“Another date?! What the hell were you thinking, Mom?!” An indoors-dressed Yuko blurted out, almost dropping the plate of food that she was eating while standing in her bewilderment.
“Don’t be like that, Yuu, honey.” A gentle, maternal voice sounded from behind a lit up folding screen. “Jokah wants to see that fancy restaurant that opened downtown. My schedule is free this weekend, and I haven’t gone out in a long time, so I thought I would join him.”
The colorful-haired teen pinched the bridge of her nose. “At least the first time you dated him, you still thought he was a human. What’s your excuse this time?” She inquired.
The silhouetted figure that was changing behind the folding screen froze, visibly pointing a finger against their chin, as if thinking. “Hmmm… He is kind, he has a great sense of humor and he validates me. What more excuse do I need?” They replied.
“The only person he validates is himself. Constantly!” The punk girl countered. “Plus, he’s an asexual being from another dimension. He’s not boyfriend material! Haven’t you considered dating - oh, I don’t know - a HUMAN guy?!” She added.
“I’m going out on a date with him and that’s final!” The voice asserted in a slightly stern tone, before finally stepping out in the open…
Hana Himura took her duties as a single housewife quite seriously, and as such almost always wore plain-looking clothes and an apron to facilitate doing her daily chores. However, her current getup was nothing like that, being a deep red evening gown that accentuated her feminine beauty. Even her dark hair that was usually braided to the side in a motherly fashion had been let down, while shiny jewelry adorned her neck and wrists. The last irregularity was the presence of makeup on her face, making her look like some kind of Hollywood star on her way to the red carpet!
“How do I look?” Hana eagerly asked, doing a little twirl around herself.
“Wow… You look great and stuff.” Yuko muttered, being way too stunned momentarily to stop her dazzlingly-dressed mother from brushing past her and making her way to the front door.
“Thank you, honey! I’ll be off then! Call me if you need anything!” The older of the two women hollered, grabbing her house keys and her purse, before closing the door behind her.
“Mom, wait--” The young Tamer tried to stop her at the last second, but it was all in vain. “Hopefully Jokah won’t do anything stupid…” She sighed.
Later that evening, Hana and Jokah met just outside the restaurant, whereupon after confirming their reservation, a very serviceable staff member showed them to their table, which was located by the window, giving them a nice view of Shibuya’s ever bustling Entertainment District. It went without saying that Jokah had opted to use his Holosuit for this outing, concealing his true nature by disguising himself as a human male - namely his civilian identity known as ‘Jack White’, a tall and lean, handsome man of purportedly European descent who had pale skin and long, platinum blonde hair that covered one of his eyes. His bright purple suit that was adorned with colorful flowers and peacock feathers of all things looked egregiously flashy, even here where everyone from the patrons to the servers was dressed formally, but at least it didn’t look completely out of place.
