Whilst Cassie would giggle along with Susumu's cheering over the concept of belly-sliding on the ice, the two sisters couldn't help a brief blink, as the Dracomon quickly changed gears upon remembering his inability to tolerate the cold. "Ah... Yeah; sliding on ice while you're not particularly made for the cold would probably be, well, cold as hell." Ophelia mused; to which Cassie nodded, adding "Yeah... Especially cause you're pressing your body up against something that's really cold; it probably leeches all the body heat right out of you! The only reason I can do it no-problem, is because I have a thick layer of blubber, that keeps my body heat in..!"
As far as food went though, Ophelia would nod. "Alright, us three'll just dig in then, and see what we like ourselves!" She'd remark with a chuckle; putting in the finishing touches on setting up the tent, before the two of them would flop down on the grass near Susumu; pulling out the bag of breads and pastries, and setting it between the three of them. "Take your pick, and chow down; I ended up buying more than me or Cassie probably need, so there's enough for you, too, Susumu." The Spadamon would add, as she reached in; digging out some sort of strudel, and beginning to eat. Cassie, meanwhilst, would pull out some form of cheesybread!
There, indeed, looked to be quite the variety in the bag; as well as plenty of food to share. What sort of baked good was Susumu going to pick out, from the variety?

"Mmm, it's too bad..." Susumu was looking genuinely sad that he wouldn't be able to partake in that particular little joy alongside friends, but another thought perked him up right after. "Oh!" He tilted his head upwards. "Maybe it'll be different once I digivolve! Maybe I could handle cold better then!"
Though he knew digimon could become just about anything when they digivolved, Susumu knew that for the most part, overall traits remained similar. This didn't mean that drastic changes weren't relatively common!
He would respectfully let the two others dig into the food they had bought before reaching in for some of his own, at first pulling out two warm croissants, which were fluffy and tasted sweet and savory, like they had butter baked in already! Before eating them for real, the Dracomon took a look at both of them and held them by the edges in his mouth so that they curled over his chin, looking like comically-large fangs, before giggling and biting off the edges he had in his mouth. "They're delicious! Thank you so much for letting me have some!" He would continue to chew away, one at a time, and after finishing the first, asked the others some more questions. "I'm curious - you said you were from the mountains! Do you live there? What's it like up there? Besides cold, hee hee!"

The two would ponder briefly at the digivolving, and the notion that it'd help him handle the cold more easily... before Cassie would nod. It made sense to her! "Yeah, maybe!" She'd agree with a smile - adding "Me and Ophi once met an icy dragon; he's a really big and old fella, but maybe you could digivolve into something like him!" with a small chuckle. Speaking of that Paledramon, from forever ago... The two couldn't help but wonder how he was doing, if he was doing alright right now.
As Susumu arranged the croissants in his mouth to look like large fangs, though, the two couldn't help but break out in laughter; smiling brightly in his direction. "Fuck yeah!" Ophelia would respond to his thanks - grinning widely. "Nothing like a new friend to share some food and the night with, after all!" "Yeah!" Cassie would chirp in agreement; giggling happily as she pulled out what looked to be a large baguette of some sort. She'd break it up into thirds - so each of them could have a third of the long loaf of bread - before the two would perk up at Susumu's question. The mountains?
Ophelia would take a second to think over the questions, before nodding with a smile. "Yeah, we were born and raised out there; we lived in a den up in the deeper parts of the Terabyte Mountains, where there's usually only other wild digimon. Besides me or Cassie, there was our brother, a Strabimon named Laertes, our mom - a Blizzarmon named Gertude, and our dad - a Panjyamon named Callus." She'd begin; idly chewing at her share of the baguette. "We don't really live/live there anymore - me and Cassie left the den to explore the world, awhile back. But we do have a home back in the Northern Prominence - in a city called Ys - and we do visit Mom and the others, from time to time..!"
Cassie nodded her confirmation - mentioning "It's a lot different up there, from even the edges of the mountains, that most civilized digimon seem to hang around. It's definitely, well, cold - ehehehe! But it's way colder up there; it's sometimes hard to find food unless you know where you're looking, and there's lots of wind, lots of snowstorms, and lots of other wild digimon - though we were never scared of wild digimon. Mom is really strong, and she has a big territory that she and Dad both work together to protect, and it's large enough to keep us all fed and safe!"
The two sisters would take a second to ponder everything over, before Ophelia spoke up once more. "Normally, it's too foggy or cloudy to really see much, beyond the immediate area around you. Hell, when it's snowing, you sometimes can't even see your hand in front of your face! But when it's clear, and you can see the sky..? It's a damn beautiful sight, sometimes." Ophelia would almost look wistful at this; staring up at the night sky now. "... Life up in the mountains is tough. Real fuckin' tough. But the things we sometimes got to see when the skies were clear - the night sky, the rising or setting sun, the auroras? ... It's all very beautiful. I sometimes miss those moments, honestly, but... That's why we visit Mom, Dad, and Lae, after all..."
Cassie and Ophelia would both fall quiet, with this; wistful, quiet, almost nostalgic. The silence would hang for a few moments, before Cassie would glance to Susumu - her voice gentle, but still positive, as she asked "Well... What about you? What was growing up in the forest like, for you?"

