Big Changes (Luneth Arrives)

When Luneth asked to be excused, Skye freely consented. She gave a small sigh as she heard his scream of fury. While she was glad that he had the decency to not release that anger in her house, she was a little unhappy to know that he had that kind of temper in the first place. Skye sincerely hoped that it wouldn't lead Luneth into peril.
"Yeesh, I sure can see the Shoutmon in him." Hickory remarked.
"Hmph. While I'm pretty annoyed by that comment, eh, guess I can see where you're coming from." Jorge responded, folding his arms. As a fellow Shoutmon, yeah, sometimes he too wanted to rage to the world like this about its injustices. And he did so as well, just in more distant places.
When Luneth returned inside, Skye simply embraced her son. She made no judgement or comment, she just wanted to hold this individual that was made from her data. She didn't say anything, but she could understand his sadness - that such an injustice was being carried out and there was little they could do to stop it.
After a while, she felt the need to say something, and say it she did. "In the end, Luneth, all we can do is protect those that we care about." she said. That had been her slogan as a soldier in the DWR, and it was her life view now as a warrior of the remnants of the 7/71st.
A little while later, visitors arrived at Skye's house. Luneth opened the door, and in entered Adrian and Shoutmon. "Ah, Adrian, good to see you." Skye said. "Please mind the ceiling... it might be a little low for you." she would hate for him to hit his head accidentally.
And then there was Shoutmon. Skye was a little uncertain on how to approach this situation. She could be evasive about it to lessen the blow, but, at the same time, she felt that would be deceptive and unhelpful. In the end, she decided on a method that would hopefully put Shoutmon in the state of mind where he could be comfortable in meeting his son.
"Shoutmon! I'm so happy to see you!" Skye said, actively suppressing her inhibitions and walked forward to embrace him. While, yes, part of this was an act, there was genuine emotion behind it. Skye did genuinely like hugging the digimon she had chosen as her boyfriend, she knew it was necessary to soften him up for the next piece of news.
"Because, well... I have someone important to introduce to you." she explained. "Shoutmon, this is Luneth. He's our son."
She would wait to see his reaction to this. Hopefully it wouldn't be too extreme, she didn't want to hurt either Shoutmon or Luneth here, but, she felt that honest openess was the best route here.

Luneth was not expecting to be embraced when he had walked back inside, but he was glad that his mother had made that decision. He was feeling better than he was originally, but there definitely was still some anger in his mind about this... DATS group. He hoped it would all be sorted out eventually, since he still wanted to like the humans.
Skye came to the front door to greet the new guests once Luneth had answered the door. She warned the human Adrian about the low ceiling, not wanting him to hit his head. He just chuckled. "When I was a kid I thought being tall was a blessing. Now I see it is but a horrible curse," He jokingly said. "It's fine, Skye, I fit perfectly in here."
The Shoutmon and Gatomon would then hug each other as a form of greeting. "Yeah, I'm happy to see you too, Skye!" the red dragon would say happily. He turned around to look at Luneth. "Is this the one who wanted to meet me? He seems pretty cool. Is he like family or something?"
Shoutmon would soon learn that he was right on the money with that question, when Skye introduced the Hackmon as Luneth, saying that he was their son.
...my what?
Shoutmon didn't know how to process this information. He... had a son? No, he was too young to have a son, he wasn't ready... this couldn't really be true, was it? His face morphed into an expression that basically exclaimed "Oh shit." He looked over at his supposed son, who was clearly judging him based on the way he was looking at Shoutmon. Crap, already made a bad first impression!
"Wait... he's Shoutmon's son?" Adrian asked, not believing it himself. "THIS Shoutmon?"
"Adrian, you're making me look bad..." Shoutmon said through his teeth.
"Sorry, sorry..."
"This is all so much to take in... how did this even happen? Do you think it could have been during one of our spars, Skye?"

