A couple of weeks had passed ever since Kenny moved to Japan and discovered the existence of Digimon, albeit by accident. But with the help of Akari Kinuko and Alan Pantell, the young man, and his dad, started to ease themselves into what were Digimon. It took a bit of convincing, but Skadi was ultimately allowed to stay, provided she would not cause any trouble or hurt Kenny. Of course, Skadi would often boast about how she would protect her partner, but at her size and shape, she didn't look the part.
Ever since then, all 3 had slowly settled into routine. Whenever Michael and Kenny had to go to work, Skadi would often be left behind to watch over the house. After all, it would be too risky to bring her outside, where she could attract more attention than she needed to. Plus, both had to focus on their work, and having her around would be far too distracting, so the best course of action would be to keep her home, often being reminded that she was not to answer the door for anyone.
(Granted, it did help she lacked limbs.)
On days where Kenny was free, however, Skadi would see a bit more freedom. Many times, Kenny would carry Skadi in his bag while going around day to day life in Shibuya. When he went to see a movie, Skadi would often peer out of the bag to watch as well, nobody none the wiser. When out to a restaurant, Skadi would often be fed some leafy greens or some treats to satiate her appetite. And when just walking around, Skadi only would have the zipper open wide enough just so she could see outside. Only in private would Skadi be able to actually get out of the bag.
But most of her time was spent at home. And her time would pretty much be spent by either watching daytime television, or napping. And considering what was on usually during the day, napping was the preferred option. It wasn't uncommon for either father or son to see Skadi taking a long nap after a long day at work. Needless to say, it would cause a bit of envy for Kenny. Oh, how'd he kill to have Skadi's lifestyle, just being able to do what you want, when you want.
But truth be told, Skadi wanted a bit more out of life. Frankly, being stuck in that stuffy house all day long was a bit boring. She wished she could get out of the house sometime, and being stuck in Kenny's bag while they were both going out together. Life had been pretty uneventful at this point, and at this point, Skadi was wishing she could do a bit more and hang out with Kenny more.
---
It was a nice cool Thursday in Miyashita Park. The afternoon sun was up in the sky, the place was clean and tidy, and the leaves were blowing. Perfect day for a nice stroll around this part of Shibuya. Kenny walked along, merely taking in the sight and sounds, with Skadi safely tucked away in his backpack, and carried a small white plastic bag with him. He didn't have to go to work on Thurdays, Fridays, or the weekend. It felt relaxing to just enjoy himself with his new friend.
Deciding to take a break, Kenny set himself down on a nearby bench, with as little people nearby, setting the backpack next to him. He pulled out 2 pieces of onigiri from the plastic bag, chicken schnitzel for him, and cucuumber for Skadi. Quickly unwrapping the cucuumber one for Skadi, he told her, "Skadi, I got you a snack. It's cucuumber." He smiled as he proceeded to put it near where he assumed her mouth was. He was correct, as she proceeded to chow it down quickly.
As Kenny started eating, Skadi let out a small burp, rice covering her face, "That was delicious, Kenny! Thank you!" She beamed looking up at him.
"Heh. No problem, man." He shrugged at her. As he continued eating, he looked at her again. Frankly, both felt like they needed to get it off their chest, "Hey, Skadi, last night, you were talking about... just... wanting to, uh, get out more? Y'know, like in public."
In response, Skadi sighed, "Yeah. I wish I could. But Akari and Alan's right. I can't show myself in public. I could get in trouble. To tell you the truth, I kind of envy you at times." She shuffled, blushing a little inside her bag, "I mean, you get to hang out with your dad, you get to work on those big fancy computers, and... dammit, now I'm even more jealous! I want to go out myself now." She grumbled inside her bag.
Chuckling, Kenny petted her lightly, stroking her woolly body as she did, calming the muttering and mumbling Mallimon down, "I'm sorry, Skadi, I wish I could let you walk around, I mean, if I could let you walk around with me, I would, but you're still a Digimon. Remember what Akari and Alan said?"
"I can't show myself in public, because I need to be kept a secret to avoid drawing unwanted attention to myself." She sighed."But I want to hang out with you more, Kenny. I'm sick of watching daytime TV, it's boring."
Petting Skadi again, Kenny smiled at her, "I'll see what I can do. For now, I think it's best I carry you in this bag. Tell you what, I'll get you a treat on the way home, deal?" He gave her a thumbs up, making the In-Training squeal with approval and beam at him once again.
Suddenly, Skadi felt her ears twitch again."Uh, Kenny. I don't want to interrupt, but I think there's a Digimon nearby." She said,
"A Digimon?" Kenny inquired. He remembered Akari's warning, and her recount of that Digimon she faced, and nearly killed her, that night. "You mean, right here?"
"Yeah, I think so!" Skadi piped up, "But no worries, pal! I'll be able to protect you, no matter what! You can trust me on that!" She proclaimed, puffing out her chest again. In his mind, he prayed to God that she was right, and whoever was out there, it would not come and kill her.

