This is an MPC I did using the prompts "And For Our First Question..." and thru a wildcard "Surprise! It's Me"
I'd like bits for this, please.
The creak of an old couch, the click of a pen. "Let's start with laying out the setting, then."
"A simple white room, two couches, and a coffee table. One couch for me, the other couch for the individuals being interviewed. I'm a self insert and the writer's persona-slash-fursona, and also my own character at the same time - though you can call me Tsukiko - and the characters I'm interviewing... Well, why don't we start with you two introducing yourselves?"
The first few moments were a bit of a flurry of movement, as Mimi found herself in Andrei's arms - when the hell did that happen?! - and would begin trying to wriggle out of Andrei's arms to settle herself on the couch next to him. All the whilst, Andrei would get a faceful of the fins atop Mimi's head, and would be poked and stabbed a few times with her claws, and the spikes on said claws- "Gah! Ow- Mimi, please calm down!" "I'm already confused as hell as how we ended up in this room, I don't need you treating me like a teddybear, too!" Mimi would retort - finally flopping onto the couch as Andrei let her go, to avoid any further pokes. The young man would hiss faintly, rubbing a sore spot on his arm that was likely going to bruise in the morning. "(I wasn't even holding you that tightly, until you started freaking out...)" He'd murmur under his breath with a sigh, scratching his cheek - albeit he wasn't really all that offput. Mimi was just a spirited gal, he had figured a long time ago - and he didn't mind it at all, really.
Nonetheless though, the chaos would draw a somewhat amused look from Tsukiko - "We alright?" She'd ask.
Andrei would glance up, before laughing a bit "Yeah, we're fine, I guess we just had a bit of a kerfuffle is all," Mimi would only grumble in response at first - seeming keen on forgetting that the initial scene ever happened at all - before finally asking "Where the hell are we, anyways?"
"An indistinct space nestled in a gap of spacetime that I yanked you two into to ask you both some questions," Tsukiko answered easily - perhaps a little too easily. "I'll plop you both back where I found you once this is all done - and this won't be canon, beyond your answers to the questions, so anything that happens here won't have any lasting effects on you two."
Andrei thought the response over for a few moments, before nodding. So in the end, this was sort of like... an interview that he'd probably just figure to be a dream? He'd scratch his cheek a bit - unsure if he understood what Tsukiko meant by things such as 'an indistinct space in spacetime', or 'canon', but if she didn't mean any harm, welll... What was the harm, then? Mimi didn't seem to feel the exact same - appearing quite disgruntled. "I guess we'll have to get over with it then, so that I can get back to my nap..." She'd mutter, getting comfortable on the couch. Andrei scratched his cheek a bit, before glancing to Tsukiko. "So, what was that first question again, uhm - Miss?"
"I was wondering if you two could introduce yourselves, tell us a bit about yourselves." Tsukiko responded with a faint chuckle. This certainly was an interesting duo that she picked up, hm?
Andrei and Mimi would glance to each other, as though wondering who would go first - before Mimi would decide to step up to the plate. "Whatever- sooner I get this over with, the better..." She would mutter - thinking it over some before she spoke. "My name is Mimi. Though I'm just a rookie, I'm a pretty old digimon who has been thru a bunch of lives and reversions. This time around, I've partnered up with this human here - Andrei - to see how strong I can get."
Andrei smiled to Mimi, before going next. "My name is Andrei - or at least, that's what I call myself by, and have others call me by - though my full name is, uhm.... Ivan Andrei Johnson." He scratched his cheek a bit sheepishly at the mention of his full name. "I'm 21 years old, was between College and Law school, and lived in a small town in Louisiana before I ended up in the Digital World. Also before the Digital World, I was working a job while looking for a Law School to go to, and running a Youtube channel."
Now they were on track. Tsukiko would jot down a few things - Mimi couldn't help but squint and wonder what the hell why she needed to be writing it down - before asking "Can you tell me a bit about your youtube channel, Andrei?"
This would make Andrei's eyes light up - his Youtube channel, though more a hobby than anything career-esque, was practically his baby. He was more than happy to to talk about it, as a result - his passion clear in his expression and tone. "Oh! My channel name is CrypticPrizrak - or Cryptic Ghost in English, to begin - I wanted to sort of give it a partially Russian name since I'm part-Russian, and know how to speak it pretty decently. And like the channel name probably implies - I like doing videos on stuff like cryptids and mythological creatures, conspiracy theories, local myths, and ghost hunting videos - or just videos about ghosts in general!" He'd grin widely. "I don't have a whole lot of followers yet, compared to most other channels... But it's still really fun putting together videos, and seeing the comments of the people who do follow me! Especially ghost hunting videos; I sometimes do my own ghost hunts, even - out in the woods near the town I lived at, and in the occasional abandoned buildings 'round the town!"
"You sound pretty passionate about this," Tsukiko commented - smiling warmly. "Did anything in particular inspire you to do the youtube channel?"
"Well..." Andrei scratched his cheek. "The youtube channel itself was honestly a spontaneous idea I had, after seeing different kinds of documentary and informational-type channels, and their videos. But as for my interest in things like ghosts, cryptids, and whatnot..." He paused for a second, to think over his words. "My mother is what people would call superstitious - she believes in Tengrism, which a lot of it centers around spirits, and whatnot. Though I don't necessarily ascribe to it as much as she does, I do believe in the idea of ghosts, cryptids, and whatnot - that there are things out there that we don't entirely understand or have discovered yet, and other spiritual forces in the world. And I'm curious about mythology, particularly creatures, cause I'm curious of what people believed in once, back then - what we might call cryptids today."
