Loire smirked. Even on a veritably huge eel, it was the conniving expression of somebody who had just watched things unfolded exactly as she wanted them. Or that got some cookies out of the jar when their surrogate parent wasn’t noticing.
She watched how the digimon shielded against her attack. Not even an instant afterward? The same flaming boulder that had hovered over everyone’s heads spawned once again, and broke away in exactly the same pattern, with exactly the same dose of lethality as the last time. No need to change a move that, more or less, had the intended effect, after all!
Now, the duo were decisively on the offensive, and had to press it enough to deal with the impending threat. They were still quite far off being in the out-of-danger zone, but at the very least, Loire liked their current position more than when she had arrived. As long as no surprises were in the horizon, they’d be fine. Passive Abilities: —Will of the Council [Team Ability - Passive]: All the members of this team and the ability performed by them can choose to completely ignore the effects of passive defensive abilities that might affect them in any way. —Council's Accord [Team Ability #2 - Passive]: Team members can choose whether their abilities affect anyone or anything subjected to them or not. —Quid Pro Quo [Passive]: If any of Loire’s abilities would fail to hit its intended target, she may choose to allot that ability’s cooldown period to any of the attacks she has access to.
Firestorm's cooldown was alloted to Encroaching Squall.
Ability Used: —Firestorm: An enormous fireball manifests in the sky, then breaks down into a veritable rain of the stuff. The fire’s so intense and it burns so hot that anybody struck by this ability is unable to attack momentarily. Duration: 1 post. Cooldown: 3 posts.
It won't damage neither Syre nor Loire thanks to Council's Accord.
Cooldowns: Tempest Halberd: 2/3. Encroaching Squall: 1/3.

It was nigh impossible to understand what could possibly be going through the entity's mind as the fight continued, it's outer shell showing nothing resembling a face or a body that could show emotions, while it's inner layer of smoke, it's "pilot" was less than an amorphous blob of smoke, tbe two glowing dots that one could be mistaken for thinking it was it's eyes meanwhile never stood in one place for longer than a second or two.
However, it was only nigh impossible to get a read, it didn't took much mental power to see it was probably getting desperate, or at the very least agitated, based purely on the increasingly erratic, almost panicked movements of the smoke cloud within the crystal as it continued to be bombarded by attacks.
First Syre's icy wave of energy crashing against the shield, shattering it into hundreds of small shards that would no doubt nick or at least cut the other two a bit, but it was more than a fair trade considering what came next. Syre's fox came next, it's ice covered shape pushing the crystal backwards even more, just as Loire's hellish rain once again impacted the crystal from above, this time no shield being present to soften the many blows as the creature found itself being crushed further and further into the cement, it's diamond like body slowly but surely showing more and more sighs of damage. Cracks, dents and all manner of burns marred the once smooth outside shell, the creature for the first time letting out a shrill screech that could only be of sheer pain. Or anger.
It didn't even waited for the attack to be over, for the smoke to clear before retaliating, no longer caring about who could go down first, just needing a moment to recompose itself asap. Behind the rising smoke curtain that came from Loire's attack, a familiar flash of light and energy could be spotted, before a massive beam shaped energy wave cut through the smoke, aiming in the general direction of the two digimon. Even if they dodged it, Syre should know full well what would come with it. Surely the ensuing explosion would give them something to think about for a moment.
Ablation: Shoots out a single concentrated beam of energy, a large explosion of energy happening not long after on the impact zone. Deals damage to any target directly hit by the beam and any targets caught on the blast range of the explosion. 5 posts cooldown.
Cooldowns:

Go... down... already!
Syre looked on as that last barrage shredded through the MoonMilleniummon. Even as the shards of that shield shredded through her arms, the Kuzuhamon kept her tension, looking right towards her target. It was cracked, the monster hurt, but it still wouldn't go down, even with the assistance of Amy's reinforcements! It was all Syre could do to try and buy a little more time, but at this rate...
At this rate...
That thought echoed through her head again as she saw the MoonMilleniummon charge something massive. A powerful, dense laser was shot out in their direction - perhaps not hard to dodge, but that was hardly the problem. No: the walls of this warehouse wouldn't last if they took a direct hit from something like that. And an errant blast from this monster might end up hitting at any point of the outer walls of the city, causing destruction and chaos from wherever it landed - if not destroying this place's bizarre gravity outright.
The mega bit her lip, resolved herself, and forced her palms forward, once more calling forth her Holy Barrier, and met that Ablation blast head-on. For a mere moment, it almost felt like the barrier would hold, but it would be quickly overwhelmed, a slightly dulled blast hitting the Kuzuhamon dead-center, that powerful explosion ripping straight through the warehouse shortly after. Like this, Syre knew she could restrict the damage to this attack to the warehouse around them.
But as the smoke would clear, a much smaller silhouette was shown through the smoke. It was Syre, as a BlackGatomon, without even a tail ring. Her posture was slumped forward, her eyes locked right on the crystalline monster ahead of her, a blade of energy flickering in the grip of her right hand.
"... Don't... hurt... auntie's... dream..."

Had Loire been more easily distracted, the clash between energy beam and shield have probably caught every inch of her attention. Truth was that, while a magnificent spectacle from her point of view, it was no less deadly. It didn’t seem like something that would end well, and nonetheless… it wasn’t.
Congermon had to move fast if she looked to avoid the repercussions of such a powerful technique; luckily, as she hadn’t been the main target and due to Syre’s cover, the damage she had received hadn’t been nowhere near as severe as what Syre had go through.
Amid the collapsing warehouse, the eel could get a decent look at both the digimon that had been a Kuzuhamon not very long ago and at their common enemy. It was a strange moment of respite, and probably what the millenniummon wanted, but… this situation was pretty critical at the moment, and considering what was at stake, the actions needed to be done were more than obvious.
“Come on, girl.” She called out, encouragingly. “Don’t give up just yet. We oughta kick this dude to the curb, y’know?”
Syre would be able to observe a small torrent of earth being channeled straight into her body. If she let it in, she’d feel her strength and vigor returning to her, hopefully in hand with an injection of fighting spirit! It’d be the easiest way to kick out this thread from Deeplane; hopefully for good.

Ability Used: —Bloodstone Infusion: A torrent of crimson-colored earth is channeled into an ally’s body, greatly invigorating them. Restores a single digimon to full health and removes all status ailments. Cooldown: Once per thread.
It won't damage neither Syre nor Loire thanks to Council's Accord.

With the creature's attack the warehouse almost found itself losing another one of it's walls, and the damage would have certainly extended farther beyond that had it not been for Syre's willingness to tank the attack head on. A puzzling choice, at least for the crystallized being, but it worked out in it's favor regardless, as it became clear once it saw it's target being brought back down to a weakened rookie state. A defenseless, easy prey for the being.
Or at least, it would have been, but despite the impression it's now marred and cracked outer shell gave, the being was not impervious. After that last massive release of energy it was now lying motionless in the floor, the smoky "pilot" inside the crystal pulsating weakly. It was plain to see that last attack had taken almost as much from the being as it did Syre.
It too was on it's limit. But if only it could manage to take a hold of that small rookie, her data should suffice to bring the creature back to it's best and then some. But for that it had to finish her, and Loire was not going to make that easy for the digimon, as she seemed to be sending some sort of energy to help Syre out. The creature quickly got back on the move again, perhaps concerned that this reprieve would give it's target a chance to counterattack and finish the fight up for good.
After a short moment of vibrating in place yet again, the crystal would displace itself once more, again appearing just above the weakened cat, and attempted to crush her once and for all.
Trepanning: Simplicity=efficiency. Teleports close to an enemy and attempts to crush them with the lower section of the crystal. 2 posts cooldown.