Susumu took his share of the baguette, tilting his head forward to exclaim "Thanks!" and eagerly taking a large bite of the third of the loaf. Unable to venture to the vicinity of the freezing lands surrounding the mountains, the Dracomon was kept captivated by Ophelia and Cassie's tales of their time living up high in the Northern Prominence. One would think the sparkle in his eyes couldn't grow any brighter, and each time, one would be proven wrong. There was one particular detail in which he took interest:
"Oh, you lived with parents? That's so cool~!"
Towards the end of the recount, it was clear to Susumu that his new friends were getting wistful. He approached the two of them and lightly nuzzled the both of them with the side of his head and snout. "You must love your home and your family a lot... If I find a way to keep warm, could I go see them with you one day...?"
Next, the dragon digimon would be asked about his own life in the forest. He had a multitude of his own fond memories growing up in the wild, and didn't mind sharing them one bit!
"Well..." he giggled, "The forest has always been very nice, and very pretty! I'm sure it's a lot warmer here! The weather was never a problem. some times I'd find a sunny clearing and lie down for a while in the sunlight~"
He looked up at the night sky for a moment, pondering what next to say.
"I guess I'm pretty lucky to have lived there. I don't have any family, so I don't think I could have survived somewhere more extreme alone... but that doesn't mean it wasn't hard! There was a lot of food, but also a lot of digimon who wanted it - most of them stronger than me. I had to be faster than them, so I could get my share before they even knew I was there! I'm-" An almost undetectable pause. "I was always happy to tussle with the ones who kept to fighting their own size! It was fun! And being on my own, I was able to move around make my own dens. I got a round a pretty big area, I think! I wonder what it would have been like with a family?" The boy would stay silent for a short time as he turned in his head the fantasy of having other family members. "Who knows? Maybe I even do have parents somewhere! And if I do..." A soft gasp would escape his mouth directly following this suggestion, his eyes would tremble and his face would darken, gazing guiltily at the ground. "If I do.... are... are they looking for me...?" Susumu would have to shake his head out of this Trailmon of thought. "Erm… never mind! They probably would have found me by now if I had any! Ehehe! Sorry about that!" He looked at the others and tapped his index claws together quietly. "So... that's what it was like. It was fun!"

Upon being nuzzled, Cassie and Ophelia were both visibly keen on reciprocating; nuzzling Susumu right back, and gently coaxing him closer to them into a small snugglepile. Ophelia couldn't help but purr softly at this; smiling a little brighter. Snuggling up to others, sharing body warmth, it was all so very nice for the two siblings; and being sandwiched between the two arctic-borne digimon would likely ward off the chill of the night for Susumu quite well!
At the question of Susumu one day coming with, though... Ophelia perked up a little, unable to help a grin. "Hell yeah; if you can find something to help ward off the cold, we'd be more than happy to take you with to visit!"
Cassie, too, would nod in agreement - adding "Mama might be a little imposing; she can be pretty big n tough n rough... But Lae and Dad would be more than happy to welcome you in!" with a cheery smile of her own. She could remember when Kitt had come along to visit them, and he had gotten intimidated by Mom pretty easily... Which, it was to be expected; their Mom - Gertrude - was a giant Ultimate-stage Blizzarmon! Though then again, Kitt was a Civilized digimon, unlike Susumu. Maybe he'd be less intimidated by their Mom than Kitt was?
Regardless, the duo would both listen quietly and curiously, as Susumu recounted his days spent in the forests; of what he had to do to get by, on his own. Being without a family... The two both found that to be kind of lonely sounding, honestly; only having yourself to rely upon... Of course, this was mostly due to the way they valued family; the way they valued the bonds that they shared with each other, their brother, their parents, and even their friends..! To be without them, growing up, sounded almost sad - though the sisters couldn't help but note the almost positive tone that Susumu recounted his part with; at least, until the subject of whether his parents were out there, looking for him, came up.
It took a second for either of them to respond - being quiet, contemplative, processing it all... Though Ophelia would be the first to speak, tearing a large bite out of her share of the baguette, and chewing it down, before she mused "Having to learn and grow up on your own does sound pretty tough, though. We're used to having had our family to teach us and back us up as we grew up." She, honestly, debated commenting on the deal with the parents - cause she, personally, figured it wasn't too farfetched that someone out there could still be looking for him. But it also seemed like an almost touchy subject for him - so she figured to leave it be.
Cassie, too, nodded; asking "But... it does sound like you were able to make friends, here and there, to tussle with, right?" with a hopeful hue; nibbling on her own share. "So it wasn't completely lonely, yeah?"

