Personality
When she was younger, Xenica was like a bustling bee. She always had a lot of energy and would frequently involve herself in as many activities as she could. One could say she was a bit too hyperactive, which led to her often becoming an annoyance to many of her peers. She didn't really understand concepts like personal space too well and wasn't too empathic of other's feelings, becoming confused when her friends would get tired of her or want to spend time alone and away from her. If something bad happened, she would brush it off as nothing, and would be considerably annoyed and worried at others when they could not do the same.
During her high school years, this energetic personality developed into something different. Her playful pranks and teasing became more along the lines of outright bullying, as she took to tormenting and taunting other kids to get what she wanted. She believed that she should get what she wanted with very little effort after seeing how easy it was to do so, a moral standard that she holds to this day, and something that has shaped the core of who she is and who she has become. She cared very little about consequences, believing there was always a way out, or that simply nothing bad would ever happen to her.
Xenica never once realized that the reason why her friends were often temporary was nobody's fault but her own. Her lack of empathy, or even lack to try to care about what other people were feeling, drove even other bullies away from her. It didn't help that she was and is still two-faced, spreading gossip and talking down about people who she considers friends behind their backs. Very few people could stand her for a long period of time, another fact that still holds true to this day.
She has a few interests and hobbies, though she is not really into the idea of talking about these too much anymore. Xenica is interested in photography, but never learned the professional skills required to be good at it. She is also interested in wildlife, insects in particular, having collected them into her late teens. She is known to get visibly upset and sometimes even violently angry if somebody kills an insect in front of her for no good reason, showing that she might value the feelings and lives of bugs more than human beings.
Xenica is now a bit of a shell of her old self. She has lost all hope in the human world and completely abandoned it, deciding to live out the rest of her days in the Digital World. She also seems to care very little about her own well-being, putting herself into dangerous situations without caring too much about the consequences. This leads her to make a lot of reckless decisions, all fueled by a disconnected rage for a reason she can't understand.
She does not know what she is doing anymore. She has no concrete goal and refuses to work with others, instead just doing what she wants, which usually entails deleting other Digimon and gaining more power. For what reason she needs this power, she doesn't know. She does not seem to view Digimon as living beings anymore, carelessly deleting them when she comes across them, and treating her own partner like a living weapon.
Xenica has become especially spiteful towards her former friends, Mao and Akari, as well as Hakainushi, a group that promised her a bright future only to abandon her at her first failure.
Appearance
Xenica is considered underdeveloped for her age, only standing an inch over five foot tall, and being incredibly scrawny. Her body is thin, and she has almost no body fat, causing the few muscles she has to prominently show and make her appear stronger than she actually is. Her facial features are very in contrast to all of this, the girl having a wide mouth and expressive, cyan eyes.
Xen is known to dye her hair a lot - and it has been nearly every color of the rainbow. However, it is naturally black, and she has taken to maintaining this color for the past few months, hoping to give off a more mature appearance. Her hair flows down to below her waist, almost reaching the back of her knees, and despite this, she still does not usually bother in putting it up, instead usually opting for a hat of some sort to keep it a little under control. Currently, Xenica has dyed her hair a bright and vibrant pink.
Her skin is covered in various small tattoos, but she more than often covers them up with long sleeves and legwear. Many of these tattoos have no meaning other than looking cool, and some notable ones include the various cloud patterns on her right arm - from her elbow to her shoulder, and a large cicada pattern in the middle of her back. These were obtained illegally from friends, and aren't exactly the finest pieces of art.
Xenica wears a large variety of clothes, but mostly focuses on Japanese street wear, making her look like a street urchin, or delinquent. This of course, is entirely intentional, as she wishes to look as intimidating as possible.
Personal History
Xenica was born in the suburbs of Kumagaya, an area where she would spend most of her childhood. Her parents were young and carefree, her mother only being nineteen at the time of her birth, and her father only twenty. Neither had much, but her father completed university shortly after her first birthday, allowing him to land a higher end job downtown at an accounting firm. From this point on, Xenica got anything that she asked for. Her father would spoil her rotten and smother her in material gifts. Her mother, meanwhile, grew depressed after the loss of her mother and father, and rarely spoke anymore. Through her father's inexperience and her mother's depression, Xenica never received much affection, and never learned the basic values that other children her age were taught. She did not know empathy, at least she was not very good at it. When other children displayed vivid emotional reactions to things, such as crying when they got hurt, she only knew how to taunt them further, feeling alien and distant to their strong emotional bonds to things and people.
Despite this, Xenica wasn't trying to purposely be a bad kid. She would give other kids things that she owned, as she held little attachment to the many gifts her father gave her, and would try to show affection through that way. She had a ton of energy, and would never know when to stop talking or when she was getting annoying. Her attitude in fact radiated positivity; she believed she could do anything, and believed that she would go on to do great things. The subject of these great things changed often, sometimes she wanted to be an astronaut, other times a photographer, and sometimes even a scientist or engineer. Whatever she wanted to be, she was obsessed with it. Until she wasn't, when she would then drop the subject entirely as if it never happened.
During her fifth year in school, Xenica met two girls that she considered to be her best friends: Mao and Akari. These two girls shared a similar mindset to her, and even more importantly, they were patient enough with her to not get annoyed by her antics. The trio formed a posse, with Xenica often being the voice and face of the group, seeing herself as a leader. Neither of her friends minded, at least, they never bothered to make a fuss about it. The three formed many memories together, playing around Kumagaya in the forests and parks, often making up imaginary scenarios that they would role-play out; beating each other with sticks and slingshots while going on grand adventures in their daydreams.