Skitcher scratch. Skitcher scratch. The sound of exoskeleton-covered legs raked against the bark of a tree as it crawled upward. The unseen predator stalked silently, their apathetic gaze directed at their intended prey... a simple squirrel, busy gnawing at a seed as it perched on a branch. A sharp eye would be all that would be needed for Kenny or Mallimon to notice a petite, gray creature attached to the trunk of said tree... it resembled almost like a tick, but this creature was easily the size of one's hand. The way it crawled slowly and silently up was to say the least unnatural, though it was doing so in a manner that the small rodent didn't seem to notice the Arkadimon. That was a fatal mistake. It was only a single moment. A single, bloody moment... but the poor rodent was suddenly skewered by a long-reaching pincer that extended out from an orifice that opened up from the In-Training's back; the corpse turned into data and absorbed into the monster's body without leaving a trace. As it retracted the pincer, its crimson red eyes darted to the boy and the small fluff ball of his. A look of hunger? Hard to tell, but needless to say they had its attention.
The In-Training Digimon Arkadimon has appeared; a helpless squirrel turned into its lunch. Ouch.

Whatever Skadi was referring to, it wasn't exactly keen on making itself incognito. This giant tick-like creature had, while the two were talking, climbed up one of the trees.
Of course, when Kenny and Skadi had turned around, they just happened to lay their eyes on the tick on a tree branch, a pincer-like appendage clearly visible from it's back, stabbing a hapless squirrel and sending it's blood all over the branch and the grass below, only to convert it's body into data to absorb. His heart started to pound like crazy, and he started to break out into a cold sweat. Even Skadi, trying to put on a brave face, was starting to shake a little bit, as the creature retracted it's giant sickle into it's back, like if nothing happened.
And then it just had to turn around and look at them, like if they said something about it's mum behind it's back.
Just it's terrifying glance was enough to freeze Kenny in place. Like, if it managed to effortlessly kill a squirrel with a single hit, just imagine what this thing could do to a human. (Actually, don't imagine that. Especially if you just ate lunch.)
He took a few deep breaths, before looking at his bag-buddy, "Skadi, what the hell is that thing?" Of course, the fact that 1. it turned the squirrel into data, 2. Skadi's ears were twitching harder than ever, and 3. Kenny's first impression of it basically boiled down to holy shit this thing just killed and absorbed a squirrel with that giant appendage was more than enough to tip them off to the fact that this was a Digimon, but it wasn't just any ordinary Digimon Kenny had seen so far.
"That's just the In-Training form of Arkadimon," Skadi said, trying to show bravado in her tone of voice, which betrayed a small wobble inside, "It kills and eats other Digimon, or any other live being for that matter, in order to digivolve further."
"What do you mean 'just the In-Training form'!? That... that thing just killed a squirrel in one blow! That doesn't sound like an 'In-Training' to me!" Kenny shouted in a panic, gesturing to the Arkadimon. He quickly calmed himself down... somewhat, "Sorry Skadi, I'm just not used to... well... horrifying shit like that."
"Don't you worry, Kenny!" Skadi boasted (with that same wobble in her tone), "I'm here to protect you, no matter what happens! Besides, I'm your partner, I wouldn't let any harm come to you!" She wasn't going to admit she was a little afraid of Akardimon, but she clearly didn't want Kenny to doubt her, especially after all her promises of protecting him.
Kenny, however, wasn't going to take any chances with the giant tick monster. Quickly, he leaned over to try and zip Skadi up back into the bag in time. but he started to fumble a bit as the zipper refused to budge a few times, perhaps giving the creature a little bit more time to attack. "Hey! Wharrture doin'?" Skadi mumbled from inside the bag.
"Saving your life, that's what!" Kenny cried, as he picked up the bag, and started to get up. Hopefully he didn't waste too much time to let the creature get to him.
BATTLE LOG Kenny tries to get Skadi away from In-Training!Arkadimon by zipping up the bag and getting up from the bench.

In retrospect, it was not a terrible idea to be hesitant of the overgrown tick; not helped by its alien appearance and its general apathy to its surroundings. It was unlike Skadi or any other Digimon the pair have met so far… the mind of an individual did not reflect in the soulless eyes of this arthropod.
You could practically see the gears turning in the small insectoid Digimon’s mind as it gazed at Kenny, but more importantly the bag that had Skadi in it. It seemed to stare motionlessly at the pair as Kenny struggled to zip up the backpack… before ultimately the creature scampered upwards into the treetop branches, no longer able to be seen. Seems like it just was gonna move on with its day, right?
Wrong. The Arkadimon saw weakness… and weakness was something that it was drawn to.
A horrible, hissing screech could be heard as the monster leaped from the branches a surprising distance, aiming that same pincer from before at the bag that held Kenny’s friend. It saw an easy meal in the form of a fellow Digimon… a feral, endless hunger to evolve being all the drove the small Digimon as it attempted to try to prey on its next victim.
Arkadimon lept from the tree, trying to recklessly stab at the bag with Skadi in it with Data Drain.