This was bad.
Syre had managed to prevent extensive damage to the town, sure - but it came at the cost of making herself a weak, vulnerable target in the eyes of a crazed Digimon. Even if Loire had managed to get there in time, the BlackGatomon was still a mere BlackGatomon, and could very easily be felled by any one of this crystal monster's techniques. But despite that? There was not one ounce of hesitation in Syre's expression.
Somewhere, deep inside, the cat was terrified. She knew that this might be her end, that she bit off more than she could chew, that maybe she should have given up and run a long time ago... but there was something more driving her in that moment. The mere thought that the monster might get out, might hurt other innocent Digimon, might hurt the city - might hurt auntie - pushed the rookie further. So she did not flinch: the moment that crystal appeared above her, Syre grit her teeth, and defied logic, raising her left forearm up in the direction of the crystal.
And with a loud 'crack', the crystal would make impact. But it did not meet with the ground beneath Syre. No: several feet away from Syre, the wireframe of a powerful shield came into being, as the feline's own core began to well up with strength. Loire's healing only accelerated the process, Syre's feet confidently planting themselves into the ground, as her whole body began to glow with light.
Her form grew. And it would begin to fill out the wireframe that now expanded around her, until the image would finally make sense:
A Gallantmon now stood - and the crystal had smashed right into the forming shield. One that didn't even show a dent, as the Gallantmon braced her arm right against the disc, the dragon's eyes fiercely locking with her target's.
"Never. I won't let something like you slip me by again - and hurt those closest to me!" [Passive] The Ultimate Shield Gallantmon naturally boasts one of the strongest defense ratings among its type, in large part due to its impressive shield. Physical attacks that strike the shield itself does reduced damage, mostly converted to concussive damage against the left arm. The shield can be destroyed, with great effort, in which case the shield is lost for the remainder of the fight.

The next seconds might as well have been centuries. The fight had —understandably— turned desperate; it was somewhat clear that Syre and Loire’s shared enemy was on its last legs, yet also that they were racing before a fatal casualty could occur.
Would they be able to? That was one hard to answer question, even though one that would ultimately answer itself; almost in slow motion, the crystal moved in for the kill, and for the briefest moment, the eel thought that the battle was lost.
However, it wasn’t; not squeamish enough to avert her gaze to what was extremely likely to be a fatal blow, the digimon beheld how the now-Gallantmon had successfully protected herself using her shield. Talk about a timely save!
“Looking good, Syre.” The Congermon complimented, a hint of giddy excitement not quite fitting with the situation in her voice. The corner had been turned and that, ultimately, could only mean one thing.
The Moon=Millenniummon had picked on the wrong pair of digimons.
Firmly behind that had already proven to boast more than considerable defenses, Loire’s body made a quick motion before the sky crackled violently and sent a bolt directly to the Millenniummon’s location. The gem-based digimon had seen this attack before, but it wasn’t like that would make it any less effective, right?
It might be too early to cheer and pat themselves in the back, but as things stood at the moment, Loire was pretty confident on their chances in this fight. Their enemy was outgunned, outnumbered, and completely cornered at the moment. The question was whether it would fight until the end or try to escape now that things were so staggeringly against them.
Ability Used: —Tempest Halberd: Calls forth a thunderbolt with the intention to fry an opponent and anyone else in the immediate vicinity of the attack’s point of impact. The violent and erratic nature of this attack ensures that it gets through pretty much anything that tries to block or defend against it. Cooldown: 3 posts.
It won't damage neither Syre nor Loire thanks to Council's Accord.
Cooldowns: Encroaching Squall: 2/3. Firestorm: 1/3. Tempest Halberd: 0/3.