After being mostly satisfied that Luneth was in a better mindset, Skye hoped that the rest of the meeting would go well. She was glad at least Adrian could manage the low ceilings. Given that it was designed for digimon of around 4 feet in height, and only reached a top of 6 feet, he would have to bend down a little to fit properly.
Skye rather liked hugging Shoutmon. While ordinarily she saw him as a comrade and a sparring partner, this extra level of affection just... felt really nice. Indeed, when she had seen Owen and Hikaru at their wedding, she wondered deep down if she could love another like they did. But, after feeling this warmth, maybe... that could be possible?
But of course, there was this latest news to get through first. Jorge and Hickory quietly made their leave as they realized the gravity of the situation, wanting this to be sorted out without them feeling like intruders... but they kept around just to overhear what went on.
Skye meanwhile was prepared for this and acted to quickly try and soothe Shoutmon's shock. "It's okay, darling. No need to take it like it's a bad thing." she took a glance to Luneth, hoping he didn't feel bad by Shoutmon's reaction. "I've asked my friend Owen about how it happened with him, and he told me that, yes, when two digimon that like each other very much, at least at the start, perform a deed in which their data is united in an act of passion, that energy is enough to make that data form a digiegg in the Village of Beginnings. So, I suppose, with you training me to reach my Mega level, our feelings toward each other and the damage we dealt made some of that data unite and take form with Luneth here."
Skye hoped that she made sense with all this. "So... with that established, I was just wondering... what we could do from here?" she asked.

Adrian did not want to admit it, but he was pretty cramped in that house. He was six-foot-one, just an inch too high for the ceiling. He didn't have an issue walking around, but he would go to sit down on the floor in the living room, just so his head wouldn't touch the ceiling. Maybe we'll get a chance to go outside at some point, he thought to himself.
Shoutmon was feeling the same things Skye felt when they were hugging. Shoutmon had always been interested in going beyond friends and training partners, but he didn't know the first thing about any of that stuff. Maybe once things progressed more and he was more willing to be open about it?
But now there were more pressing concerns: Luneth. "Who said anything about it being bad? I'm just... Do I look parent material do you?" Shoutmon looked nothing like a parent, so his fears were validated somewhat.
Skye explained that Luneth must've been born during one of their more intense spars, one where they did so much damage to each other as well as their feelings had their data combine to form Luneth's Digiegg. "Yeah, yeah, that does make sense..." Shoutmon then looked back at his... son. "Well, I'm glad you came to find us, Luneth."
"I do feel better now that I have..." Although he didn't know if it was worth it, looking at Shoutmon in person now. Skye then asked what they should do from here. "I think I want to go back with them, to the human world."
"Wait, what?"
"I want to observe the humans, go to a human school, experience a human life. They made so many amazing things and their civilization is so interesting to me."
"A human life isn't all it's cracked up to be, Luneth."
"I still want to experience it for myself. I have a holosuit already, and I can always come back to the Digital World whenever I want!"
"...well, the biggest problem would be the living situation. Skye, you're his mother, what do you say about this?"

