Bezil made a pained yelp of horror as he saw what happened to Vee and Gummy. The furred Gumdramon started to pant in panic as he realized their options had suddenly run out. The danger was so horrific that he was almost paralyzed in what to do next. Thankfully his actual paralysis had worn off so that he could move again, but... what use was it now?
Bezil thought the first thing he should do was act to protect his boyfriend Gummy, but, what use was that when there was nothing he could do in that regard? And Vee was in just as bad condition. And above all, there was still Justice to protect. Justice said that they should get out of here, but... how could they do so? Bezil could barely hold on to his Champion form after being struck by Doumon's lightning.
"What can I do...?" Bezil thought to himself. "If only dad were here..."
But Owen was not here. This was a problem he'd have to face without him. Then he began to realize just how foolish it was to head into this situation so recklessly without backup. Had Bixby misled them? No... surely the Gomamon had told them this with trust that Bezil would do something smart like have Colin and his partners aboard Daedalus on call, but he did not. Instead he had been so eager to solve a problem by himself and with his friends that he didn't do that.
And now they were at the mercy of two horrible, evil Perfect levels, now closing in on their prey. Doumon and Taomon approached them, both with horrible fox-like sneers on their foxish faces.
When Bezil realized that he could stand while Vee and Gummy could not, he did so, spreading his arms and wings out in front of Justice and his partners.
"Y-you get back!" he snarled, his tail glowing light blue with energy before he swung it at them. "Frosty Lasher!"
A wave of ice was sent over the two Ultimate levels, momentarily covering them with ice. Bezil gave a cry of dismay as the ice instantly shattered as they quickly broke free.
"My, such a defiant little beast you are." Taomon said, closing in. "Yet you seem smart. I trust by now you realize how hopeless your situation is?"
"Don't... please... don't hurt them..." Bezil pleaded.
"But they were aiming to kill us just now I believe." Doumon answered, his voice just as sneeringly patronizing as Taomon's. "Let me deal with them, sister."
"By all means, brother." Taomon replied. As Doumon approached Justice, Vee and Gummy, Taomon grabbed Bezil by the ears, making him cry in pain. "My my, such a gallant and brave little hero you are..." she said, Bezil struggled, but he was so hurt that he had no chance to break free. "Why fight so hard? Your fate is sealed regardless of what you do."
A momentary rage filled Bezil so much that he managed to spit back in response. "Because if you're gonna kill me, I'll die standing you vile bitch!" he snapped. Taomon's grin widened.
"Well... we shall see..." she said, and then pressed her clawed finger to Bezil's forehead. At once, it burst with pain, so much that he lost sight of what was in front of him. But he could still hear her words. "Let's see just how brave you really are, it really wouldn't be sporting to end your life this quickly, I think..."
Then at once, Bezil began to tremble as many terrible thoughts began to close in on him.
Doumon meanwhile approached Justice, Vee and Gummy. Knowing the digimon were little threats now, he instead locked gazes with Justice, licking his chops at the thought of finally dealing with a human. After all they had done to the digital world, here was one, entirely at his mercy. Of which he had none.
"I believe we've reached the end of your life, human." he said, menacingly. "But before we cut to the end, I think we should review the highlights before we switch those lights off, shall we?"
And Doumon drew another talisman in the air with his brush, casting similar spheres of illusion around Justice, Vee and Gummy, seemingly intent of making them relive the very worst of their memories before finally finishing them off.
Bezil attempts to immobilize Taomon and Doumon with Frosty Lasher. It fails, as they are higher levels.
Taomon begins to invade Bezil's mind.
Doumon begins to make Justice, Vee and Gummy relive their worst memories.

