Unsure of what exactly led to this point, Drake found himself needing to meet someone, and it was meant to be a date. He really had to pay better attention to what he was getting himself into, some guy had just come up to him and proposed an adventure of sorts. It sounded like fun, so he signed up and then he was texted with a bit more details on what was happening. So, he had already committed to the idea and hell, maybe it would be a fun time. The bigger issue was that it had been a while since he'd been on anything remotely like a date and he was not that great in the knowing what to do for a date.
Here he was in his hotel room trying to get everything sorted so that he could get to the meet up on time. The easiest thing for him would be the clothes at least, taking his navy, button-down shirt out and slipping it on. Next the dark-wash jeans, he didn't know what kind of date this would wind up being but something that could work most scenarios seemed best. When he was fully dressed he grabbed everything that he needed, making sure to cover the digivice on his wrist for now. He didn't know if she was someone aware of the Digital World, but he figured better safe than sorry.
This was one of the rare instances where he could feel so nervous, when it seemed such a mundane occurrence. Yet here was worrying about so many little things that it was almost a bit overwhelming and that made him pause at the door to his room. “Alright, relax, it's been a while but it's just a date. No reason for all this,” he slapped both side of his face enough to clear his mind. Locking the door behind him, he move towards the meeting location. It was his first time in this particular area of Shibuya, given that it was only a short time that he even got to Japan.
Following the directions on his smartphone he found his way to the location where he was set to meet the woman. Now it was just a matter of waiting, and figuring out what to do, this was probably the one area where he wasn't confident. To help pass the time and relax, he closed his eyes letting the subtle breeze wash over him and just listened to the sounds of the city.

Truth be told this would be the first blind date Yasu had ever been on. The idea of the whole thing sounded strange to her, but her little sister had talked her into signing up as well. New city, new experiences, or something like that. It was a game, and Yasuko was ready to play! Seeing as this was a sort of special occasion she wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to wear. Then again, she thought her usual look portrayed who she was well enough! So the only thing she left at home was her shades. She wouldn't be needing them for a night on the town, anyways.
The night air was cool and welcoming as she made her way into Shibuya's entertainment district. Having never been to this area of the city yet she was glad that the date had been set for the evening. The neon lights and colors of signs and advertisements were eye catching, and it seemed that a lot of people were out looking for fun, too. This certainly wasn't her stomping grounds in Yokohama down the bay, but she could get used to this!
When she got to the designated meeting area it wasn't too hard to guess who her date was. While there were people walking about, there was only one guy standing around like he was waiting for someone. His height and broad build immediately stood out to her, but it wasn't a deterrent to her at all.
"I know I signed up for a blind date," spoke Yasu with a playful tone as she approached him, noticing his eyes were closed, "..but don't tell me they took things literally?" She'd stand before the large man with her hands on her hips, grinning up at him. "You my Mystery Man tonight?"

With his body finally starting to settle down once more, he was able to enjoy the feel of the wind on his face even more, contentment washing over him. It would be at least a bit short lived though as a voice called out to him asking if this was a literal blind date. Lowering his head to face the voice, his eyes opened to take in the form of what he could only describe as an attractive woman. Even that felt like an understatement, but it was the best his brain could come up with as it was more focused on taking in the sights.
“Wow,” the first thing that escaped his lips, the most striking part was that her eyes were a magenta color. Not something that he had seen before, not to mention that combined with her sliver hair and outfit, did leave a lasting impression. The way she dressed already showed that she was confident in herself and that was something that intrigued him. Maybe this blind ate would be a lot better than he thought, “No, I'm not blind, fortunately.” If he had been, there would have been a lot to miss out on.
“That would be me, my name is Drake and I assume that you are my date? Otherwise I might be even luckier than I thought to have such an alluring woman approach me,” it was simple honesty from him. Somehow actually meeting her seemed to melt a lot of the worry away, but there was still the issue of not really knowing the area. That and not knowing much about what to do for dates so this would be a learning experience for him.
“So, first thing, how about we get some food,” he offered, hoping that it would at least be a good way to start. It seemed as good of a place as any, so there shouldn't be too much issue there, but it was after that where things would get interesting. “Do you have any preference as to what you'd like to eat?” better to ask and make sure, it would make for a bad date if allergies kicked up. He tried taking in a breath to relax a bit more again, nervousness with not knowing what to do still flared up from time to time. It would probably get better as time went by at least. For a first blind date, he really couldn't complain.

