Morning. Ramona the Wormmon poked her head out of her tree-come-home, letting out a loud yawn and a few tuts following afterwards. She was quite the heavy sleeper, having slept until 10AM in the morning... at least on days where she didn't have to join Kenny and Skadi on their little adventures. And Jesmon Christ Mode willing, she would relish it.
She looked around for a bit from within the confines of the tree. A perfectly normal day. Just a bunch of children playing around in the streets, someone doing gardening, and a small brown box laying at the foot of the entrance. "Hm, I don't remember anyone here ordering anything online before. I wonder what it is." She inquired to herself. Checking quickly to see that the coast was clear, she climbed out of the trees and made her way to the box.
As she got closer to the box, she started to hear weird gurgling noises from within, only getting louder the closer she got to it. "This doesn't sound right..." Ramona pondered. She approached the box, before inspecting it. There was nothing on the box. Literally nothing. No address, no 'return to sender', nothing. Was it a bomb? Well, bombs don't gurgle, so it wasn't likely to be one. She opened it gingerly, keeping herself on guard in case something like an Arkadimon, or Tsumemon was lurking in there. There wasn't. Instead, a small Pichimon was sleeping in there instead, comfortable and deep in slumber. Understandable, it was a newborn after all.
Why a box? Ramona wondered, scratching her head, I thought this thing would've hatched out of a Digitama or something. I need to tell Kenny about this. She holstered the box with one claw, and rapped on the door with the other, hoping either Kenny or Skadi would respond as soon as possible.
It was Kenny who answered the door finally, having gotten up from using the computer to do some work, Skadi following him from behind. "Hello?" Hem and Skadi, was greeted by the sight of Ramona holding a box, with a weird fish-like Digimon sleeping inside. With a look of confusion, he pulled out his D-3 to scan the fish inside:
Name: Pichimon
Level: Fresh
Attribute: None
So it was a Pichimon then. "Ramona, why are you carrying a box with a Pichimon inside?" Kenny asked her. Skadi walked close over to Ramona and Pichimon, going to take a closer look.
Ramona just shrugged, "Your guess is as good as mine. I just woke up and I found this box on the doorsteps outside. It doesn't look sick... or hungry... or anything for that matter."
Meanwhile, Skadi peered inside the box to take a good look at Pichimon, before turning back to Kenny, "And it's completely harmless, too. Pichimon can't really do much except blow bubbles in your face. So I don't think there's anything to worry about."
"Still, that doesn't explain a baby fish somehow surviving on land, never mind a cardboard box," Kenny pointed out, "Come inside, you two, we'll discuss what to do with it. I don't think my dad would be happy with bringing a random wild Digimon indoors." He turned around and went back indoors, Skadi and Ramona following suit willingly, Pichimon still sleeping all the while
While Kenny filled the bowl up with warm water, Skadi took a seat while Ramona put the box on the table. As Kenny put the bowl on the table, he looked to Ramona, "Hey Ramona, mind waking Pichimon up? I don't want to frighten him or anything."
"Will do." Ramona said. Leaning into the box, she slowly and gently nudged Pichimon, "Wakey, wakey, sleepyhead." The Pichimon blinked a few times, before yawning, and throwing it's arms around the edges of the box to pull itself up. Slowly, it looked around, trying to get a grasp of it's new surroundings.
"Heh, I gotta admit," Kenny chuckled, "Pichimon's actually pretty cute, if you ask me." Pichimon hadn't quite caught that, it was too busy waking up himself. Skadi smiled too. It was pretty relieving that it wasn't anything dangerous or life-threatening.
"Agreed!" Skadi interjected, "It feels nice that we aren't dealing with another annoying Digimon for once." That earnt her a glare courtesy of Ramona, "I didn't mean you, Ramona. Anyway, Kenny's right. We can't just keep Pichimon, we need to find a good home for it." She walked over to the Pichimon to put him in the bowl.
As Skadi said this, the Pichimon's vision gradually restored itself. It gurgled happily, for no known reason. At least it didn't sound angry. In fact, it didn't even seem to mind the fact it called the tiny box it's home. However, it shivered slightly. After all, boxes weren't exactly known for their warmth. And while the ventiation was fine, most likely a body
Skadi went to pick it up, as she said "Come here little fella, I'm not going to bite." But as she grabbed onto it, Pichimon squealed in shock and wiggled and flailed recklessly, hitting nothing but empty air. Skadi struggled to hold onto it, tightining her grip as hard as possible to get it there. However, Pichimon was actually quite slippery, as if her trying to keep a grip on it was showing. She tried to keep hold of it as she walked over to the warm bowl of water, but Pichimon won out, as soon enough, it slipped right out of her hands like a wet bar of soap, and flew right towards Kenny. Almost immediately, Kenny instinctively tried to grab it, and he did, but Pichimon slipped around in his hands again, the brown haired boy scrambling to keep a hold of him, before it slipped out again, flew up again and started to fall towards him. He tried to catch it again, but it was too late. It slipped through his hands and flew near his neck.