As their cuddle parted, Shoutmon replied to Skye that he just didn't feel like parent material. The Gatomon surveyed him for a moment, then smiled. "Shoutmon, from what I know about you, you care for others, you protect them from harm, and you're willing to give your time and energy into being a good influence on those you care about. As far as I'm concerned, that's all the qualifications you need to be a parent."
Luneth then revealed that he wanted to go back with Adrian and Shoutmon to the human world and live with them. This somewhat surprised Skye, but, if it was Luneth's true wishes, then she'd support him.
"Alright. Just take care in that world. It's not as forgiving as this world in regards to who you are." she advised. Then she smiled. "If Luneth truly wants to go to the human world and live among them, I trust you two to guide him safely."
Then all at once, the meeting took something of an explosive change. Another digimon entered the house with a bright flash of fire and flair, thankfully nothing caught fire though. Skye's reflexes made her take an attacking pose, claws exposed, but when she saw that the new digimon was a Coronamon that was posing for an entrance, she held off in attacking him. She saw the holy ring on his tail, and the fur on his front was white, plus she smelled familiarity about him. This made her lower her guard. What... was this?
"Rory in the house, baby!!!" the Coronamon cheered. "The Fresh Prince of the Village of Beginnings, here to meet both his parents! Man I can't believe I managed to find you two so quickly! It's so good to see you!"
He calmed down somewhat and made a polite bow. "I'm told that I'm the son of Skye and Shoutmon, and I see you're both here, so hello, mom and dad." he said.
"Um..." Skye honestly didn't know how to respond to that opening. However, once the flashiness had calmed down, she stepped closer to see if it was true. The holy ring on his tail matched her own for a start, and the fact that the fur on his front was white, matching Shoutmon's coloration was another clue. He smelled almost the same as Luneth, and, lastly, he had the same sky-blue eyes that she, Shoutmon and Luneth had. So, that pretty much confirmed it.
"So... Rory, you're saying that you're also our son?" Skye asked.
"Correct, mom. Hopefully you're impressed?" Rory replied, looking a little worried that he wasn't being well received.
"Well then. From what I see so far, I believe you." Skye concluded, and hugged him like she had with Luneth and Shoutmon so far. "Welcome, Rory. In fact I'm quite glad you made it here, you're just in time to meet your brother Luneth."
"I... HAVE A BROTHER?!" Rory repeated, his excitement overflowing. He soon looked at the Hackmon. "This is fantastic! I'm so glad to meet you, Luneth! Heh, I see you've taken after dad's Dragon side, while it looks like I've taken after mom's Beast side. So, what's the current situation?"
"Currently registering the fact that our family's number has doubled in the past hour apparently." Skye replied. She turned to the others, wondering how they'd react to Rory now joining them.

When Skye was finished speaking, a clear blush was present on Shoutmon's cheeks, the musical 'mon not knowing how to properly respond. "C-C'mon, Skye, you're making me out to be a saint or somethin', which I am clearly not."
"No one's perfect, Shoutmon," Adrian said, "But I agree with Skye. You do have all the qualities for being a good parent, and you won't be alone. Skye and I both will help you out if it gets tough." This just made the blush on Shoutmon's face grow even more, causing Adrian to let out a small chuckle.
With Luneth's request in question, Skye had allowed him to go through with it, and trusted Adrian and Shoutmon to help guide him. "Yeah, you can count on us, Skye." Adrian turned back to face Luneth. "My house won't exactly be... suitable for another Digimon to live in, but once we get you enrolled at the school you can stay in one of the dorms there. Shoutmon and I could visit as often as we can, and you're always welcome to visit us, too."
"Thank you, Adrian. Um... what exactly is a dorm, may I ask?"
Before his question could be answered, a new Digimon had suddenly burst into the room. Shoutmon and Luneth also went on the offensive much like Skye, but both stopped when they saw that it was a Coronamon... with a white belly, much like the one Shoutmon had. He was just as confused as Skye was at this moment.
Another bomb was dropped when this Coronamon exclaimed that he was also the son of Shoutmon and Skye. "Wha..." Adrian was simply having trouble processing this, as it happened so fast. The Coronamon, who revealed his name to be Rory, then looked over at Luneth, expressing his excitement to meet his new brother, commenting that he took after Shoutmon's dragon side, while Rory took after Skye's beast side. "It looks like you have Shoutmon's energy as well."
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Rory," Luneth told the Coronamon with a slight bow, "But, uh... there aren't any more siblings coming over, are there?"
If one were to look at Shoutmon right now... well, he was the most surprised out of anyone there. He looked completely distraught by the whole thing; he just learned he had ONE son, now he suddenly has TWO?! How to you process something like that?