Data Drain - Arkadimon opens up a cavity in its body to unleash a sharp pincer to attack and stab at a foe. It is actually not much sharper than a kitchen knife, but for an In-Training level attack it is pretty nasty.

Truth be told at this point, internally, Kenny was starting to kick himself for letting him dally too long, feeling he gave the Arkadimon a little too much time at this point. As he hooked the bag to his shoulder, he looked up to the tree, the monster tick seemingly having fallen off the face of the Earth. Was he dreaming? Was all of this just some sort of crazy dream, and in reality he was still in Parramatta, dozing off at 8 in the morning, and this was all just a reminder to lay off the glass of milk before bed?
As he set off, Skadi in tow, he quickly pinched himself on the arm.
No he wasn't and no this wasn't.
He barely got a few steps off before an ear-shattering screech rumbled from the tree, making him wince, only to see the Arkadimon leap from the branches, pincer aiming for... well, it was honestly hard to tell what it was going for, but whatever it was, Kenny wasn't going to take any chances. As it barrelled towards them, he did whatever any sane person with self-survival instincts would do: try to get out the way.
Quickly, he ducked down and covered his ears, avoiding the blood-hungry creature, but just barely. It's tiny feet barely brushed against the bag, but Skadi could feel it, and she shuddered a little in fear. As soon as it flew over, Kenny got up quickly and started to quickly walk off again, unhooking the bag off his shoulder and wrapping it around his arm, his free hand unzipping the zipper, at least giving room for her to pop out and breathe. She lightly glared at him in annoyance.
"Skadi! Are you OK, man?" He asked the dust bunny, his heart pounding like crazy. He didn't even care that his partner looked a little annoyed, as long as she was safe, but what about Arkadimon? He just opted to keep walking fast, pretending there wasn't a giant man-eating tick following them and hope it would get tired sooner or later.
"Kenny, I told you! I'll be fine! I can handle him!" She proclaimed, puffing her chest out. "After all, it's just an In-Training Digimon..."
"An In-Training Digimon with an effing butcher knife sticking out of it!" Kenny pointed out.
"And I'm the one who's supposed to be protecting you from harm!" Skadi ignored him, "Because that's what we partner Digimon do! I'm supposed to keep you safe, no matter what!" Her expression changed to a more confident look on her face. It seemed that, despite all her fears, this little talking fluff ball possessed quite a bit of moxie for a tick carrying a butcher knife it carried on it's back.
All of a sudden, Kenny's foot suddenly bent, and he started to trip over. He tried to squeeze onto the bag as he fell, but Skadi slipped and fell out of the bag, while everything else managed to stay in. As he fell to the ground, he winced in pain as he tried to get back up. Skadi however, was no worse for wear.
Perhaps the fluff broke her fall.
In fact, her face retained that same confident expression as before, "Okay, Arkadimon! I don't know why you're here, or what you want against us, but if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you'll get!" Kenny felt alarmed at the Mallimon's far-too-crazy-for-her-own-good proclamation, as he tried to get up slowly, wincing in pain as he did so. Even so, the Mallimon, while still shaking a bit, felt ready to take down the tactless tick.
"Skadi, are you crazy!?" He shouted, "That thing has a knife! It's gonna kill you!" He said, as he got back up on his feet and began to try and reach her. Whatever that thing was, he wasn't going to let it turn it into rabbit burgers.
Skadi had other ideas though, wherever Arkadimon would land, she started bouncing straight to it and try and ram into it's body. If it wanted to kill Kenny, it would have to go through her first, whenever it would like it or not.
BATTLE LOG Kenny dodges In-Training!Arkadimon's attack by the skin of his teeth. He tries to run, but trips over.

Moving quick was a key factor in the Arkadimon fruitlessly failing to cut at anything… though it came tantalizingly close. It hissed in annoyance landing on the ground, the sound of its segmented legs skittering behind Kenny… not quite willing to give up a chase.
It had been subsisting solely on small woodland vermin it managed to get into its clutches… tasty, but not even close to the value a Digimon would have to progress its evolution.
Seeing Kenny trip caused it to almost chatter in delight, finally able to get a glimpse of its actual intended target. What it didn’t expect however was to receive actual resistance. Sure it was a Digimon, it was the nature of Digimon to fight… but despite the Mallimon’s fear, something drew her to fight back. Caught offguard, the Arkadimon was helpless towards being slammed by the fuzzball’s body… Sure they were both In-Trainings, but neither were helpless! The arthropod clicked in pain as it was sent back several feet, knocked onto its side as it furious attempted to get back upright.
Such fury offered new horizons… Opened new paths. Digimon were creatures that responded to emotion, and Arkadimon was furious.
The creature hissed at its body became enshrouded by strands of data… in an instance its former body cracking clean in half as a rosy-pink mantis-like creature took its place. Soft and cuddly this thing was not though… a look of anger in the Rookie-level’s eyes as it hissed before extending one of the pincer-like arms it had an unnatural length, aiming to slash at Skadi.
Arkadimon was given a new emotion… sadism.
