A personal mission. What a rare objective for Bero. The sand was stuck in his cloak, the sun had beat down on his black form and heated it quite a lot, But heat didn’t trouble Bero quickly. He had been travelling through the Folder Desert for a while now. No matter how much travelling he did in it, it remained dull and empty. Well, such was to be expected for a desert. Had Bero been smarter, he’d have brought with him some kind of cover to compensate for how his black fur liked to gather heat very easily. But despite all the lack of preparation and the beating sun, Bero had made it close to his destination.
The ruins jutted high above the sands and dunes surrounding them, slanted structures and shifted buildings as far as Bero’s rookie eyes could see ahead of him. Ancient lores, stories, treasures and the like rested here. The imposing aura befitted all the hidden secrets, almost as if a dark cloud of pure information and secrecy wafted out from the structures into the ever expanding desert around, which gladly swallowed up all that information and made it lost to time and sand. Bero’s eyes stared at the structures on the horizon, a mix of determination and tire governing his actions and causing him to stand still as he did.
Freedom, it was such a hard thing to chase down and feel in earnest, when there was always the threat of not being the strongest in the area. Bero felt this weight of restriction given by the world and it’s very laws weight him down ever since the very moment his blue fires became the cape around him. So he quested to become the strongest. He still lives in that quest, as long as it has been, but an important part of that was knowing how far strength went. He was not about ready to change his methods for some fairy tale.
But knowing how far his methods would have to take him and what powers lurked beyond the sight of normal civilian rookies and those who’d accrue power was vital to Bero. He didn’t care if he was the strongest Digimon in the city or region. If there was some hidden force stronger than him, he’d have to overcome that too before he could be free. Never a fan of Ignorance is bliss, Bero had set out to acquire the knowledge necessary to set his goals.
Bero had had enough of standing on the dune he was on, looking at the ruins and introspection. Never a fan of the stuff, but long journeys through unfriendly terrain was enough to drive anyone mad. Bero put one foot forward and one back and made a small hop, sand shifting under his feet before being kicked up in the air in small splashed of little yellow bits of data occupying the air. His feet fell back into the sand and instantly the sand pushed itself aside into dents caused by his feet, although his strategic jump caused the sand to roll more than the small dents initially created. Rolling around his feet, he felt the sand shift around his scales as gravity took him sliding down the side of the Dune, his speed picking up and his cloak lifting in the wind and kicked up sand his surfing left behind him. The sounds of rushing wind and shifting sands hit Bero’s ears, a very constant sound that was easily ignored in favour for one’s own focus and thoughts. His expression didn’t change as he saw sparkles and bits of sand pass by him, surfing down the dune to the edge of the ruins, close to the entrances of the ruins.
Sandblasted structures shone or didn’t shine at all near to Bero’s location, Looming over him with clear size. With proximity, the daunting nature of the ruins had only grown, in Bero’s eyes though, all this history and valuable architecture was just inanimate insignificance. He walked past it, his cloak brushing past one of the structure’s pillars, his body cooling off notably the moment he could find shade from the ruin’s pillars. He would not wait in the shadow for long, but it would help himself to remain in some shade for a bit.

Some old, dusty, and probably long-forgotten ruins. That was the place that Ooi was visiting today; why? Well... she was supposed to fetch something, or at least that had been the instructions that the disguised digimon had been given. In truth? She couldn't care less about the whole deal or why information that had been forgotten for what probably amounted to millennia was any important right here and now.
The arid wind howled, the heat was annoying, and the sand was prickly, but that was little more than a minor inconvenience for Ooi. One step at a time, she advanced almost as if the harsh weather of the desert didn't exist. Was she bored? Out of her mind, especially because the precise location of where she was supposed to go hadn't been disclosed. The 'teenager' had to comb through the desert, and hope to be lucky enough to stumble wherever she was supposed to be. Ain't it exciting!?
Nope. Not one bit. But at least she had stumbled into a place that didn't look like a bunch of sand stacked together. A half-crumbled stone structure stood, not that far away; big enough to catch Ooi's attention, she began to walk in its direction.
With any luck, the trip would be worth it.
Treading through the dunes, the digimon found itself finally setting foot on the ruins. Would the BlackGabumon notice the approaching figure? Had the figure noticed him? At the moment, none of those questions seemed important.
For now, the only matter that Ooi felt deserving of her attention was the dusty path ahead, and the long-forgotten secrets it might hold.