As the man started to look her over with those blue eyes of his he seemed to only have one word to say. Yasu would be lying if she claimed that 'wow' didn't stroke her ego. Who didn't like that kind of attention, after all?
"Wow to you too, Drake! Looks like we both lucked out tonight. My name's Yasuko, but you can call me Yasu," she said with a casual two fingered salute from one of her gloved hands. Now that they were talking she too took a turn to give the man a quick up and down. If she had to take a guess she'd bet that he was a foreigner. There weren't a lot of Japanese men who had anything near Drake's physical description.
After he asked about her eating preferences her brows raised up slightly in surprise at his anxious breath. She had to wonder what he was worrying about, but maybe that was already obvious. An amused chuckle escaped her equally amused expression as she paused for a moment to take off her gloves and stuff them in a jacket pocket.
"No claws, see?" she jokingly asked as she held up her hands with her palms facing herself. Then she reached out to lightly rap the knuckles of one hand against Drake's chest. "I'm not gonna scratch big guy, so breathe easy, yeah? We're both here to have a good time, and I'm not as delicate as most city girls." She gave the man a reassuring nod, hoping to put his mind at ease.
"Shibuya's new territory for me, but I did hear there's a great teppanyaki place nearby. Y'know, where they cook the food in front of the guests on a big flat grill?" Yasu made a few quick hand motions mimicking the rapid cutting of a vegetable as she explained. "It's good fun, and fried noodles with beef is tasty!"

Judging by the way she was giving him a look over, it seemed they were both happy with the way they looked at least, a good start. Though like her, the wow to him was a nice boost to his ego, he couldn't deny that the attention was nice. It was also nice to have a name to go with the face, he had to admit that they were both nice.
“Yasu,” he tried to say it exactly as she had, he didn't want to butcher her name first try. Before he could say anything else she was removing her gloves, which caused a slight raise of an eyebrow. Then she spoke about not having claws and it dawned on him that he hadn't hidden his nervousness. A sheepish smile crossed his lips and as she continued, he nodded his head in agreement with what she was saying. It was true, there shouldn't be a need to worry, having a good time was the number one priority so he would just push anything else out of his mind.
“Yeah, you're right. I'm out here with a beautiful woman, I should be focused on having a good time,” that settled things, with as much of his will as he could muster, he pushed down the feelings of worry. There were more important things that needed his attention, and they were all focused on the person in front of him. She mentioned not being as delicate as other women and that did help as well, they seemed to be on a pretty similar wavelength.
“You're new too?” he started and then she mentioned teppanyaki along with her hand motions he got the gist of that she was talking about now. “That sounds like a great idea,” he figured it would be a good place to just sit back and talk for a bit too. “Well, I know you're not delicate, but would you care to be escorted?” he offered, extending his arm out. He figured it would at least be polite to offer, plus it would make it easier for them to keep together while they moved.

It sounded like she had gotten through to him about relaxing, which she approved of. The tiptoeing of formalities really wasn't her thing. Although, having such a large guy tender footing around with her was sort of endearing in its own way.
"Well since it's you asking Drake, I think I'd like that," she teased as she wrapped a hand around the man's arm just above the elbow and moved next to him. Yasu would get them started walking to where she believed the teppanyaki place to be.
"I don't think it's been more than a few months since I moved here from Yokohama," she admitted as her mind thought back to his earlier statement. "Shibuya seems like a nice place, though. Not as crazy busy as Tokyo City, but not as quiet as some other places, either. That being said Shibuya's got its own fun little secrets, too." Of course this line of chatter would lead to the obvious question on her mind.
"How about you, Drake? How long have you been here?" Yasu looked up at the man curiously then. "You chose a good time to be here, too! Usually girls are supposed to give boys chocolate on Valentines Day." The woman chuckled and shook her head as she said, "Listen, I don't really follow that tradition, but I'll buy the first round of drinks later, 'kay?"

