"Why are we here again?" Ryouta asked Valt. By the way, it's not like he's feeling hot at the moment thanks to EV Suit, but still... there's not much sense to stay in blazing place like this even if they're in an oasis.
"I'm thinking of devising some sort of survival training. You only can get so much in Ys Museum after all. If you learn in real time, you'll probably get more idea on how to survive better... It'll be also a good time to test for potential, out of Ys cadets to be admitted to KIZNA. People in Ys already know about KIZNA's creed of "Camaraderie is important". Those who are thirsty of recognition to point of ignoring their friends cannot be admitted to KIZNA. Losing some precious time even if it meant survival is more to our creed isn't it?" Valt answered
By the way, the usually Vmon is currently in XVmon form. As of why, he seem to lately prefer this form over his Vmon form. Valt surveyed for the area.
"...Speaking of which... You seem to got a lot in your mind lately..." he suddenly said to Ryouta
"Honestly? It's about things that happened lately I guess..."
"...Things that happened lately, huh... DATS? Demon Lords?"
"All of it."
"...Pft, that's a lot indeed."

The desert was what one could call a desolate land, one without any sort of redeeming qualities here. So, why were they looking for an oasis here? That sort of question surged through Hisato's mind as he and Scarab trudged through the unforgiving sands of the Folder Desert.
It wasn't as bad as it was made out to be, though. Scarab was used to weathering the elements and Hisato had an EV suit, so neither were in danger. Yet, the human was unsure why the bug even decided to come out here. Was it to train? Perhaps it was, who knows? "So, before you start whining like on that trip on the boat, I usually go to this specific spot because it's a nice place to hydrate after training out in the desert, cumbersome as it may be." Scarab explained, the Wormmon skittering along.
Soon enough, they came into an oasis, and...sure enough? They were not alone here. There was an unreasonably buff guy that looked Hisato's age and a Veemon that prompted Scarab to squint for a moment, before shaking his head. Seeing as this Veemon was not red, it wasn't his brother. "Hey, who're you guys?" The Wormmon called out.

Hmmm now, this is very odd... A pair of Digimon and Human... One is an oddly colored Wormmon that he smelled something familiar about, but the human is even more interesting. Is that... Plugsuit? Certainly EV suit can be different based on the wearer. It can be KIZNA uniform like Ryouta's (this time he forgoes the mask and changing his hairstyle), or something else, but this is the first time he saw a plugsuit on action.
"...Er, so... Where's your Eva, Shinji?" Valt joked around.
He hope someone would find that funny, but either way... "Anyway, jokes and avoiding to answer immediately aside, we're just... I guess someone who's here to survey the place's suitability for checkpoint for group training. Howdy, I guess. Name's Valt, from KIZNA if you know that group's name. Here for training too?" he asked the duo.
"Name's Ryouta, just this big guy's partner," he pats Valt's shoulder. "It's rare to see someone out here in the oasis though...."

In truth, Hisato was -really- unsure which iteration of the EV suit he wanted to pick up, but given how relatively inexpensive it was, he just picked up every form of the appliance he could. The plug suit included. Of course, the fact that this made him look like the whiniest character in anime was rather lost on him, as Hisato...didn't really watch anime that much. He liked the media, but he rarely found anything he appreciated.
"I...uh. What." Hisato stated out loud at Valt's joke, while Scarab turned around and started to snicker like a dumbass for a brief few moments. A possible indicator of the youth that the bug actually possessed. "Yeah, we're out here for similar reasons. Usually come here to train and have a place to chill at after training. I think I've heard of you guys, actually. The folks up at that ancient city in the Shining Sea, right?" Scarab was hoping he got that one right.
...He really didn't keep up with local teams apart from names and what they did. "Hisato Aizawa, nice to meet you." Hisato didn't really introduce himself as Scarab's partner, despite that being the fact of the matter. Probably because both just considered each other business associates or something. "Is it really? I was kind of skeptical about there being an oasis in the middle of the desert, but I guess I can be proven wrong."

"Eh, don't worry about it, issok. Honestly, not super fan on EVA, but the plugsuit just looked too much like EVA. I'm more to Gundam Guy, but only caught stuff to the last three years, so eh... not that amazing of a resume. Anyway," Valt clapped. "Yeah, that's us. From the far north, from the chilly place, some assholes calls us salty crystal kisser or what, but the most important thing is that at least we're quite famous. Do visit the city when you're there."
"You're kind of over the places somehow today," Ryouta commented.
"Must be the cactus I was drinking."
"You drink WHAT!?"
"I'm just kidding, geez. I know they're very funny things inducing. Anyway, you," Valt looked at Hisato "must be quite new, huh? Don't let the real world logic carry you around in these places. You'll get so confused. After all, Digital World is where you see a..." Valt turned around and looked at a refrigerator that is not even with a cord, yet the moment he opened it, the light inside turned on as if it's powered. He took four sodas and offered two at the newcomers
"...Something like that."
With the help of his claw, he opened the bottle cap and chugged the content. "Ah, yeah! That's more like it!"

