Of all places Alucard didn't expect to find a village was the area of the Digital World known as the Digital Core. Heck he could still see hints of Terminus in the distance. He had found this quaint little village when he was following a river that seemed to flow faster the longer he followed it. When he reached the village he spotted a waterfall at the edge of the village not far from a small farm. The waterfall seemed to be feeding not only the river but the land around the village seeing how fertile the land seemed to be.
As Alucard stepped foot in the village the villagers seemed curious of him but very friendly. Alucard played with the village children when it seemed obvious he was no the village itself. He felt relaxed for the first time in awhile as he ran and played with the children with their parents watching not far. After the children were guided home to bed by their parents the mayor of the village, a scarred Apemon, approached him. Despite being riddled with obvious battle scars, the Apemon was warm and friendly. "It has been a long time since we've had a visitor. Or at least one that has meant us no harm." Apemon said warmly though his eyes seemed fraught with worry.
"What do you mean it's been a long time since you've had a friendly visitor?" Alucard asked in his cold tone but his eyes easily reflected his concern. Despite what some might of thought, he did have emotions. The tone of voice he used around most had just become a habit of his.
It seemed that the Apemon wasn't off put by Alucard's cold tone and said "An Ogremon with an unsavory reputation has been causing us great trouble every night for the past few weeks. At first he just tore up the fields. Then he started destroying whole houses while bellowing about a digimental."
"A digimental?" Alucard asked his eyes wide in shock. He had heard of such things but at this point had yet to see them.
"Yes, he was looking for a digimental that has been located near this village for generations. We tell tales of the last bearer which was a Tsukaimon. After she gained the power she referred to herself as the Light in the Sky. Though she didn't stay in the village, when she met her end, her digimental returned to the village to wait for the next bearer. The next Light in the Sky, if you will." Apemon explained.
"Why would Ogremon want anything to do with the digimental? What level is it anyway?"
"The digimental is a champion stage armor form. As for why the Ogremon wants it, maybe he thinks he is destined to wield it without understanding it's nature. The Light in the Sky has always been a protector of the innocent after many generations no matter what attribute the bearer was." Apemon said before he continued "It is said the digimental only reveals itself when it is needed."
Alucard sat quietly taking all the information in. An Ogremon was seeking the power of the digimental that was referred to as The Light in the Sky, though the Ogremon didn't know that his destructive rampages were likely futile. Though Ogremon was a champion level digimon it didn't mean he couldn't use a champion level digimental. It just meant that unless Ogremon was stopped the attacks weren't likely to stop.
Before Alucard could respond to everything that Apemon said an explosion was heard in the direction of the waterfall. Both Alucard and the Apemon turned in the direction of the explosion and saw an Ogremon attacking the rocky formation that made up the waterfall. The green oni was utilizing energy attacks launched from his fists and his intentions were clear. "The fiendish monster is intending to flood this village!" Alucard exclaimed as he started running toward the waterfall. "Mr. Mayor evacuate this village as fast as you can. If I can't stop Ogremon then at least the villagers may be spared!" He yelled not slowing down as he pumped his little legs as fast as he could go.
After a third explosion sounded Alucard was forced to wrack his brain for ideas to increase his speed as he looked at the ground as he ran. 'Of Course! Why didn't I think of this before?' Alucard thought as it seemed a lightbulb lit up inside his brain but would his crazy improvised solution work to get him there in time? "Blazing Ice!" Alucard shouted as he aimed his attack at the ground in front of his feet. The ground began to freeze and continued to do so as he used the frozen ground to skate, err go increasing his land speed. He hoped he would get there soon because he couldn't keep up his attack forever, one needed to breathe after all.
Thankfully by the time he had to stop his attack to breathe he only had a short distance to run making him glad the waterfall wasn't to far away from the village. Quickly catching his breathe he was about to start running again when a fourth explosion seemed to be the proverbial final nail in the coffin as water burst forth heading for the village. Alucard leapt using his ears to glide out of the way barely in time as gallons upon gallons of water rushed by. There was nothing he could do since even his Blazing Ice couldn't stop that deluge or even remotely slow it down.
Things seemed to only get worse as the cry of a youngster, one that had obviously snuck out to explore in the middle of the night, had gotten caught in the raging water. The little Motimon thrashed desperately but even if Alucard used his Blazing Ice, he wouldn't catch up to the child in time to save it. Alucard felt lost on what to do until a flash of light coming from the waterfall caught the white Lopmon's attention. Turning his head he spotted the light coming toward him before coming to a stop in front of him and taking the form of a mostly gold digimental with curious wing like ears on top. Could this be the digimental that Apemon spoke of? Time seemed to stand still as Alucard reached out with his ears taking hold of it and drawing it to him. The digimental hummed with power as if telling him he was the one it was meant for.
Deciding since he was able to move it, Alucard threw all caution to the wind and said "Digi Armor Energize!" The digimental became alive with more power as if full awakened and it and Alucard began glowing in unison. "Lopmon armor digivolve to Pegasusmon The Light in the Sky!"
Alucard looked at himself and saw he had become an orange Pegasus with golden armor. Swiftly turning his attention to the distressed child he flapped his wings and took flight soon catching up to the Motimon. Hovering next to Motimon he waved his tail at the child and said "Quick grab hold of my tail and hold on tight!" The Motimon grabbed hold and clung to him in a death grip as they flew to the village.
Apemon spotted them and looked in awe before he said "The Light in the Sky has found a new bearer!"
"I hate to be blunt but there's no time for that now." Alucard said as he flicked the youngster gently into Apemon's arms. "Take the young one and get everyone else out of here while I try to save your village." Nodding the Apemon took off with the Motimon in his arms as Alucard flew back toward the oncoming water which seemingly hadn't hit the town. It was as if some miracle that the raging water slowed a little bit but Alucard had learned to take what miracles he could get.
The triangle on his forehead glowed green as a large green triangle appeared in front of him. "Equus Beam!" he yelled as a powerful beam shot forth hitting the ground and creating a deep hole. Keeping up with firing the beam, Alucard flew creating a trench that the flood water started to fill. Knowing that wouldn't work for long he flew out to the waterfall with his wings turning the color of a night sky complete with stars.
"Star Shower!" he said as stars flew forth shooting toward the waterfall like shooting stars. His goal was to repair the damage caused by Ogremon by skillfully collapsing various rocks to fill the holes and hopefully restoring the flow of the river to normal. As the rocks fell in place, Alucard waited with baited breathe hoping his plan worked.
Fortunately it did, as little by little the river's flow slowly returned to normal and was no longer in danger of flooding the town. Letting out a relieved breath, Alucard flew back to the village and, upon landing, returned to his rookie form of Lopmon.
The relieved villagers shortly returned to their village. As for Ogremon, he fled into the night after witnessing Alucard's transformation. Apemon assured Alucard that they would keep an eye out for Ogremon in case he returned and, after spending the night, the vampire slayer left the village for points unknown.