Unimpeded and unstoppable the crystaline creature came crushing down on top of Syre at a blinding speed, enough to shatter concrete and crush anything underneath it into digital mush. And as expected, the creature landed against a hard surface with a powerful crack...except it wasn't the concrete floor it expected.
A severe lapse in judgement. A miscalculation. A huge freaking mistake.
This and more were all the possible ways the nearly undesipherable cloud of thoughts the Moon Millenniummon had to describe it's current situation as it witnessed a circular wireframe of data forming on top of the cat, the vague shape of light morfing into what looked like a shield. And behind that shield no longer stood a mere black feline of a very frail looking body, but a knight clad in armor that nearly matched the crystal in size. The crystal let out another screeching sound, one of unmistakable fear.
It had not only met it's match, it had inadvertedly helped will it into being.
Just as the creature tried to move back it found itself struck from above again, a bolt of divine Loire retribution coursing through it's entire crystalized being, making more cracks appear all over it's surface as it clumsily tumbled forwards and crashed loudly against the floor, not unlike a tree being cut down.
Once there it laid, vibrating in place but unable to make any meaningful move, other than screech in fear and hatred, the cracks on it's surface slowly expanding more and more, pressurized black smoke escaping from some of the deeper cracks like steam escaping from a broken vent. And from said smoke came, what else, more sharp tendrils that wasted no time lunging towards Syre. It might be down, but without a clear escape route the only course of action for the digimon was fight. And so it would fight to the bitter end.
It was better than the alternative.
a±b: Small trendils of dark matter escape through the cracks of the crystal and attempt to impale any enemies in the vicinity. If succesful it deals heavy damage and heals MoonMilleniunmon back by half of the total damage dealt. 3 posts cooldown.

Post by Syre the BlackGatomon on Feb 13, 2021 17:10:22 GMT
At the moment, it felt like Loire's voice was merely an echo in Syre's ears, as the freshly-formed Gallantmon kept her eyes fiercely on her target. Pushed to the edge, and nearly beyond it, Syre had managed to ascend to the level of a truly powerful Digimon - a state she could only achieve, at this point, through sheer grit and desperation.
Her body knew that it couldn't hold this form for long. Her eyes narrowed, the dragon's focus entirely on the target right in front of her. As the MoonMilleniumon crashed onto the floor, and as Loire continued her assault, Syre squared her stance towards her adversary. And, like a cornered rat, the crystalline monster once more tried to strike at Syre with an array of powerful, sharp, dark tendrils.
However, Syre simply wasn't the same type of Digimon she was before. All she had to do was raise her shield arm: the tendrils would find themselves striking at something impossibly hard, only faint scratches digging into the metal. The shield itself was aimed right towards the crystal, the design on the shield beginning to pulse a bright crimson.
"JUSTICE SHIELD.""
The declaration was loud, and the attack obvious: a massive torrent of arcane energy poured right out of that metallic surface, intent on finishing off the monster in front of her in one fell swoop. The rest of the warehouse might not survive the impact, but to take this monster out?
Yeah, she could apologize to Amy later.
[Passive] The Ultimate Shield Gallantmon naturally boasts one of the strongest defense ratings among its type, in large part due to its impressive shield. Physical attacks that strike the shield itself does reduced damage, mostly converted to concussive damage against the left arm. The shield can be destroyed, with great effort, in which case the shield is lost for the remainder of the fight. Justice Shield [0/3] A powerful attack, primed from a still position. Syre holds up her shield, the metal disc gaining a radiant glow, before letting out a massive beam of arcane energy in one direction. Massively destructive, even at extreme range, though it is limited to the direction the shield is facing - and the aim can't be changed once the attack starts.

It seemed like the result of the fight was pretty much set in stone by now. Syre’s new form was nothing short of overpowering and the Moon=Millenniummon was evidently on its last legs.
In short that meant that a toothy grin was already plastered across Loire’s face. Ultra level or not, she had been giddy for a while regarding the use of a certain ability that pain in the ass Amelie had cautioned against in the past. Good thing she wasn’t here to object to it, right?
Energy began to amass within the Congermon’s jaws, up to limits that few would think possible. It took her a few moments, but she eventually breathed out what could only be described as colorful, yet pure devastation on her enemy’s body. As it stood, the Millenniumon better avoid that and Syre’s attack, or it’d be in an even more precarious situation than the one he was in right now.
Not like that mattered, though! Loire couldn’t help but to smile to herself. That had looked amazing! "Well. I don't know about you, but I think we're done here." Passive Abilities: —Will of the Council [Team Ability - Passive]: All the members of this team and the ability performed by them can choose to completely ignore the effects of passive defensive abilities that might affect them in any way. —Council's Accord [Team Ability #2 - Passive]: Team members can choose whether their abilities affect anyone or anything subjected to them or not.
Ability Used: —Northern Lights: A maelstrom of every possible element converges in Loire’s mouth, just to be released in the form of a colorful and powerful bombardment, capable of dealing devastating amounts of damage over a large area, or focus on a single spot for maximum destructive potential Deals a very high amount of damage, bypasses any defensive measures that might come in its way, and deals bonus damage according to its target(s) elemental weaknesses, if any. Cooldown: Once per thread, 5 posts if it fails to hit its intended target.
It won't damage neither Syre nor Loire thanks to Council's Accord.
Cooldowns: Encroaching Squall: 3/3. Firestorm: 2/3. Tempest Halberd: 1/3.