Justice kept his head lowered, unable to lift his eyes as the towering Ultimates began to make their approach, ready to dispose of them. For the first time ever, he was fearful of his life: his heart was beating wildly, so wildly that he was certain he would burst in his rib cage. His body began to visibly shake, so much so that he couldn’t stand up. His breathing became short and rapid.
He knew what he signed up for when he became a Tamer, that his life would be put in danger. But with Vee and Gummy at his side, he thought that he didn’t have to worry. He thought that they’ll be able to triumph over any challenge that came their way no matter how big the risks were. And with Bezil with them, he thought that victory was assured.
Now look what their overconfidence got them. At the whim of these two evil Ultimates, sneering wickedly like predators unable to contain their excitement as they circled their prey.
Justice lifted his head, seeing Bezil standing in front of them in a protective stance. He watched as the furred Gumdramon desperately sent an ice wave towards the two, only for them to break out as soon as they were encased.
“Bezil…” Gummy muttered. He wanted to help his boyfriend so bad, but all he could do was watch as the hopelessness was setting in.
Instead of finishing them off swiftly, Taomon and Doumon decided to take their time to bask in their victory, with Taomon dealing with Bezil and Doumon with the three. Justice watched in horror as as the former grabbed Bezil by the ears,
“Let him go,” he yelled, summoning his hardlight baton from his D-Watch, ready to help Bezil.
“Justice...don’t...” Vee pleaded. He has to get up. He needed to. He couldn’t bear to witness the thought of his Tamer getting killed.
Before Justice could act, Doumon approached him, his figure towering over him. The fear of death retook its hold on the young man, his body visibly shaking as he got in front of Vee and Gummy. Dammit! This was really it.
“What do you mean?” Justice growled.
Doumon then drew another symbol in the air, casting a sphere around the three. At once, the three felt a throbbing pain in their heads. Justice ran his fingers through his hair, scratching at his scalp with his fingertips. He dropped to his knees, bending over, his head hanging.
The three felt everything around them being blocked off. Bezil’s screaming, Taomon’s taunting, Doumon’s crackling. Justice, Vee, and Gummy ceased to hear it all.
There was only the deafening silence.
Vee opened his eyes, still unable to move from the injuries he’d sustained. He scanned the area around him more closely, and was suddenly very aware he was not where he seemelsy was moments ago. He was not in Folder Desert anymore; he was in the Spartan Training Grounds in the Eastern Timberlands.
Immediately, a fiery cartwheel crashed into the bark of a large tree, outside of the arena. His glossy eyes lit up, wondering what it was. Was it Doumon attacking them, or Taomon? As the dust began to settle, he saw a small purple figure struggling to move. The Veemon’s eyes widened in shock as to who he was seeing: it was Gummy.
“Gummy?! What’s going on?” Vee thought to himself. “Why am I at the Spartan Training Grounds? If Gummy’s here, then where’s Justice and Bezil?”
Before he could question himself more, a rain of gunfire began to spray Gummy, making the Gumdramon scream in pain as the bullets ripped and tore his red vest to shreds. And the one responsible for the gunfire was Commandramon, one of Tadayoshi’s Digimon.
He remembered now. This was when he and Gummy fought against him in a sparring match, where it took a sadistic turn for the worst.
Commandramon aimed his rifle and resumed his assault on Gummy, riddling him with bullet after bullet.
“S-Stop it!” Vee exclaimed, his voice wavering. He tried to get back up, but his limbs had no strength in them. All he could do was watch in horror as his brother screamed in agony. “STOP IT!!!”
With Gummy, he found himself in the middle of the woods near the Village of Beginnings. Everything seemed so big to him, the trees, the grass, even the flowers. only because he was in his In-Training form, Tsunomon.
“Oh no...why am I in this form?” Gummy thought to himself. He disliked being in this form mainly because everyone around him would view him as weak and defenseless. It’s why he never revealed this lower form to Justice, it’s why he never revealed this form to even Bezil, in fear of being looked down on.
What was going on? Why was he here?
“Neko Kick!” Gummy suddenly felt a strong force kicking his body, pushing him back a couple of feet. He looked up quickly and met what was behind him. A Black Tailmon, about two feet in height sporting pitch-black fur. Gummy instantly remembered them: they were his bully from way back then.
“Yo, shorty." The Digimon said, sporting a devious grin. She extended his left paw to him. “You know the drill, give me your lunch bits, unless you want this kitty to bite.”
Gummy’s face contorted into a fearful expression. He realized that Doumon was making them relive their most painful memories, and his most painful memory was constantly getting picked on by Black Tailmon. She always beat and belittled him every chance she got, especially when Vee was nowhere around.
“Do I have to repeat myself to you, small-ass? I said: Give. Me. Your. Lunch Bits.” Gummy didn’t respond, still paralyzed by the fear. “Fine. But don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
The black cat proceeded to pounce on Gummy, pinning his small body to the ground. He tried to worm his way out. Black Tailmon then retaliated by picking him up and punching him to a nearby tree. Desperate, Gummy fired Acid Bubbles from his mouth, only for the cat to causally pop them with a claw, shocking the Tsunomon.
The Digimon laughed. “Man, you are so pathetic. Why fight? You know a lowly In-Training like yourself doesn’t stand a chance against me. Forgot the lunch bits, I'm gonna put you in your place.”
Black Gatomon began her approach with a sneering expression. Gummy started to back up in fear, only to bump into the tree that was behind him. This can’t be real. No way he was reliving this moment again. He was stronger now, stronger than her. But for some reason he just couldn’t stop the tears that were coming down from his eyes.
“Stay away from me! Stay away!”
Police cars arrived with lights flashing, red and blue rhythmically shining in the dark dining room area. A young Justice was being carried by his older sister as the two of them alongside his brother watched as their parents argued with each other, their voices becoming louder and louder as two police officers attempted to break them up, trying to deescalate the situation.
At first, it didn’t click with what was going on. He knew that mommy and daddy would often get into arguments, but not arguments to this level. This was something else. Something bad.
Then it began to click: This was the last night his family was together. This was the last night he ever saw his dad.
Realizing the situation, Justice broke free from his sister’s care, opening the front door, only for his brother and sister to hold him back, wanting him to stay inside. He could only watch with tears in his eyes as his dad went off into his car, driving off into the dimly lit street, never to be seen again.
Soon enough, after the police left, his mother came into the house, hugging both of his siblings for comfort. Justice went in to hug his mother, Rio as well, only to freeze as she shot a malicious stare into his eyes, paralyzing him. She went into her room, closing the door.
The five-year-old Justice then aged back into his present day look. His heart immediately became heavy, reliving that night again, the night when his family partially fractured. The night his once caring mother began to see him differently. But it wasn’t over yet.
Another memory would play, this time when he was in middle school. He had just come home from school one day, exhausted. He greeted his sister and brother and then departed into his room, wanting to take a nap before homework and dinner. Opening his door, his eyes widened in shock as he saw his sketchbooks on the floor, all torn open and void of the dozens of drawings he’d done.
Shocked and lost for words, he stormed into the living room, confronting his siblings.
“Which one of you went into my stuff and trashed my drawings?!” He yelled. Both his brother and sister denied any wrongdoing, saying that they just got home as well and never went into his stuff, nor his room. “Then who did it then?!”
“I did it, hijo.”
Justice turned quickly to see whose voice was that. It was their mother’s, who was doing bills at the kitchen table.
“But why? What did I do to deserve this?!” Justice approached her, his voice cracking with adrenaline. "You know that I like to draw, so why did you crumble up stuff that I’ve spent hours and hours working on?!”
Rio then took out a piece of paper and set it on the table. Justice grabbed it and began reading. It was his report card. All of his grades were good, so to him, this didn’t answer anything.
“And? What does my report card have to do with anything?”
“Look closely at your grade in math.” Rio responded, taking off her reading glasses.
Justice took another look. His grade in math was sitting at a 79%; a C+. He looked at her and his letter grade, a mixture of anguish and shock painted all over his face. “This?” He muttered. “This is the reason why? I-I mean, you didn’t bother to take away my TV, my games, heck even my phone. But my sketchbooks? You decided to target that, all because of a freaking C?! ”
“In our family, that’s unacceptable.” Rio stated.
“It’s the beginning of the semester though. I can bring it back up!” Justice yelled.
“That's the point. It's only the beginning of the semester. What will happen at the end of the semester, hmm? Grades are very hard to raise back up. Fix it tomorrow! Talk to your teacher. You should be ashamed of this grade. I know I would never have been this way when I was a student in school - too shameful. How are you going to be a meteorologist with all C’s when you get to college, hmm?
Justice gritted his teeth, clutching his fist. “I don’t want to become a meteorologist. That’s your dream for me. I want to be an artist. When is that gonna get past your thick skull, you psycho bitch!”
Rio immediately stood up in her chair. Without a moment of thought, she raised her hand and smack Justice across the face, knocking him off balance and falling on the floor. His siblings came to his aid, checking to see if he was alright. His brother stood up for him, questioning why she did that, only for her to smack him as well, but unlike Justice, remained standing.
A hot crimson rage filled Justice’s heart as he laid on the kitchen floor, tears streaming down his face.
“Now you listen to me Cabrón... I have worked too hard to make sure we have a roof over our heads, working two jobs back-back and making sure you all are well-fed. I have sacrificed too much for you all to receive that kind of language. You are going to keep getting outstanding grades until you graduate high school. And you’ll do the same when you get into college. You ARE going to become a weather man because that’s what I want you to be instead of a artista hambriento en la calle! Do you understand me?"
Justice turned away, not responding and looking at his destroyed sketchbook, the tears only coming down harder. The two memories began to overtake Justice's mind as he collapsed onto the coarse sand. Tears no longer threatened to come down his eyes; they flowed freely as his screams and cries became louder and louder. Vee and Gummy followed suit.
There was no grief, only despair.