Arkadimon was hit by Skadi’s Tackle, in anger evolving to its Rookie-level form. It attacked her with Erase Sickle.
[PASSIVE] Data Drain - Similar to its previous form, all of Arkadimon’s physical attacks share the ability to drain the data of foes on-hit. Arkadimon regenerates roughly 20% of the damage it deals through these attacks.
Erase Sickle - Arkadimon attacks with one of the sharp scythe-like pincers it has, aiming to cleave at their intended victim.

Despite Skadi's small size, she seemed to possess quite a bit of strength as she sent the tremendous tick flying. Her ears twitched happily, and her eyes wore a confident look as her bloodthirsty adversary struggled to get back up. Even Kenny was smiling a bit as he saw what happened as he continued over to Skadi and put his backpack back on himself. Maybe this wasn't going to be so bad after all. It'd get the memo and leave them alone.
Oh, if only if was that simple.
As the Akardimon let out another ear-splitting hiss as glowing bits of data surrounded it, Skadi's confident stance began to waver, as a large mutant mantis Digimon - Arkadimon's Rookie form, started to emerge from the body of the tick. Even Kenny's heart started to skip a beat as he mantis emerged from the tick's body. Skadi froze in place, not being able to say or do anything, all her previous bravido gone from the Mallimon as the creature. Clearly, even though it lacked the vocals to convey it, the message was clear: it wasn't going to leave until Skadi was dead.
Kenny started to panic as he rushed over to Skadi as the creature mutated. He had to do something quickly. Anything. Luckily for the both of them, Kenny managed to make it to Skadi on time - just before the creature hissed loudly again, and started to swing its pincer at the paralysed Skadi. She shut her eyes, waiting for the end... just before Kenny managed to pull her away in time.
Well, almost. If there was consolation for the Arkadimon, it did at least manage to lop off some of Skadi's fluff on her left in one clean swipe (read: too close near her true body). Immediately after that, Skadi reopened her eyes as she noticed two things, she wasn't dead and Kenny was holstering her up as far he could, arm wrapped around her, near his neck, away from where Ark. In a brief moment, a new piece of fluff grew back on the part where Akardimon lopped it off. Kenny wasn't going to bother questioning it. He just smiled, relieved Skadi was fine. Thank god she was light.
"Kenny!" She squeaked in joy, nuzzling her tamer on the cheek, "You saved me!" The nuzzles did little to ease the tension building up in Kenny, but it did feel nice.
"That's OK, Skadi." He replied, as he started to reach for a large stick on the ground with his free hand, "Just, just... please don't fling yourself at bloodthirsty monsters without telling me first next time." This made her slump a bit in disappointment in his arm
"I'm sorry. I just wanted to protect you. I saw what happened to the squirrel and I didn't want you to get hurt as well." She bemoaned.
"Look, we'll talk more about this later. Let's just get rid of the crazy mantis thingy first." At this point, Kenny hoisted the stick up in the air, ready to bash the monster's brains in (or at least, knock it out stone cold). If it wasn't going to go away, then something had to be done about it.
It was clear now; Akardimon wasn't going to go away. Not until it got what it wanted. And even though neither knew what it wanted exactly, it was more than clear that Skadi seemed to be a prime target. And if it wanted Skadi, it would have to go through him first. He started to swing the stick down, aiming for Arkadimon's big ugly head that looked like it was begging to be whacked. Several times.
At least according to Skadi.
Kenny barely manages to save Skadi on time, albeit not before Rookie!Arkadimon manages to cut a lot of Skadi's fuzz off first (it grows back but that means nothing when you're completely vulnerable to a mantis with knifes for arms.
Kenny responds by grabbing a stick from the ground and proceeds to try and whack Rookie!Arkadimon on the head with it as much as possible.

For a moment, Arkadimon had thought it had nailed a hit... but to its utter frustration and exasperation, that pesky human that had its meal got in the way and snatched it just in the nick of time. Its efforts only rewarded it some useless fur, something that greatly ticked off the former tick as it shot a stink-eye at Kenny that could be argubly translated as did you really just do that?
Nonetheless, the pink bewitching beast hunched over aggressively... but what it wasn't expecting was the human to start actually retaliating at it. You wouldn't think a stick would help much against some demonic hellspawn bug... but a blunt object was a blunt object. As a certain U.S President once advised... Speak softly, but carry a big stick.
The first hit actually legit spooked the Rookie level, its eyes bugging out almost comically as the stick connected with its face not once, but twice at the creatures's skull before it was able to start trying to defend itself somewhat pathetically as it stepped back. It didn't take long however for the shock to wear off, that infernal temper it had spiking once more.
Thats it. The human dies too.
Mid-swing, the Arkadimon managed to get a cut at the stick... it splitting in two as it hissed VERY angrily at Kenny. Rearing back one of its pincers, it stretched the limb outward in a attempt to stab that pesky human.
Arkadimon was thwacked several times in the face by Kenny, but eventually manages to split in half the makeshift weapon. It attempts another go at Erase Sickle, this time on Kenny!