Tsukiko nodded - writing something down once more. She'd glance up to note Mimi's disinterested, bored look though - and after a moment, would ask "Switching gears to you, Mimi... What drove you to choose a human as your partner - and how did you come to pick Andrei specifically?"
The question would make Mimi snap to attention - perhaps not expecting to be asked a question quite yet - though she'd grumble when she realized it was her turn to be questioned. "... Digimon seem to get some sort of power from humans- and I wanted a piece of it." She stated simply. "How we ended up as partners, though... I didn't exactly pick Andrei - it just sort of seemed like that's what Homeostasis above picked for me, god knows why. When we finally ran into each other, his digivice or whatever started freaking out - which is how he figured we were partners..."
A match made in heaven, Tsukiko couldn't help but muse jokingly to herself. "Do you think it's worth it, so far?"
"..." Mimi glanced between Tsukiko, and Andrei, as though thinking over her words. "... Frankly, we've only met recently - I doubt I'll become a god instantly, when I have a human partner. Think this is something we'll have to see when we get there." Andrei couldn't help but smile faintly - wondering if she was just being fussy and huffy as usual at the idea of enjoying having a partner, or if she was trying to be nice.
Either way, Tsukiko would nod again. "... Hm... How about a question for both of you, now - what're you two's motivations, or goals, right now...?"
Andrei would be the first to answer. "Honestly...? I'd... like to find a way home - or at least, find a way to get into contact with my Ma and Pa - let them know everything's okay. God knows how I'm going to explain everything to them, but..." He'd shrug a little. "... In the meantime, I've been staying in a place called The Library with some friends I've made - learning some Japanese, getting used to the Digital World... I've also been wanting to help Mimi get stronger, here - try and be a good partner for her.."
This gave Mimi pause for a second - though she wouldn't linger on it for long, focusing on the question instead. "... I've never really gotten strong in my past lives - never been anyone exciting or great. I want to reach that point this time around. In the meantime, I'm here to make sure dumbass here doesn't get himself hurt trying to get a Meicoomon out of the tree or something." Andrei chuckled a bit sheepishly, scritching his cheek. He certainly had gotten in a few situations, where he'd end up in some bizarre trouble - that initial encounter with an angry Gizamon came to mind.
Tsukiko couldn't help but chuckle with though, at seeing Andrei was otherwise untroubled. "Certainly good goals - hm hm hmm... And those goals - how have they been going for the both of you, so far?"
Andrei, once more, would be the first to respond. "Well... Like I said, I've got a place to stay while I learn some Japanese, and I think I've been getting used to digimon and the digital world!" He'd begin, smiling faintly. Though, the smile would drop a hair as he admitted "Though... I do miss home a whole lot... It's been exciting, being in a new world and making friends with strange new people, but I also am a far way from home - a far way from family... It's something that's probably going to take me a bit longer to get used to, y'know? But... Knowing that I've got a way to get home, even if that way will take a long time... It's at least a little comforting." The smile returned, as he added "And at least I'm not alone in this, y'know?"
Next was Mimi. "I mean, I've reached rookie recently, so that's something." She'd mutter. "I dunno if it's necessarily been faster than on my own, but..." She shrugged. "It's still too early to see if this is worth my time or not - but I can at least appreciate Andrei's presence not being the most grating, compared to half of the people I've met before." Andrei couldn't help but smile a little, scratching his cheek - well, that was something, wasn't it?
Tsukiko would be unable to help a chuckle, as she tapped the end of her pen against her chin in a thoughtful fashion. After a few moments though, she would glance to Mimi - and noted a particular necklace around the ModokiBetamon-X's neck. "Hm... Mimi, I noticed you're wearing a rather interesting pendant... What could you tell us about it?"
The mention of the pendant made Mimi tense a little - unable to help tucking it under herself a little more. It was clear she wasn't totally keen on talking about it - though Andrei would reassuringly stroke one of her fins, which made her relax without really realizing it... At least, until she had the idea to shrug him off. It, nonetheless, was still reassuring to her - even if she wouldn't admit it - and was enough to get her to feel comfortable responding. "... I dunno where it came from... Just that the main pendant bit is from some big digimon's scale, and that there's a couple of fangs - one on either side, and likely from the same digimon, too." Mimi began. "I've always sort of had it, for most of my lives; I dunno how it sticks with me each time, but maybe it's because the data in it's just as much a part of me now as a Leomon's necklace, after having had it for so long. Either way, looking at it... It reminds me of what I want to do with myself, of how I want to be stronger than I've ever been."
Tsukiko hummed. For a moment, she debated asking other questions - but she supposed that after how conscious Mimi seemed at the pendant question... "Perhaps here would be a good place to stop, for now?" Tsukiko suggested, smiling gently. "We can always pick up questions another time - though I apologize if I got a bit too personal, with my pendant question."
"..." Mimi would quietly scoff, glancing aside - but Andrei offered a sheepish smile. "I'm sure it's okay - you didn't know! But maybe stopping here would be good, yeah."
Tsukiko nodded in agreement. "I'll stop here, then. Thank you, both of you, for putting up with little ol' me - I hope both of you can succeed in your goals!"
I'd like bits for this, please.