Oh. OH. This was some reference to that...that one anime. With the robots. Right. Hisato gave Valt a knowing but not too knowing nod. That being said, the Veemon's comment about the city in the north was...uh. What. "Salty cry--...What the heck does -that- mean?"
"They kiss salty crystals, obviously. That, or they kiss crystals, while being salty. One of the two. Though given that's apparently something they're called, the legitimacy of this title is debatable at best." Scarab nodnodded like some kind of wizard. Either way, these two were pretty apt considering they could tell immediately that Hisato was new to this whole thing.
...Ah. Shit. Scarab forgot to introduce himself. "Right, I'm Scarab. Dunno if that name means anything to you, but this guy's my charge, so...Yeah." The Wormmon crept up to grab a soda™ from Valt, and cracked it open to guzzle it. Actually, no, he drank it like a regular, non-insane person. Hisato accepted the azure dragon's offer as well. "You're probably right--I heard about meat apples the other day. Still processing that."
"How the hell do you -still- process that? It's an apple with meat in it! What's so hard to grasp?" Scarab waved his can of soda at Hisato in a manner one could call...sassy. Actually, no, it was generic. He was just waving it for emphasis.

"Ah, basically because our civilization is on Shining Sea, where the sand are mixture of sand, crystals, and salt, and snow, they decided to coin that derogatory term for us. Our civilization is based on these... crystals too. Pearl Digicite we call them. Anyway, nice to meet you too here! Meat apples shouldn't be eaten raw, so please eat them after they're cooked. If you're still processing it, just think it as a apple shaped meat, that's all," Valt commented
"...It also tastes like meat now that you say it... the texture too... actually it IS meat in apple shape..." Ryouta concluded.
"...Well, I know the Digital World is strange and all... anyway, smelling for your 'scent', I don't think like you're newbie, Scarab. So I'm guessing Hisato is at good hand. Just take it easy with him. Still... uh... you know? If you don't mind, we can show you the ropes. We're quite veteran."
Here Valt goes again with his stuff of being veteran and whatnot. But this part is his care toward newbies too...
"Yeah, uh, just... please don't think any of this world as an anime logic place and you should be ok, Hisato... eerr, is first name basis alright?" Ryouta asked.

"Right, right...Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the Shining Sea a recently rediscovered part of the Digital World too? I don't get why the terms are even a thing." Hisato shrugged as he sipped some more of the soda.
"Ohohoho, yeah, definitely cook them. Sure, they're alright raw, but too much might make you sick, so it's much safer to just cook them. Plus, cooking them opens up a lot of options for flavor if you have the stuff on hand." Scarab, meanwhile, launched into a small bit about meat apples and cooking. He took a brief pause, a pause that was enough to allow Valt to speak.
Showing the kid the ropes? "Sure. See, I thought I had a good handle on this stuff from what I've seen of other tamers, but I think having some additional help might actually prove more...what's a good word here...Effective?" Yeah. Let's go with that. Meanwhile, Hisato tilted his head at Ryouta. "Yeah, I'm alright with that. Though...Why the hell would anyone treat this like anything out of an anime? It's...not only ridiculous, but dangerous considering what these guys are capable of."
Was there seriously anyone who treated this crap like an anime?

"Indeed, but it was months ago real world time, enough for it to be some years in Digital World," Valt answered. "There's time dilation of seven versus one, seven days in here is one day in your world. So, while it felt like it haven't been that long yet, actually is quite long for us to... make ourselves well known so to say!"
"Meat apples are interesting after cooked," Ryouta instead commented, and took what looked like a platter of grilled meat. "Grilled meat apple slices with sweet-sour-umami sauce. Would you like to try? I assure you it might sounds a bit strange at first... and... it is strange, but it's more delicious than I can give credit to with the name."
Why would anyone think of it like an anime? "...Boy, you wouldn't believe if I start this with something... let's see... I got someone who tried to take attack for me. They got no protection, a skinny kid too... It was against child stage sure, but goddamn, talk about anime moment. Glad that guy is actually his partner and managed to stop but....
...That was so much of an anime moment that my blood just run cold. I just saved him from bullies too that day. I mean, look at me, I know that I'm not as strong as how people think I looked, but... I'm at least a black belt in Karate, I know self defense, I have fought some times against Digimon and I have countermeasures. He don't meanwhile."
and then Valt just chuckled mirthlessly. "That damn black oversized prissy cat also had no idea that Aniki wasn't bullying him. Just because he's huge and tall, apparently this shitty projection thinks that he's the roots of all problem that been tormenting the kid."