As Arkadimon flailed around seemingly trying to defend itself as Kenny whacked him a few times, a glimmer of hope emerged on the duo's faces as they realised they were actually doing something to stop it. It was working! Maybe the ugly bug would drop down dazed, unconscious enough so they could stuff it inside a tree and let the birds sort it out. Or at the very least, it would get the memo, and in turn, get lost.
Then Arkadimon managed to regain it's bearings and cut the stick in half. The young man started to sweat a bit as he took a glance at the broken stick.
Maybe not.
If anything, it just seemed to get even more angrier, if it's even-more ear piercing hiss was anything to go by. As it reared it's arm back, only to lunge quickly, most likely going for the kill, he tried to sidestep out of the way to try and avoid the business end of the pincer, still upholding Skadi as far away from Arkadimon as humanly possible, and the stick still gripped in his hand. This time however, he wasn't so lucky.
Arkadimon managed to stab Kenny in his sides, his shirt starting to tear open and a sharp pain starting to ripple throughout his body. In shock, he started to fall over, dropping the stick to the floor and Skadi flying again, herself being flung forward and landing behind Arkadimon, face first with a soft plompth. Pulling herself up (somehow without limbs), she turned around to see what happened and gasped in shock.
Kenny had fallen on his rear, one hand clutching his bloodsoaked side in pain, and Arkadimon's pincer coated in bright red blood, glistening in the sunlight. Luckily for the duo, unlike the squirrel, he didn't convert into data immediately. Unfortunately for Kenny, it hurt like hell.
"Fffffffuuck..." He groaned wearily, blood seeping into his hand. His mind started spinning as more blood started to seep. Quickly, he tried to cover his wound with an untorn part of his shirt. His eyes lay on Skadi, who looked like she was trying to fight back feelings of shock and sadness, tears starting to stream down her face. "Skadi! What are you doing here!? RUN!" He shouted at her.
"I... I can't..." she cried, starting to tear up. "I can't bear to lose you, you're my friend. And if I leave you here, you're going to die. And it's all gonna be my fault!" More tears slowly streamed down her face.
"Well, you're gonna die if you don't get out of here!" Kenny shouted back at her, "Didn't you see what happened with the squirrel!? RUN!"
"I can't..." Slowly, something started to click inside of Skadi. Arceus knew only what, but whatever it was, the Mallimon, despite still showing tears going down her face/body, started to develop an enraged, but determined look on her face, "I won't! You're my part- no, you're my friend, Kenny. I said I would protect you, no matter what happens, and I can't just leave you to die here. You've took care of me and kept me safe this past few weeks. It's about time I return the favour."
Even while his brain spun, a small smile started to emerge on his face. "Thank you... Skadi..." He moaned lightly. The bloodflow started to slow down, but the pain still remained.
Puffing out her chest, she glared at Arkadimon, "Look here, you overgrown flea. I don't know who you think you are, and I don't know why you're here, but you just made a huge mistake. It's bad enough you tried to attack me, but you had the absolute balls to hurt my best friend!"
Her stance grew more determined as she locked her eyes at Arkadimon, "If there's one thing I hate more than ugly fleas, it's anyone who hurts my friends. But don't worry," she chuckled grimly, as white bits of data slowly started to build and swirl around her, "I can pay you back in full, plus interest."
Kenny could only gasp as he saw what was going on, only to see the same white light and bits of data appear in his hands. A small, egg shaped object appeared in clean hand, and a odd, rectangular shaped object appeared in his blood soaked hand. As the light faded from them, 2 devices appeared in his hands: the egg-shaped object faded to be a Digivice, similar to what Alan had, except the body was while and the grips were off grey. while the rectangular one wasn't as familiar. It had a flip screen, a d-pad, and some unmarked buttons on it.
However, the light refused to die down on Skadi, if anything, it just seemed to build up more and more, eventually engulfing her fully. Kenny could only watch while this happened. He didn't know what to do. He didn't know what to say. Skadi however, didn't respond. In fact, all her anger, stress, and sadness seemed to die out as her body started to change shape.
"Mallimon, digivolve to..." the dust bunny called out as she started to grow in size. As Kenny glanced in awe, her body changed quite drastically, growing an egg shaped head out of her white fuzzy body, a tuff of fuzz around her neck, and scruffy hair like fuzz around her black, egg shaped head and obscuring her eyes, accompanied by 2 slits for nostrils and long floppy ears. Emerging from her side were 2 fuzzy 'sleeves' and fuzz serving as her wrist collars. 4 sausage like fingers emerged in each hand, with a small 'paw' appearing in her hand, and out came a fluffy tail. All pretense of her turning out to be a rabbit slowly faded away, however, as black hooves sprouted from underneath her, and 2 small yellow horns emerged from her head.
"Sweet Arceus above... Skadi, what's going on!?" He shouted again. She couldn't hear him however. His brain - and wound - still ached like hell.
Finally, the light dispersed as it flew away from the dust bunny-turned-sheep's body. A confident smile lay on her face, she stood bright and proud, as she looked at Arkadimon with the upmost confidence, all her previous fear and anger gone, replaced with a sense of pride and willingness, her arms akimbo, as she announced her new form's name, "...Valaismon!"