It was dark and cold, Bezil couldn't see anything. He could barely move, and his breathing became difficult. It was almost like he was back in the peat bog in the bayou, his heavy tail dragging him down into its depths.
The Gumdramon was terrified, what was Taomon doing? He had felt her sharp claw against his forehead, but then, nothing but darkness. Had she killed and loaded him? No... somehow that didn't feel right.
Gradually, shapes began to move in the darkness. Faded at first, then sharper and brighter. Places he had been, faces he had met. The Village of Beginnings, Rosewood, Whitewater, Ys. Exploring a forgotten lab at Elysium. Then the faces of his family, his brothers, sisters and fathers. Members of KIZNA, friends from other places. Then the one he loved, Gummy, standing there with that cocky, cute grin of his.
"Do you truly love him?"
The voice came out of nowhere, and its effect made Bezil stagger a little. The sight of Gummy had reassured him in the darkness, but now, he was starting to feel different. Icy feelings of doubt were filling him inside. Did Bezil truly love Gummy?
He had feelings for him, sure, but... was it love? Sure they had moved a bit rapidly that day in Whitewater, but... it's not like it wasn't a mutual feeling. Sure, Bezil felt a bit of pity for him when he saw just how lonely and angry Gummy was, but...
"You saw that he was vulnerable and thus you took advantage of him, didn't you?"
"No... it wasn't like that!" Bezil shouted, furious that this voice seemed to know what he was thinking. It was targeting his doubts and insecurities and magnifying them to a terrible degree. "It's... it's natural. We were learning about each other..."
"You were learning how to manipulate him, and my, you're good at it. Yet you're scared to risk letting it end, because you couldn't bear the guilt and shame of breaking his heart..."
That was true, one of the things Bezil feared the most was seeing Gummy heartbroken and shattered, if... if what they had wasn't truly love.
"My, and you thought I was evil." the voice said silkily. "But you, Bezil, are a lying, manipulative monster. How long do you intend to continue to torment Gummy with your false love? Can you imagine what he'll say when he finds out the truth? Are you biding your time so that it hurts him the most?"
"S-stop it..." Bezil whimpered, tears running down his face as guilt filled him. The doubt was consuming him, he held his knees to his chest as he fell further into despair. Still the voice went on.
"Why would you do such a thing, Bezil? Is it because in the end, you're just a copy of your father?"
The torment went on. Now Bezil could picture Owen, looking down at him with an unreadable expression. Was it disappointment?
"You followed him like a pup for years, always looking up to him, always wanting to be him... is that why you brought Gummy into your delusions? You wanted to copy your father's family and he happened to be there? My, what would he think of you?"
Bezil felt as though he was suffocating. He couldn't breathe. Not only had this entity brought into question his love for Gummy, but his father's love too.
"That's it, Bezil. Just let it take you away, let you atone for your guilt once and for all..."
"I think that's enough of that, you." Owen's deeper voice suddenly cut into the whispers of the darkness. It startled Bezil, making him gasp. The image of Owen walked toward him, the yellow eyes that matched his own bright in the shadows.
"Dad... is that you?" he asked, feeling hope return. "Are you here?"
Owen smiled at him, kneeling down and gently stroked his cheek. "I'm always here, mate. You're my son and I love you."
Whatever was happening now, it seemed it was strong enough to push back the despair a little. Owen was not physically here, but he was there in spirit it seemed.
"Dad... I'm scared that the love I have for Gummy... isn't real..." Bezil admitted. Owen tilted his head as he did when he encountered something that didn't make sense.
"That's news to me, mate. You blush like a cherry whenever he's mentioned, and you never take your eyes off him when he's around. You look like you're in love to me."
"But... how do I know it's real?" Bezil asked.
"I'd say you'd know if the love is true or not, mate." Owen reassured him. "After all... Hikaru and I made you out of love."
Bezil felt a little more warm at those words. Yes, they were true. There was no question that his parents truly loved each other.
"But... I'm trapped here, dad, I don't know how to get out." Bezil said, trying to stand. It felt too difficult, the power of Taomon was too much for him.
"You do know, Bezil." Owen said. "Think of your friends, how you want to see them again. Think of your family, who love you. And think of the one you love the most."
Bezil thought hard, struggling to not let the shadows win. He thought of the fun times with friends at Rosewood, he thought of exploring ruins with Kitt, he thought of fighting back those bad digimon at his father's side, and he thought of Gummy. He thought of the warmth deep inside when they had their first date, the feeling of ultimate security and joy as they slept together. That was real.
Bezil struggled, his body began to move, slowly at first, then a burst of emotion surged through him like a fire, so much so that a red flame burst over his tail.
"BITCH... GET... OUT!!!" he snarled, and swung his tail hammer as hard as he could, directly into Taomon's face. The force of the attack startled her so much that her spell of despair ended. Bezil stood on the sandy ground, panting. The darkness was gone.
Bezil glared up at her with an anger he had never felt in his life. She had planted all that doubt within him, made him feel shame and guilt over the deepest emotions he had. And he was going to make her pay for that.
Light began to shine around Bezil. Fiery waves of energy surrounded him as power grew inside. Outraged that she had almost broken him.
"I am going to break you, Taomon..." he promised, making her retreat a step. Then the glowing energy hit a peak as Bezil's body began to transform.
"SUPER... EVOLUTION!!" he snarled, and he nearly doubled in size. Scales of armor formed on his body, his tail hammer transformed into a trident, a red, black and gold outfit formed over him, finishing with a MachGaogamon's sash over his chest. His wings grew silver with golden spikes along the edge. This was Bezil's ultimate level.
"...Arresterdramon!"
Bezil has broken free of the spell and evolves to Ultimate level.

