Kai and Tera were sitting outside at a picnic table in the corner around several food trucks and stall that were placed around for a fast outdoor eating, like an outdoor food court. The two were taking a moment to rest and regain strength. Kai was eating what appeared to be a Chicken Caesar Wrap and had a box of onion rings on the side, drinking grape juice along with it. Tera was chowing down on a rather large bowl of beef ramen hands free as the Pteranomon's form did naturally make using her claws to feed herself quite difficult. After getting into Rosewood and settling down, Kai and Tera were both able to agree that they would need to resstore their energy and heal a bit from their respective wounds before they could be able to set course out towards Terminus. At this point Kai was mellowed out and her normal calm and collected self as she would handle seeing Digimon and even a few humans as normal as she started to understand the nature of her new reality. She knew there was little she could do to change her situation completely so she accepted the fact she was now an Xros General and had to move forward. Kai would be wearing her Xros Loader on her left wrist, at the moment it was attached by a wrist mount to the underside of her arm. She fidgeted slightly as she was adjusting her posture, sitting at one end of the table while Tera was on the other side a bit off to the side as she was trying to avoid getting splashed if Tera ate too messy. Rosewood City, which lay near to the forest that she had quite literally crashed into. A bustling metropolis for the strange monsters known as Digimon. Although, Tomiko had absolutely no wish to spend anymore time in this or any other locale of the Digital World. She stomped down the street, trying to avoid the definite looks that she was getting from strange creatures. Closely behind her, floating ominously just above the road. Looking like a child had eaten a bunch of crayons and then thrown up. The strangest creature of all. Tomiko let out a low growl of irritation. One that like an angered lion, would indicate that to make any sudden moves would end in a vicious mauling . “Just leave me alone! You might have helped me once already, but I don’t need your help now. Just go and do whatever weirdo monsters do, alright?”“Dame da?” The strange monster said, pausing. It’s large blank eyes focusing on Tomiko, who was slowly growing redder, by the second. Her fangs now bared. “Leave me alone!”She grabbed the odd device that had appeared and threw it at the ghost-like Sukasimon. It landed at the ripped fabric body of the creature. With this done, Tomiko turned tail and walked in the opposite direction. Leaving the digimon to float in place, sadly. “Now, how do I get out of his dump,” she snarled, still quite red-faced. Soon enough, she had arrived in an open food court-like area. If anything, it was relatively human in design. So this was at least a step in the right direction.
“I am hungry. I guess that it’d be easier to find a way out of his hole… with a full stomach.”

Kai thought she heard a familiar voice yell in the distance but she didn't react immediately as she did not want to accidentally get in the midst of affairs while she was eating. However she kept her eyes glancing in the direction of the source frequently in case there would be something to handle. However as if history decided to repeat itself, Kai would soon find a familiar sight in a girl she hadn't seen in a while.
"I haven't seen her since she was just over 13, but that's definitely her. Haven't seen her since the fundraiser gala for the hospital's new machines. Well not true, I have seen her around school a bit but I haven't actually exchanged words with her since then- Wait have we ever talked? Eh no time to sort out the little things." She thought before she would casually wave towards the girl. She had a feeling that Nobutada was also quite new to the world and just having a tough time with her eyes being opened to a new reality.
She never really had any issues per say with the girl, mostly cause she was usually too busy with her own stuff being a big part of the Mock Court club and a leading track member outside of her studies to interact with most people. However she didn't know how the girl would perceive Kai, as from what Kai knew, the other girl was the sort to make their opinion quite clear and would be easily annoyed by things. "Hey Nobutada, over here." She waved over before her Digimon saw who she was talking to.
Tera gulped a bit as she got nervous as she would size up the girl before whispering to Kai. "Why did you invite over the chick who was clearly about to blow up over?" She whispered before Kai brushed her off. "Trust me, she's just had a rough hand, she's fine once she's not cranky or by friends." She said before Tera started to wonder and whisper again. "Something tells me the latter doesn't apply to you." Tera said greatly concerned that Kai didn't respond to that comment.