As Bero remained in the shade, he was met with an unexpected issue. A feeling of sheer power dominated him, and he felt himself paralysed on the spot. This teeming energy. It came from something well outside of Bero’s capacity. Bero had hoped to not encounter something like this.. Ever, but here he was. His eyes observed the sunny surroundings, panicked, until a bright shine clarified what the issue present was.
“What do you do here, BlackGabumon?” Bero grunted and as his eyes adjust to the shine, they laid upon a Durandamon, which clearly was already judging Bero. Shit, Bero was not good at making a good impression. There was practically no way in the power of the dark zone itself that this Durandamon wouldn’t see through to Bero’s intent. This was more than just bothersome, this was practically impossible to properly deal with.
“I- I come here for my own reasons.” Bero said, trying to remain as vague and friendly as possible. Sadly, Bero’s ability to lie was about as bad as the desert was dry. The venom and hatred basically spat off of his voice. The Durandamon regarded him with sharp looks and dismay. The sharp, bladed legs were clearly larger than Bero, and could likely easily cleave Bero in half. Bero looked at them as they were sticking into the sand slightly. The real nervewracker was the Durandamon’s literal swordarms though. Those things looked like they’d cleave through more than just Bero, but the environment as well, and from a distance too.
“Your answer is not satisfactory.” Oh for all that is vaccine, he was a stickler for whatever rules he had set in stone. And Bero had no way of knowing these rules. Bero couldn’t help but sneer in annoyance towards the Durandamon’s direction, but he didn’t have the strength to oppose the mega level. Bero wasn’t ready to leave yet though. If necessary he’d camp here until the Durandamon was done with his business and was going to leave. Bero thought to himself how he’d do his next move, and if he’d say anything at all.

So far so good, or at least that's what Ooi wanted to say. The fact that there wasn't anything of note yet was mildly frustrating. Would she really find anything on this place, or was this quest yet another pointless endeavor? Moments like this one almost made her miss the good, old days; the idea of roaming freely, albeit purposelessly, didn't seem that bad at the moment, all things considered!
Her thoughts were abruptly dispersed in the face of the conversation happening at the distance. The voices barely reached Ooi, but she could definitely identify them as real. Turning her body in that direction and approaching to an extent, it wasn't really hard to determine what was really happening. Long story short, a small furry wannabe was probably going to get sliced by an edgy golden boy.
Perfect.
Immediately, she began to draw into the direction of the quarreling digimons, a concerned look evident on her face. "There you are!" The human exclaimed, relief clear on her voice. She closed the gap, then gazed at the BlackGabumon "I was so worried about you! You better not run away like that ever again, okay?"
Just then, her eyes would dance towards the obviously-bigger, and definitely more threatening digimon. "He didn't get in trouble, did he? He can definitely be a handful at times." Ooi's tone was no doubt deeply apologetic. "He was so excited when I told him we're going to explore the ancient ruins that he got carried away and decided to run off on his own. Just managed to catch him."
Would de Durandamon buy the story? Or would the lie be obvious at a glance? Yet, most importantly, would the BlackGabumon decide to collaborate? Or would he be too intimidated or prideful to tell a lie? Ooi's speech had no doubt been a gamble that had its fair chances at backfiring, but that was okay.
It wasn't like she was losing anything, and the potential to be granted free access to whatever the digimon was guarding was too tempting to pass up. Or maybe just the fact that a mega-level digimon of all things could fall to one or two simple lies.

