It had been another rather long stretch of time since Faustein had gotten entangled with the impertinent Agumon Expert and its snarky helper, the Terriermon Assistant. Since that time, he had been on the road again with his two Xros twin partners, Taser the Kokuwamon, and its companion unit, Lego the ShadowToyAgumon. Since then, they had unlocked their memories of their past lives when they had been a single unit which he came to know as the vehicle digimon called “Mekanorimon”. This, in turn, had led to them unlocking a strange ability which he now knew to be called “DNA Digivolution” which apparently allowed them to recapitulate their past form of “Mekanorimon”. The acquisition of this new ability had facilitated his movement and navigation through the Digital World by a fair degree since he had discovered that he could actually ride inside it as though it were some mecha from Power Rangers or Zoids.
Currently, though, he and these two partners of his were making their way through a particularly dense forested area known as the Eastern Timberlands. Why this exotic locale, you ask? Well, they certainly had not gotten lost, that’s for sure. No, they came to this forest in search of a specific type of secret honey, one that was rumored to be produced through a closely guarded process executed aboard something mysterious structure known only as the “Royal Hive”. He had first gotten a taste of this miracle honey when he stopped at a nearby tavern owned and ran by a Lilymon. During the course of his stay, when he had been in the middle of his dinner, she had introduced it to him as a dessert. It had been one of the most marvelous tastes his taste buds had ever encountered in his life. Furthermore, it was leagues ahead of human world honey in superiority of taste, texture, aroma, and other such parameters. Naturally, due to this, he had gotten addicted to it and it was now one of the things he craved, just as much as fluffing a fluffy digimon. As one would expect, he had made it his goal to acquire a supply of this honey for his own private stores.
Apparently, according to the local digimon whom he had consulted about the matter, the fortress which was the source of the exquisite honey was also the abode of all the Beemon digimon species. Unfortunately, he had not been able to glean any further data on the topic due to the lack of accurate sightings and research on it. Hence, he was forced to go searching for it on his own. This brings the story up to the present time in which Faustein was making his way through the thickets of the Timberlands.
Hmm, hives are normally found wherever there may be trees…and since that structure is known as the “Royal Hive” it ought to be situated here…
Musing thus, he, Taser, and Lego slowly traversed the verdant terrain, with Faustein stopping at the biodiversity of the place every so often. Little did he know that soon, he would indeed find the object of his fascination. However, it would end up landing him in a rather sticky situation as a result.

Mandrake was making his way through a forest in the Eastern Timberlands. He was passing through the forest on his way to a village where hopefully he could gather some more information on his friend. Blue eyes took in the thick growth as he kept alert for trouble. When one was in the Digital World even a seemingly tranquil forest could possess hidden dangers. So far he hadn't sensed anything with his telepathy but some where able to hide themselves from detection from telepaths such as himself.
After awhile things had gotten quiet and he couldn't even sense others until he sensed three beings ahead of him. Whether that was coincidence or not Mandrake would have to get closer to know for sure. So he carefully made his approach sensing a human and one, no two digimon. A tamer with twins perhaps. At the moment it was impossible to tell for sure as he couldn't even see them yet. As he drew closer he had a feeling that he might find trouble.