Susumu almost blushed when Ophelia and Cassie turned the nuzzle into a full-on snuggle. He'd take on a very peaceful expression, his eyelids suddenly being dragged halfway down his eyes. A signal had been struck in the dragon's mind that he was absolutely safe. A new feeling, to him. He had shared some small tender moments with digimon he had met in the wilderness, but this new sensation was overpowering.
"Yes," he said, quiet and subdued, pondering everything he was learning from all of this. "It wasn't completely lonely, and it was even quite fun every now and then! But..." The small dragon rolled his head from one side to the other. "...I don't think it's ever been as 'not lonely' as it is now... I know this isn't about the 'civilized' life, though. The people in the city are cold and stiff, as if they are afraid of something. How is it that it can be so crowded, and yet so distanced from everyone else? Perhaps it is simply I who was afraid, but... I am not sure. Do you feel the same way, about them?"

As Susumu relaxed into the snuggle pile, both Cassie and Ophelia would simply enjoy the company in having someone else to share this with; another warm body, another friend, to cuddle up to. The Spadamon would purr contentedly at this, and Cassie, too, seemed to be quite relaxed in the midst of it - just as Susumu was.
As Susumu mentioned his thoughts on everything though; from how growing up on his own wasn't completely lonely, but that the city - inversely - was perhaps even lonelier, despite all the people..! The two sisters couldn't help but nod along to this; them both understanding and agreeing completely with what Susumu meant. "Individual people in the city can sometimes be friendly, but... Yeah, I get what you mean, on it all feeling isolated as hell." Ophelia would respond; resting her head on Susumu's shoulder.
"Yeahh... It feels like people don't really... Trust each other, I guess?" Cassie murmured, trying to find her words. "It's like there's something out there in the city that everyone's on guard for, but nobody actually knows what it is... It's so different, from Ys. It's probably super cold up there, for people who aren't used to the Northern Prominence, but... At least it all feels much friendlier, up there..!"

Susumu shifted his body to stare up at the sky, relieved that Ophelia and Cassie were able to back up his misgivings about the big city's populace. "So you feel the same way, huh..." Silence followed, if a short one. Thoughtful silence - the kind no one was expected to fill. They would go on to remark that the people in the city where they lived were different, and it felt much friendlier. "Maybe..." he started, "...maybe it is the cold? Cold is a common threat. Nobody likes being too cold. So, in a little way, that draws people closer, right?" More silence. He felt like he was onto something. "In the wild, when... people are scattered, and rare... meeting someone else is a precious thing. You are both surviving the world around you, and that gives you something in common, and you trust them... In the city, it is very crowded. There are people everywhere. When you meet someone, they are not precious to you, and you are not precious to them. The world is not dangerous in the city, where food and shelter is provided, but you are not safe from other people, and you know you are not precious to other people, because they are not precious to you. I think that is why everyone is so afraid there."
The Dracomon would follow this remarkably thorough analysis with more quiet stargazing. Eventually, he would blink, and turn his head to the sisters again. "Oh, um... I have been speaking for a while, but what do you think? You say Ys is friendlier... do you suppose it is because of the cold?"