Both the BlackGabumon and the Durandamon exclaimed surprise at the sudden arrival of of a third party, or, as she tried to present herself, the completion of the First party, a sort of companion to Bero. How ridiculous! Bero had no need for Companions, nonetheless, he didn’t have anyone who gets worried about him! Had she mista-Only then did Bero piece it all together. She was acting under a common interest. Wow, was he ever slow on the uptake. He felt dumb, but she was obviously a better actor than he was, so perhaps she could assist him. He just had to pretend to be her digimon, without really changing his personality.
Well, here’s hoping this first lie would go through and be convincing enough. “Well your slow human legs need to start learning to run at all! Should be happy i’m just a Rookie!” Bero’s tone held genuine defiance and anger in them. It was everything that came naturally to him. He huffed at her pretend concern and crossed his arms, looking away. There was no sweat on his brow for this lie, as long as he just pretended to be himself in a different situation, it shouldn’t be too hard.
The Durandamon was surprised by the way she spoke and behaved. “Such an oddity for such a nice girl to be paired with a… spitfire personality.” Bero took offense, but the fear of being opposed and talked down by a digimon clearly much stronger than him was way, way stronger than the feeling of Offense. “What are you then here for? And… Why is your partner so excited? I have an inkling he wouldn’t be the one to tell me.”
Bero was nervous. He was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and it was all dependant on this human’s random lying where he would end up next. On her whim, he could be sentenced to his death right here and now, just by what she told this Durandamon. So this is what real fear felt like? He needed to hide it, and he tried his best, but cold sweat rolled down his cheeks...

For a second, the atmosphere felt truly tense. A calm, yet slightly awkward smile slowly made its way towards Ooi's features while she concentrated in the Gabumon's words. The small digimon had decided to play along; while that wasn't really necessary, it made for a more entertaining situation overall.
"It's not my fault I can't keep up, you know! I've already told you that humans are kinda weak when compared to digimon. Jeez..." Her tone showed that she was more than used to his antics, including the obvious annoyance he displayed. "Taking it easy for a change is not gonna hurt you, and it'd prevent for my legs to fall off. Everyone wins, right?"
Overall, the teenager didn't mind it all that much. Her eyes danced from him to Durandamon. "He's not so bad if you ask me." A small shrug punctuated her answer. "Or maybe I have gotten used to it? I don't really know; Anyway! Thing is that he gets a bit eager when it comes to this kind of journeys. He means well, but it's just that... he's gotta polish the execution a little bit."
A somewhat subtle way of getting back at him; it wasn't like Ooi was going to just accept the Gabumon's insults like nothing! "So, let me explain the whole situation." After a small pause and a deep breath, she began the 'tale'. "We were resting from our travels at Rustport and we overheard a traveling company talking about some ancient ruins that recounted the tale of an ancient, yet unimaginably strong digimon from ages past."
Progressively, the smile adorning the girl's face turned into a smirk. "You've heard the small guy already; even if he's a bit rude, he's got a soft spot for epic stories about ancient digimons and their exploits in combat. Imagine how excited he was as soon as he discovered that he could unearth one on his own!" Somewhat earnestly, she patted the Gabumon's head. "I guess I could consider myself lucky I was even able to catch up with him. He probably would have reached the Tundra by now if that's where he was supposed to go."
A somewhat succint tale, yet credible enough. How would that go?

Her act was flawless, and she instantly started continue the friendly play. Bero retorted to her description of humans being weak and him having to take it easy with a non-committal roll of the eye. He didn’t care for her so called weakness! And this attitude hardly progressed the lie! Well, okay, he supposed creating the atmosphere was important for the lie.
Bero could not believe it. He was supposed to be ‘not so bad’. He was supposed to ‘mean well’. Could he twist this information in some method that it fit his personality better and he wouldn’t have to lie as intensely? He’d probably have to try, which he would. “Polish the execution?! Hah! People will see me for what i am when I'm stronger and helping their asses left and right!”
Saving people… well, it wasn’t something he excluded as possible. The Durandamon was surprised at this revelation. This Blackgabumon claimed to have good intentions, a good reason to desire his strength. He scrutinized the Blackgabumon closely, before the human continued her story. A brash young Digimon who loved stories, wanted to be a hero… The pieces fit together, even if some Digimon would consider it odd for a Virus… if a Virus was to be a hero, Durandamon could definitely picture this being the way how.
Bero was then patted on the head, considering his short stature, something that was very cute. Bero, did not agree with the cuteness, and shortly ignited his cape aflame due to the pats, but the fires rescinded shortly after. The Durandamon confirmed his thoughts. “Very well. It makes sense. I do hope you can… help him with his execution. No Digimon in their right mind will think he’s a Hero with his uh… mannerisms.”
Bero sneered in reply, but saw his chance to move onwards. He focused on Ooi, and following her, as the Durandamon moved to the side, making it possible for the two to pass him.