“Well, let me know if there's anything else I'd be good with asking you,” he teased back, a playful wink. Oddly enough when he was relaxed, things like that seemed to come from him a lot easier, maybe it was just the thought of dates being more formal. Though thanks to Yasu, that little box seemed to be shattered for better or worse was to be seen.
“Oh yeah? I'd be interested to learn what Yokohama is like,” in all honesty, he was probably the biggest tourist-like person, no knowledge of the other areas of Japan. If she was willing to speak about it, he'd be more than happy to listen to her. “That's true, Shibuya is a pretty good place to spend time, it's got a little bit of everything in just the right ways. Secrets are fun to discover too,” he was curious to know what secrets she knew of Shibuya. Though he was curious if there were any fun secrets to learn about her as well, that could be a fun prospect.
“I've only been here for about a week, staying in a hotel for now,” he figured he'd probably check into an apartment or housing if possible with his stay seeming to be much longer than predicted. “Oh? I didn't realize that it was the girls giving boys chocolates that's a twist,” he smirked, more used to the US style of Valentine's. Though her offer to buy the first round was good, “Who could turn down an offer like that? Good food, good drinks, and a beautiful woman to enjoy it with?” He was pretty sure that was all that anyone could really ask for on Valentine's.

The wink had made her chuckle. She really was glad Drake was loosening up around her. Dates were no fun when people acted all stiff like. She seemed pleased that he wanted to hear more about her hometown, too.
"Oh, yeah? Well, maybe one day I'll do you one better and show you? It's the second largest city in the country, so someone's gotta keep you outta trouble!" The woman laughed briefly as she shook her head, enjoying their conversation. Oh, if Drake only knew how familiar she was with the shadier side of that city.
"There's something for everyone there. There's a brewery for Kirin that does tours there. Hakkeijima if you like amusement parks or aquariums. A ramen and cup noodles museum. My favorite place in the city though is the Yokohama Stadium! Home of the Yokohama DeNA Baystars!" As she announced her home team excitedly the woman punched up in the air with her free hand, grinning. However, her enthusiasm was quick to subside as she laughed sheepishly. Her hand lowered from the victory punch to scratch the back of her head. "Now if they'd only seal the deal with a season sweep I'd be really happy, heh. Baseball's a really competitive sport here, though."
Yasu returned her glance to Drake when he confirmed he was a foreigner. A lot of guys were usually pretty giddy to get chocolates from girls or women on Valentines Day. This was a nice change though, she decided. She really hadn't been expecting much on this blind date, but she was already enjoying herself.
"Say, where are you from anyways, Drake? They really don't make men like you here in Japan, and that's a damn shame."

“I'd like that, maybe show me you favorite hang out spots,” there was no better a tour guide than a local, they usually had the best knowledge of area within a city. Although keeping him out of trouble might prove a bit more difficult, he had a bit of a knack for finding himself in it. He'd at least try to be on his best behavior though.
As she started to describe her hometown, he would sit there and listen to everything she had to say, it wasn't everyday someone got so excited. The fact that it seemed she was excited about showing him her home, well that just made it even better. Plus, it was cute watching her, especially at the end with her arm punch to the air, he laughed at that. “I look forward to all of it, more so since it's gotten you so happy with just talking about it,” he couldn't wait for the tour. Heck, maybe if things went well, they could make a date out of it. A little bit of forward thinking, but he was just being optimistic. “A fan of baseball, eh? I can respect that, I will cheer for the Yokohama DeNA Baystars as well. I hope they can clinch the season.” He wasn't so different had his own teams that he rooted for back home, granted he tended to cheer for some of the less winning teams.
The way things were set to be going, this was going to be the best Valentine's Day ever. Granted, he never really participated in many, but hey it was good to make one of the few good. Then she asked about where he was born, and he thought for a second. He usually didn't like to talk about himself, but she did give him a bit about herself, it was only fair.
“I was born in the United States, California specifically, but moved to the Midwest when I was young. You could say that I'm a one of a kind man, but then again, you're pretty special made yourself,” he smiled, at the least he hadn't met someone like her, so she was definitely one of a kind. It was strange, with the initial meeting and her comment about having fun, he felt at ease. That was kind of rare for him, but maybe she was just someone unique enough to let him open up. “Thank you,” he blurted before really thinking things through.