From where he sat. Kenny, despite the pain, smiled. "Skadi... you..."
"I know." She replied calmly, "I'll talk to you in a minute. I have an ugly bug to squish first." Bucking her head down, she rushed towards Arkadimon, head-first, as she announced her attack: "Ramming Headbutt!" Her horns glowed a solid white, and she charged at her adversary, and if it hit... well, he'd be feeling that in the morning, if he felt anything at all once she was done with him.
Kenny gets hit by Rookie!Arkadimon's Erase Sickle and falls down, bleeding and his head hurting. Skadi digivolves to Valaismon, and Kenny gets his D-3 and D-Terminal.

Arkadimon was at its last nerves here... It just wanted a damn meal, but here this human decided to try and get in the way of things! Are humans tasty...? That anger led to curiosity, and curiosity led to a delighted feeling of bloodlust as the pink imp drew blood; a sickening joy seemingly appearing on the creature's otherwise expressionless face.
Previously, it only inflicted pain to feed... but it was realizing watching people in pain was fun. It almost even seemed to let out a trill of amusement, watching Skadi attempt to comfort Kenny... as if laughing at the heartwarming moment.
That bit of bravado and amusement soon faded though... The Arkadimon flinched recognizing the tiny In-Training rapidly Digivolving into a form capable of matching it, it hissing in outright annoyance. Can't they just give up already?
It didn't have time to taunt further or toy with the pair... The demonic bug reared back as it realized it was being charged at, trying to aim one of its pincers at the charging Valaismon in a attempt to slash at her... if successful, destabilizing the sheep's data. Unfortunately for it however, there would have been no way for it to dodge Skadi ramming it head-on; the Bewitching Beast painfully knocked back several feet like a ragdoll, attempting to scrape at the ground to get its footing back
It really went to show that even something as small as the Valaismon, a Rookie level dwarfed the strength of your average human.
Arkadimon attempts to aim their Soul Absorption at the incoming Skadi, attempting to slash at her; they however take the full brunt of Ramming Headbutt.
[PASSIVE] Data Drain - Similar to its previous form, all of Arkadimon’s physical attacks share the ability to drain the data of foes on-hit. Arkadimon regenerates roughly 20% of the damage it deals through these attacks.
Soul Absorption - Arkadimon slashes at a foe with their pincers, destabilizing the data-makeup of the target and making them more easily susceptible to having their energy leeched off. Deals damage and for the next two turns makes Arkadimon leech off double the amount of health off of them with Data Drain. (Cooldown: 2 Turns)

To say that Arkadimon was a psychopath was practically an insult to psychopaths. This monster, in both a literal and figurative way, was practically relishing Kenny wincing in pain after it stabbed him, and now it had the balls to practically laugh in his face as he ordered Skadi to hightail it for her safety?
This thing had to die. Permanently. Allowing it to revert back to a DigiTama was no longer an option.
As Skadi charged at it, Kenny started to regain a bit of clarity again, slowly recovering mentally from Arkadimon's thankfully non-lethal stab... just enough to see her charging at the giant ugly bug, unaware that Arkadimon was ready to slash her again.
"Skadi, look out!" He called to her, but she couldn't hear him. As she rushed towards the maniacal mutant mantis, Arkadimon managed to slice at her side before she sent it flying, her data slowly starting to destabilise as her body started to glitch, and herself falling to the ground. "SKADI!!! Are you OK?" His heart pounded like crazy.
She winced in pain, but pulled herself up fairly quickly, Kenny helping her out, leaning over with a free hand, the other still covering the wound, after putting the Digivice and that other piece of tech onto the ground. A small smile appeared on her face as she saw Arkadimon land on the ground, several feet from where she launched it, then turned to Kenny. Despite her harmless looking appearance, she seemed a lot tougher than she let on. Thank God, Buddha and Arceus above she was on his side. "Me? Hah! Don't worry, Kenny! I'm more than OK!" She lied, her arms akimbo once again, "It's just a little scratch, I can walk it off!" Her destabilising body said otherwise. She knew she needed to keep distance from Arkadimon if she wanted to recover, much less actually kill it. Speaking of, it trying to scratch the ground made the duo turn it's attention to it again. It was trying to get back on it's feet, and Skadi wasn't planning to let it anytime soon, if she had anything to say about it.
She turned her full body around, over to where Arkadimon struggled to get back up. "Better cover your ears for this one!" She warned Kenny. Instinctively, he did, covering his ears (normally with the free hand, but with the outside of his hand with the one covered in blood), just in time for Skadi to announce her next attack: "ECHO BLEAT!!"
And with that, she let out a very loud bleat. Large shockwaves formed from her mouth en masse, as they carried the bleat, all aiming for one target: Arkadimon. If they hit, not only would it hurt, but it would force it down once again. Even if it managed to get back up, it would probably be for naught because they could easily knock it down once again.
Skadi knew what to do at this point: keep it down.