Hoping to find something good to eat, Tomiko charged across the food court. Almost knocking another Digimon aside in her growing irritation and desire for a good lunch. The blue penguin dropped its tray of, what she assumed was, fish to the ground and then began to wave its feathered arm after Tomiko in annoyance. Ignoring all of this, she continued on.
The sound of her own surname caused her to jump slightly. Forgetting for a second about her rumbling stomach. Tomiko turned her head to one side, trying to figure out where the voice had come from.
Eventually, she picked the face out of the crowd. A human girl, around the same age as her. Black hair fell down her back. “Oh great. I think I’d rather have the angry penguin crying at me,” she muttered, far too loudly than was necessary. Although it had been intended for Sukasimon, the strange pastel ghost was hovering above the fallen tray of food and looking down at the scene with a look of bemused confusion. "Dame da?"
“What is it. I’m not in the mood to suffer for anyone right now.” A visible vein pulsing on her forehead. Sukasimon had now finally caught up and was now watching the scene from over Tomiko’s shoulder. Something long and purple was lying upon her shoulder “Take two steps back, or lose the tongue.”
Then, her eyes squinting as recollection caught up with her senses and overrode her hunger. “I know you from somewhere.” She pressed a finger to her chin as she considered. “I definitely know you.”

"Yep, definitely her." Kai muttered as she saw what the other girl did to the poor penguin Digimon who was trying to get a decent meal. However she did see the Digimon that was trying to be close her, and how the poor Sukasimon was being giving the cold shoulder. Kai would let Tomiko approach her, and she simply offered the girl her onion rings.
"Eat. You're in a hypoglycemic rage. It's not doing anyone any favors." She said bluntly as she knew it was pointless to fight fire with fire as she was extending out a lifeline to the girl to save face in public. "Also our fathers were, acquainted before mine got locked up. I'm Kai Aizawa. We have met a few times at hospital fundraisers and a few dinner parties." Kai said as she was explaining where the two girls would have seen eachother before.
Kai would scan over the Digimon before finding how it moves familiar, as did Tera. Tera scanned over the other girl and started to count her blessings that she was paired with Kai. "Seems you're quite new to this world as well. Still having a rough time adjusting to a new reality or do you just need something to eat?" The Pteranomon-X offered as she was trying to keep things nice, worried about setting off the girl who was already on the edge. "Oh I'm Tera by the way." She said trying to be polite.

Grumbling to herself, she sat down in the seat furthest away from Sukasimon as possible. “If I must.” Tomiko began to shovel the onion rings into her mouth with immoderate manners. Most of her following words became slightly muffled under the amount of food that she was shovelling into her mouth.
“Oh, that’s right. You’re the daughter of someone important, formally. It all went south. A shame, my father always spoke highly of your family...” She paused and then took a look over at the girl. The final onion ring hovering, uneaten.
“I'm still mostly in the dark about anything in this place. But, it seems like an odd coincidence we are both in this... dump.” Her eyes flickered nastily over to Sukasimon who’s long tongue was reaching out, like an extra limb, towards the uneaten onion ring. “Don’t you even think about it.” The long tongue retracted quickly and Tomiko continued on.
“Yeah, I’m new to this world. I fell into the woods over there. I was almost instantly attacked by an idiot knight and then this thing appeared.” She nodded her head towards the puppet-like Digimon at her side. Tomiko completely ignored the part about this odd jet-plane, dinosaur thing having a name.
“What about you? Did you have to deal with some wacky nonsense, also. Is that just how this place works? You go from one terrible thing to another. Until you die.”

"And here I thought we had a rough relationship. Sukaimon aren't exactly Angewomon but damn, they really don't deserve that." Tera said to Kai as she observed how the other girl and her Digimon seemed to not be on the same page at all. Kai was brushing off Tera's comment for the most part. Kai could tell that Tomiko had been through much more drama and danger then she ever had in her life. Kai knew that not everyone would have her resilience and adaptability, she survived ginormous amounts of pressure and was able to come out on top.
She was sympathetic to Tomiko, but she knew that the girl would need a bit of a dash of cold water. However Kai decided to be as gentle about the matter at first.
"Sounds like you had it a bit easier then me to be honest. I fell 20 feet into the swamp, got soaked four times, and I was dragged in from school and had to walk for hours well beyond calf deep in water before someone with an act of kindness escorted me and Tera out and towards this city, Rosewood." Kai explained as she was trying to show that it was not just Tomiko having a rough time, some potentially worse then her.
"But yeah. The worst part of the Bayou was that shortly after Tera and I met, we encountered a, Tanamon that was trying to avoid being devoured by a Jungle Mojyamon. For reference that's like a small plant critter and a weirdly round ape creature respectively. We nearly got it off our trail, but the place we were hiding, had a strange gear that glowed brightly adn gave us away. I had to convince Tera here to be able to willing to fuse instead of Digivolve in a life or death situation, but the other Digimon, Tanemon, refused cause she was from an Orthodox faith so as a last resort I fused Tera with the gear so she could go toe to toe with the Mojyamon so none of us would die." She said before she realizied she may have skipped over a few details.
"Oh right, you may or may not be aware of Digivolution yet, the process in which Digimon metamorph, or change forms into certain tiers. Apparently humans that get paired with Digimon, like me and Tera, or you and, Sukaimon over there, have two types of partnerships. If you have a device like mine." She said holding up her pristine dark purple Fusion Loader still on the underside of her wrist. "It means you'd be something called an Xros General where you can fuse Digimon with other Digimon or some stuff to create more powerful Digimon, or if you have one of the other types, means you can help along the process to Digivolve, to help a Digimon metamorph into a higher level."