The three laid on rough sand, not showing any signs of movement, nor activity. They weren’t dead, but their glossy-blank eyes were devoid of any life, almost as if their souls had been extracted from their bodies.
They were so weak, helpless, unable to stop all the painful memories from their past from consuming them. Maybe everything they’ve done, all the choices, the decisions, the bonds they've made throughout their lives, maybe it was all for nothing. Maybe it was better to let the darkness consume them, to fade away into nothingness. If they went away, these memories will too. Perhaps that was for the best.
Vee’s pale red eyes turn to look at Gummy, his little brother, the one he vowed to protect with his life the day he was born. Some brother he was. He couldn't protect him from getting hurt during that match and he couldn’t protect him now. He just couldn’t...and maybe that was his problem.
He was always so protective of Gummy when they were younger. He always thought that he would be there for him when the going got tough. But now, after they naturally evolved to their Rookie forms, and even when they partnered up with Justice, he realized that he was not just protecting him; he was sheltering him, and all it did was made him act up and rebel.
“Heh. How stupid I was.” Vee muttered, his red eyes shining to life. The fear that was consuming him slowly began to lift as he struggled to get back on his feet. He turned to Gummy, who still remained motionless.
“Gummy, I’m sorry," he said. "You’re like this because of me. I...made you this, all uptight and angry, wanting to be the best. I was so scared. I wanted to protect you so much and be like the ideal big brother that I put a wedge between us without you and I knowing. And seeing you hurt in that sparring match, I felt so...helpless. I can’t protect you from this world. I think the best way to help you now...is to just be there for you.”
Opening his eyes quickly, Gummy blinked into reality, his ears flickering as he became aware of his environment. Vee’s words gave him the strength that allowed him to get back up to his feet, his frame flickering in and out as he did so.
“You... think you were the only one that ever felt helpless,” Gummy countered. “I’ve always felt this way. I was just too stuck up and proud to say it. I tried to hide it through strength, thinking that as long as I had power, I wouldn’t feel helpless like I did back then.”
An apparition of the Black Gatomon that frequently bullied him appeared before him, standing there with a snide smile. Gummy began his staggered approach to her, not as the scared, helpless Tsunomon he was, but as a proud Gumdramon. Instead of raising a first, he walked through her, the Black Gatomon fading away into his mind.
“I was wrong. I don’t want to gain power just so I won’t feel helpless again; I want to get stronger to protect the things that matter to me--Everyone. I can’t believe it took me this long to realize that.”
Vee smiled at him, limping towards him and giving him a fist bump, to which Gummy casually returned. The two then focused their attention on Justice, who was now on his knees, his eyes shadowed by his hair strains, but it didn’t hide the tears that were running down his face. He was still consumed by his own despair.
The twins' eyes narrowed as they began to limp towards their Tamer. As they gained their footing, the magic that surrounded Justice brought forth a strong gust of wind, pushing them back as a way to prevent them from getting to Justice. They didn’t care.
The two clench their fist, breaking off into a sprint as their frames became more and more unstable.
“JUSTICE! TIME TO WAKE UP!!!” they snarled, raising their fists, punching Justice directly in the face. The force of their punch sent Justice back a couple of feet. Unorthodox? Yes, but he needed a hard wake-up call.
“Justice, do you remember when we all became partners? I said that we would protect you, no matter what happens. At first it was because it was our job, but now it’s because we love you.” Vee said matter-of factly, struggling to keep his body from evaporating into data.
“You’ve been through so much, and we’re sorry. Your mom doesn’t deserve an amazing human like you.” Gummy added. “But you can’t let those years of hurt define who you are. Only you get to choose what you want to be in life, not her! You’re not a product of your mom’s misgivings; you’re Justice Tibbs, the coolest, funniest, and the most artistic human we’ve ever met! And you better believe it!”
Justice’s eyes regained its shine, the darkness that surrounded him slowly dissipating. The words struck familiar to him. “Who...am I?” he asked, confusingly.
“You’re Justice Tibbs!” Vee answered.
“I’m...Justice...Tibbs...I’m Justice...Tibbs.” He kept repeating to himself, slowly rising with his head still lowered. “I’m...I'm...I'm JUSTICE TIBBS!”
His D-Watch exploded into a blue light. The light grew in size, powerful enough to make Doumon’s spheres of illusions dissipate, ending his mind games. As the light died down, the Ultimate level Digimon would see the trio surrounded by a soothing orange aura, the aura healing Vee and Gummy from their injuries.
The three glared up at Doumon with a rage that couldn’t be contained. They approached the priest, fire now littering the sand with each step they made.
“You’re gonna regret not finishing us off, Doumon…” Justice stated. The orange aura became vibrant, the pockets of flames that were made from their footprints increased in size and began to swirl around them, roaring like a tornado. "Everything you've put us through...we're gonna make sure you pay us pack, a hundred times over!"
“JUST WHO-“
“IN THE HELL-"
“DO YA THINK WE ARE?!?”
The D-Watch flashed brighter, causing Vee and Gummy body’s to transform.
“CHOU SHINKA!” Their forms began to peel away, their data growing and shifting. Vee grew massive in size, much larger than his XV-mon form as his scales became more jagged, sprouting spikes on his elbows and horns on the back of his head. His wingspan grew red as he flew, before landing and taking an offensive stance. “Areo Veedramon!"
Gummy, much like Bezil, doubled in size, taking on a form similar to Arresterdramon: his arms and feet were identical, but adorne with silver guards, with his tail anchor gold in color. He now had a visible mouth, with sharp, jagged teeth, alongside with a pair of large yellow wings. “Arresterdramon Superior Mode!”
The fire around the three figures died down, revealing Justice on the shoulder of the new form Gummy had taken. “It’s time to put you where you two belong...six feet under!"

For Taomon and Doumon, they had come so close to breaking down their intended victims. After all, it was never really satisfying to finish off a target if they struggled. But... all of them at once pulled through. And the three digimon before them all evolved to their Ultimate levels.
"...How did you do this?!" Taomon asked, incredulous.
"I'm not going to waste my time explaining love to a heartless creature like you." Bezil replied, his voice now a menacing growl, his yellow eyes filled with malice. He flexed his new wings and prepared himself for combat.
Doumon meanwhile tried to respond with some bravado. "You truly think you're a match for us, just because you've newly evolved?" he asked. "We have trained in the arcane arts for years, and you barely know your new powers. Powers that will soon belong to us."
Hearing these words, Taomon regained her composure as well. "Indeed. We may be at the same level on paper, but, you won't prevail over us."
They readied their magic paintbrushes in preparation. Bezil would have admired their resolve, had he not resolved himself to destroy them for the pain they gave to so many others. And so, the newly evolved Arresterdramon began his plan, raising his left arm, revealing a small device attached to his wrist - the D-MR. A device that digimon could use alongside cards, without the need of a human partner and their digivice.
"You're a liar, through and through." Bezil replied, drawing a card from a pouch around his waist, then struck it through the card reader. "Digimodify! LadyDevimon's Black Spear activate!"
Then at once, his right hand transformed, a spiral of black energy surrounding it until it formed a menacing dark appendage, ending with a sharp point. It glowed purple with shadow energy. Taomon stared at it with fright.
"This is going through that shard of flint you have instead of a heart..." Bezil promised, not caring how nasty he sounded. Taomon had provoked him to fight to kill, and he was going to make sure she knew that. A second later, he lunged toward her, aiming his weapon.
"Not yet! Celestial Brush!" Taomon cried in response, holding her brush like a sword, surrounding it with silvery energy. As Bezil prepared to land his blow, she parried it with the brush, making his spear miss. But he grinned in triumph through his jagged mouth, quickly re-maneuvering his body.
"Tail Flail!" he snarled, and Taomon gasped as Bezil's tail slashed across her chest, tearing her robes and leaving a glowing scar of data in its wake.
"Damn you...!" Taomon seethed, now beginning to realize that they were more evenly matched than they first thought.
Bezil uses a LadyDevimon card via his D-MR and uses Black Spear.
DA-10 Card Name: LadyDevimon Type: Digimon Rank: Gold Duration: 1 Post Darkness Wave: The target Digimon sends a pulse of dark energy at their foe. Black Spear: The target Digimon's arm turns into a lance, which can be used as a weapon.
Taomon parries with Celestial Brush.