"Taser, is there anything within a 100 m radius from our position that resembles some kind of enormous structure?"
Faustein asked the insectoid robotic digimon which was currently clipping some vines that become obstacles in their path. In response, Taser stopped its current activity and trained its senses upon the current part of their surroundings after making its usual series of beeping noises and conducting electrical arcs between its plug horns.
"Instructions acknowledged. Initiating surveillance protocol in 3...2...1."
With that, it released a scanning pulse to cover an area all around their location with the designated dimensions. Then, all three of them waited to see if the pulse would pick up anything. However, thanks to the thick growth of flora which was omnipresent, it was unable to detect anything of the sort that Faustein had in mind.
"Activity Report: Area scan complete, Target detection unsuccessful. Awaiting further instructions, General."
Faustein frowned a little as he heard Taser reply in the negative, but then sighed and let Taser return to its former activity of path clearance while turning to Lego.
"Lego, disassemble your ocular body components and send them as drones to scout ahead within a 50 m radius all around our location."
Lego acquiesced and extracted its eyes and sent them out as scouting drones to survey the area instructed by Faustein. Then, all three of them waited once more to see if anything would come up as a detection hit. After a few minutes, the drones came back but did not have any information contained in their database regarding the object of interest, aka the "Royal Hive".
"Activity Report: Area scan complete, Target detection unsuccessful. Awaiting further instructions, General."
Nevertheless Lego reported it to Faustein, whose frown deepened ever so slightly, but the rest of his face still remained as impassive as ever.
"Understood. I suppose if it were that easy to find, there would have been more data on it...Very well, off we go, once more."
Saying thus, he led his two digimon down the new path deeper into the forest since Taser had finished clearing the path for the team.

As Mandrake moved on vines started to become more of a hinderance then his short claws could handle. Channeling his magic into his Storm Scythe attack, a black scythe came into view in his hands. Utilizing the scythe, he began swinging it through the vines making short work of them as he walked. The three presences his telepathic ability alerted him too were slowly becoming closer even though he still couldn't see them yet. With all the flora impairing his way it would still take some time.
Things became curious when he spotted small objects flying like drones in the air as if doing a reconnaissance scan judging from the flight patterns. Most likely had something to do with the strangers he sensed. As he could barely see the objects it was likely he was out of the scanning range. Soon the objects drifted out of sight and it seemed curiosity drew the blue eyed Impmon onward. He figured he could at least get a closer look and, judging by the plant life, the strangers were having just as much trouble navigating as himself even though his scythe made things a bit easier.

In this manner the search continued for what seemed like several hours until finally Faustein's ears picked up the sounds of buzzing...or perhaps whirring as well as the sounds of machinery in the distance. However, it would be unwise to simply charge into the clearing that was faintly visible through the gaps in the trees ahead. Therefore, he settled on the side of caution and gave the appropriate instructions "Taser, fire a scanning pulse forward up to 100 m ahead of our present coordinates. Lego, your task is to guard me from potential harm."His two digimon acknowledged the orders given and set about performing their delegated tasks. Taser, aka Kokuwamon, trained its senses ahead of their position and fired off a wide area scanning pulse and then waited for it to return. Meanwhile, Lego aka ShadowToyAgumon disassembled its upper limbs and set them to a patrol protocol whereby they begain hovering in a circular fashion around Faustein like a pair of satellites would around a planet. Moments later, the scanning pulse came back and so, Taser alerted him "Activity Report: Surveillance task complete. Targets of interest detected in designated location. Awaiting further instructions, General."At last...I have found my elusive prey...Now, how should I approach, I wonder? As the group moved ahead towards the clearing, he mused silently with an impassive face although if one were to observe closely, the glint in his eyes clearly illustrated the sense of excitement which currently had him in its thrall. Before long, they were in proximity to the clearing and spotted their target. It seemed to be some kind of enormous structure which had honeycomb-like sections all over and was clearly equipped with all manner of intriguing devices. Of course, he could not quite make out the types of devices or decipher their function just yet due to the impediment of distance. Regardless, the whole thing exhibited a golden-yellow hue similar to that of honey. "Prodigious! We have reached the Promised Land at long last!"He exclaimed with a smug smirk on his thin lips as he let his senses take in the details of the imposing structure ahead of them.

Finally the vines were thinning making moving through the forest a bit easier. Dispelling his scythe he began pushed his way through the rest of the vines. The strangers were getting closer now. Soon he would be in sight of them, he could feel it. A buzzing sound made him pause in apprehension. Placing a finger on each temple, Mandrake reached out toward the direction of the strangers and the buzzing sound with his telepathic abilities. Many other presences were near and only one conclusion came to mind 'A hive of bee digimon. That's the only thing it can be. This human has no idea what potential danger he could be in. If the digimon perceive him or his partners as threats, they will attack.'
There was little time. This human needed to be warned and fast. Closing his eyes, Mandrake narrowed the focus of his telepathy in an attempt to communicate with the human. "If you can hear me, human, I suggest you turn back now. There is great danger ahead!" Mandrake said telepathically. Hopefully he would be, not only be heard, but his message would be taken seriously. Just in case it wouldn't, he started moving in a very brisk walk toward the human and his partners.