Skye chuckled from Shoutmon's reaction. "Well, yeah, not a saint, but, if I didn't think you were a decent person, I'd let you know that." she said. She wouldn't fawn over him and say untruths, but she would say things she honestly believed if she thought they would be constructive.
So, with the knowledge that Shoutmon and Adrian would take care of Luneth in the human world, Skye was reassured that it would work out nicely. "Alright then, sounds good." she said.
Following Rory's entrance, there was something of an awkward silence as everyone registered what was going on. Thankfully it was mostly accepting. First, Rory turned to Adrian.
"Heh, guess I do." he said, grinning. "And given that you're my dad's tamer, I guess that makes you my grand-tamer?" he knuckled his chin in thought and turned to Skye. "Is that the right terminology, mom?"
"I honestly don't know." Skye shrugged. "But if that's what you want to use...?" she looked at Adrian with curiosity to see how he would take that title.
Next, Rory turned to Luneth, who seemed glad to meet him, as he had hoped, but then asked if there were any more siblings expected. "Well... you never know, but, I hope not." the Coronamon admitted, chuckling. "Only so many new family members you can meet in a day before it gets ridiculous."
"You know we used to joke about Owen on that subject, but, now that it's happened here, I don't think we'll be doing that anymore." Jorge the Shoutmon joked, having been sitting in the corner with Hickory, watching this whole spectacle with interest.
Skye then turned back to Shoutmon, hoping he was taking this alright. "So, uh, turns out this had been a pretty eventful day..." she began. "So, you holding up alright there, hun?"

Luneth watched as the human and his mother had highly praised his father like that. Now he was willing to admit that there was probably something that he wasn't seeing, but there was nothing about Shoutmon that Luneth could respect. It was as if he just refused to believe all the things that was being said about him. It looked like Luneth was going to have to get along with Shoutmon though, since he was going to be staying in the human world with him.
The Coronamon, Rory, turned to Adrian and asked if he was Rory's "grand-Tamer", since he was his father's Tamer. Adrian chuckled. "Ah, it sounds weird to be called that. Why don't you just refer to me as a friend?"
Rory turned to Luneth next, saying he hoped that no more family members show up, but you never know. "How long ago were you hatched, Rory? I left the Village of Beginnings three months ago, and I was never told that I had a brother."
The other Shoutmon Jorge had commented that they'll never joke about Owen about his never-ending family again after what they just saw here. If Shoutmon wasn't still trying to process this he would've retorted back at him. He was definitely not holding up at all.
"I think he's broken..."

Rory in the end agreed with that arrangement. "Okay, then you're my friend." he said, offering to shake hands with Adrian. After all, the human partner of his father was a good bet of being a good person, so he was willing to bet on that.
Then Luneth asked how long ago Rory had hatched in the Village of Beginnings. The Coronamon pondered that for a moment, then answered. "Two months." he answered. He then rubbed his chin. "Hmm, interesting circumstances. Mom, do you maybe know what happened?"
"Well, me and your father have been sparring regularly in the past few months to bolster our powers for when they may be needed." Skye replied. "I guess, that, since we've become so enamored with each other, that, when we've hit the other hard enough that data has sprung loose, that, our different data combined with the love we feel for each other has combined, I guess, that's how you and your brother came to be formed in the Village of Beginnings?"
Rory pondered this for a moment. At the very least, it checked enough boxes in his mind to make sense, so he accepted that as a plausible explanation for why he was here.
"Okay then! So I'm a child of passion, just as expected!" he declared, smiling. He then looked at the heirlooms around the room. "Ooh, so you were a military hero, mom?"
"Well... I guess I was..." Skye answered, awkwardly. This was overwhelming her a little here. However, looking between Shoutmon, Jorge and Hickory here, she couldn't help but give a smile.
"Heh, Rory sure is a lively one." Jorge remarked as the Coronamon took in all the information about his new family.

Adrian smiled, kneeling down and accepting the little Coronamon's handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Rory." Adrian could definitely tell that Rory would get himself into many different hijinks, much like his father had done before. For some reason he didn't get that feeling with Luneth. "You're welcome to visit us in the human world anytime you want."
When Luneth asked Rory about when he hatched, the Coronamon said that he hatched around two months ago, prompting Rory to ask Skye how it even happened. The Gatomon proposed that it happened while Shoutmon and Skye had been training to push the latter to the next stage of Digivolution, the data that they had hit off of each other had combined and formed at the Village of Beginnings.
"M-Maybe we should limit how hard we push when we train then..." Shoutmon suggested with an uncharacteristically nervous expression.
Rory then got a look at the heirlooms that Luneth had been observing not too long ago, piecing together that Skye was a war hero as well. Luneth walked up next to the Coronamon. "It'll be our jobs to uphold the honor that Mother had earned over her lifetime. I'm going to be attending a school in the human world in order to do so. What will you do, Rory?"
Adrian had been noticing that his partner was... not himself at the moment. While the two brothers were occupied, Adrian knelt down to the Gatomon and whispered, "Skye, think you could take Shoutmon somewhere to talk? I don't think he's taking any of this in well at all."

