Kotemon stood in the sand whilst the digimon watched the tamer scuba. Gasping for air, Duffer turned to look at his companion as he arose to the surface. "Come on! The water's nice! It's not like you've never swam before! Besides, that helmet's probably getting really hot right now!"
"It is because I have never swam before. If you recall I was just born this month and yet I'm the one who's sensible."
"You're just grumpy!"
"You're enjoying yourself too much. If you would remember the reason I brought you out here was to learn meditation, but now you're flailing in the water like a dying gomamon, have spent our food budget on a snorkel, and harass beachgoers. I have half a mind to drag you back to the human world and lock you in the women's locker room."
"You drug me out of school in the first place!" He countered, adjusting his equipment. "Besides! I've found all sorts of cool things!" He carefully went ashore and spilled a bucket of assorted objects in front of Kotemon, at which the two dug through.
"You found... your digivice, a button, a broken watch, two coins, a shell, a dead crab, a soda can, a glass bottle, a bandage, a battered pair of goggles, your wallet, a keychain, the bucket itself, and half of a lollipop." The human frowned as he looked over his loot, scratching his head.
"They looked more valuable when they were underwater." Kotemon, grabbing the Digivice, Wallet, and coins, also grabbed his companion by the ear and began dragging him away. "OwowowowOW!" After a while, the Digimon sat down on the beach, giving a deep breath.
"Your schools, either in America or in Japan, didn't teach you anything worthwhile, young Fred. You're still an idiot with the attention span of a gnat and a weight problem of a buffalo. I keep telling you this, and at this point I wonder why I do... so I will try and teach you a basic, but difficult lesson in patience... Sit here... do not move, do not talk, do not look around, do not do anything but sit and breath. Once you do that then we can return to your "human world" and work on this "world history" nonsense your teachers are pushing on you." As he let his tamer sit on the beach, Kotemon would be keeping watch patiently... unless Duffer moved, which was quickly responded by a training sword across the back.

It's been a while since I've written anything here... Not that I was good anyway... But please bear with me~ Oh yes, the beach. Majin would often hang out on such areas, either that or any other wilderness of the Digital World - he wasn't too keen on hanging around the big cities for too long. Being there for too long was... Inconvenient. Despite his discreteness when handling his business, there were a few tamers here and there that knew of his shadier dealings. Not that they could take him on. He smirked at the thought as he looked at a palm tree nearby. The wind blew softly, it seemed like a perfect day to relax, sit back and have a few cold ones. A few dozen. The white-haired tamer was at around his ninth beer, still pretty sober but pretty relaxed already. Sitting next to him, Shadow was still debating which form to spend the day in. BlackWizardmon seemed like an awkward form to be in the intense sunlight. He could probably use his BlackMagnamon form... Maybe take his armor off... "Yo, just take off your robe. It's no big deal... Or are you embarrased? the tamer said, giving his digimon a quickl glance while he chugged another one down. He guessed he needed to take his own clothes off to help his bud, so he did - he took out his shirt and pants, he had some beach pants under those, of course. After a moment pf hesitation, the magician shrugged silently and took the robe off. He had kiddie beach pants on. ... The pair burst out laughing for a moment before their eyes inadvertedly fell upon the duo standing near them. "Training huh?" the human said, as his digimon floated up and sat on the edge of the table, setting his sights on the pair, and beyond them, the beautiful beach. Majin fondly remembered the struggle... They were beyond that now, but somehow... Things seemed more interesting back then.

Duffer tried to turn around but was struck by his digimon's training sword. "Stay silent, I'll deal with them..." Kotemon grabbed the phrasebook from a nearby bag and began thumbing through it.
"You don't know how to read..."
"Neither do you, but you seem to use this just fine." Kotemon said, looking at the book closely. Clearing its throat, he began the translation trainwreck. <Hello...> An awkward silence followed as it soon became clear that that was all Kotemon could read in this book. <Two train, for fight not. Peace yes, hope, or we kick asses.> After another awkward silence, Kotemon dropped the book.
"OK, nevermind... Listen. I'm Kotemon, this is my student; Fredrick Duffy. He is an idiot. I am working on changing that." Duffer looked unhappy that he was being called such when he was sitting RIGHT THERE. "I am training him in matters of personal importance. I'm sure that if the human teachers of his world were as smart and cared about him as much as I did, they would understand that meditation would be a better lesson than any "Math" class."