As he began making plans to sneak about whatever the structure was, Faustein heard a voice directly in his mind warning him of apparent danger. So, he looked to his two digimon partners and asked "Taser, Lego, do either of you possess any sort of telepathic ability?"Naturally, they did not and so they responded in the negative "Negative, General. Awaiting instructions."They had denied possession of any such power, so then he looked all around to see if there was anyone or anything else in the vicinity that could have been the source of the telepathic message, but due to all the entangled vines and thick tree trunks around, he did not spot any suspicious targets. Therefore, he shook his head and while muttering about going insane, he led his two digimon into the clearing cautiously, making sure to stay on the periphery among the trees. He spotted a couple of what looked like Fanbeemon, which were small, bee-like digimon. They were flying around the structure, collecting nectar presumably. This group was occasionally checking the area as if they had been tasked with patrol duty as well. So, Faustein closed his eyes and went into his meditative trance-like state during which he closed his eyes and connected his fingertips to form a roughly circular shape with his hands. Alright, so there are a total of 3 of those digimon flying around here. They look like they are on patrol, so it is imperative to take them all out in a single multi-pronged assault...Taser's Mjölnir Impact can render them inert while Lego's Block Rockets can asist in that, and if necessary, Taser can use Lightning Arrow while Lego can use Plastic Blaze to debilitate them further...Apart from thatI have the Analog Jammer device I had bought from a traveling merchant earlier, so I can use that to conceal my presence just enough to hamper their detection, though it probably will not last very long...Then, he opened his eyes and after turning on his Analog Jammer device to scramble his data signature, he knelt down and whispered to Taser and Lego "Taser, your job is to rush the enemy units and draw their attention after which you will use your Mjölnir Impact to incapacitate them as efficiently as possible. Meanwhile, Lego your task is to stay by my side and guard me while also providing long range firing support for Taser. Understood?"They acknowledged the orders and as per the plan, Taser aka Kokuwamon raced forth into the clearing to draw the attention of the FanBeemon "Combat Sub-routine, set...Engaging enemy units now...Combat Subroutine Gamma: Mjölnir Impact!!"At the same time, Lego aka ShadowToyAgumon, fired off a volley of flame shaped missiles from its mouth and moments after, it shot its upper limbs at the FanBeemon as well "Combat Sub-routine, set...Engaging enemy units now...Combat Subroutine Beta: Plastic Blaze!! Subsequent protocol initiated, Combat Subroutine Gamma: Block Rockets!!"
Needless to say, due to the element of surprise they had on their side, both Taser's attack as well as that of Lego hit their marks in this first round of combat. The first two FanBeemon never saw the assault coming...until it was too late that is. Thus, they fell to the ground knocked out cold with burn wounds all over their bodies. However, the third one seemed to be just a bit more experienced and managed to evade the Block Rockets attack from Lego, but in the process of dodging it, it ran straight into the waiting Taser's Mjölnir Impact. Fortunately, the attack hit home and so the third FanBeemon also fell to the ground, unable to use its named moves for the next turn. Prodigious! The battle plan was executed exactly as envisioned, so now it's time to infilitrate that structure...Thinking thus, he turned the Analog Jammer to full activation mode and then stepped out of the cover of the trees, slowly and cautiously and used silent hand signals to guide Taser and Lego towards the structure as well but from the opposite direction to minimize risk of premature detection. Since they had experienced this sort of direction from him in the past several weeks a fair few times, they understood the intent and snuck on board with him. Naturally, the FanBeemon spotted him, but since they could not attack or use any of their special moves, they buzzed loudly and warned the group verbally "Warning!! Warning!! Intruders detected!! Leave this place at once!! Unauthorized personnel are forbidden entry into the Royal Hive!!"
Upon hearing that, Faustein turned to them for a brief moment as he responded with a smug smirk on his thin lips, a steely edge to his usually mellifluous voice, and a ice-cold gaze in his bright crimson eyes "Pathetic little insects, do you not realize you have just given away the identity of your base to the enemy? You are such inefficacious peons, so just lie there helpless as a supply of the legendary honey produced here is stolen from this Royal Hive."With that parting shot, he was gone from sight, making his way into the lair of the Beemon. Unbeknownst to him, he would end up regretting that decision rather soon. As Mandrake drew closer the sound of angry buzzing and digimon attacks indicated that the human had ignored his warning and went into the hive. 'It looks as if this human is determined to get into trouble. Makes me wonder why his partners couldn't convince him not to enter the hive.' Mandrake thought his mind in a flurry as he reached the edge of the trees peering out. What he saw were three Fanbeemon laying on the ground covered in nasty burns. Wincing at the sight he closed his eyes and placed a finger on each of his temples once again trying to reach out to the human with his mind. The strain was greater now that the human infiltrated the hive but Mandrake managed to find the reckless human again. Once again he telepathically called out "Please listen too me. Take your partners and get out of there. There are stronger digimon in the hive than what you have encountered. Who knows what will happen to you three if you continue."