As Xenica grew older alongside her friends, she became somewhat of a bully. She learned that it was very easy to just take what she wanted from other children, that she perceived weaker due to their smaller physiques or timid personalities. The trio of friends soon became a gang of delinquents, often causing trouble in and out of school. Mr. Sanagi only grew busier, and Mrs. Sanagi was still in a near catatonic state, not caring too much about what her daughter was out doing. As high school came, these tendencies only worsened, with Xenica often getting suspended from school due to various incidents. She would always take the fall for her friends, as she knew that they cared more about their education than she ever did.
Since she was often suspended, Xenica began to spend more time around the darker parts of Kumagaya on her time off. She obtained some tattoos illegally, much to the shock of her friends, for no reason other than they looked cool. She also began dying her hair more and wearing rougher-looking clothes. On one occasion, she nearly beat a student three years younger than her to death, only for the reason of Xenican believing she had been insulted. She only got out of this situation due to the influence Akari's parents had over the legal system, and she wouldn't be able to get away with something like that again. Regardless, her self-destructive behavior only worsened. She didn't understand the consequences of her actions.
At age fifteen, late into her ninth year of school, Xenica would find herself entering the Digital World with her only two friends. It was a clean slate. She would be able to do whatever she wanted, she would be able to make the future she wanted, she could do everything and anything.
During her adventures in the Digital World, Xenica found that she was something called a "Spirit User," obtaining a D-Tector Digivice that would help her collect something called "spirits" and allow her to physically change her form into something more powerful. This seemed like a good deal, and she was very quick to collect all the spirits she needed to transform all the way to the Mega level. It was almost too easy, as she collected all of these spirits in a single day, entering an ancient temple where all of them resided, collected in one location.
It wasn't long after this adventure that Xenica and her friends met with a mysterious figure, partnered with an angelic Digimon, who claimed to be the founder of an organization called Hakainushi. It was explained to the three that this organization once brought great terror over the Digital World, but it had long since disbanded. They were promised power beyond their imagination if they helped the man restore the old organization by conducting a series of attacks on key locations in the Digital World while retrieving ancient relics that would somehow bring about the end of days. At least, that's what the man said.
As Xenica would soon find out, he wasn't a reliable source of information.
On one of her first missions for the organization everything went wrong. Mao and Akari were intercepted by another force, becoming too busy and distracted to make it to the location of the mission the three of them were ordered to go on. Xenica was unaware of this, as they were unable to update her in time, causing her to attempt the mission alone. It was simple, all she needed to do was retrieve an artifact from an old ruin in the Eastern Timberlands. What she didn't expect was to encounter a Digimon even more powerful than a Mega, one that was a level above that. It was the guardian of the ruins, and it quickly made short work out of the Spirit User's TyrantKabuterimon form.
Everything was over, so quickly, just like that.
The last thing Xenica remembered was calling out for her friends. They weren't there. The mysterious man showed his face, revealing he had been there the entire time, doing nothing at all to help her. He squatted down next to her broken body with a look of disappointment, saying nothing besides a singular word to her before leaving, never to contact her again. She closed her eyes, hoping to just pass away, that word ringing through her head as for one of the first times, she began to cry.
"Failure."
She eventually passed out, waking up in another location within the forest, the angelic Digimon from before sitting next to her. The creature had bandaged her up and took her to safety, for some reason. This was the only being that did not abandon her, the only one that didn't leave her alone. The Digimon, at the time a D'arcmon, introduced herself as Lucida. She explained that she too, had been abandoned, the mysterious man having left her behind without telling her where he was going. The angel suggested that they shouldn't be sad about this, as it would just make them weak. Instead, they should lash out, they should be angry.
And so that's what they did. They traveled the Digital World, fighting whoever they could, deleting Digimon and absorbing their power. Xenica eventually lost touch with her Spirit Element, rendering her unable to use her D-Tector to access her former power anymore. She broke the device on a rock, shattering it and rendering the useless piece of technology even more useless, leaving its remains where she broke it. From that point on, she relied entirely on Lucida, using her borrowed power to carve an empty path of rage through the Digital World. The angel would fill her head with ideas and negativity, projecting her own feelings onto the young human.
At one point, she decided to return home, return to the real world, just to see what it was like. Maybe Mao and Akari went back there, and they would have some serious explaining to do if they did. She would bash their heads open! At least, in the most caring way possible. Instead, she found nothing. She didn't find her friends, and when she returned home, she found that her parents had improved their lives without her. No longer were they burdened by her existence. There wasn't even a search for her, nobody reported her missing. Nobody cared. This filled the teenager, now sixteen, with even more rage.
From this point on, she decided she would never return to the real world. She would live out the rest of her days in the Digital World.
In the following year, Xenica was granted another Digivice, though this one was different from before. It came with an attachment, a small Motimon that had recently just hatched. She named this new partner Buzzsaw, and fed him data over the course of several months to power him up, soon again reaching the power of a Mega level Digimon. She treated this partner more as a weapon than a living thing, and seems to no longer care that Digimon are living things at large. Things had changed for Xenica. Another year passed, and she is now seventeen years old.
All of the energy from her youth, all of the positivity, all of it is gone now. She is a shell of her former self on a mission without a goal. She does not know what she is doing or what her objective is. She only travels the Digital World, seeking out new opponents to fight and delete, increasing her own strength. She has learned the consequences of her actions, but she no longer cares about them.