As the tendrils bounced almost harmlessly against the knight's shield, the creature knew there was no avoiding what was to come. First came the beam from Syre, making it's already battered crystal shell crack and tear, fragments being chipped away like a glass window being hit by a shockwave. The Moonmillenniumon fell again, this time the smoke locked inside pouring into the air uncontrolably. Even if it still had an ace up it's proverbial sleeve to still come out on top, it didn't have any time left to put it into motion, as it soon felt a massive release of ever changing elemental energy colliding against it.
There was no screeching, no screaming. There was no time.
First the crystal faded into the blinding energy pulse, then the smoke, then everything else.
By the time the dust settled, the crystal was nowhere to be seen, it's monolitic like shape completely obliterated by the combined assault of Syre and Loire, all left behind to prove it's existance was the marks on the battlefield...and a small, opaque mineral lying on the floor, no bigger than a thumb. Of course, there was also no trace of the Keramon either, but that was most likely a given at this point.
And as for what little remaining data was left from the otherwordly crystal? Well, let's just say whatever managed to stay after it's owners deletion didn't last long on it's own, most of it being swept away by the wind as if it were mere dust, and the rest simply found their way back eventually. Deep into places not even the Deep Lane reached yet.
But that's another story.

Just as quick as Syre took that new form, it was over. In one combined flash of blinding light, that accursed crystal had vanished from their gaze, only the barest bits of data flowing away in the wind.
The warehouse, of course, was now little more than a charred mess. The Gallantmon took a step forward, putting herself on top of the rubble, before falling down on one knee. Both the shield and the lance in Syre's arms vanished, as the Knight further fell forward, data beginning to stream away from her form.
Loire would likely be familiar with the situation: as Syre had stressed herself to reach this form, and had next to no control over it, the feline was quickly losing energy. The Gallantmon's body was replaced with a wireframe, and then a glowing light as the form shrunk further. Past Sistermon Noir, Syre would be reduced to her rookie form, not even having a ring left on her tail.
Face down on the ground, too tired to move, the feline felt a strong wave of fatigue roll through her body - only one word escaping her fangs before she lost consciousness.
"Auntie..."

Not much remained once the dust settled. There was one wrecked warehouse from one side, an obliterated digimon, and an exhausted Syre. A job well done, at least on Loire’s eyes.
Especially given the fact that she wasn’t in charge of cleaning up; that was the biggest upside of this whole situation. The eel proceeded to undo her evolution and to activate her holosuit; at least in that regard, she had some more practice than her peer.
Was she tired? Yep, but there was also the satisfaction of having succeeded at a situation where the stakes were very real. It wasn’t like that mattered a lot right now, though. It was probably in the small girl’s best interests to reunite the separated pair, and maybe to celebrate that everyone was still in one piece. Worth, right?
Anyway, probably for the best if she got going for once. She walked towards the fallen Gatomon and gingerly lifted her up, cradling her in between her arms. “You did a good job…” For a moment, the brunette seemed at a loss of words. “Counsinie?” She visibly cringed at that. “Ew. That sounds awful. Wonder if there’s a cutesy way to refer to one’s cousins…”
With the question of her lifetime within her mind, Loire began to walk towards Deephold. Highly likely Amelie was there; with any luck, her wounds wouldn’t be a big deal either. [Exit]