Ah, right, time dilation...One of the more foreign concepts that Scarab had opted to mention in passing to Hisato during the entire walk they took to get here. "...Yeah, Scarab mentioned that for all of five seconds on the way here." He admitted, before blinking at Ryouta's suggestion. "Tell me that story over those. I'll try anything once."
Scarab, meanwhile, let out a GUFFAW. "Man, trying to be a human shield against a rookie level attack? That sounds about as dumb as announcing you're laying a trap for someone. While trying to dig a pitfall. Or worse, jumping at someone who's airborne and has been watching the whole fight. Which, mind you, people have done!"
...Why did that sound a touch familiar to Hisato? "...Yeah, even at rookie level, Digimon are still pretty tough. That's more reckless than anything. Part of why I don't watch anime that much, really." He managed to get that piece out before Scarab's eyes widened.
"Waiiit a sec, black ca--...Wow. Small world. Holy sssshit."

Valt can't believe this. What the hell? How likely are the coincidence here? It's pretty much an amazing! He can't help but to laugh out loud too.
"Phah! Oh God, you're saying you're up against them?" Valt asked, unable to believe his ears. "Oh god, small world, small world... I guess I'll ignore whatever circumstances that happened, although I'm guessing you're at wrong place and wrong time before suddenly that cat says something like you're motherfucker or something?"
"That sounds like too crass, but considering that it sounded like it... tries to attack me just out of misunderstanding, that sounded like the most likely thing."
"See? At any rate, it's definitely a small world. It's interesting how we somehow managed to get crossed by the same person. Did you somehow... I dunno, did you saw him fighting, doesn't help him and he thought that you're the bad guy who just ominously looking at his minion to do the fighting and attacked you instead?

Hisato was watching Scarab rather closely, even as Valt laughed his ass off. The worm nodded, however. "Yeah. Wrong place, wrong time. Got whisked up into a load of shit and it turned into a landslide of screwery while this whiny little dipshit and this crayon-looking asshole cat scream about bravery and cards while also being complete morons. Seriously, who tells someone they're throwing a trap at their feet like they expect them to fall for it? Heck, who throws a pit at a rabbit that can -jump?-"
A pause.
"...No, I was just sticking back and watching my brother. And another scuffle. But, that doesn't really matter. Point is, Hisato, never be like these people. You'll just end up making an ass of yourself and looking like a tryhard."
There was more silence from Hisato's end, and he took a sip of his drink. This one a bit larger. "Right. ...Basically, be realistic about stuff. That it?"

"Oh boy, they... they're worse than I thought... alright, bravery? In middle of battle?" Valt just... don't have any words for this sort of bullshit. "Homeostasis, I thought it was so anime before but now they increased it further?" He honestly had no idea what to even say about this, other than probably to facepalm so hard that it hurts.
"If you toss a trap on my foot, you better expect I can't fly or shut up and let the trap do the work. By telling that you're laying trap, you're telling me that I'm the biggest idiot that walked on this blue earth."
Tryhard though... "It's more like... I dunno, like... I understand you can get swept to the flow and start acting like anime character, no one would blame you but... basically, at least be more serious, considering this is not manga or anime. This is real life. You can lost your life just because you made a single mistake..."
...complicated.

"The thing is that sometimes, there is no room for honor in a fight or anything like that, such things mean little in matters of life and death. A lot of people fail to understand this, and end up having intimate relations with the ground as a result."
An eloquent way of saying they end up jobbing. "You throw a trap at someone and tell them it's a trap, then obviously they're going to just do their damnedest to get the hell out of there. Just telling them that's indeed an insult to their intelligence."
And Hisato couldn't help but agree more with that final statement! "Yes! This isn't a show or anything, people's lives are at stake when Digimon are involved. These critters can -actually- hurt and destroy things!"
So, with that in mind, the question in the teenager's head shifted from one place to another. And it was quite simple. "How come people don't seem to understand that?"

"Honors doesn't do jack shit when you're fighting for your life," Valt nodded in agreement. "I have no idea why some Digimon insists on honor. I mean, honor is nice, but if my family, my people, my friends in grave danger you bet my ass I'll try to eliminate my opponent as soon as possible."
Hisato got an interesting question really! "Hmmm, well..." surprisingly, Ryouta was the one who's keen to answer "...Say, Hisato... what's your job in real world? Student?" Ryouta asked. After given the answer, he would continue "I myself just a student and a part time worker on my father's cafe. That's not by any stretch amazing, right? It's rather humble. A bit amazing for those who can't bake or cook, but for me it's humble and satisfying... But you see, Hisato... Sometimes in real world there are people who are NEET, or not content with what life they have.... so they wanted an escape, so to say.
In Digital World? I'm pretty much a trainer of KIZNA's assault team, effectively making me something like a major. See the difference? What you don't have in real world, you suddenly have in much greater degree in Digital World. If that doesn't make people bigheaded, I have no idea what could... Basically, they think they're 'free' of their real life self, and they wanted this image where no one is looking down on them.
Simply speaking: Bravado. Thankfully I have more control because I balanced my position with realism. However, even so, sometimes I'm still lost too. If you get to that point where you get lost from your double life, just think that it's normal."