Shadow kept his steady gaze upon the approaching creature, while Majin had already lowered his head a bit - only to put on some shades, the sun's glare was bothering him. He held an almost empty can between his fingers, as the digimon's shadow crawled up to them. First, the Kotemon said hello... In Japanese. Did Majin even look Japanese? Not that the digimon would know, probably. The white-haired tamer's understanding of Japanese was minimal - he was fluent in both English and Spanish, since he lived in countries were they spoke those. But Japanese... Man, it was one tough shell to crack. And spending most of his time in the Digital World didn't help either. The awkwardness continued, prompting Majin to facepalm... Until he heard the 'kick asses' part. He lifted his head, eyebrow raised at the Kotemon. Was he threatening them? Or was his mangled Japanese at fault? His ensuing introduction in English seemed to confirm his mild arrogance. Majin simply took a quick glance at Shadow, and smirked. "Math is an important subject in our world. But I'm sure it's significance escapes you." he told the Kotemon, calmly crushing the beer can in his hand. He then threw it up - the magician digimon sitting next to him sniped it out of the air with a quick jolt of electricity shooting out of his finger. Sorry for the wait. [/b]

Kotemon rolled its eyes, unimpressed. "I'm sorry, was that supposed to startle me? Because it didn't work... at all." Duffer took this opportunity to get the upper hand on his digital companion, removing Ketomon's training sword and proceeding to bang on his companion's helmet like a drum before tossing the false blade aside.
"Yeah, I'm a real idiot. I wonder whose fault that is for making me skip school all the time." He pushed the dizzied Kotemon aside and offered his hand to Majin. "Fredrick Duffy, but most call me Duffer. That's Kotemon, he's only a little over a month old but thinks he's the best thing on god's green earth... but yeah, math is pretty stupid. What's up? ...I assume that's your digimon?" He asked, clearly unimpressed with Shadow's beachwear.

Kotemon's eyeroll further annoyed Majin. He lifted his head further, frowning. To think, he could wipe these two off the surface of the Digital World in an instant... But then Kotemon's partner calmed things down a bit and dragged his digimon to the back.
He meant to shake Majin's hand in a seemingly friendly manner, but one thing stuck on the white-haired tamer's mind; 'math is stupid'. It was to be expected. I mean, he looked really young. He too, thought math was irrelevant in his life. Until he grew up. You wouldn't know how useful it was until you needed such a thing to guarantee your well-being.
Still, he shook the kid's hand with a firm grip, his shades coming down a bit to reveal his red eyes.
"Ignorance is bliss, I suppose." the tamer said, later shrugging. "The name's Majin. That's Shadow behind me." he said, pointing behind him. The BlackWizardmon seemed as interested as the other two - meaning not a lot. He sensed Kotemon's menial power. Literally no potential. It seemed these were the consequences of such lengthy times of peace - the newer generations seemed to come in weaker.
Digimon died and unless absorbed by another, were reborn in the Village. The magician wondered who this Kotemon was in his previous life - perhaps Shadow had even crossed paths with his past self in the battlefield. Perhaps, unfortunately for the Kotemon.
One thing crossed Shadow's mind, all of a sudden. He wondered... What would he be reborn into? Would he lose all his power? What would become of his tamer? Of his friend? Would he even die? ...Hopefully not.
"Training is good, however." the human soon added. "These are peaceful times now, but I fear evil will soon show it's face once more... It always does." he told the duo, smirking to himself. He was one of many evils in this world...
But a necessary evil.

Duffer spotted the red eyes, recalling many-a-film with the villain's blood-red eyes. He gulped and backed away after the shake, giving a worried smile. "He lives up to his name, I suppose." Duffer's sufficient knowledge of horror films proved useful, knowing perfectly well not to piss this man off and try to avoid him like he was death himself. "How... how do you mean?" Duffer said, bracing himself to grab Kotemon and run. Where he'd run to was irrelevant, but hopefully he'd go to the police station and PRAY they can do something.
Kotemon, however, had another plan that started with yanking his tamer's leg out from underneath him and climbing onto his back. "Now apologies you two, but if I didn't know better I'd assume you knew something the both of us didn't." The two would notice Kotemon stood on his Tamer's head for maximum height.

Majin smirked at the kid's reaction. He had probably caught on. I mean, white hair and red eyes was an awful stereotype, wasn't it? They did look evil. In fact, they kinda were. But not so.... It's... A really complicated thing.
Kotemon's maneuver seemed to catch Shadow's attention, as he suddenly snapped back to reality thanks to the other digimon's antics. He didn't recall ever being like that with Majin - actually... He was often calm, as he was right now. Except on those times he became power hungry. Yes. Those times he killed and absorbed fellow digimon for their power...
Well, most of them wanted his own, to start with. His rampant, genocidal acts on Rustport were midly justified. But as right now, there were times when he considered the fate of those he had absorbed without much discrimination. Free from the control of darkness, those digimon may have ended up living ordinary lives, such as the ones these two led. Looking at them made him realize things could change so dramatically all of a sudden. One wrong step, one miscalculated move and it was all over. He shook himself suddenly. He could've sworn he had just glimpsed at their lifeless, mangled bodies... Truly a disturbing sight.
He discreetly scanned the area surrounding them with his Aura Sense, but failed to detect any capable lifeforms near them... What had he just seen though? Maybe his unconscious worries?
Ignoring the lack of finesse coming from the Kotemon, Majin replied. "We know a good deal. We have fought the darkness, sought out the darkness, as well as become it."
As soon as he said that, Shadow's body turned into black lightning, striking the human's frame. A small shockwave would surely push the other duo back, as energy flared up around Majin. Two pairs of shadowy wings stretched out while energy poured out of the core, a neighboring shadow revealing a nightmarish form before the wings retracted and the energy faded like a dying flame.
When it was finished, Majin stood in the same place he had just a moment ago. But Shadow was nowhere to be seen. Fortunately for the pair, Azramon had assumed a more human-looking form; no wings, no claws, no scales or tail. A shadow covered all but his head, like a bodysuit. His eyes were now slitted and with black scleras, though.
"The dark grants great power to those who manage to control it." he declared, smirking.

