A Familiar Fondness (Syre | Valentine's 2020 Event)
|

For Cion, it might have been ages - but for Syre, this sensation was much more new to her. The cat felt her arm around the fox's back, the side of her head resting up against Cion's shoulder as the two shared the moment in their respective bliss. Some would say that this familiarity came a bit too hastily. And granted, this day wasn't completely perfect: they didn't share all of the same likes, or the same viewpoints, and there might have been a point or two where they would never really agree.
But pushing past that? Syre wanted to learn more about Cion, but the feeling wasn't quite as simple as that. She felt a genuine warmth in her cheeks, a pang in her heart that she didn't know she could experience in earnest. With a smile on her face, her ear gave a flick as Cion picked up the conversation.
"Heh... I have to say you're quite the comfortable one, yourself." Perhaps Cion would have settled on a lower form if her ascended one was more 'war-like' or limiting in scope, but the Arniomon was definitely able to fit right in, comfortably in the BlackGatomon's grip. The cat gave a blink as the fox tried to turn around that thanks, though!
"... My..." Syre gave a blush, shaking her head at the thought. "Well, it doesn't have to be a contest. Let's just say we're both thankful, Cion... though the way you put it is definitely a flattering one." To be such a shining beacon to such an elder Digimon, one whose past iterations had probably seen the earliest points of the world, well it was definitely a powerful thought. The waves continued to crash in the background, the sun slipping down lower and lower, as it started to take on a pleasant, maroon tone.
... But it was ultimately just a backdrop. Indeed, there was a hushed tone in the air between the two, Syre's own eyes giving a flicker as she found herself at an impasse. With everything that had happened today, however, Syre might have found herself a bit more bold than the fox held in her arm. Setting the empty tea-cup aside, she'd find herself leaning closer, giving a small nuzzle against Cion's cheek, before she'd turn to face her.
The tone was intimate, a small blush on the cat's cheeks as Syre would press in - and should Cion not object, the fox would feel Syre's forehead press against her own, as well as the cat's left hand resting over Cion's right, a hint of a smile on the cat's lips.
"... Might I be so brash, as to ask for a kiss on the first date?"

What others thought... that was a sentiment Cion had long since cast into the abyss of her mind. Perhaps it was true that they were acting hastily, and that they did not align completely. But what did it actually matter? It had taken them but a few words of kindness and smiles to turn an often unpleasant event into one of the best days they ever had the chance to savor. In many aspects, their differences were preferred, given that their varying idiosyncrasies frequently complimented each other. Beyond all of this... what was wrong with them being happy?
Appreciating the compliment as the silver fennec quietly savored the mellow warmth in her cheeks and chest, subjects regarding the past and future quickly escaped her awareness, for she was too focused relishing the present serenity. "Sounds good." She agreed with a soft chuckle, glad to know that her unintentional flattery had delighted her shining beacon. Nonetheless, as tranquility returned to the radiant vista, the veil of personal uncertainty began to engulf her anew. After... everything, was this the right course of action? Could she truly open her heart to someone else's embrace again? What if this person did not wish to do so?
Just as the vulpine sentinel was ready to discard her hidden trepidation, she flinched faintly upon witnessing her partner for today situating her empty cup. Blinking, the gentle touch of Syre's muzzle caressing her demanded almost the entirety of her perception, and she was more than enrapt to provide it. And though it was but a fleeting moment, this was by far not the end of their interaction. Eventually, aureate eyes met an endless ocean of amber belle, accentuated by a sheen of rose allure. Softly, the two mammals leaned their foreheads against that of the other.
As her fingers again entwined with those belonging to the comely BlackGatomon, an expression of dreamy bliss manifested itself on Cion's face. Suddenly, previous incertitude vanished in an instant, despite her core beating with the pace of an engine. Begone - with everything that was forcing her to live as a shadow. Yesteryear, anguish, risk aversity... loneliness - the suffering these constants imposed perpetually... she was no longer willing to be defined by them. Above all else, how was she supposed to be special to anyone if she was too scared to pursue this privilege? No, this had to end - right here and now.
In the very instance that the brash feline finished her daring question, it was as if something within the small fox shattered. It were her restraining shackles. Well-nigh boisterously so, her free hand wound itself around the black felidae's body to clasp her back. Overwhelming felicitousness overcame her every fiber as she leaned in closer... and ultimately, she granted Syre what both of them desired. Gently yet firmly pressing her lips in a slight angle against hers, all anxieties were washed away, replaced with an all-encompassing feeling of elation.
With this simple yet crucial act, she bestowed upon her date the answers to the questions that might linger in the depths of her mind, and a seldom shared understanding. But... a relationship always included at least two. Hence, Cion relinquished control and conceded it to Syre. However long, intense, intimate, slow, quick or elsewise the candid, bonny lady wanted this to be - their bond and their kiss... she would be by her side to indulge in every second.