“If you want our powers so bad, then come and get it.” Justice firmly stated to Doumon. Usually he would make a witty comment to either troll his opponents so they would get pissed, or to mask his anxiousness. With these two...no.
Vee and Gummy took no time for conversation and flew towards Doumon, with Justice still riding on the Arresterdramon’s shoulder, his D-Watch still shining bright.
“Hmph! Taiho!” Doumon chanted as he deftly pained a glyph in the air, releasing a fireball in the shape of a phoenix at high speeds.
Vee and Gummy leaped out of the way in opposite directions. The attack flew out into a nearby sand dune, exploding as it soon made contact. For a moment, the twins were surprised at how fast they avoided the blast. If they were in their Champion forms, the attack would have hit them dead on.
Gummy sprinted towards Doumon, Vee flew overhead. With a forward thrust of his leg, Gummy boot kicked, nailing Doumon in the chest. He flipped backwards and quickly regained composure, preparing to counter with another spell attack.
The Arresterdramon intercepted this, and with a forward flap from his wings, he propelled himself towards Doumon, stunning the priest as he was kicked into the air, giving Vee a good shot for an attack.
“V-Breath Arrow!” Vee shouted, firing blue-white flames from his mouth at Doumon.
Upside-down in mid-air, Doumon smirked. “Terikaesu!” He painted another glyph in the air, forming a portal in front of him. The V-shaped heat blast made contact with it, reflecting back to the Areo Veedramon, hitting him right in the face. Vee yelled, falling to the ground.
Doumon landed on the ground gracefully, confident that he’ll make quick work of the newly two Ultimates. They may be on the same level as him and Taomon, but compared to them, they were nothing but spring chickens, learning as they went along.
That confidence would soon fade as he saw Taomon take a nasty blow from Bezil. “Sister!”
“Archivolt!”
The priest Digimon found himself partially impaled through the stomach by Gummy’s tail anchor, leaving a red, glowing hole of data in the aftermath. Taomon leaped away from Gummy, clutching his would.
“No amount of apologizing is gonna save your skin after what you did to us...We’re gonna put your asses on the first-class cabin on the train bound to hell.” Gummy promised, his blue eyes filled with insurmountable rage. Vee quickly recovered, getting back up to his feet and standing side by side next to his brother.
Doumon spat a bit of data on the ground. He readied his paintbrush, realizing that he underestimated them. “Tch! Don't get cocky, worms!"
Combat Log:
Vee and Gummy leaped out of way of Doumon's Taiho.

Bezil turned to see how his allies were holding up against Doumon. To his shock, the other Perfect level seemed to be holding his own, managing to reflect an attack to hurt Vee, but Gummy's attack landed true. It then dawned on him that they were only fighting at the equal level now, not a higher one. They could not dominate with power alone, they would have to be both tactically and strategically sound. The rage washed away from Bezil's mind as he tried to focus on his father's lessons.
"Sinking in is it now?" Taomon asked, her voice taunting. Bezil glared at her for that use of wording. He had nearly been dragged down to his death in peat, and he had relived that feeling through her spell of despair. "You may have digivolved, runt, but you'll never defeat us with righteous anger alone."
Bezil wanted to strike back at her for those words, but, he had been taught patience. He knew she was goading him to attack regardless.
"Why do you do these horrible things to others, Taomon?" he asked instead. "Is there a method to your madness, or do you just like being this despicable?"
"There is indeed a method to it." Taomon replied, smirking. "I don't expect someone like you to understand, but, loading another digimon takes considerable effort, especially those strong-willed ones. However, if we break down their defenses beforehand... the data we absorb is exquisite. No resistance whatsoever."
Bezil glared at her, struggling to find a way to retort to that. "The world will truly be a better place with you gone." was what he settled on in the end.
"Well, I'm still here, boy!" Taomon replied, swishing her brush once more. Before Bezil could react to it, she snarled "Danbaku!" and at once, a torrent of water was launched at Bezil. He gasped, crossing his arms in front of him in an attempt to defend, but the water attack punched through his defenses and hurt him badly, making him cry in pain. Bezil was weak against water attacks, and it left a lingering pain against him.
"Hmph, that should have at least severed one of your wings..." Taomon tutted with disappointment. This made Bezil's temper peak again. He felt the power of his father Owen rise up within him, so much that he could do little but roar at Taomon. It was such an intensive roar that the air around her became distorted. She dismissed it at first, but the resonance of the attack thumped in her ears, so much so that she cried out in pain.
Bezil wanted to say something nasty in response, like 'There'll be severing alright, Taomon...', but remained silent. He knew from his training that it was better to stay so in a battle against an evenly matched opponent. Let them try and come up with the banter, while he came up with the battle tactics.
Taomon uses Danbaku against Bezil.
Danbaku - Taomon paints a water talisman in the air, which conjures a powerful jet of water at the target. [Cooldown: 1 turn]

Howling Cannon - Bezil takes a deep breath, then roars and launches a powerful blast of ultrasonic energy at the enemy, reaching an area-of-effect of 10m. This attack not only deals damage from the blast, but disorients their minds a little, increasing any active cooldowns they might have by 1 post. [Cooldown: 3 turns]

Justice turned to see how Bezil was doing against Taomon. At first, the Arresterdramon wanted to learn why her and Doumon committed such atrocities to Digimon, only for the priest fox to respond with vile nonsense. What a load of bullshit. What they were doing was sadistic cannibalism, nothing more. There was no ulterior motive behind it, no grandiose goal to rid all humans from this world. To him, they were just doing it for goddamn shits and giggles.. It then dawned on him, how did Aramdillomon and the others escape?
Doumon made his move, leaping over Gummy with ease, firing a quick beam attack dead on Vee’s face. Vee recovered quickly and grabbed onto Doumon’s sleeve, shocking the priest Digimon as he was pulled closer. “Magnum Crash!” He roared, his fist glowing a blazing orange. He punched him, sending the Ultimate Digimon tumbling across the sand like tumbleweed before he regained his footing.
Behind him, Gummy charged. “Prism Garret!” His eyes took on a whitish glow and he disappeared in a blast of strong wind, and four more copies of himself appeared, surrounding the grey fox. Together they charged, slashing with their tails together as one.
“Such coordination..!” Doumon cried out, pain generating through his body as he was hit and sliced with the tails several times. Despite the unrelenting attack, he managed to leap out of the center of the Arresterdramon hoarded and landed gracefully away from them, as the ghostly duplicates became the original one again. He was crotched on the ground, his face fierce and determined. He glanced at Justice, still riding on Gummy’s back. A smirk appeared on his face. He got up, then began clapping his hands in an applaud, confusing the trio.
“I have to admit, this is outstanding, human. Absolutely outstanding!” Doumon said. “I never would have imagined that someone as strong-willed as you were to break out of my strongest illusion spell, a human no less. But a human is still just a human, as you were only able to break through with the help of your two Digimon that you causally slave around. If not, you would have made for an exquisite meal—all three of you, and my sister and I have loaded many Digimon in our day to get where we are. Dozens. Literally, dozens."
The three didn’t respond; their glare at him only grew sharper in disgust.
Doumon frowned, expecting a response from them. “What’s the matter, no quips, purple one? No heroic speeches, blue one?” His gaze turned towards Justice. “And what about you, human: the one who’s been through such a traumatic childhood because mommy didn’t love you enough to consider your feelings and dreams, and oh yes, I saw all of it. That pain, your screams, had me licking my lips in anticipation to devour you.”
The three still gave no response to him, causing a vein to become visible on Doumon’s temple as he gritted his teeth in anger.
“Nothing? Not a peep? No more words to fail?! You think now that your Digimon evolved to Ultimate, that you’re better than me, Doumon?!”
Still no response.
“Well you’re not!” Illusions or not, one thing is certain: YOU WILL DIE!” Doumon began swishing his brush one more. A large symbol appeared in front of him. “Bonhitsusen!” The symbol began to shine a suave blue light as it charged towards the three.
With no time to get out of the way, Vee and Gummy huddled together, holding Justice closely to shield him as the blue light quickly engulfed them, causing a giant beam of white and blue energy to engulf the entire area and shoot towards the sky, into the clouds.
Combat Log:
Doumon preforms Light Lance, striking Vee.
Light Lance - Doumon points his brush at the opponent like a spear, then launches a quick-firing beam of light at them. No cooldown, no additional effects.