Honestly, Tomiko was hardly listening to the sob story the girl was spilling off. She had one hand pressed against her cheek, the other leaning against the top of the table. Most of what she was saying was going right over her head. Although, that was mostly because she barely understood anything that was being sad. Even with the odd pieces of reference added in. Most of this nonsense was, well, just that. Nonsense. Plain and simple. “Digivolution?” Tomiko said, finally speaking up and taking some interest. Although the explanation of this process made so little sense. Again, it went right over her head. “You mean I can take ugly over there and fuse it with something and just maybe, get something not repugnant out of the deal? Because, I’m not sure that is a possibility.”Tomiko pointed a finger at the odd puppet-like creature that was standing at her side. It’s head slightly tilted to one side. Blank staring eyes. A color palette that offends the eyes and the fact it only seemed to know two words. Two words which translated out to something like, ‘it is useless.’ Which, honestly only summed up this Digimon. “This thing is driving me crazy. I just wanna swap it out for a better model. You know like a car. After so long you trade-up for something a bit more flashy. Like a sports-car. Maybe, a convertible. A nice paint job. Not every color under the sun.”Oddly, though, Sukasimon didn’t seem to mind this verbal abuse at all. It continued to stand at her side, no matter what she said or did, which honestly, made it even more annoying. After a moment of pause, Tomiko’s eyes flitted over to the creature that was with Kai. A steel-bird creature or something. Was it a robot, or what? Did it run on gas, like a car? This world opened up a lot of odd questions. Finally, her eyes flicked back over to Kai. “So, you say you fuse these things into bigger better things, right? A higher level, was it? Show me?”

"Yeah, I checked, turns out some form of fate picks your Digimon partner, I mean you can ditch them but they'd still be fate connected and in this world you might as well jump off a cliff without your partner as you'd have to carefully find someone to stick with for directions and protection. Sorry, there's no redraw. Best you can do is fuse them with someone else later on to something more to your liking." She said as she tried to explain to Tomiko that there was no way to alter that type of paring.
However the subject of showing a fusion was not going to be a comfortable one as Kai glanced at Tera for a moment, who shrugged with her wings and Kai nodded. "Normal Fusion requires two Digimon under an Xros General, in this case the human with the Xros Loader. However, Kai and I, are just us at the moment. However we have a workaround. Stored in her Fusion Loader is, an object with energy and a DNA sample that can be fused with me to create a mostly stable but incomplete fusion. It's stronger then me now, but it's really painful for me, like you could stab me in the eye with a burning rod and twist and I'd say it hurts less." Tera said she hovered back from the table.
Kai would hold up her Xros Loader, and dial Tera and the gear, before a light shot out of the device and into Tera as she would grow in size, her claws were forced backward as thrusters were extended, and black line patterns across the top and bottom side, that were flashing red or orange. "Pteranomon: Phantom Blaze..." She said in pain as one of her eyes was blinking black. She flew about for the moment before she would defuse on her own and return to the table.
"Unfortunately it only looked like that glitching mess because there wasn't an actual Digimon to fuse with, so the fusion was incomplete and couldn't fully materialize." She explained a bit more hoping that would sate the girl's curiosity.