It was a moment of bliss.
Syre couldn't think of any other way to describe it - but honestly, in the moment, she was hard-pressed to think at all. As soon as that question left her lips, Cion returned an answer, her date's intent made very clear by that open embrace. Matching the tone, the BlackGatomon's own arms slipped around the Arniomon's, the cat's eyes softly narrowing as the two, already close, inched ever closer.
And then came that kiss. The cat shared that moment with Cion - and for a moment, both simply tried to match the other. The cat didn't want to press the fox too far, after all... but after that initial moment? She sensed it, Cion 'conceding' the pace, allowing Syre to set the tone. And in the next moment, the fox would feel it: those arms tightly gripping around her back, the feeling of the cat pressing right up to her, as Syre pulled her date into a deep, long, passionate kiss. Presuming Cion would indulge her, and return it, the two would keep at it, lost in the moment as their entire world simply became the two of them.
This single moment - where the time and the world itself just seemed to hang still for them.
And it would be a good, several seconds later, no sooner than either would be ready to stop, before the cat would slowly pull back. There was a deep blush on her face as Syre reveled in the moment of her first kiss - a kiss shared with such a wonderful partner. She gave a small chuckle, eyes darting away for a moment before they would return to the fox, a hand gently resting behind Cion's head, as she held that embrace.
For once, words completely failed Syre. She had nothing to add, on that front.

The last, fleeting remnant of uncertainty was, to Cion's delight, immediately cast aside by the nearly all-consuming, concentrated passion that Syre bestowed upon her unhesitatingly. A figurative cornucopia of sensations, internal and external alike, claimed the entirety of her focus and spirit as their moment of absolute bliss lingered. However, it was not solely the kiss that granted her this sentiment of fondness, though it certainly was the essential link that held everything together. No - it was the composition of affection, not unlike a perfect symphony, that made this minute unforgettable.
The onyx feline's firm yet gentle grasp - their mutual indulgence in their act of affinity - the notion of being willingly embraced to savor it - the experience of her date's faint scent and even taste - the warmth of her cozy, comely frame, and soft breath... there was nothing else that did entrance the silver fennec so innermostly and utterly. An eternity had went by since she had felt this serenity of intimate togetherness, and it was evident that she would not let go until the both of them were ready to do so.
As they slowly, almost hesitatingly pulled away, she noticed the dominant blush that graced her partner's cheeks and nose. Contrawise, there was not a single hint of false shame nor modesty adorning the small fox's muzzle. Nonetheless, their revelry was unadulterated. Joining the brief chuckle, her aureate eyes did not sway, except to perpetually behold the amber ones of the BlackGatomon. Continuing their embrace, her mind became numb, but regardless, there was an important question she needed to ask.
"May... I have a chance to... become the 'special someone' you seek, Syre?" Cion asked, her dreamy voice carrying with it a mix of confidence, longing and rhetorical frolic. Smiling raptly, her fingers steadily untwined themselves out of their hold, only to inch up the cat's arm towards her chest. Resting there while her other paw did not cease fondling her back, she amorevolously caressed the spot beneath which the felidae's beating core lied - her heart.
What she would give to know her place within it...