Bezil merely listened with disgust at what these digimon were saying, how they bragged about devouring the data of others. So far he didn't fear for the safety of Gummy, Justice and Vee, they seemed to be handling Doumon fairly well.
But one thing about their speeches made Bezil curious. "If you enjoy devouring other digimon so much, why did you let Armadillomon and his friends escape?" he asked Taomon.
"Heh, the answer is simple." the yellow furred priest digimon responded. "What sort of hunter eats their bait?"
Bezil's yellow eyes widened. "So... you mean..."
"Yes! Of course we let those little whelps free! They'd flee to their strongest friends and send you fools to us!" Taomon declared with triumph. "And now you will be our most satisfying prey yet!"
Bezil's words of contempt for this was halted by the skirmish between Doumon, Vee and Gummy. Their latest exchange ended with Doumon, having suffered much damage so far, countering with a spell targeting the three of them. He seemed to conduct himself with triumph.
"And thus your friends' story ends." Taomon taunted. "I believe you seemed to care strongly for one of them. Allow me to show you, Bezil, how tragically impotent your efforts have been thus far."
With that, Taomon painted a rune that meant 'healing' in the air, and soon after, a blue-green light shone over her, mending the wounds that Bezil had inflicted so far.
"Hikari Iyasu." she chanted. "Now then. Shall we commence the next futile round of- wait, what are you doing?!"
Bezil said nothing as he immediately swooped and changed direction. Taomon tried to follow, but her healing spell had taken a lot of energy to perform. To her horror, Bezil was closing in on Doumon, who had just performed his attack on Justice, Vee and Gummy. The Arresterdramon drew his fist back, made it glow with a light blue energy, then shoved it forward into Doumon's face as he shouted, "Sprouting Crystal!"
As he struck, Doumon became encased with ice crystals. Yes, he could barely perform attacks if he tried to, but, for the time being, he was immobilized.
"No! Brother!" Taomon cried as she watched, powerless to intervene.
"Gummy! Vee! Justice! Strike him while you can!" Bezil cried to his allies, knowing that efforts of teamwork like this was the only way that they could emerge alive from this battle.
Bezil switches targets and attacks Doumon with Sprouting Crystal.
Sprouting Crystal - Bezil either punches the ground, causing a wave of energy to pass through it so that ice crystals erupt under the enemy, or punches them directly, causing the same. He can only do so to flying opponents through the melee method. Immobilizes them for 1 post. [Cooldown: 3 turns]
Taomon heals herself with Hikari Iyasu.
Hikari Iyasu - (Healing Light), Taomon conjures a restorative spell upon herself or an ally, healing moderate amounts of damage. [Cooldown: 3 turns]

The area that Justice, Vee and Gummy were was nothing more than a gigantic sinkhole with sand filling in the crater like a waterfall. No human, no Digimon. Just a billowing cloud of destruction remained, with ashes and embers struggling to remain alight.
Doumon lowered his large paintbrush as he scanned the area, still alert, waiting to see if the trio had survived the attack. Their willpower alone was strong enough to break through his strongest illusion spell, so he was not going to take any chances whatsoever.
Soon enough, the billowing smoke cleared up, and what was seen was Vee and Gummy partially buried in the same, seamlessly unconscious, with Justice nowhere in sight.
A wide grin appeared across Doumon’s face. He began to chuckle, and soon erupt into a maniacal laughter. He had seemingly won.
“And thus the curtains come to a close on your human’s life.” Doumon taunted. “Such a shame, his data would have been the main course, but no matter...” He raised his paint brush, conjuring the symbol of lightning, preparing to use the attack he used on Bezil earlier, Rakurai. “In the end, you never stood a chance against us. C’mon, beg for mercy! Say you’ll do anything if I spare your lives! Let’s hear it, boys. Cry for me, scream, soak your face in tears and rend your hearts out! HAHAHAHA! Not that I wouldn't let you go. No, your deaths will balance the scales. It’s what you get for crossing us, and it’s what you get for partnering with a disgusting human. Now die!”
Before he could attack with his powerful lightning spell, his face would be pummeled by Bezil’s fists so fast that he didn’t have time to react. His body became encased in ice, rendering him unable to move.
“You would dare, cretin?!” he shouted.
His eyes would then tremble in confusion and shock to what Bezil had said, and soon enough, he heard movement in the sinkhole he’d made. He turned his head to see Vee and Gummy sprouting their wings and rising out of the sand, battered and bruised. In Vee’s cupped hands did Justice emerge alive, his clothes torn as blood drips from his left arm.
The site of the human still being alive made veins around Doumon’s face puff up in anger. “No, no, no, no! Why...why won’t you all just give up and perish?!?!”
The trio landed on the sand. Vee lowered his hands allowing Justice to get off. The young man approached the frozen priest, the Digimon gritting his teeth in anger.
“Family.” Justice simply stated.
“What?!” Doumon angry question.
“You assumed that my Digimon were merely slaves. You’re wrong. They’re family.” Justice took a step forward, his eyes beaming with calm rage. “Ever since I became a Tamer a year ago, I’ve had the wonderful experience getting to know these two idiots, something I wouldn't trade for the world. Sure, they have their faults, but who doesn’t? But I’ve never once ordered them to do something against their will. They’ve become a part of my life just as I’ve become a part of theirs.”
Doumon opened his mouth to respond but was quickly cut off.
“Mute it. I’m talking. I’ll admit, you’re right: my childhood was sad, but it’s a part of me, and it’ll be a part of me for the rest of my life. As much as I want to pray to God, telling him to make my family different, I have to accept the reality: my mom will never change, but you know what I can do? Cut toxicity at the source, forge new bonds, and live a happy life, free to pursue my dreams. You can make me relive the darkest parts of my life, kill me perhaps, but you’ll never be able to destroy me.”
Justice turned his back, walking away from Doumon. “But why waste my time talking to someone who’s already dead?”
On queue, the twins then began to charge their respective attacks: Vee cupped his hands together, forming an intense blue-white ball of energy as he was surrounded in a dragon-like arua. Gummy’s hands were coated in blue and red flames. He raised his hands up, combining them together, forming a purple ball, ready to release its violent energy.
“Jackpot!”
The two unleashed their attacks, aiming directly at Doumon. Doumon had no means of adequate defense against their attacks. He wanted to raise his brush to summon a mirror to reflect the attack back at them, but his body was still frozen in ice crystals. The attacks overwhelmed and engulfed him.
“N-NOOOO!” He gave one last scream of defiance before his body could take no more, disintegrating into data.
The combined attacks went off into the distance before detonating into a huge explosion of vibrate display. Doumon was no more. Combat Log:
Doumon is unable to take further damage and is destroyed by Vee's Dragon Impulse and Gummy's Crimson Flare.
Dragon Impulse - Casts an aura around itself in the shape of a dragon, then fires it at the opponent. If caught, the attack surrounds the opponent for a few seconds then explodes, dealing massive amounts of damage to the surrounding area. [Cooldown: 3 posts]
Crimson Flare - Gummy coats one fist with red flames and the other with blue flams. He combines them to unstable, purple ball, then releases it into a large, destructive energy wave. [Cooldown: 2 posts]
Vee's cooldowns: Vee Breath Arrow: 2/2; ready for use.