Duffer and Kotemon were blown back into the sand by the strike, watching the entire thing through scrambled and confused visions. As they watched this entire thing unfold, Duffer kept trying to flee, Kotemon grabbing his shorts to stop him as he watched these events unfold.
"How come you're only heavy when it's inconvenient for me?" The tamer asked, Yanking at Kotemon to try and flee from the swirling dark manifestation that was unveiling before them... and just as quickly it began, it had ended.
"...Holy s**t." Duffer said, amazed as he looked at the two. "...Did you two just... combine or something... for like, a few seconds?"
Kotemon stared at Azramon, the creature just not sitting right with the digimon.

"We are one." the Super Mega said, suddenly sounding like both Majin and Shadow at the same time. But it was just to show off - in these boring times, it was all the duo could do to keep themselves entertained. Azramon spoke mainly with Majin's voice. Oh, but how amusing it was to torment this kid.
The Kotemon seemed to stand his ground, though. The little bugger. Did he think Majin so noble as to not consider killing him? A champion attack from this range would suffice to deal a lethal wound to the Rookie. A Super Mega would rip him apart, together with the human cowering behind him, and a chunk of the landscape following him.
Setting aside the slight bit of tension, the shadow spoke.
"This is the epitome of power. Azramon. Maybe one day you too will be able to achieve it." Azramon smirked, extending his aura around the area. Unleashing his power usually attracted undesirable individuals. If only one of them was Despair and his dumbass tamer...
Azramon looked down at Kotemon. "Seems like you got a long way to go, though. But perhaps I could help."

"Let's not and say this never happened..." Duffer said, knowing a little about deals with the devil from everything he'd seen. The tamer was trying to pick up Kotemon and run. Take his friend, flee to the human world, NEVER come back to this beach again, and pray to the heavens above that it wasn't too late. That was the plan. He knew japanese horrors tend to be inescapable by design. No matter what you do, you'll eff up and murder EVERYTHING you ever loved indirectly before dying yourself, but if he's fast enough he could avoid this fate.
"We'll get far more powerful with our souls in tact, thank you." Kotemon said, struggling against being picked up by his tamer and implying some pretty bad things about them. "I thin-" Duffer, kneeing his mon in the back and picking it up while it's knocked over. "I think it's best we both leave before we say a few things we'll regret, I need to head back before dinner so my foster parents don't get upset." Duffer interrupted. "It was nice meeting you... two...?" He said with uncertainty. "But we REALLY must be going."

Damn, this was too funny! The shadow super mega tried really hard to keep his composure - otherwise, he would burst out laughing. This was enough games for today, though. Poor kid would probably become traumatized and stop coming to the digital world out of fear of encountering him again. The Kotemon didn't look like he'd fare well if his tamer abandoned him.
"Yo, don't rustle your jimmies, kid. I've no need for your soul." he said, crossing his arms and closing his eyes. Did Duffer really believe Azramon would want his soul? Why? They were far more powerful than these two. What could they gain from messing with a rookie? Kotemon's data wouldn't amount to much, actually.
He'd be tempted to slay and absorb the Royal Knights, or something along those lines. But this Kotemon... Nah.
"I was going to suggest a spar. A training session, if you want to call it that." he added. "Surely better training than that Kotemon is currently giving you. But hey if you got too scared then you're welcomed to run away." he said, waiting for a response. He was bored. He could use some exercise... Or not. Meh.

"I'm not a kid..." Kotemon mumbled, keeping a firm grasp on his helmet. Inside the mon's mind came the thought of the digimon and tamer standing head-over shoulders on the two's defeated form, laughing happily as they looked forward to the next day and the next battle. As the two would walk to battle, his tamer and he would speak flawless japanese and be heroes of the pathetic location his tamer called "school". They would ride around a- did he ask to battle? "Of course the answer would be a resounding y-"
"Hahahano, please, I really..." Duffer said, backing away. Kotemon was struggling to get out of the grasp his tamer had around its waist to no avail, having to stop every few seconds to keep its helmet in place. Grabbing his stuff, the tamer began a mad dash out of the area, taking the first trailmon out before he even slipped back into his proper clothes. [Not subtle at all thread exit!]

Azramon smirked to himself as the pair ran away. Didn't they realize, that if he wanted to, he could catch up to them near-instantly? That, even if they hopped onto the Trailmon, he could easily kill it, or kick it off course?
But well, maybe the kid was too scared to think rationally. Azramon simply cracked his knuckles and soon, the Super Mega gave off a soft, black glow as he split back into his component forms. The tamer leaned back on what remained of the table behind them, only to realize he had blown the beers away...
He sighed, before opening a portal. It was time to go.
He quickly walked into it. Shadow stayed behind for a bit, as he watched the Trailmon go off. Perhaps they would run into each other again.
[Exit]