Cion would be the first to break the silence.
If she hadn't, Syre had no idea how long she would have just stared, and just held the moment with her amber eyes staring right into Cion's own. The BlackGatomon kept that smile, her paw slowly moving down, resting briefly on the fox's back before it would slip over to rest on her shoulder. She also felt the fox's hand slip up, resting right over the cat's chest, her core lying only inches beneath the surface. And, not unlike a heart, Cion would find her date's core racing, caught up in the high of just a few moments prior.
"That's... your question... after all of that?" Catching her breath, Syre gave a small chuckle with her voice, but it was mostly overshadowed by a warm, confident tone of her own. Her free hand would move up, and rest right over her chest, over Cion's own, as if gripping to her own core. "Of course you may have the chance. Quite honestly? I never knew that I could feel like this." And though they had given somewhat into the spark of their first date, Syre wanted to know a lot more about Cion - about this wonderful, confident Digimon, who wanted to share her heart with someone like herself. A whirlwind of emotions filled her head - and heck, it was surely still to come, for the both of them.
But, at least for the moment, Syre felt confident that this could turn out to be something truly special. She rested her head right against Cion's for a few moments longer, before she would finally sit back up - an arm resting right around Cion's shoulder, as she would finally cast her gaze over the sea.
The sun had already started to set, halfway over the horizon. The oranges soon fell to reds and purples, a gentle light glittering right across the ocean, letting these two enjoy the last few minutes of nature's show.
"Heh... I don't think today could have gone any better."

She sensed it... the rapid, strong beating of her partner's core - the undeniable proof of the intensity they had experienced in their moment of intimate togetherness. It was strange that this sensation filled Cion with an antithetic sense of absolute calm, but it did. Sincerity and genuineness had always been of utmost importance to the unassuming ascendant, especially in regards to relationships. Theirs was pure, warm and bright, not unlike the dawn's yellow orange sheen that engulfed them. It was but a young scion, but if allowed she'd cosset it with every conceivable bit of passion and care.
Amused by the onyx feline's somewhat tongue-in-cheek response, she felt Syre's touch as her free hand was ensnared by her warmth. Beholding her amber eyes unyieldingly, the positive answer she received left her almost breathless and speechless. She was granted the chance... to be dearly beloved by someone she held close to her heart. It was in this instant that her body and mind became numb, as if they had fallen asleep, or rather had awoken. Though certainly pleasant, mutual thoughts of their future and relation were not able to invigorate her spirit. Anew, it was a contrast to how her date perceived and regarded their interaction.
Guided into the comely, candid felidae's embrace, the silver fennec's stare eventually swayed to behold the radiance of the distant horizon as well. What a perfect, ideal allegory the setting sun was. Trembling, at first faintly, her breath started to become heavy and slightly audible. And it was then, feeling a weak dampness on her crossed legs and cheeks, that she grasped what happened. She was crying. No jittering - no sobbing - no lamentations in the form of jagged words and sounds. Yet it was uncontrollable... hysterical even.
She simply could not stop. For a minute, maybe longer, her seemingly impenetrable armor of confidence, something the BlackGatomon admired and cherished, was no more. Cion understood why. It had acted as a dam for several years - ever since her previous life had come to an end. This maelstrom of anguish, exasperation, blind and burning ambition, transcendency, odium, resentfulness, helplessness... solitude... all of them droplets of a surge that were now manifesting themselves in a unified, crystal clear shape.
It was the wish of belonging... somewhere, and with someone. It was not her fate to yearn it eternally. It had come true. "Indeed..."

It had been quite a ride today, hadn't it?
The fennec was crying, yes - but Syre's brief glance of concern was quickly shifted for that of a warm smile. There was no agony to it, no sadness, no anger. Rather, these tears seemed to come from a place of sheer joy, Cion's expression otherwise held in a state of happiness. So rather than console, the BlackGatomon wrapped her arm right around Cion's shoulder, letting her date lean right against her, and let it all out.
It wasn't a one-way street, after all. Though Syre wasn't brought to the same state of tears, it was something that she understood, as well. To finally meet someone like Cion, to have a chance to share one's heart with someone you could really care about? It was a rare, vulnerable, intimate, and wonderful experience, and one that could easily strip away the mask that one put up for the world. Right now, the two were open with one-another, Syre's hand carefully slipping behind that fox's head to give Cion a small, gentle scratch.
"Indeed, indeed..." Syre's voice remained warm, but at least for the moment, words were still scarce for her. As Cion's tears would slowly dry up, the feline would shift to leaning her weight against the Super Mega's, watching in warm silence as that sun slipped further and further behind the waves, to mark the end of their evening.
... And, perhaps, they would stay like that for some time afterwards. Going forward, there would be so much to plan, and so much to think, but for now?
This was perfection.