Once again, that same voice was ringing in his mindscape alerting him to the apparent presence of dangerous entities ahead and warning him to turn back. Naturally, once more, Faustein turned around and while scratching his head, he looked about more carefully this time to see if he could spot whoever or whatever was doing that to him
"Has my insanity truly reached its zenith and causing me to experience auditory hallucinations? If not that, then is this my inner conscience?...No, that cannot be...for I do not possess any modicum of conscience whatsoever...How very queer, indeed...this bears further investigation and research at a later date..."
He muttered to himself as he looked about, trying to rationalize the cause of the voice that kept resonating in his mind, but alas, its origins remained a mystery to him at present. Besides, he had more pressing concerns and interests at the moment, so he relegated this matter of the disembodied voice in his head to the back of his mind and proceeded onward, making his way through the so called "Royal Hive". All around him, the walls looked remarkably standardized, as if they had been constructed by some hive mind of entities.
"Honeycombs, honeycombs everywhere...but not a drop of honey to be found...ah, woe is me..."
He muttered more to himself as he moved along, occasionally instructing Taser to scan ahead and ensuring that Lego had its arms orbiting him like satellites so that they could respond quickly to any unforeseen threats that may come their way. For the next several hours, strangely enough, they had encountered nothing and no one at all, causing Faustein to wonder
Are the Beemon denizens of this Royal Hive unaware that there is an intruder in their base?...Or perhaps...they may be performing surveillance remotely without engaging me?...Well, if it's not either of those, then...could it be that they are simply too busy with something or another to deal with me?...
His mental gears whirred rapidly as his mind attempted to produce an answer to the matter of why they had not met with any resistance despite approaching ever nearer to the heart of the structure. Sadly, no such epiphany came upon him, so he continued his journey into the the unknown before him. Soon, he came upon what seemed to be a pool of titanic proportions, well compared to his own human height, anyway. It seemed to be overflowing with what looked to be honey, but he could not be sure without actually going near it. So, that's what he did and once he was within range, that unmistakable aroma invaded his nostrils once more and so he knelt down to examine the substance to confirm his suspicions once and for all.

From his location in foliage, Mandrake watched and waited. Not only was it too quiet but after awhile no sign if a human exiting the hive was seen at all. Was this stranger crazy? His gaze turned back to the injured Fanbeemon before he looked back at the hive itself. 'It's strange those are the only guards I have seen when I got here. Their should have been more guards given the ruckus from earlier. Something doesn't feel right.' Mandrake thought as he remained hidden a while longer before wondering what he should do next. The unknown human didn't seem to listen to his warnings of danger and if it wasn't so hard to reach him mentally from inside the hive he might have tried to reach his partners instead.
Deciding to try to reach the human one more time he tried a different approach. "I'm outside with a full view of the hive and what you've done sheltered by the foliage of the woods. There are so many presences that communicating my warnings are hard to do. Please listen to me and evacuate before its too late." His telepathic message sounded far more urgent than mere warnings now before Mandrake had to break off the connection all together. If the human and his partners didn't exit soon, Mandrake didn't know what he would do.