"WhhhaAArgggh!" Kenny yelled as Pichimon flew into the collar of his shirt, and landed on his belly. While everybody knew Pichimon was a practically harmless Digimon, not capable of hurting anything, at all, it felt cold to the touch, thanks to it's skin. His arms outstretched, himself breathing heavily and Pichimon not making a single move, Kenny just didn't know what to do, other than to only shiver and mutter, "It's so cold... It's so cold..."
Ramona could only look on with awe, while Skadi approached Kenny with trepidation, not wishing to agitate Pichimon, "Kenny, I'm so sorry, are you OK?" He could only look over to Skadi, and nod, as he continued to mutter and shiver. "Okay, don't move, we don't want to agitate it, and..."
Too late. All of a sudden, with a loud squeal, Pichimon attempted to scramble up Kenny's belly to escape in a panic, which resulted in Kenny bursting out into a fit of uncontrollable laughter while he wiggled around, while Skadi stepped back in surprise, in case he accidentally hit her. Ramona could only chuckle at this sight, "SKAHAHAHAHAHAHADI!! RAMONAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! HEHEHEHELP ME! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" But the more Kenny wiggled, the more Pichimon scrambled to get up, and got knocked down slightly, forcing it to climb again, so the more Kenny was tickled. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! SKADI, HURRYAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
He couldn't win.
Even Skadi was in titters at this point at watching this funny sight, before it evolved into full-on laughter. It took her longer to get over to Kenny proper again, still stuck in her own fit of laughter, leaving her poor tamer to be tickled a little bit longer by Pichimon (Although admittedly, she was also deliberately stalling herself just because she loved just how silly her own Tamer was looking right now, and frankly, it was good for her not to worry her Tamer was in any mortal peril with another Digimon for once in her life).
Ramona burst out into laughter herself, laughing at the sight of the Pichimon tickling the hapless tamer by accident. In fact, the only one not laughing was Pichimon, who was now frantically scrambling to get up to the top and out as soon as possible. It wasn't working, it just made him laugh harder, making it nigh impossible for him to get Pichimon himself.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! PITCHIMOHOHOHOHON!!! STOP IT, AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" By now, tears had formed in Kenny's eyes, but the tickling failed to seize. Pichimon still thought the exit was the collar on which it entered, and simply put, was only trying to climb up through there in sheer panic.
Skadi herself was still laughing as she finally got over to Kenny, leaned over, reached into the bottom of his shirt, and pulled Pichimon out, before putting it in the bowl of water with a little splash, quickly as possible. It squealed happily in response to the warm water in the bowl, while Kenny slumped back down on his chair, letting out a few leftover giggles.
Panting in exhaustion, Kenny pulled himself up, turned to Skadi and pet her on the head, "Thanks Skadi." He said with a smile, "But please don't mention this to anybody else. I don't want to die of public embarrassment." Although calming down from that, merely thinking about that tickling did make him giggle a little bit himself. He genuinely did find it funny, but he wasn't going to admit it out loud to anybody anytime soon.
"But it was funny!" Skadi insisted, while Ramona and Pichimon nodded happily, as if to agree with her.
"I know." Kenny could only smile and chuckle at himself. With that, he rearranged himself, and wiped the sweat off his brow. "Anyways, I think we need to take him over to the Village of Beginnings ASAP. Honestly, I think Cherrymon might be worried right now. Luckily I'm off today. I've all the time in the world. So who wants to go off for a little adventure."
"Sounds fun to me!" Skadi replied cheerfully. She always loved those little trips to the Digital World with her Tamer. And hey, it may not be something big, epic, or heartpounding, like plenty of times, but a fun adventure was still a fun adventure.
"Eh, better than being stuck in that stuffy tree all day." Ramona shrugged contently. Pichimon clapped happily in joy too. For being what seemed to be a mere hatchling, it seemed all-too-keen to go adventuring with the group.
"Great. Then it's settled." Kenny smiled. Getting out of his seat and pulling out Ramona's DigiMemory from his Digivice, he tapped her on the head with it, storing her inside of it, before inserting it back into his D-3. Skadi grabbed the bowl as well, Pichimon in tow. Holding his Digivice in front of him, Kenny cried out "Digi-gate, open!" With that, the portal opened, with Kenny, Skadi and Pichimon going through, the portal closing almost immediately afterwards.
"You know, Kenny, I think I found a great idea for a potentially new prank." Skadi chuckled slyly.
"Don't even think about it..." Kenny quipped in response.
