Tomiko was growing ever more annoyed by the second. All she got was rudeness and people not trying to help her. No matter what she did. It was just so infuriating. She could feel her face burning red with anger. If she wasn’t careful, she’ll set the table under her fingertips alight.
“Oh yeah. Well, I don’t really want your help! I’ll be perfectly fine, I’ll go to the next town all by myself and I don’t need any assistance. Then we will see who walks down the easy road and who doesn’t. I’ll be perfectly, absolutely, without a doubt fine.”
She stood up with imperial fury. A look that could kill and no more patience remaining. “Hey you, dumb dumb. Follow me or get lost. I don’t really care which at this point.” She shouted so loudly that many other patrons of around the town had turned their heads to look across at Tomiko, the odd creature who was her partner as well as Kai and his partner.
“Plus, for your information. I will insult exactly whoever too if it gets me out of this ridiculous place faster and back to civilization. Which is where I belong. I don’t want to be in this crazy Narnia-nonsense-land anymore. It’s the worst place I have ever been in my whole entire life.”
Many more faces had turned to look at Tomiko who had by now gone red in the face. “I will find my own way.”
“Dame da?” Sukasimon said, his head tilting a little. A look of almost concern cutting across his odd ghostly puppet face. “Dame da?”
“Yes, I know. Calm. Peace. You care about me, I get it,” Tomiko said. Not realizing that for the first time she had understood Sukasimon’s singular speech pattern as if it had been spoken in clear Japanese.