Alas, now that Faustein and his two partner digimon were so deep in the Royal Hive, this stranger's message did not reach them, not that they knew there was a broadcaster behind the message, of course. Faustein swiped his finger across the small splash of the golden-yellow substance which laid across the rim or edge of the pool and then tasted it
Hmm...that texture and flavor...combined with that aroma...indeed, this is honey, beyond the shadow of a doubt...I have found my prize at last...
The sense of exhiliaration he felt at that moment made him unable to resist the urge, so he let out a deep, rumbling chuckle while savoring the heavenly sensation. However, the part of his mind which was on alert brought him back down to reality, so he hurried to the task at hand. He silently pulled out a fistful of test tubes he had stashed away in his backpack and scooped up some samples of the honey into them before stowing some in the space underneath Taser's carapace and the rest in Lego's chest cavity. Naturally, he ensured that his back was turned away from them towards the room at large so that whoever or whatever may be watching could not see exactly what he was doing at this stage. Then, as an additional precaution, he took out a large specimen jar from his backpack and in plain view of any potential surveillance devices, he sunk the jar into the honey pool and filled it up to the brim. This time, he made sure to turn around and visbily place the jar into his backpack in an attempt at a facade setup.
"Prodigious!!! I have found my goal at last!! Now I shall partake of this ambrosial feast!!! Bon Appetit!!!"
He exclaimed loudly before doffing his lab coat and rolled up the sleeves of his formal shirt before dunking his hand into the honey pool and scooping up a sizeable puddle of honey into them. He then lapped it up quickly and repeated the process once more. However, this was where he ran into trouble, for the second time he delved into the honey pool, it acted quite strangely. That is to say, it actually rose up and swept over him like a deluge, adhering him inextricably to the floor of that room.
"Curses! What in Heisenberg's name is happening to me? I...cannot...free...myself!!"
He swore under his breath while struggling against the inexorably advancing honey restraints, but it was to no avail. The waves of petrifying honey kept flowing over him, slowly but surely, trapping him in a sort of bizarre cocoon like cage finally. This cage had honeycomb designs all over its surface and hardened rather quickly, like fast drying Elmer's Glue from the human world. Eventually, he stopped his resistance towards the rapidly hardening honey-forged cage and closed his eyes while calming his mind and body down in order to prepare himself for his thinking trance.
Well, this is a pretty little problem I seem to have gotten myself into here...now...how to extricate myself from these shackles, I wonder?
He mused silently with his face looking impassive and calm as per usual as he was wholly unaware that a small force was on its way currently to imprison him.

Mandrake cautiously made his way out of the plant growth toward the injured Fanbeemon. Though he lacked healing abilities himself he figured he could at least do something for them. Carefully approaching them he said "It's alright. I mean none of you any harm. I just want to check on your injures." Being cautious was wise with any injured digimon when you considered the large array of powers they could have then combine it with the wounded animal mentality even humans could still fall to and that was a formula for potentially getting injured oneself.
After looking at the burns, it seemed they weren't as bad as they seemed at first glance but still very painful, he turned his blue eyes toward the hive. The human and his partners had not emerged and Mandrake was starting to grow worried. Though tempted to reach out again telepathically it would be too much of a strain since there were too many minds to sift through. So he debated asking permission to enter the hive but had to wait for someone to come for the injured Fanbeemon to ask.

