“No freakin way!”
Had been Talia’s first reaction upon her boyfriend mentioning someone from his stupid science club, yep that’s right, the same one she had so much come to resent this time. Don’t get her wrong - the fact both Carlos and Toki said positive things about the digimon doctor at the library probably spoke volumes about his quality of work but once finding out who the cat associated himself with the woman was far too biased by her own bitterness to do anything but refuse to go right off the bat no questions asked. “But Talia you aren’t going there to play Pin the Tail on the Donkey with them, you’re just going to get looked at. This way we at least have a lead!”“No thanks!”
Sensing her human’s anger Tohru had tried to see the positive in this situation in an effort to metaphorically diffuse some of the fire. “It’s not worth it if I have to go...there.” For Talia it was a very sore subject and for the rabbit very much like taking a toddler for their first haircut. “Besides you get a lollipop if you behave at the doctors!” As much as she adored the dragon, this was a situation refined sugar couldn’t fix for once. “I don’t care about candy or leads, this place is huge, we can go somewhere else, from THAT one!” That in as the large building they were standing in front of. It’s mere presence alone was enough to make her let out a pouty huff as she gave the boy whose hand she was holding a hardcore sideeye. “I don’t even know why I listened to you since you’re taking me to your glorified sex house. Whatever, let’s get this over with.” She’d never told anyone, not even Tohru, but Talia was actually quite frightened of this condition and what was going to happen. Part of her wanted to accept her incoming doom, another part of her felt she wasn’t ready to give up yet. It was an urge driven by the wonderful friendship of the bunny and the dragon beside her, the two who were always at her side no matter what and had proved to her time and time again that good friends and loyalty did exist. “Well even if you don’t like it I’ll be with you the entire time so you won’t be alone Talia. And Carlos, Dio, and Simba will be here too!” Despite that the human had made a mistake (in the form of miscommunication as opposed to infidelity - humans who had multiple coitus partners always carried a bunch of different scents - but that was a lesson of trust for Talia to discover on her own eventually), it was clearly by helping the girl that he was tryng to redeem himself and showed that he cared. For that Talia could have cut him a little slack. “Hmph,” was the only response the rabbit got before they went inside. The walls were metal and thick like the place was designed to withstand nuclear warfare and were it not for the surprisingly homely furniture (probably to counteract what would be cold walls otherwise) that clearly indicated a family lived here. "Way." Was all the man replied to the pale girl's complaining. They had already agreed on doing this together a while ago, and he wasn't interested in letting his significant other get cold feet at the last second. There was no walking around it, she needed to get help from someone that actually understood weird digital phenomena, and who better to do so than someone from the Field Club? At least, that's what he had thought, but there was still the whole...general disdain Talia felt towards them, seeing them as the sole reason they had grown distant in the past month or so.
So her pouting and cursing was to be expected, but even Carlos couldn't help but groan and roll his eyes at the term "sex house", while Dio of course, snickered like a teen at the use of the s word. Her refusal was starting to get rather aggravating. Had it not been for the fact this was Talia's health he would have worried about the looks they would give him when he dragged someone into the Library like this.
"Talia, this isn't about that anymore, this is about your health. I'm not staying put while you're like this and in possible danger if I can help it." He said as he continued not so much leading but rather dragging the girl into the mobile base, all the while adding, "Besides there's like three good reasons this could never be a sex house, much less mine." Would it be too blunt if he said that most if not all the other girls in the club had no such interest in him?
Or males in general for that matter? Probably something that was better told with some more tact than that. As they entered the Library it became clear most if not all of the members weren't around, or maybe were just sleeping. Things seemed to quiet.
"Doc? Anyone home?" Dio called out, his voice echoing down the metal corridors as they looked around trying to find the Mikemon, probably the one other club member Talia wouldn't be immediatelly hostile towards by virtue of...not being a human, most likely.
"We uh...kinda need help with a checkup."

Um, sure... just make sure its on my off day, alright? I'm pretty full-up this week.
Talk about a favor right out of the blue! Thankfully, Carlos managed to catch Dr. Mikemon at a good time when he made his request, even if the reason for it was something that wanted to make him roll his eyes out of his head. First Haru, then Cassandra, now this... was there just something about humans not being able to stay in their own species anymore? With the number of cases and variants he was starting to see, he briefly wondered if he had specialized in the wrong field.
Well, either way, Mikemon was waiting in his office, and Stingmon, aloof as ever, sat in the waiting room at the front behind a small desk. He found himself pouring through a four month old magazine, attention briefly flicking to the door as Stingmon came to their section of the library. "Hm - oh, right. Hey, Dio." Giving a nod to the Impmon, his attention was soon drawn to the white-haired tamer. "Right, one second. Doc?" He pressed a button: "Your seven o'clock is here."
"I'll be right up..."
And just a moment later, the door would open right up, the cat lazily rubbing his eye against the back of his glove, nodding towards the five people and 'mons now standing in his office.
"And you three must be... Talia, Sohru and Simba, right?" The cat was close, at least. "Give me a quick run-down of what I'm working with, here. I only have the gist of it."