Skadi is hit by Soul Absorption, takes damage, and starts suffering destabilisation. In retaliation, she uses Echo Bleat on Rookie!Arkadimon in a bid to cause damage, and knock it down again (if it gets back up) or force it down again (if it doesn't)
Echo Bleat: Bleats loudly, sending shockwaves at the enemy, which is capable of causing damage and/or, disorientation, including knocking them over on their feet. Flying Digimon may be affected by screwing up their flap patterns from the disorientation, knocking them onto the ground and leaving them open to attack. This latter effect can also affect Champions (albeit not as much), but not Ultimate and above. Does not incur friendly fire. (2 post cooldown).

To say that the gloves were off was an understatement… this fight has only grown in intensity with both Rookies determined to end the other; though for Arkadimon this was out of a perverse desire to taste the sheep Digimon’s data. If it could nab that, Champion level would surely come soon… and then it could hunt even greater prey!
She wasn’t making it easy though… Though it was able to steal a tiny bit of their opponent’s data to heal itself, it was nowhere near enough to negate the damage that Skadi had already done. Even as the pink mantis glared at her as they managed to lift themselves back onto their two feet, the Valaismon was attacking once more with a discordant bleat that rocked the very air. Despite the Arkadimon’s best efforts, they were unable get out of the destructive vibrations’ path, bits of their skin torn off by the sound waves as they struggled to keep on their feet.
It wasn’t able to move much thanks to the attack… but it wasn’t sitting idle even now. Struggling to draw closer, the Arkadimon was trying to get nearer… though they were not seemingly aiming a swipe with those pincers like before. Rather, the insectoid creature had their line-of-sight directly on Skadi as they crossed their pincers as if in prayer. This was most certainly not a prayer though... It was clear they were preparing for something though.
Arkadimon was hit by Echo Bleat and is currently having mild difficulty approaching Skadi. While not immediately attacking, they appeared to be charging for something!

As the ear-bursting bleat hit Arkadimon, small fragments flying off it's body, Kenny uncovered his ears and turned to where Skadi was looking, then at Skadi herself. Despite her body still looking a little destabilised, a small smirk endowed her face as she closed her palm in front of her and she awaited her aggravating adversary to fall over on it's own two feet, only to falter slightly when it turned out it still stood, albeit in a weakened state.
This thing just didn't know when to quit.
Kenny slowly started to get up off the ground. Despite the blood still dripping from his wound (albeit at a much smaller rate), he successfully managed to get up. However, like Arkadimon, he didn't seem to be able to move much himself either, but his head was clearing up more, if anything. But his - and Skadi's - attention was drawn to what Arkadimon was doing: it's pincers were crossed. A confused expression crossed Kenny's face, but Skadi knew something was off. Whatever Arkadimon was going to do, it was more than likely not going to be good.
She turned to look at Kenny to warn him, "Kenny, I don't know what Arkadimon's doing, but I don't think I want to find out..." That slight feeling of nervousness was starting to creep up to her again, but her face wasn't going to show it; in fact, she remained as stalwart as ever. She, no, they came this far, and they weren't going to quit now.
Kenny resumed clutching at the wound again to stop the blood from leaking. It was starting to heal a little, but he just hoped he'd hold out long enough not to faint from blood loss. "Well, whatever's it's gonna do, we better stop it before it's too late." He had high hopes Skadi would stop this menace. After all, she managed to lay quite the hurt on Arkadimon so far. She'd been stronger than she let on. Even through the pain, he gave a small smile to his friend, "I think you know what to do from here."
The small sheep nodded in approval at him, then focused her gaze back at Arkadimon again. There was no more time to lose. Shaking her body, Skadi yelled "Cotton Spores!" Just on cue, dozens upon dozens of cotton balls came flying out of her body and over to Arkadimon, ready to cling onto it, in a bid to interrupt it's attacks. Even if it didn't work, it would at least help impead it's movement a bit more, leaving it a sitting duck to what could be a potential trump card she had up her sleeve.
Right on cue, it felt like a lightbulb went off in Kenny's head. He bent down as gently as he could, still grasping at the wound, and with his free hand, grabbed both ends of the stick Arkadimon sliced at. He leaned his arm back and threw the stick(s) as far as he could. And mentally, he started praying.
If God, Buddha and Arceus were watching right now, this idea would work. Either way, they were determined to take down this menace together.
Skadi notices Rookie!Arkadimon is charging for a potential attack. In a bid to interrupt it, she uses Cotton Spores, which, if they hit, will slow it down, and can potentially interrupt the attack.
Cotton Spores: Skadi shakes her body to release a series of fluffy wool onto her opponent to track down and (hopefully) hit them, meant to slow them down (or at the very least, waste their time trying to get them off). They can cling for up to 2 turns. Works up to Champion. (1 post cooldown)
Meanwhile, Kenny grabs the 2 halves of the stick Rookie!Arkadimon broke, and tosses it at their adversary to hopefully interrupt it too.