For a few short moments, Bezil had been horrified by the prospect that Doumon had successfully been able to destroy Gummy, Vee and Justice, but, in the moments that followed, no... he could still feel their presence. They were still alive. That was what gave him the confidence to go for Doumon and grant them their devastating blow against him.
In that moment, Bezil felt vindicated that he had asked these three to accompany him on this mission, and was proud to have them here as his allies, friends... no, family. That's what they were. Hearing stories from his grandpa Sten about what it was like to have comrades that he could truly trust on the battlefield and how it felt in the moment... yes, Bezil understood this now.
Taomon shrieked with horror as she saw her brother's destruction. She felt the lurch in her digicore from losing him. Then felt terror upon her as the three Perfect level digimon would inevitably turn their attention upon her.
Bezil's yellow eyes were the most intense. As they would, she had violated his memories after all, but she had intended to break him there and then. But instead, it seemed to have made him stronger.
Perhaps though... if she focused deep down... she could use her brother's death to strengthen herself against these upstarts? It had happened before, digimon regularly would evolve in situations of dire adversity. She tried, focusing... focusing...
"Not working is it?" Bezil asked, coldly.
"You shut up you little runt, you have no idea what I'm doing!" Taomon snarled in response. But Bezil gave a grin in response, the Arresterdramon growing in confidence by the second.
"You're trying to increase your power in this situation." Bezil stated, with a confidence stemming from the background of his parents - a King and a Soldier. "But you can't do it, because Doumon wasn't anything to you other than a tool. Yes, he helped you win battles and commit atrocities, but neither of you really cared about each other."
"How DARE you speak about him that way!" Taomon snarled at him.
"It's the truth, you miserable fiend!" Bezil snarled back. "I have brothers and sisters of my own, and I love them all. When I felt your horrible presence inside my mind, I felt nothing like that with how you felt about Doumon! You weren't a family, you were just a pair of vile monsters! And I'm glad he's dead!"
"YOU SHUT YOUR BASTARD MOUTH!!" Taomon screamed, and this time, she was provoked to attack. Red-white cards began to flow from her robe, and with a cry of "Kofusatsu!" she sent them flying around Bezil, who gasped in pain as they inflicted their spell on his power. But, his grimace turned to a grin once again.
"So, you're sealing me, eh?" the Arresterdramon asked, then raised his claws in concentration, gathering a bright white energy. "How are you gonna deal with my boyfriend and my brother-in-law?"
He then glanced at Vee, Gummy and Justice, indicating to them with a wink that he'd like nothing more than for them to give her hell.
"Let's see how your barriers and parlor tricks hold up here." he said. "Oh, and by the way, my parents are married, so calling me a bastard is pretty inaccurate, not that it's anything to be ashamed of, you vile excrement."
Taomon uses Kofusatsu on Bezil.
Kofusatsu - (Fox Seal Paper), Taomon conjures a flurry of paper seals that orbit around an opponent, reducing their attack power by 50% for 2 turns.

Justice closed his eyes and exhaled slowly, relieved that the Digimon that forced him to relive his memories was finally gone. Vee and Gummy felt the same way too. It was like a nice, refreshing breeze had washed over them, calming their raging hearts. Well...half of it.
They turned their attention to Taomon, who cried in horror as she saw brother’s demise. They had no sympathy for her loss. After all, her and Taomon committed so many atrocities, they’d be doing a world a favor with them gone.
They watched in silence as Bezil taunted her, who then retaliated by throwing a flurry of tags at him, tags that appeared to hinder him rather than hurt him.
Vee began to conjure energy on his hands, summoning a pair of energy blades on his wrists. He wanted to give Taomon one last chance to cut her losses while she can and turn herself in and repent for her and her brother’s crimes, but as it stands now, she was too dangerous to be kept alive. For the safety of not only himself, his Tamer, his brother, and Digimon everywhere, she had to be put down.
Gummy ignited his tail in blue flames as he snarled at Taomon. Not only did she make his boyfriend experience the same agony as they did, but she was bold enough to lay a finger on him and expect to get away with it. It made his blood boil! But when Bezil gave a wink at them, he calmed down and smiled back, returning the wink back, and then he returned his glare to Taomon.
“You should come to realize that you’re only delaying the inevitable.” Gummy taunted.
“You’re wasting your time, bitch.” Vee said, pointing at her. He turned to his brother, smirking. “I think she needs to learn the hard way!”
Gummy gave a quick glance at his brother, eyes lighting up in agreement. He then flew up into the air, outstretching his wings as he became charged with dark blue energy, then flapped his wings. “Crimson Bolide!”
A barrage of fireballs began to rain down from the tip of his wings, the majority of them targeting Taomon while some of them hit the ground, dotting the landscape in flames.
“Wind Guardian!” Vee bellowed. A light green vortex of wind surrounded the AeroVeedramon. As he lunged towards Taomon, some of the fireballs from Gummy’s attack bounced off him, giving a clear sign to the enemy Digimon that projectile attacks won’t work on him for the time being. He readied his plasma-based wrist blades, attacking her with a flurry of strikes.
Meanwhile Justice watched on, clutching his bruised and bloodied arm, confident that the two would buy Bezil enough time to unleash his attack.
Combat Log:
Gummy makes it rain with Crimson Bolide on Taomon.
Crimson Bolide - Focuses energy into the outstretch of his wings and razes the earth with fire barrages, scorching the area. [Cooldown: 3 posts]
Vee activates Wind Guardian, then charges and attacks Taomon with a basic flurry slashes from his energy blades.