"Hey now that's what I'm talking about!" she said happily as Drake pledged his allegiance to her favorite team. In her head she was already planning a trip back home with Drake since he seemed interested. Her having converted another Baystars fan was a cherry on the cake, really. While baseball certainly wasn't the end all for entertainment Yasu was indeed fond of the sport.
"Played a bit of baseball myself back in secondary school. Made a pretty great batter if I do say so myself!" The woman rose her free hand again to flex her arm, grinning in a self-satisfied manner. Her larger size no doubt played a part in her success as a player, but it was fair game to Yasu as far as she was concerned. She put her arm down as Drake explained where he was from. Having never really committed a map of the United States to memory she wasn't certain what he meant by the 'Midwest,' but it must have been a hardy place to raise him up to be who he was today. The woman's lips cracked into a proud smile though when he flipped her compliment back on her.
"Specially made, and exclusively yours tonight," she said slyly as she stared up at him. The hasty thanks that left Drake's lips was unexpected, though; it made Yasuko pause for a moment. She could tell from his tone that it wasn't just a bizare slip of composure, but an earnest gratitude for something unspoken.
"You too, big guy," she said in a soft voice, her lips curling again into a warm smile. Yasu wasn't exactly sure what to thank him for, but she was indeed thankful that this was turning into a good evening.
They soon found themselves at the teppanyaki place she had mentioned, and Yasuko did the talking to get them a couple seats. She didn't bother letting go of Drake's arm until they were sitting down next to each other, and as the chef came out to greet them the woman enthusiastically put their order in for noodles and beef.
"Oh yeah, try not to make me look bad for recommending this place! Tonight is going good," she said still talking to the chef, although it was clear her words were more for Drake than anyone else. The cook then set to work, making a show of things as he made their food.
"So you've been here a week or so now, right?" Turning her attention back to Drake she looked up at the man. "Find anything fun in Shibuya, yet?"

The happy tone when he pledged to support her team was good, it seemed a simple gesture, but sometimes simple things were the best. Hopefully, he wasn't like a bad luck charm for the team, that would make things a bit awkward. The thought itself was amusing at the least as he kept his gaze focused on Yasuko, to him she was the only thing worth paying attention to tonight.
“That's awesome, it's a shame I wasn't around to see that. I can imagine you'd be a good batter, you definitely have a good build for it,” the fact that she had a build similar to his own showed that. It was impressive how fit she was, her flexing did show off more muscle and it was adorable. However, he could respect that she had put the work in and was more than comfortable showing that off. All thoughts were halted at her next sentence though, and just the words with the way they were spoken caused a bit of a shut down for a moment. There was no denying that that statement caught him off guard, that was not something that you heard everyday.
She was good, that one comment just left him utterly speechless for a few moments, unable to think of what to even respond to that. The only thing that was going through his brain was 'damn' in the best possible meaning. When she returned the thanks to him, he snapped out of his stupor to look down at the warm smile on her lips. There were a few thoughts swimming through his mind as they found themselves at the teppanyaki restaurant.
“I don't know if that would be possible, though I can't seem to take my eyes off you anyway,” while that was flirtatious, it was also the truth. While the chef was visible out of the corner of his eye, his focus was largely on Yasuko, something about her and tonight just seemed to feel right. If there was anything else really going on, it wasn't big enough to take his attention from her. He wasn't going to jump to conclusions about what it was, but there was definitely one thing that he wanted to do, preferably sooner than later. Though, there was something to know beforehand.
“Yeah, haven't been here long, and I have for sure found someone fun,” he smirked, if there was one thing that had the biggest impact on him this week it was her. Tonight was one of the best nights that he'd had so far, and he was looking forward to seeing what else this place had to offer.”I do have a small question. What is the general acceptance of public displays of affection? Also, what are yours?” he was wondering just how much trouble he might cause with what he was looking to do. The second question was a bit more directed at how she would react if he were to do something.

She was going to have to take him to a batting cage one day to show off. Although, with Drake's body he'd probably put one of her home runs to shame. Yasu decided to save the idea for the future as her mind became preoccupied with the present.
"Is that so?" asked the woman playfully as her own magenta eyes stared back into Drake's blue gaze. "Good. Look away and you might miss something!" The joke was underlined with a bold grin and a wink. The man's following questions made her chuckle, and she shrugged as she rolled her eyes.
"Japan's a bit of a downer there, sadly. The culture here is emotionally reserved, so you don't really see much PDA outside of holding hands and hugging. You," she said pointedly as she glanced back at Drake, "..are an exception, however. Foreigners aren't really expected to follow that norm."
A mischievous smirk tugged at her lips as she wondered why he had asked.
"And to be honest, I've never really cared for those kinds of stingy rules, either. Passion is exciting to me. How can anyone even want to hide that kind of genuine emotion?" Yasu leaned over in her seat and placed a hand over Drake's, her fingers giving him a light squeeze as she did so. The impish look in her eyes perfectly complimented her cheeky smile.
"So tell me, Drake. What kind of honest, taboo breaking fun is lurking behind those handsome blues I'm staring at right now?"