The Arkadimon was realizing that it was losing precious time trying to charge this attack, but it was positive that its forms LED Matrix would be all that it would need to get an edge on its prey. They REFUSED to lose to something so weak and inconsequential! Their focus was directed towards Skadi, attempting to slink closer to get a good bead on her… Sure it left them open to the barrage of clingy wool that fairly quickly stopped them in their tracks, but Skadi had their full attention.
Turns out though, that single-minded tunnel vision? The human seemed mostly inconsequential, but the bug was caught offguard once more by Kenny’s intervention.
T w h a c k!
It wasn't enough to cause any actual damage, but that one little action was enough to throw off the insectoid demon's aim. A good thing too as for right beside where Skadi was standing, to her left the gap between her and Arkadimon distorted heavily... and not without no effect! The grass in the affected area actually was straight up disintegrated into raw data, that which was pitifully loaded by the Arkadimon to barely any effect. It was as if a lawnmower just passed by, leaving nothing but bare soil!
The Rookie-level Arkadimon was cursing in whatever foreign tongue they had, their temper raising. Unfortunately for Arkadimon, it wasn't going to be in any condition to be chasing after the sheep with all that wool... the creature attempting to tear off bits of fluff stuck on it, but now it had its attention drawn to Kenny.
This kid pissed it off for the LAST time.
Arkadimon attempts to draw closer to Skadi, taking the brunt of Cotton Spores and slowed down to a crawl. A last minute intervention via Kenny threw off their aim with LED Matrix, they now irritably scrambling to try and slash off bit of the wool stuck on them.
LED Matrix - A weaker variant of the Dot Matrix line of abilities that the Arkadimon line is known for; the user charges up energy and creates a vacuum of distorted space in a shotgun-like cone in front of it, disassembling data and absorbing it when they release the charged pentup energy. Deals heavy damage and naturally restores all damage it deals back to the user (unaffected by other forms of lifesteal), however it take a turn to charge in which the user cannot move. It is also not a conventional projectile, only having a range of 4 or so meters before it cannot affect anything... however the attack hits instantaneously when released, so the only way to avoid it is to get out of that line-of-sight. (Cooldown: 4 Turns)

As the Valaismon's cotton clinged onto Arkadimon like flies onto fly paper, the Arkadimon's focus didn't seem to budge a single bit, despite the cotton slowing it down to what seemed like a snail's pace. Skadi tensed herself, ready to push both herself and Kenny out of the way as a last ditch effort to keep him safe, her own life be damned. But as the sticks hit Arkadimon on the head, she started to relax a little, watching as Arkadimon's energy beam passed by her harmlessly, then quickly turned to Kenny, who the latter smiled and whispered "You're welcome." At least just loud enough for Skadi to hear. She gave a small grin back.
Seems God, Buddha and Arceus were watching after all.
It was not to say that the laser beam wasn't going to leave an impact on her however. Apart from the grass devoured, leaving nothing but dirt, a small amount heat radiated from the beam from where Skadi stood, like if it was taunting her. She shivered a little from that, but her attention lay upon the frustrated fluff covered Arkadimon, who, despite trying to rid itself off the cotton, was glaring daggers at Kenny.
Readying herself, fists clenched once again, she looked over to Kenny with a confident grin on her face, "You stay right there, pal. I got a favour to repay, and an ugly bug to crush!" But before Kenny could say anything, she ran over, close enough to where Arkadimon stood, but not so close that it could reach out and claw at her again, her right fist clenched, looking if she was going to punch Arkadimon in it's face. But instead, her fist sped towards the ground, as she called out "Spiral Pillar!"
As she slammed her fist into the ground, a tremor started to rock the area, both where she and Arkadimon stood. She quickly jumped back a bit, standing where she landed perfectly. Small cracks started to form at Arkadimon's feet, the only warning it was going to get as the giant titular pillar threatened to emerge out of the ground and strike it where it stood.
Kenny could only watch as Skadi punched the ground. He could feel a bit of the tremor near him, but he started to think to himself.
Should I cover my eyes for this?
With Rookie!Arkadimon seemingly distracted, Skadi attempts to go in for the kill with Spiral Pillar, forming an earthquake, and if Rookie!Arkadimon does not get away from the cracks in times, it risks being hit with the pillar.
Spiral Pillar (RAM Upgrade): Skadi punches or stomps the floor, causing a small tremor up to a 7 meter radius, which can disorient everyone except herself. In that radius, a 5 meter spire emerges out of the ground to attack the opponent almost immediately. The only warning they get are cracks on the ground underneath their feet. This attack can pierce Rookie-level defence buffs and passives, and break shields for maximum possible damage. If this attack hits a Champion level instead, then this attack does 50% of the maximum damage to them if they have any passives or buffs active that would otherwise decrease it, or if a shield is active (but does not break it). Ally Digimon may be affected by the earthquake as well (but cannot be damaged by it). However, the spire will never hit an ally. If there are more than one enemy in the radius, Skadi can select who gets hit by the spire, but all of them can be affected by the earthquake regardless, leaving them open to attack from allies. (3 post cooldown)