Being a good deal's away from the city, there was practically no light pollution; allowing the stars above to shine as brightly and as freely as they pleased. Ophelia and Cassie both couldn't help but follow the Dracomon's gaze to the heavens above, the two of them admiring the stars, just as Susumu was. In this quiet silence that would fall under them, though... Ophelia couldn't help but note something; a tinge to Susumu's scent, that reminded her of someone... She couldn't quite put her finger on it yet, though; especially given that... Neither of them knew any other Dracomon, besides Susumu!
They'd briefly glance back to him, though, as he'd begin to speak; pondering over his theories about why Ys' community might be the way it is, as opposed to how Terminus is. For the most part, it all sounded solid; though... Ophelia wasn't sure if she necessarily agreed with everything, either. And so, when Susumu would address the two of them for their opinion... Ophelia would be the first to speak up.
"I don't know if every digimon you meet, out in the wild, is automatically your friend... Territories exist; and up in the mountains, wild digimon can be protective of whatever bit of territory they can claim for themselves, as more land means more potential for food... But I can at least agree that, you can tell a potential foe apart from a potential friend pretty quick." Deception wasn't something that wild digimon used often, after all; and certainly not in conversation. If a digimon wanted to get to know you, you'd know. And if a digimon regards you as an intruder, you'd know. "I think you are onto something, though..." Ophelia concluded, humming briefly as she fell quiet; thinking to herself regarding both Susumu's theory, as well as Susumu himself.
Thus, Cassie would pick up the conversation, nodding a bit. "I think that the cold could be part of it... Maybe people feel more inclined to help each other, and to look out for each other, because the Northern Prominence isn't as... Inhabitable, I guess, as the Digital Core?" She'd guess; scratching her cheek. The Digital Core seemed so peaceful, compared to the rest of the Digital World; so it certainly made sense to her. "But I also kind of think that... KIZNA, might also have helped kinda foster the friendly atmosphere, too." She'd add. "KIZNA is really close-knit; everyone in the team's like family, yaknow? And Ys had been sort of built, or... I guess to better word it, Ys had been rebuilt around KIZNA, in a way. I think that having the 'core' of Ys be KIZNA helped in making it a friendly city..!"

"Uh-huh!" agreed the Dracomon, "That is what I mean! Not everyone you meet is your friend, but the ones who aren't are trustworthy enough to let you know they are not your friend!" Apart from this, Susumu allowed himself to sit back and enjoy the small extra feeling of satisfaction and warmth brought about by the sisters' agreement. Then, when Cassie began to speak up, her contributions and thoughts sparked more thoughts within the dragon. This was a good thing - this was what a good conversation was supposed to do.
"If this is true," he said, "then I would very much like to see this for myself. I can't say I understand what KIZNA is to Ys. I can only assume they're not similar to these "police" that I have heard city-goers hold in such distaste before." It was very strange to him. In both the digital world and the human world, those who were tasked with enforcing the laws, these sources of "order" that set apart the civilizations from the wilderness, had a tendency to be disliked, even by many who followed these laws to the letter.

Susumu's interest in KIZNA and Ys would make the two sisters smile briefly; Ophelia being the first to speak up, once more. "Hell yeah; I don't think either of us would mind bringing you with, to Ys...!" She'd chirp, glancing to Cassie for confirmation - which, the Gomamon-X would nod in agreement with the same energy. The mention of police, though, would make Ophelia think briefly. "I dunno so much what city-goers mean by police, though. They might mean DATS, which is in the human world, or maybe they mean that the authority in Terminus is shit?" She'd shrug a bit. "Iunno, to be honest. I imagine we'd need to hear more from em, before I can say for sure."
"DATS doesn't seem bad or mean, though; just... Strict." Cassie would continue for Ophelia, her voice soft and thoughtful. "They don't want digimon and humans interacting too much, and they want us to stay a secret to other humans, to keep them safe. Humans are a lot more fragile than us, after all. If a mean digimon comes to the human world, they could hurt a lot of people, so..." Another pause, the little seal trailing off so that she could gather her words. "... Even if I don't really think that we should stay a secret; I understand why they want to protect their world, too."
This subject was getting perhaps a bit too complicated for their tastes, though. Cassie would shake her head - changing the subject as she mentioned "Anyhow... KIZNA's not like that; everyone's really nice, and friendly, and happy! We just wanna see the city grow, and for everyone to be happy, healthy, and safe! Though..." A hue of concern would cross over her face, as she added "... It can get pretty cold in Ys, even if it's warmer inside than it is outside the city. Would you be alright, in the cold? I know you mentioned not dealing well with it, so..."
"Yeah... I suppose we'd need to figure out a way to keep you warm, before we go visit." Ophelia added; scratching the back of her head as she thought things over. "Last thing we want is a draco-sicle, after all, heh!"