At least the small Gabumon was collaborating with this small ploy; he was definitely smarter than what he looked! Or maybe he just enjoyed their new partner-tamer antics. An entertaining show, to say the least.
"Aw, come on." Ooi waved her hand, a bit dismissively of the Gabumon's 'eagerness'. "That's a very funny way of saying that they'd be thankful. That'd be nice, wouldn't it? I'd say that you're well on your way to accomplish that!"
The teenager took a deep breath while the Durandamon regarded them. The ruin's guardian was no doubt an interesting digimon, at least in the sense that he seemed to have a pretty interesting code regarding who got to pass through and who didn't. Was the secret this place hid so important to appoint such a powerful guardian?
Guess they'd have to find out.
Quickly withdrawing a hand after the sudden reaction to being patted, Ooi couldn't help but smirk at the following developments. It seemed that the whole act had been successful! "Believe me when I say that I've been trying to help him with that. Won't promise anything, but you can count on me trying my best. Thanks for letting us through!"
A wave of the girl's hand was deemed as enough of a goodbye to the digimon, and soon enough the duo found themselves advancing. It took her a moment, but once the digimon made sure they were out of the guardian's hearing range, a much less casual tone would be employed against Bero.
"So. Any reason for you being here? Can't say you weren't convenient; might even keep you around if you don't get in the way."

Bero let out a notable ‘harumph’ and ignored any further commentary on his delivery. Crossing his arms and pretending to be fussy with the tamer. Well, he didn’t have to pretend much, he really wasn’t happy with the things the Tamer told him, but his sheer anger could at least pass for friendly disagreeing.
Durandamon regarded them carefully, but could see no gaps in Ooi’s acting, so the two would simply walk by with Durandamon having an unsure expression on his face. Well, to him, he had made his decision, and he was not about to back down on it. That would be just as much against his code. Besides, if the other expedition group he came to protect ran into trouble, he was confident he’d get there in no time.
But now the focus was returned to the two liars who had just tricked their way past someone who probably could’ve killed them both within an instant if they so desired. She regarded Bero in a way he only wished he could regard her too. She had been useful, to an extent. “Me? I’m here for exactly what i said i am. To become stronger… or rather, i plan to be the strongest, so i want to get an idea of what that strongest is. And why are you here, Human?”
Ooi could tell from an instant that there was no love lost between him and any humans. Bero was pissed he considered himself in a bad position to try attacking her, otherwise he gladly would’ve, like he did to most humans he could lure out alone. He was here with a purpose, and that was not to get sliced up by a Mega.

Momentarily pondering the nature of the whole encounter, Ooi couldn't resist smirking. Even if not even a temporary agreement, the dynamic between the two beings was amusing; without taking into account how useful he had been to avoid the Durandamon's judgment, that was more than enough to keep her entertained.
A cunning individual, or a simpleton who quickly adapted to the situation at hand? Probably a mix of both, if she had to provide a judgment regarding her impromptu companion. "Aw, come on, little guy." Her expression was almost predatory. Could it be that she was having fun? "Is there any need to be so stiff? We've already gotten past the goldy slash edgy annoyance; you can relax now."
Right afterward, she waved her hand in an airy gesture. A relaxed atmosphere was a good one, right? "I'm here to retrieve what I guess is an old stone or whatever. Not so sure of it myself, but that doesn't really matter right? The true joy's on the ride, not the destination. Gotta say that small stumble had been the most entertaining moment I had in a while."
Especially when compared to following some dumb human senselessly. That could grate on her nerves so much at times, or even physically injure her. Those monkeys had definitely made a number on her, for better or worse; she still wanted to rip each of their throats out.
"Guess that means you're a bold one." She remarked, her tone nonchalant. "Unless you have an ace under your sleeve, coming to ancient places where pretty strong digimon fought is either very brave. Or very stupid; goldie could've sliced you there if he wasn't pleased by your answers."
She shrugged, almost as if her own words had next to no importance. As the duo advanced, the remains of a massive structure could've seen. Maybe a great temple, or even a palace? It was hard to say, considering that most of it had been leveled. Keyword being most; it would've probably been hidden by the building's golden age, but a pretty clear passageway into the underground could be appreciated if one looked around enough.
"By the way, do you have a name? It'd be kinda lame if I kept you calling 'that angry Gabumon'?"
Not like Ooi had referred to Bero with that nickname, but it was never too late to begin!