She tried to pull away while the taller man practically yanked her along but thanks to their height and body composition difference the woman was no match for him. It probably didn’t help either this condition seemed to make her easily tired too. “Well maybe it…” Talia started to snark something but she trailed off halfway, partially because she was feeling too drained to keep arguing and partially because she was worried what she was going to say would be too hurtful. “Whatever, just whatever. Thanks I guess.” He never did explain where he’d gone in the months he’d ghosted her so what he did expect for her to assume when she found out he was in a club with a bunch of women? “You just don’t know what girls are like, that was really shitty you know? We established a relationship and then you just went and disappeared without a trace! I wouldn’t have even cared about the club if you’d at least kept in touch with me.” He just never would get it though.
“That would be us.” For whatever reason (as most might be) Talia was surprised when the petite (and frankly quite adorable) cat showed up in the office. So much so that it took just about all she had to be respectful and not pet him but rather try and treat him like the doctor he apparently was. “It all started with this.” She showed the cat a picture of a blonde haired blue eyed woman in pigtails that looked like it was a photo keycard of sorts to get into a building, leaving it for him to get a good look at. “This is my original body before the accident.” She would be lying if she said she wasn’t wondering what a digimon could do for humans, but at this point what did they have to lose? “To start, I got gashed by a corrupted digimon. But there’s no scar to see or anything for obvious reasons - there’s no actual physical issues unless you count that I’m in a different body.” That and she probably wouldn’t be here otherwise right? “I was dying and then a Phascomon used a spell to place my mental data into a different body. When I woke up everything seemed fine….until I tried going back to the human world.”
Mentioning the demonic koala digimon made her wonder for a second if all of this had to do with some kind of black magic that was infused with the spell Toby had used to save her life - he had unintentionally cursed her into a contract with demons? Did that kind of stuff happen here? Why wouldn’t it if demon digimon who could apparently perform rituals existed? “After a few hours, my body starts splitting and glitching, as in...I start to disappear completely until I get back to the digital world, and then it's like nothing ever happened. But I’ve had a couple of...incidents here in the digital world.” Had she told all of this to Carlos? Would he be angry knowing she had unintentionally possibly gotten mixed up in a demon digimons magic?

"I know hun but..." Carlos sighed, clearly more than fed up with the constant bickering. What was he even supposed to tell her? He really had no real excuse or answer for her. He had gotten too distracted, plain and simple, and was now paying the rightful price for it. "There's only so many more ways I can say "I'm sorry, I screwed up."."
Mikemon's secretary Stingmon, dry and to the point as usual gave them a simple greeting (which Dio reciprocated with an equally simple wave), before making them go into the Doc's office. Once inside, Talia wasted no time in filling in the Mikemon with all the pertinent details of her incident and current...state of being. Carlos and Dio did little more other than keeping quiet and nodding as she recounted the events that led to this moment. Though Carlos couldn't help but feel...a bit taken aback by the final details of her retelling. Particulary the flickering in and out part. How was he just now hearing about it?
"That's..." Truth be told, Carlos was not even aware things were this bad, and indeed was somewhat irked that Talia was only just sharing this with him, if only because he was more worried over her health than anything else. But this wasn't the time to let his feelings get in the way, they had come here for help dealing with her situation, not couples counseling. He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose before saying, "...yeah, that's where we are, I guess. Hopefully this is within your area of expertise, Doc?"

Interesting - Talia hardly seemed to be like Carlos had described, instead being up-front and calm about her own condition. Taken aback for a mere moment, the doctor would calmly listen to what the tamer had to say.
About how she was in a different body. Mikemon didn't seem at all shocked at the circumstances: she'd been injured, corrupted, her original body became largely unusable, and her mental data was transported into a new body by a Phascomon. His ear flicked as he heard about the species of Digimon that performed it, expecting something ill to come of it.
And there it was: her body no longer functioned properly outside of the Digital World. Considering the facts in front of him, the cat calmly tapped his claw against the table. "... Interesting. There's definitely a few tests that I'd like to run," he gave a nod as Carlos affirmed the information, "but, to put it simply, it sounds like a 'homunculus' matter."
At least, that's how it seemed at the surface. "To put it simply, it doesn't sound like the Phascomon was thinking too far beyond your short term survival - not that I could really blame anyone in that situation. But in all likelihood, your current body is probably, at least in part, powered by the Digital World itself. Ambient data in lively areas keep it in form, but if it runs low, it naturally seeks out where its most stable. You can sort-of think of it as a robot having to plug themselves back into the wall."
Before he got down to business, he did have a few questions. Or, at least one: "Now. Forgive me for this rather morbid question, but this is important: do you know what happened to your original body?"

“You’re not getting it, are you?” Stupid Carlos and his stupid density and his stupid lack of consideration! “You don’t understand how abandoned I felt! I felt unimportant and like you didn’t care, as if I didn’t matter to you.” And then here he came again out of nowhere dragging her to the place she wanted to go to least. “Just stop sending me mixed messages! If you want to be with me, say it. If not, tell me and I’ll make myself scarce, Carlos.” She’d omitted making another comment at his reaction to her revelation of symptoms, having the urge to remind him he was off running rampant with other women but figured their bickering had pushed enough buttons for now. Come to think of it, she had no idea what had happened between the time she’d been stabbed and the time she’d woken up except that when she had, Victoria and her two partners were nowhere to be found. “I’m not really sure to be honest.” She looked at the twins for an answer and they seemed to be just as baffled as her. “We were fighting the corrupt twin of the Phascomon and at a point, everything went blank and we woke up in a grassy field way away from the spot where the fight took place and when Simba and I went to look for it, it was as if it never existed in the first place.”
Having never been fond of doctors as a whole Talia was a little uncomfortable with this whole thing but if would get the hypocrite that was named Carlos to shut up, it was worth any discomfort. “So basically whatever ritual the Phascomon did, it only passed a certain checkpoint of clearance metaphorically speaking?” The twins meanwhile were toying with the idea of going to search for the womans former body, but the greater question was would she let Tohru leave her side? “Do you need it you think, Doctor?”