“Well, that is the worst possible news you could have given me,” Tomiko said, grumbling to herself. Everything in her life had begun to go wrong as soon as she had entered this backwards, utterly insane world of monsters. Monsters can could be defined as either really impressive, or really crazy. Sukasimon was defined as neither of them. It was just aggravating, annoying and played onto her growing suspicion that this world was screwing with her.
Although, this ‘fusion’ thing proved an interesting subject. Most of what Tera said was gibber-jabber. More of the bizarre nonsense that these monster seemed to spit out. Somehow, it made sense to them. Her face definitely showed her disgust and annoyance with this endless nonsense.
“Just speak plainly. Will you?” Tomiko leaned her hand against her cheek, sighed ever so loudly and tapped her fingers against the table-top. Then, her partner stepped backwards. Kai held up the Xros Loader and began to move the dial on the front.
With a flash of light, Tera began to change. Her body grew larger as did the thruster-like pieces. The overall effect was... less terrible than she had expected. Of course, she had brushed off the part out how much it hurt to do...blah-blah-blah. They’re just dumb little monsters anyway...
“I guess, that was actually fairly impressive.” Tomiko turned her head immediately to Sukasimon. Her eyes inches away from the large blank white eyes. “So, can you do that. Dumb dumb. Or are you just as useless as I think?” Sukasimon merely looked on. Gormless, tongue lulling out. Like it didn’t have a single thought running through his tiny mind. After a second of waiting, Sukasimon opened its mouth and said simply...
“Dame da?”

"From what I understand, not all Digimon are capable of speaking. A majority can, bot intelligence is not necessarily linked to one form of communication." Kai said as she would try to interpret the Sukasimon's actions as some alternative expressive form of communication. "Could be he's been choking on something for a while. Wouldn't know, don't see many Sukasimon around." Tera commented as she would recall very few encounters with the type of Digimon. She would shrug off the thoughts as she would try to figure out the nature of the Sukasimon.
"However, it's not them that does the Fusion thing Nobutada. It's us, the Xros Generals with the Xros Loader. They're our Digivices. We fuse our partner Digimon with other partnered Digimon, or certain substitutes if they can be found." Kai said reattaching her Xros Loader to the underside of her wrist. "Other Digimon preferred." Tera commented on the matter before she continued to eat from her large bowl of ramen. Kai could sense there was definitely a gap between Tomiko and her partner, knowing that it could be a problem. She was not sure if Sukaimon was either incredibly patient, or if he perhaps liked the mocking, she had a bad feeling about the instability of their relationship.
"Also, word of advice, Sukasimon is probably your main line of protection from the dangers of this world. They deserve a little respect. Though if I were you I'd be concerned for their health. I think they may be aphasic if Digimon can even be effected like that." She said showing more concern for the Digimon then its own general. "A what-ic?" Tera asked a bit confused at the strange term Kai brought up casually.
"Something I had to deal with during a mock trial. It means when the subject has issues communication, either receiving or sending. Mostly it's sending, so you can think you're saying, 'hey, I'm right here', but it comes out incoherently." She explained a bit more. "So he could be saying 'I want to profess my undying and eternal love to you and let me worship the ground you walk on', and it could come out as 'dame da'?" She asked as it did sound a bit crazy to her at first but after saying it out loud she did find it more believable. "Pretty much, in most cases you can't get more then simple answers out of aphasic cases, like a direction, a nod yes or no, something like that."

Tomiko couldn’t help but frown. Her annoyance and patience were being heavily tested once more. Kai and her weirdo partner wouldn’t shut up about her own ‘partner’. The stupid Sukasimon that wouldn’t leave her the heck alone. Definitely some kind of divine prank by a greater being than them all. Not that she really believed in such a thing. However, it would explain a few things about the past day or two. She leaned on her hand, barely listening to their conversation. The fact that Sukasimon was her ‘first line of defense’ wasn’t exactly a through that filled her full of confidence. Especially when she considered the freaky creatures, she had already met. Nor did she care about the fact that Sukasimon’s speech problems like being something wrong with it. It was quite clear that nothing was happening up there. No gears were moving in that ghostly head of it. Its loyalty, aside, Tomiko was surprised that it even had enough brain-power to differentiate between friend and foe. “So,” Tomiko said, cutting through the conversation, like a hot knife through butter. “How long have you been here?”Maybe, it was better that she gather some more information on this world. That might help her with her new goal. Getting out of here as fast as she could and leaving the nitwit behind. That seemed like the best course of action. “Actually... I’d like to know, how long you’ve been here. How you got here, and I’d like every drop of information you have on how to get out of here.” Her eyes were now firmly focused on the girl opposite her. A fiery look of newfound focus across her face. Meanwhile, Sukasimon was merely looking at Tomiko with large blank unseeing eyes. Although, maybe with a tiny hint of growing sadness. Not that Tomiko noticed or cared about any of that.