She seemed to ask him to relax. This really couldn’t fall on more deaf ears. It was like Bero didn’t have real ears. Like it was just fire raging in his eardrums with it’s constant roiling noise. Okay, all the unnecessary fire metaphors aside, he heard it, but had ignored it just as he had ignored everything she said earlier. He couldn’t raise a claw against her as long as the Durandamon might come for revenge. So bothersome.
“While i suppose i do appreciate the nickname you gave the Durandamon, i have no intentions to relax. And yes, I see now that I may have underestimated the average digimon that would occur here… But that doesn’t mean I shouldn't at least finish what I set out to do for now.” He was confident in his skills to run away from most enemies, thanks to his nigh endless determination and the extra agility having four rubbery arms gave him. He looked at the large desert ruins around them, the mighty things like temples and structures long lost to the digital world. Erosion had worn them down, stripping them of any value. Bero started walking around one of the temples though, eventually finding a spot where the sand went lower. It looked to lead into some tunnel under the temple, and Bero seemed interested.
“The name’s Bero. you’re only getting it cause you helped me proceed into here. Don’t expect any more favors though. Your… ‘stone’ is of no interest to me.”

Ooi's nose was scrunched a bit at the Gabumon's response. It was painfully obvious that he had no idea who he was talking to, but that was fine. And expected, considering how Durandamon had fallen for it as well, and he was a couple of levels higher.
"You're no fun, little guy." She commented, somewhat offhandedly. "'While I suppose I do appreciate' your collaboration for that small attempt at trickery, the fact that you're such a stick in the mud is making me regret the outcome just a bit, you know? And I thought I had found a kindred spirit over here, not just some opportunistic utilitarian. What a shame..."
Hands went back to rest on the back of the girl's head, a bit of a carefree smirk finding its way towards her face. "Single-mindedness towards a goal you want to attain is probably the most boring thing ever. If you can't enjoy the road there, what's the point? Chances are you're gonna set your sight on another objective as soon as you accomplish your current one, and devote the same energy to it. Where's the fun in there? Might as well evolve into a machine digimon and call it a day."
Was she mocking him too much? Probably, but she was doing it precisely for the reasons described above; their journey would've just been a tad too boring if she let Bero manage the rhythm of the conversation. Like, seriously; even the Durandamon seemed to be better at conversation, despite his whole guardian schtick!
Eventually, the duo found a tunnel of sorts around one of the many temples; at least it looked like they were hot on the clue of whatever they were searching!
Ooi surely didn't look like she cared about it a lot. Instead, she focused on pushing the small digimon's buttons. "Don't worry; chances are that you might be the one needing a favor from me, anyway." The smirk was maybe a tad too fast at returning to her lips. "I wouldn't be surprised if there were more guardians further down, ready to probe us on our 'partnership'. If I have learned anything over the years, is that the goody-two-shoes kind loves two things; their so-called 'superior' morality, and finding like-minded individuals to enforce it. A drag, isn't it?"
She made a pause, her expression momentarily becoming a bit of a frown at the mention of the 'stone'. "Oh, the stone. Don't worry about it. Truth is that I don't care a lot about it either. And I can probably take care of it at any moment if I wanna, so I don't mind making it wait a little more. I'm sure the thing has a lot of patience, considering the time it has been here."
If they advanced, the duo would discover that the tunnel became larger and wider, the more they advanced. Funnily enough, it was almost as the place where they were being led to was actually larger than the temple itself. But... to find that one out, they'd have to walk a little bit more.

Her every tone and choice of words was bothersome to Bero. Although… it didn’t sound like most humans, but then again. Humans were all illogical and not properly connected. She believed in some sort of wash story of the importance of a journey rather than the goal. “Even if that were true or applicable, what if the goal was the necessity to continue journeying in the first place? Or to enjoy anything at all? Not so flawless theory you have there.”He almost spat his words at her. No like for her and her weird human ways. But at least she had something worth noting. An agreeal to help him with further problems, should they arise. “Ugh, you’re insufferable! Fine! It’s not like i see to benefit much more from attacking you now. I am not following you to your Dark-Area-forsaken stone though.”He threw up his arms in irritation, but as they got deeper and it got darker, a soft fwoosh sounded out in the temple hallway before he lit up like a blue torch, lighting up the surroundings. The cave had indeed gotten wider, but Bero’s interest seemed to mostly be connected to the walls. His eyes scanned over them, looking for pictographs of interests. A lot of it was code and stuff much more complicated than the simple pictures they saw, data storage which ran deep. Even as Bero observed them, their data reacted and blue lines of code zipped over the walls for short moments. But nothing conclusive came out of the wide tunnel they were in. Bero was searching the walls for something specific, scanning past the digicode and pictures. No luck here. He’d have to go further inside. He had no patience for Aoi, moving on and allowing her to catch up by her own machinations. He didn’t care if he left this place with or without her, after all. “Nothing here, Sukamon. This Spaghetti’d mess of a trek better not be useless…” The deeper they went, the more intricate the architecture would get. Their first situation of branching paths would arise to them, Bero closely looked at each path to help his decision.