Taomon stared with fury and horror at her opponents. Two had just killed her brother, and the third was gathering energy. She needed to destroy all three of them in return, but they were closing in fast. However, she could deal with both Vee and Gummy's incoming attacks. For Vee, she painted a shielding rune in front of her, one that would raise a spherical barrier around her that would deflect all attacks with a cry of "Talisman Shield!"
Then for Gummy's incoming fireballs, she would quickly follow up with the rune she had learned from Doumon, which would reflect incoming projectile attacks. With a twisted smile at how ingenous her plan was, with a cry of "Terikaesu!" she sent Gummy's Crimson Bollide directly at Bezil.
"Fair exchange! My brother for your lover!" she declared. The Arresterdramon watched the fireballs close in, but merely crossed his arms as they arrived. Yes, the attack stung, but did little damage. Bezil's fiery heart prevented the flames from hurting him too badly. After all, it was Gummy's attack, he knew that his boyfriend never wanted to harm him. This was all just a cheap trick.
Still though, the redirected attack stung. But Bezil wasn't going to falter here. Smoke was rising from his clothes, scorch marks visible on them. For a moment, he flinched, but his yellow eyes stared back at Taomon with determination. He wouldn't be taken out that easily.
"Nice try! But you're still dead!" he snarled back at her. By now the power of his charged attack was enough to make the earth below shake, particles of sand rising from its intensity. Sparks of energy arced between his hands as he readied the attack inherited from his father Hikaru.
Vee's attempt at a melee attack against Taomon would be blocked by her Talisman Shield, but it would be the only attack it would block before it faded.
"W-what is this?! Why are you all still standing?!" Taomon shrieked with confused terror. "You should all be dead by now!"
"It's a thing called Karma, Taomon." Bezil answered, continuing to gather energy. "In this moment, every evil thing you and your brother have done is going to be paid for. You don't get a happy ending from this. All the digimon you've loaded and traumatized, they're now going to get what is owed to them. Funny that you haven't figured that out, you being a Taomon and all - supposedly a digimon well versed in onmyoudou."
"How do you know what that is?!" Taomon snarled.
"Papa told me, he knows a lot." Bezil answered. "Best concern yourself with what my companions will do to you next, now that you've used up your barriers."
"Shit!" Taomon gasped, realizing that was true. She couldn't use her barrier techniques again this quickly. And Vee and Gummy were able to attack again. And Doumon wasn't around to cover for her anymore...
Taomon uses Terikaesu to redirect Gummy's Crimson Bollide from her to Bezil.
Terikaesu - Taomon paints a rune representing a mirror. If 1 projectile attack up to the Ultimate level is aimed at her, she can reflect it at an opponent with its additional effects halved. [Cooldown: 3 turns].
Taomon uses Talisman Shield to block Vee's attack.
Talisman Shield - Taomon Conjures a barrier in front of herself or an ally. The barrier can take up to 1 Ultimate level attack or 3 Champion level attacks before breaking. If the opponent uses a melee attack, they will be damaged via electrocution from the energy of the shield. [Cooldown: 2 turns]
Bezil takes the Crimson Bollide, but damage is halved because of his Fiery Heart passive.
Combat Passive Ability: Fiery Heart - Increases Bezil's resistance to Fire elemental attacks by 50%, and protects him from the effects of heat. However, increases the damage he takes from Water attacks by 50%.
Bezil continues to charge Lightstream (2 charges)
Bezil's attack power is reduced by 50% [2/2 turns, returns to normal next turn]

The twins both gritted their teeth as Taomon began to double down on her defenses, summoning two barriers—one to reflect Gummy’s attack, and the other for Vee’s. They forgot she had that ability. Vee watched in shock as his brother’s attack was redirected towards Bezil, who was still charging his attack. But with Gummy, he watched intently, seemingly not rushing in to his boyfriend’s aid.
Why? Because he knew that Bezil was resistant against fire. A cocky grin appeared on his face as his attack did little to put a dent on his boyfriend’s body, the fireballs quickly smoldering as it made contact on his clothes. It may have hurt a little, but his Bezil can take it. As sweet as he is, he was tougher than an iron wall, so there was no way a trick like that would hurt him, especially his own attack.
Vee made his assault and stuck Taomon shield to no effect, only for it to disappear soon afterward. Now she was vulnerable. The Aeroveedramon smirked, then ascended a bit, aiming his dual energy blades at her.
“Take this, witch! Twisted Sabers!” Vee began to spin horizontally, slicing Taomon in a drill-like motion. As she was stunned, Gummy dived down towards her. But instead of attacking her, the Arresterdramon simply gripped the priest with both hands, squeezing her shoulders. He brought her closer to his face until they were inches apart. He wanted to see the fear in her eyes.
“It’s over for you,” Gummy stated, his green eyes glaring directly at her. “I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. Do you know why you and your brother lost today? Because you two encountered a force stronger than your spells, stronger than all the Digimon you’ve absorbed put together: a heart. A heart that can love another person, human and Digimon. And that is what you and brother lack!”
With a defiant roar, Gummy grabbed Taomon by the arm, spinning her around a few times before hurling her in Bezil’s direction.
“Bezil, now’s your chance to send her straight to hell!” Gummy cried out, seeing that his boyfriend’s attack was now ready.

Unable to raise her barriers again, Taomon did the only thing she could do to avoid Vee's flashy spinning attack - dodge it in the only direction possible. However, to her shock and horror, this move was anticipated, and she was quickly intercepted by Gummy, the much larger digimon gripping her too strongly for any means of escape.
In this situation, she was unable to even use her brush as a means of defense. She was terrified, defenseless, doomed.
She barely registered what Gummy was saying, all of her body was in full panic mode. Taomon rapidly sought out any means of escape, any to get away from here. Even if they weren't logical, she was reduced to her base instincts here.
Then, all as one, she felt her body seize up. She could move no longer. And the reason why? The voices that had whispered in her mind since the time she had loaded her first opponent were now speaking clearly.
"We'll be free!" they cheered. "At last! We'll be free!"
Taomon gasped as she realized that this was the data of all the digimon she had loaded for their power. While she had been powerful, she had been able to keep them dormant, but now when she was at her weakness... they were turning on her.
"No... not this!" she whimpered, hoping her vulnerability might invoke some mercy from Gummy. It did not.
Powerless to resist, Gummy then hurled her through the air towards Bezil.
And in that moment, the Arresterdramon summoned all the emotion that he had been feeling toward this moment. The hatred of Taomon for all of her atrocities, and how she had dared to try and make him fall into despair by questioning the love he had for his family. The elation he had in having enough power to defend those he cared about. And the righteous anger he felt in this chance to deal out ultimate justice, and he would use his father Hikaru's attack to do so.
"LIGHTSTREAM!!" he roared, and with a great lunge of his arms, he hurled all of the energy he had charged in his arms in an almighty flashing beam of light directly at Taomon. The attack burst into the sky, so bright it would hurt the eyes of anyone looking directly at it. Taomon had no chance, her data was ripped to shreds instantly. It took a few seconds for the light to fade, but when it did, all that was left was dust and data, flying off into the winds.
Bezil panted as it was over. He lowered his arms, then fell to one knee as the adrenaline-fueled rush ended along with the danger. They had won. They had triumphed against two of the worst digimon he had ever encountered. They had nearly died in doing so, but, in the end, they had survived and came out on top.
"Is... everyone... okay?!" he called out to the others, hoping his companions were still standing too.
Taomon dodges Twisted Sabers, but in doing so, she is caught by Gummy and loses control of her ability to dodge further.
Bezil is no longer sealed by Kofusatsu and his attack power returns to 100%.
Bezil launches a 3x charged Lightstream at Taomon.
Lightstream: Bezil attacks the enemy with a blast of light. He has the ability to charge it for up to 3 turns. On the 3rd turn, he can launch it for 300% damage. [Cooldown: 2 turns]
Taomon is destroyed upon contact.