“It is.” he responded, though she made a joke of looking away and missing something. A smirk was his own initial response,”Well I wouldn't want to miss a thing about you.” He kept his gaze fixed to hers for a moment, they were still amazing, like little, natural spinel gems. It wasn't until she started to explain things that she focused on the whole once more.
“Is that so? That's disappointing to hear, but if as a foreigner I'm not held to the same standard that is definitely a good thing,” it meant he could be a bit more bold himself. Still, he thought it was strange that they were emotionally reserved like that. Though he tossed it to cultural differences, but he was still thankful he was not bound by that. When she answered for herself, there was a mischievous smirk now taking place, which would seem to be followed by some good news.
“Well, that is good news as well, I have to say that I agree. Hiding emotions was never really a strong suit of mine and I never saw the point of it. This is good news,” he answered with his own smirk. Watching as she placed her hand on his and squeezed, he gently squeezed her fingers in return. Her actions and the way she was looking at him were very enticing already and he figured that with the answer he had received it was better to just see what happened.
“I'm more of a show than tell type of guy,” he explained. With that he reached with his free hand to lift her chin gently before leaning close to lightly press his lips to hers. He didn't know what it was, but he felt that he needed to kiss her at least once tonight. While he was a better to ask forgiveness than permission type of man, he figured starting with a soft kiss would be better to gauge her reaction.

Drake seemed to take the good news rather well, and she was glad to hear it. While she certainly wasn't the most lawfully abiding citizen Yasu appreciated honesty from the heart. The fact that he squeezed her hand in return was a small, but telling gesture. Drake mentioned being more of a 'show than tell' kinda guy, and she could readily appreciate that notion as well.
Even if she wasn't a schoolgirl anymore Yasu could feel her heart quicken a little as Drake's hand softly tilted her head up. She didn't resist the movement, and kept on staring back in anticipation into those blue eyes. When their lips met she didn't resist, either. Instead she returned the gesture of affection as her eyes closed, and leaned into the kiss as well. She held the moment for a few long seconds before pulling back.
"For a show-kinda-guy you don't disappoint, Drake." The woman snickered as a wide grin appeared on her face. It looked like he was emboldened by her answers regarding Japan's views on PDA. It wasn't hard to tell that she liked that kind of brazen affection, though. She wasn't a high school girl tender footing around confusing emotions anymore. Yasu gave Drake's hand another squeeze.
"A guy like you must have broken a lot of hearts crossing an ocean to get here. Almost makes me jealous, even. That does make me wonder, though: how long do I have you for?" Still holding onto the man's hand she laced her fingers between his to get a better grasp. "Are you just passing through, or looking for a special reason to stay?"

How could he not be happy with the fact that he had more leeway to express how he was feeling. Even better was that Yasuko herself was one to not be reserved like most people in Japan. That simply helped him push through his own hesitations about the situation and push forward. With their hands together, it seemed like the perfect moment to make his move.
Boy, was it ever the right moment, as it seemed she wasn't pulling away from his touch. Even better was she was good with him kissing her, and even returned the gesture, their lips locked for an enjoyable moment in time. There was nothing that could bring down his mood now, but man, those lips of hers were incredible to kiss. Even though they just kissed the urge to do so again was there now, and it was difficult to push it out of his mind for the moment.
“I do try my best, especially when it's worth it,” he grinned as well, he was truly happy and enjoying himself today. Being a stranger in a new land wasn't so bad if it let him do things like that more often. Though it seemed his racing was heart a bit...wait, his heart was racing a bit, boy her kissing back really played a number on him. It was amazing, that's the simplest and best statement for it. Then she asked about him having left broken hearts on his way here.
“I won't lie, there were a few people that I dated over the years. Let me tell you though, you have no reason to be jealous. I can say this without any restrictions, you are the best date I've had,” he gave her hand a reaffirming squeeze as her fingers locked with his, he was going nowhere right now. Then she asked about his plans, if he was passing through or looking for a special reason to stay. Thinking about it, he was just traveling around without any real direction, but ever since coming to Japan, that seemed to have changed dramatically.
“I was initially passing through, but when I arrived I received something that extended the trip,” he started, trying to be vague as he wasn't sure how much she knew herself. If she was a civilian it would be bad to reveal things, but he wanted to make sure she understood his stance now. “I didn't realize I was looking for a special reason to stay, but if it's not too forward for me to say, I may have found one tonight. So to answer your question, you have me as long as you want me.”
He tried not to be too brash with what he said, but so far as he could tell, it was how he genuinely felt and he always chose honesty.