Well, talk about surprises! It seemed like the Gabumon could think on his own, and seemed to be reasonably astute while at it. For somebody who looked like a mere simpleton, he had some strong opinions regarding what could be considered a complex topic.
"I never claimed to have a flawless theory." She admitted with a small shrug. "Just like my viewpoint is more worthwhile than yours. And hence, better. Given the conversation at hand, that should be good enough, don't you think?"
A cheeky answer, and probably something that Bero didn't expect. But it wasn't like Ooi cared all that much about holding a debate with the Gabumon. "Pointless to discuss corner cases when it's obvious I'm right and you're wrong." That might've been too much, but the truth was that she didn't care all that much. As long as it was entertaining, there was no reason for her to stop
Logically, Ooi's comments had the desired effect, the Gabumon not taking a lot of time to demonstrate his frustration towards her; not exactly the plain, but it wasn't like the human could complain about the result. A smirk was already obvious on her face. "That's a nice compliment. I think you're mildly insufferable as well, and it wasn't like I asked you for help on anything, mind you. Still, having those thoughts at the top of your mind is kinda heartwarming; I didn't know you cared so much about me..."
Their journey down went just as expected; the path became darker, and while Bero was kind enough to provide the needed illumination, it seemed like nothing noteworthy was ahead, at least for the time being; sure, maintaining her companion's pace was a bit on the hard side considering that he was purposefully maintaining a rather brisk pace, but that was just another colorful detail in their journey. Ooi had to admit, this was the most fun she had in a while.
"Doubt it'd be useless. After all, you got to meet me, right?" It just wouldn't stop, would it? "That's probably more important than whatever you're looking in this place." Considering that she had 'saved' his life from that Durandamon, that might've been actually true. But then again, getting the digimon to admit that wasn't possible.
They eventually reached a branched corridor. What would be the right choice? Was there a wrong choice? At least Bero seemed to take the implicit riddle with the seriousness it probably deserved. What about Ooi? "I think it's the right path."
Why had she chosen that direction? Nothing more than a whim.

Wow, she was good at being insufferable! He really really wanted to punch her! Was this how other digimon experienced him when he taunted them?
Good. Maybe he could actually learn to be even better from her. After he’s thrown her into a trailmon headed to Terminal city so she could go back to her dumb home. He muttered to himself. “Preferably from atop a skyscraper.”
His irritation was boundless, and for once, he wasn’t punching the cause. All this human did was act like a wise-ass and better than others. “At least I know where your framework-snapping acting skills come from. You’re definitely just as horrible as i.”
With her attitude? It couldn’t be possible that she was a good and nice person. As they had gone deeper, her attitude had not changed. She sassily said that he got to meet her, and spoke of how important that was. Bero’s eyes could not be more disinterested and annoyed. Had it been so that digimon had proper souls, Bero was pretty sure his own soul would be leaving him right now. He hoped it would flip off the girl along the way. “Fine. This whole trek is less than useless, it’s been detrimental. You have my unending ‘appreciation’.”
When the two entered a split, the flickering blue flame of Bero's cape being the only light they had to light up their features, the world around them taking a strong hue, She had decided by a split that the right was the right way to go. What was that? “Some kind of human intuition? I say we don’t trust it. You people don’t belong in the digital world, and your instincts merely serve to get yourself killed somewhere where you don’t belong.”
He looked down the left entrance and his fire lit up the walls. There were the first tales of legends, heroes and the like. Exactly what he was looking for. Engrossed in the story, he started progressing ahead, ignoring Ooi to read the glyphs.