Rory grinned as he shook Adrian's hand. The offer to meet them in the human world was enticing, but, the Coronamon felt as though he'd much rather stay in the digital world for the time being. "Thanks! But it'll probably be a while before I do that. Got lots to learn this side for the time being."
After Skye voiced her theory about how they suddenly had two sons, understandably Shoutmon seemed a little embarrassed about how it had happened. In return, Skye blushed a little when she had realized her feelings in one particular spar, where she had been somewhat more playful and interested in Shoutmon as they sparred. It seemed that those emotions had probably been the most likely cause of why Luneth and Rory were here today.
"Um... yeah, let's keep that in mind." was all she could say in response. Hickory and Jorge understood what was going on, and hid their expressions of mirth. Rory just blinked.
Luneth then declared that he'll uphold the family values by attending school in the human world. Then he asked what Rory would do.
"Uh... haven't really thought about that to be honest." Rory admitted.
"I know what you could do." Skye said quickly. "You can attend school in the digital world. My old comm- I mean, my old friend Owen the Gaomon, he's a teacher in Rosewood. He specializes in combat training and survivalist skills." she looked between him and Luneth. "That way you can both learn from yourselves and each other, perhaps?"
"Well... why can't I learn from you, mom?" Rory asked, curiously. Skye couldn't help but smile in response.
"I can teach you things too in our own time, Rory, don't worry. Just Owen specializes in education, and he can do a better job in those things than I can." she turned to the others. "In fact, I'm growing kinda tired of living in Rustport. How about we move to Rosewood too?"
"Ooh, really?! In that case, yeah, I'll go to school and learn from Owen!" Rory declared, eager for this arrangement. He'd live with his mother and go to school, and Rosewood was easily accessible to the human world thanks to the Trailmon network too, so he'd easily be able to see his dad a lot too.
Skye then listened to Adrian, who said that she should probably talk with Shoutmon in private. She nodded. "Hey, Shoutmon, can we talk outside for a bit?" she asked.
Once they were alone, Jorge and Hickory taking up their roles as hosts for their guests, Skye talked to the red and white reptile digimon. "So, uh... how are you holding up about this?" she asked, awkwardly but gently.

Shoutmon and Skye both blushed and seemed a bit awkward when the latter shared her theory on why Luneth and Rory are here now. It's never an easy thing to admit to someone that you like them, but the way she described it was definitely something. Adrian was trying to hide his expression just like Hickory and Jorge were, with Luneth just blinking along with Rory.
Rory admitted that he didn't know what he was going to do now that he met his family. Skye was quick to suggest that he goes to school in Rosewood, where Owen was a teacher at. "Owen still runs the school, huh? Shoutmon and I once helped him out while the town was being built along with a couple other friends. I think you'd be in good hands, Rory."
Skye looked between the two siblings and said that they could learn from each other, going to schools in two different worlds. "That does sound interesting, Mother... what do you think about that, Rory? I'm sure there's a way we can remain in touch between worlds."
Rory seemed excited about the prospect of attending school in Rosewood, especially with Skye offering to move there to live with the energetic Coronamon. Afterwards, Skye brought Shoutmon outside so they could talk alone, asking the red dragon how he was holding up with this. "Blah," Shoutmon responded, "that's how I'm holding up. I'm not father material, Skye, I never was. I never even wanted what Owen and Hikaru have, at least not yet. Plus I have a feeling that Luneth doesn't even like me..."
Back inside, Luneth looked towards his brother. "Are you hungry, Rory? Mother made a noodle soup when I arrived, there should still be some left over."