"Hmm... I do not think I am sure what I am saying anymore, but... someone did tell me about DATS before... and they told me about humans and their fears of all digimon, because they know they should fear some digimon. It is... familiar..." Thinking about all of this again was beginning to upset the Dracomon. He curled himself up closer to Ophelia after trailing off and clamming up. At this point, he preferred listening to the sisters tell of Ys, this supposed positive example amidst everything else. It was clear that they truly held this place, and the team at its core, in very high regard, making Susumu brim with curiosity and wonder at what it all might be like.
"True. I do not do very well in the cold, but-" Yawn! "surely... there is something.. we can find... in... in the morning... I do not know why I am so... tired... now..." He opened his maw wide for another large yawn, and let his head down, struggling to keep his eyes open. "You are... very nice..." were his last words before merely listening, and would not be long for being awake.

As Susumu curled up closer to Ophelia, the Spadamon was quick to pick up on the other's mood; recognizing that the subject of DATS and the human world probably wasn't a comfortable topic for him. Purring softly to reassure him, Ophelia would stroke along his back with a hand; gently petting him, to help him settle back down.
As he began to yawn, though, the two sisters couldn't help a warm chuckle; noting that they, too, were tired. About time that they retired into the tent, huh? "Maybe we could try looking for a jacket for ya, or one of those EV suits." Ophelia suggested, as she would carefully lift Susumu up; grunting a bit in the process, as she made for the tent. He was a heavy fella, though Ophelia was confident in being able to carry him for this short distance, at least..!
"Eheheh... Or all else fails, we just snuggle with you the whole way..!" Cassie would joke - trailing off in a yawn, and following Ophelia and Susumu into the tent, so that the three of them could snuggle back together for some sleep. Once situated, Cassie would nuzzle Susumu, murmuring "Night, guys," to the both of them in a soft tone.
Ophelia, too, looked ready to get some shut-eye; the Spadamon snuggling close to her sibling and newfound friend, and closing her eyes - mumbling a soft "Night," back, as she yawned, allowing herself to drift off to sleep...

Susumu woke the next morning feeling a tough confused, though nowhere near as much as he had felt during previous days, while he attempted to live and walk among the city folk. The exact moment he had fallen asleep was hazy, as was normal, but it was clear how he had gotten into a tent. His new, warm, fuzzy friends had set it up! The heat that radiated from the two sisters, and the fur that retained it, were soothing against the scales of the small dragon. This small tent and its occupants were more comfortable than the finest accommodations and hotel in Terminus City could afford, at least, that's how he felt. Though the light of a new day filled him with energy, the Dracomon would still opt to snuggle closer to the others, likely waking them up in the process. (That is, if they weren't awake already!) Either way, a hearty tail wag and a "Good morning!" were in order for him!

The two sisters were indeed already awake; having awoken shortly after the sun's daylight had begun to peek in through the entrance to the tent. They hadn't moved too much, though; still snuggled up close to Susumu, as they went through their morning ritual. Grooming each other, the two sisters would be running their claws through each others' fur to get out any tangles and bits, as well as simply enjoying their mutual proximity; a soft purr coming out of Ophelia.
As they felt Susumu beginning to stir, though, the two sisters would blink, before giggling happily; the two of them both happily accepting the snuggle, and nuzzling him in turn. "Morning, Susu!" Cassie chirped; her own tail wagging. "Did you sleep well?"
"You were out like a light there," Ophelia added, chuckling with a warm grin. "You seem ready to seize the day now, as they say, though!"
Parting from the cuddle pile, Ophelia would move for their belongings; seeming to be digging out some of the leftover food, kept mostly fresh in Cassie's Infini-Store. "Catch!" She'd toss Susumu what looked to be a donut bar, and Cassie a couple of croissants; taking out some food of her own to munch on, as her tail swished. "Figure we eat some breakfast, then figure out what the hell we're gonna do first today!"
"Eheheh, sounds like as good a plan as any, Ophi!" Cassie responded; catching the croissants, and beginning to munch on one.
