enjoy them as well."
Ultimately, what mattered was that the trio was enjoying themselves, even if Labramon had mostly been relegated to the background, gazing at the spectacle that illuminated the sky while the humans conversed with each other. And frankly? It was surprising how Wakako could be so thoughtful and mature; to say that she was wise beyond her years in Digital World matters wouldn't be giving her the credit she deserved.
"I think that judging a book for its cover tends to be a mistake more often than not. And I can agree on Tenebrous' fireworks being among the best I've seen in a good amount of time; guess all the dark helps them to look even more pretty." He made a pause, his gaze tracing a green-colored firework that exploded in a shower of violet sparks. His date's words, even if somewhat jumbled at the sudden compliment, definitely felt nice.
Trust was definitely something he could appreciate. And a mildly embarrassed disposition was definitely something he found cute. "I think you made some very good friends in this place; your froggy friend definitely has some good taste." He commented, somewhat idly. Truth was that was a bit of a preamble to what he was going to say next. "I guess that interacting with others is always a coin toss, regardless of their outward appearance, but... I'm glad that you decided to be yourself around me. And I frankly think that anyone not taking you seriously just because you're young is probably quite ignorant. If it helps any, you're more mature than a good deal of the girls at my age. You should be proud of yourself, at least on that front!"
Enough compliments for a bit. Otherwise, the atmosphere might get a bit too sugary; or was it already way too sugary? At least, a timely joke served to sever that notion. "I wouldn't mind taking a peek at your spirit forms, but... I have the feeling I'd like the real Wakako more for everyday stuff." He seemed to be a bit thoughtful at his own words for a second, before resuming. "Unless you really feel more comfortable as a giant snake woman than as a human girl. Maybe that's your thing!"
A small bout of laughter was the natural response to the girl's joke. It was funny, how easily the two had clicked up. "How does it feel, by the way? Changing forms, and getting new abilities and that stuff that seems out of a fantasy book? Can anyone... really get used to something like that?"

The world of memes sounded… slightly dangerous, but apparently quite exciting! Wakako didn’t exactly spend too much time learning about what people considered funny these days, but at the same time was somewhat open to the idea of learning about what she was missing out. Her parents used to forbid her from using the computer until she was older… Well, jokes on them. She was surfing the web quite literally these days! ”Maybe you should teach me this stuff sometime? I’d be interested! I feel like I am being withheld from something, and I kinda wanna know what humans think is funny again.” the girl spoke with a hint of interest, laughing softly to herself. ”Mae is pretty funny… a bit morbid, but she never really means any harm! I mean, unless you try and kill her… but then again at that point she’d probably try and eat you. Digimon tend to do that alot.”
Herself included, but she figured that telling your date you have deleted and loaded sapient beings (even if in self-defense) was probably in poor taste.
Compliments as it turned out appeared to be a weakpoint for Wakako, she blushing at some of the praise regarding her maturity. To someone who greatly cared about just for once being taken seriously, it was really nice to for once be given some credit when it was due. ”Thank you, Yuuya… I was honestly really scared because I was worried I’d just creep you out or bore you, but you’ve been really nice.” she sweetly spoke, gazing up at the colorful fireworks up in the quote on quote sky. ”I guess what I am saying is I am having a lot of fun being with you!”
The conversation did shift slightly towards it seemed the nature of how she was a tad different than Yuuya… They might be both Digidestined, but they both had very different experiences as a whole. It was only natural she supposed he’d be curious on what being a Spirit Wielder was like. Of course, as it turns out he was quite shrewd at playing tennis with snarky comments as Wakako’s face blushed in embarrassment at the mention of Villiaummon. ”N-No? M-Maybe? Gee… Uh… It depends I guess! Sometimes I just have a day where I wanna slither!” she awkwardly rebutted, though collected herself fairly quick.
“Well… Honestly, its not really surprising changing forms all the time. I guess I have just kind of grown used to it as a whole; it is to the point that it is almost second-nature. I mean it was a little weird at first, but you really do get used to it.” “Have you ever tried imagining what it would be like if you had four legs? Or heck… no legs at all even. I mean, Labramon probably knows what I am saying. You actually adjust to it really quick when shifting through forms… it feels like you’ve always known how to walk and move around in each one.” she ended up speaking… also motioning Labramon closer so she could subject them to some tender love and care.