"This woman is so self serving it's honestly a miracle she is even alive at all in this world." Kai thought as she analyzed the behavior of the woman, Kai wasn't exactly happy to be here against her will either but she wasn't taking her anger out on anyone and everything. Tomiko's fierce expression, hot as fire, would be met with Kai's calm yet partially cold eyes, arm one arm on the table as her posture was lax. She let Tomiko have her moment as she waited till there was an actual pause for her to be able to answer the load of questions being shot at her.
"Been here the better part of a day and a half, I was in school late one night after a mock trial cleaning up when the power went out and lights from monitors led me to the computer lab where I got sucked into a portal that opened beneath my feet and I trekked out of the Bayou to get here." She answered briefly, figuring that Tomiko wouldn't be too keen on listening to everything word for word. She had half a mind to just withhold the information on how to escape until the girl shown some humility, but after weighing the decision carefully she decided that she was given the information freely so it would not be right to withhold it from any other human in this instance.
"Getting out is simple, relatively speaking, and possibly quite easy if you listen carefully, no half assing anything. You gotta board a Trailmon, one of the Train Digimon, and go to Terminus City, the capital of the Digital World. At the terminal station, you'll find one that is headed for the station's counterpart in our world. From what I'm told, it'll emerge in Shibuya Train Terminal." Kai tried to explain everything so that Tomiko would know how to leave the Digital World and Return.
"Good luck, the trains from Rosewood to Terminus are usually packed. That's why I plan on flying us back. Only room for me and Kai without tripling the number of stops, sorry." Tera said exaggerating the number as it was in truth only doubling, but she really did not want to do something so nice for the ungrateful girl before her.

Tomiko continued to tap her fingers against the table top as she watched her questions be answered one-by-one. Although, none of the answers she received really filled her with much hope nor happiness.
“There is a Train Digimon? That is the most stupid thing I ever heard of. How can that one even exist,” she shot across the table, interrupting finally. The sheer thought of something as daft as that made her even more annoying than ever before.
“I know I can get rid of this thing, easily. I already tried to throw this stupid device away and it just appeared again. I assume it’s the same. But maybe I can ditch it when I leave for my own world. Or something like that.” Tomiko shrugged, in an uninterested sort of way.
With all her questions answered and with no more interest in this conversation, Tomiko rose from the table. “Well, that is as idiotic as anything else here. Move it, stupid, we’re going to find a train. Even if I have to walk to wherever that is.” Tomiko said. Turning her back on Kai and her partner and started to walk away in a hoity sort of manner.
“Oh and thanks for the help. I’ll hope we don’t meet again. At least not in this dump.” After a second, Sukasimon rose too, floating inches above the table’s seat. Turned to look at Tomiko and then slowly to look at the pair, they were leaving behind. It’s large blank eyes focusing in on the pair, head slightly tilted to one side. It was almost as if it was apologizing for her attitude and behavior. Then finally, it followed her as she wandered jauntily away.

"We'll walk you to the station. This world operates under different laws of physics. Digimon bodies are really just their versions of souls in a body that's mostly various elements coalesced into viable forms. Train based Digimon exist, besides, you sat at a table with a fighter jet dinosaur, but a train with eyes is where the line is?" Kai said as stood up, at this point Tera didn't even to hear a word from her to understand what Kai was going for. She said as she was getting up to follow Tomiko and her Digimon.
"As for next time, odds are we'd meet in the human world and things would go back to normal, I'd just be some fleck in your perception that you pass by or hear about, 'the pretty nerd' or something." She said downplaying herself as she was wondering if she was feeling she was hitting how the other girl typically perceives her and a few others. "Nobudta, I don't understand you. Someone like you has been getting nothing but easy roads their whole life, relatively speaking, which in part may be why you're so ungrateful, even when you're thrown a wild card to end all wild cards and offered aid without anything in return you still can't show any degree of humility." She said as she was honestly disturbed by the fact she literally gave the girl food and directions.
"Yeah, you could've just as easily turned up in the Western area, the major cities there aren't typically equipped for humans and the heated climate's harsh. Or someone as, casually dressed as you would freeze to death in the north. Not to mention the way you insult my world, honestly, Kai called this world a hellscape for humans but at least she had the decency to respect that it is home to our native kin." Tera said as she was chiming in, flying beside Kai.
"As strange as this world is, you can't go around insulting people. Think of it like going to one of the Western Continents of our world, would you go around insulting the westerner's for their appearances? Everyone is just what they are, trying to get by. " She said as she would inform the other girl that it was not going to be easy for her. "But on the plus side, to get home, all you need is to ride a train and get to a terminal all without insulting someone so bad you get thrown off a train."
"There a betting pool for that? My money is halfway through the Mainframe Hills, into a wet ditch." Tera piped up as she had her own theory about that. "Should be about ten minutes."