Skye turned to Adrian when he mentioned that he and Shoutmon once met him there in his role. "Ah, that's wonderful. Owen told me that it's his main goal to make sure every rookie digimon that makes the trip to Rosewood from the Village of Beginnings has a good chance in life, whatever they choose. I've seen good promise in the digimon he's been training, so I think it'd be great if Rory learned from him."
"Uh... that's all great and all, but what's he like, mom?" Rory asked, a little uncertain all of a sudden.
"He's a fair teacher. Also, given he married Hikaru the Dorumon, he'd be fully understanding of your... passions." Skye answered. Rory beamed at that, thinking it'd be a sweet setup.
Then Luneth raised the issue of communicating between worlds. "Oh! Yeah! We have Tamernet for that, I'll chat with you whenever I get the chance, bro!" the Coronamon declared.
When Skye was outside and listened to Shoutmon's words, she was somewhat concerned. While, yes, this was most unexpected, she felt the need to put her foot down here.
"Well, whether you like it or not, Luneth and Rory exist, and they're our children." she replied. "I understand that it's something of a shock for you, and, I'm very sorry that you were not ready for them yet, but, we cannot shirk our duties as parents to these two. Our only ethical choice is to be there for them when they need us. If we reject them, who else will they turn to?"
Skye hoped that Shoutmon understood this situation as she did. But she'd be fine to explain her thoughts further.
Meanwhile, Rory looked at Luneth when he mentioned noodle soup was available. "Oh, ye gods, I'd love that!" the Coronamon exclaimed. "Could you please serve me a bowl of that, dear brother?"

"We also helped him and Bezil out with safely getting a group of new rookies over to Rosewood with a few others, but uh... it didn't go exactly as planned. Some Flybeemon stopped us and tried to prevent us from getting there, thinking that Rosewood was like some kind of abomination from the way Digimon apparently used to live. All ended well enough, at least."
Luneth listened closely as Skye explained more about who Owen really was as a Digimon, and based on her descriptions he sounded like an exceptional Digimon. The Hackmon hoped that he'd get to meet Owen one day as well... he also was curious about Hikaru, by the way Skye briefly talked about him.
On the topic of communication, Rory suggested that they could use Tamernet for talking between worlds. Luneth tilted his head. "Tamernet? What's that?"
Back with Shoutmon and Skye, the latter's words had calmed down the former somewhat. She was right; they WERE the parents, who else would they turn to if they needed them? "You're right, you're right... them showing up was just a little bit much to handle. I'm not gonna reject them, Skye, I promise."
Meanwhile, Luneth returned back to the kitchen and served up three more servings; one for himself, one for Rory, and one for Adrian. He handed a bowl to the human and then one to his brother. "Here you go, Rory."

The digimon present listened to Adrian's story about how they had to protect a troupe of newly evolved Rookie digimon from a nasty group of Flybeemon. Rory was horrified to the point that he had nothing to say, but Skye sighed and folded her arms, understanding the reason.
"Some native digimon of the Timberlands see the way of the wild as superior to that of civilization." she said. "Rosewood is the antithesis to what they believe in, so of course they'd have a go at you for supporting it. I just hope good people like you can continue to help out where it counts."
When Luneth inquired about Tamernet, Rory was happy to answer. "Oh, it's this digital world social media network that most people can use. Some digimon taught me the ropes, I think her name was Gaz? Anyway, basically, all you need is a terminal, and, you can hook up to the network and talk with all sorts of other tamers. Best only talk to those you know though, I tried talking to strangers, and, most of them were... weird."
When Skye was outside and talking to Shoutmon, she was glad to hear that he wouldn't reject them. "I'm glad to hear that. I really am." she would offer a hug at this point. "I know this must be hard on you, Shoutmon, but, we have to stay together as best we can. How about we start off nice and easy? We just provide for Luneth and Rory as best we can? Any problems, we have plenty of friends we can ask for help, right?"
Rory meanwhile was delighted at being served some food. "Cheers, bro!" he said, then ate it with leisure. He wasn't afraid of it going cold, mainly because he could easily heat it up to the appropriate temperature in a jiffy.
Once he was finished, he took a drink of water, wiped his mouth then looked around in general. "Okay, so, what's next?" he asked, eager to continue this exciting day.