Meanwhile, Faustein was instructing Taser and Lego to help free him from the honey cocoon and they began work on the assigned task. Unfortunately for them, the noises they were making while attempting to free him were so loud that before long, a squadron of FanBeemon led by some other much larger digimon came to accost them. The large digimon in front declared authoritatively after making shrill, ear-piercingly loud buzzing noises
"HALT, INTRUDERS!!! I, WASPMON, SHALL ARREST YOU FOR THE HEINOUS CRIME YOU HAVE DARED TO COMMIT HERE!!"
Then, it unleashed those same buzzing noises again, and this time it was joined by a chorus of angry buzzing noises made by the FanBeemon as well. The din was so unbearable that it gave Faustein a major migraine, causing him to ask
"Could the lot of you cease and desist with all that buzzing? It really is rather cacophonous, you know, and it's giving me a veritable migraine."
He remarked thus, morphing his normally rich baritone, but melodious voice into a drawl, making him sound almost bored with the current events. Naturally, this only served to incense his would be captors further with the result that they swiftly proceeded to bring him and his two digimon, taser and Lego, into custody. Ordinarily, he would have resisted, but the capabilities of the FanBeemon as well as of the unidentified larger digimon which was clearly their leader were an unknown variable at present time. Therefore, he surmised that it would be best to surrender quietly to minimize risk of harm.
I wonder, what are these insects planning to do with me and my digimon?
He mused silently as he was carted off by the FanBeemon and their leader and during this process, he managed to somehow give silent instructions to both Taser and Lego to not hand over the test tubes filled with honey which he had stashed away in their body compartments since he knew that there was a high likelihood that they would all be searched soon. Luckily, he had prepared for this eventuality by stowing a decoy, namely the large specimen jar full of honey in his backpack.

A sudden but brief loud buzzing sounding within the hive made Mandrake glance at the hive with worry present in his blue eyes. It seemed that the human and his partners had run into trouble, yet, how bad it was wasn't known to Mandrake at the time. That and it was strange that there was no other guards than the injured Fanbeemon. The guards were buzzing quietly and angrily making him wisely hesitant to move closer to them. It was a shame he had no healing abilities and had no healing herbs with him either or he would have tried to heal the guards by now.
Now it was uncomfortably silent around him causing a creeping sense of dread to come over Mandrake. While territorial, bee digimon only tended to attack to drive off other digimon and, on occasion, humans. Now that a human had broken into the hive, who knew what the bee digimon would do.

Just then, a loud buzzing noise could be hear, and it seemed to be growing louder and louder...as though a sizeable swarm of FanBeemon were approaching quickly. Several moments later, sure enough, a large swarm of FanBeemon had exited the "Royal Hive" and while continuing to make angry buzzing noises hurtled toward their injured comrades on the ground outside the hive. Once there, they noticed another intruding presence, what looked like an Impmon near their fallen fellow FanBeemon. So, they surrounded the Impmon and the leader, a Waspmon declared
"HALT, INTRUDER!! TRESPASSING INTO THE TERRITORY OF THE ROYAL HIVE IS FORBIDDEN TO UNAUTHROIZED PERSONNEL!! IN THE NAME OF THE QUEEN, YOU ARE HEREBY UNDER ARREST FOR YOUR CRIMES!!"
While this was happening outside, inside the hive, a very different situation was unfolding as now the Waspmon and its FanBeemon subordinates which were carrying Faustein and his two digimon had now produced them before their superior, a TigerVespamon. This TigerVespamon summarily declared Faustein's punishment, which was of course, to be imprisoned in the dungeon of the "Royal Hive". So, its subordinates, the Waspmon and the Waspmon's subordinates, the FanBeemon carried Faustein and his digimon to the dungeon as ordered, after confiscating the large jar of honey from his backpack and setting the bag aside. However, since he had hidden his Digivice deep inside his clothing, they did not find it. Needless to say, they did not find the small test tubes of honey he had hidden inside his two digimon, Taser and Lego. Upon reaching the dungeon, they threw them all inside rather unceremoniously and bolted the thick metal gate shut and wordlessly left them to their own devices. Thanks to their manhandling though, the cocoon of honey which had hardened by now around Faustein shattered to pieces and then melted away to nothing.