“Digivolving feels like having everything about you shift around, but it never feels wrong. Each form is like a different set of skin… or maybe like a lens? It is still you, but in a different light or perspective… Every one of my forms, human or not is a bit different as a person; but its not they change who I am.” she mused, dwelling somewhat on the nature of her spirits and how they impacted her. “In a weird way, I guess you could say that there isn’t really a real Wakako... They’re all equally real, just different sides of a whole. I’m just a puzzle with more pieces.” she spoke, though soon giggled as a few funny thoughts passed by. It sorta sounded as if she didn’t care what form she was in… which was true, but she figured it probably would be difficult to imagine if you weren’t a Spirit Wielder or Digimon. “Heh. Though I guess it would look weird to date a Digimon, even if they actually have a human form… Then again, I get the feeling some people would be all for something like an Angewomon or something.”

Would Wakako take the bait regarding the amazing, yet somewhat scary world of memes™? It was definitely a puzzling proposition, yet enticing at the same time. Truthfully, memes were akin to a rabbit hole; once you got hooked to them, it was pretty much impossible to get away. However... was that something truly bad? Yuuya really struggled to think about anyone who rejected everything memes stood for. Sure, some weren't very tasteful, but keeping those at bay was relatively easy.
A not-so-innocent smirk made its way towards his features. Inducting somebody to this kind of thing always resulted in some form of hilarity. "It'd be my pleasure to teach you about memes. I honestly think that you'd pick them in no time!" Was this actually some form of devious plan? He couldn't be sure; the power of memes could be used for both good and evil. It would depend on the girl's own judgment what to make out of it. "Next time we get to hang out, I'll make sure to teach you the basics. The rest is fairly intuitive; you could probably learn it on your own if you wanted to."
Not that he wouldn't lend his help if needed or requested, but Yuuya was confident on Wakako's intelligence. And the meme spark seemed strong within her; it'd only take igniting it to watch the fireworks unfold. Figuratively, of course!
All things considered, both human and digimon seemed like a funny pair, even if she hadn't met Mae at all. "I mean, I wouldn't blame anyone from using lethal force in self-defense in this place. I haven't seen a lot of it, but I'd dare to say that this place can get pretty lawless at times. Can't blame others for just wanting to live, can I? The alternative isn't super enticing, if you ask me."
Overall, it was good to know that his date thought he was a pleasant individual! Just like her cousin said, maybe all that took was actually trying to be nice, and say some truths where those are needed? Who knew; he'd have plenty of time to think about that later. At the moment... he preferred to dwell on the current moment. "I'm glad you're having fun. I was thinking that maybe I was being a bit too boring or that just brought topics you'd rather avoid in something like a date. What can I say? You've been a ton of fun to hang out with as well."
The nature and intricacies of the different types of digidestined were something utterly fascinating, at least to the dark-haired boy. All while the two exchanged teasing remarks with each other. In a sense, it was nice to see that they could interact so casually when this had been their first meeting; almost felt like they've been acquaintances since long ago, or something along those lines. Overall, the explanation was easy to understand. The concept of spirit evolving seemed to be fairly simple; it was like donning fancy clothes, or doing an activity that you weren't really used to. The fact that you were still yourself was very intriguing, even if not something the boy had any hurry to experience.
"Slithering must be quite the experience, I can imagine. But that's fine." After that sentence was finished, she moved and Labramon himself was beckoned, the dog moved in Wakako's direction, gently plopping beside her; she was just a gift that kept on giving, wasn't she? Today was probably the day he had gotten the most pats in a long while. "I can't say that interacting with a digimon when knowing there's a human behind wouldn't take some time to get used to, but if that's how you feel... I guess I can only hope your digimon forms are as cute as the real deal?"
While there was a definite difference between dating a digimon and a human who could turn into a digimon, the teenager adopted a pensive posture in regards to that. "I guess that'd be... fairly weird, in my opinion. I mean, probably not for the digimon, but most humans in a relationship eventually get to want... something else that digimon can't quite provide, if you catch my drift." He caught his blunder pretty soon, his face becoming a little red at those words. "Probably not a topic for today, honestly! I won't shame people for making their choices, but I feel that wouldn't spin with me. Each to their own, I guess?"
Better to just switch topics before that became muddy terrain. This wasn't something they should be talking about at the moment, especially not on a first date. Eventually, the fireworks died down, and the two humans plus Labramon found themselves staring at a now-empty dark sky. "Wanna remain here for a little more, or would you prefer to do something else? Grab a bite, maybe? Or maybe today was already too exciting for you? I wouldn't mind doing what you want."
