Well, after a few more training sessions with Ciel and a bit more fighting under their belt Alpha and Beta had to admit, they were getting more and more control over their new forms, even being able to switch between the forms on the fly. They still weren't at the level they wanted to be at, nor were they anywhere close to gaining Ultimate level, but they were getting stronger and that was enough for them at the moment. The two Hackmon walked with the Sistermon Ciel and Wizardmon, Dylas, behind them mindlessly chatting about what had happened these past few days Beta went to open the door to the house, only to find it unlocked.
Instantly as Beta noticed the oddity, she backed up slightly. "That's weird, I know I locked it?" Beta did have a photographic memory after all so when she says something like that, she means it. Quickly Ciel walked in front of Beta motioning her to step back slightly as she slowly opened the door, hand on her great sword as she looked inside the building for anything, she couldn't sense anything at the moment but better safe then sorry.
"Ahh finally, it took you all long enough to arrive, I grew tired of waiting." A voice called out from inside, a voice that sent a chill up everyone's spine, a voice they all knew far too well. A voice Alpha had heard a thousand times, a Voice Beta heard in her nightmares. It was finally time for them to confront the digimon they had been working towards fighting, sitting in their house, leg crossed over the other with his eyes closed and a smile on his face was none other then the Myotismon that had ruined their lives.
Ciel wasted absolutely no time shooting him in the face, pointing her Gunsword up she fired a blast at him with no hesitation in her stance or shot before dashing forward with the massive blade and aiming a slash downward on the digimon himself. "What are you doing in our house!" She demanded an answer as the blade swung down, only for the blast to be deflected simply by a wave of the hand forming a shield to nullify it, raising the shield up he also managed to catch her sword before it could make contact.
"Ciel, same as always. Strike first and ask questions later, We already know how this little dance of ours will go, is there truly a point in fighting me when you know you stand no chance?" He taunted with a smirk as he pushed the Sistermon back with a quick motion, using the shield to knock her away.
"Last I recall when we fought I only lost because you attempted to destroy one of these kids, I will not make the same mistake twice." Ciel raised her sword eyes narrowed completely focused on the enemy in front of her, she was quickly followed by the twins and Dylas, evolving into their Champion forms Logamon and BaoHackmon standing by her side, while they weren't as strong as her it was still four on one.
"Kids? So that's what you're calling them, interesting. Regardless I can imagine those wounds still haven't healed, defeating you would be pointless after all. That's not the reason I'm here, no the reason I'm here is because I felt the two of you should know something." Letting out a small laugh his disposition seemed to change as a smile crossed his face staring directly at Alpha. "After all, why would I want to hurt my own son?"
There was a brief pause in the air, for what was most likely seconds felt like an eternity as his words lingered in the air. Eventually the silence was broken by Beta who glanced over at her twin. "Alpha? What is he."
"It's nothing, he's just trying to mess with us that's all!" Alpha shouted at her, though it was pretty clear from even a casual glance that he was shaking. Alpha seemed to be afraid of something that was clear enough. "He's not with me, I want him defeated just as much as you Beta." Alpha tried to reassure her but was quickly caught off by the Myotismon who seemed to be smiling.
"Ha, I taught you well Alpha. Look how effortlessly you lie to your other half, the shaking is a bit much but I suppose you are still young, I'm glad though, lying to Ciel and her was something I never expected, no wonder no one I sent was able to take you two in." He said as his eyes closed lifting up his hand and beckoning something forward. From Alpha's coat something would start to rise up and float towards the Myotismon, a small scarf with a bat emblem on it. "I'm also so touched you kept this, this is my symbol after all. Dylas and Ciel can attest to that, you were so happy when you got it too, such won-"
"SHUT THE HELL UP!" Alpha cut him off dashing forward in a blind rage throwing a claw strike at him, Myotismon simply took the attack right to his chest letting the claws pierce him laughing all the while.
"Still with the temper Alpha, the second things don't go your way must you act like such a child, it's quite embarrassing you know." He simply said glancing over at Beta, who seemed to be stunned silent staring at the ground with her eyes wide. This almost made him late to dodge another attack thrown by Ciel and Dylas, retreating taking the claws out of his chest as he dodged the punch thrown by the Wizardmon and took a glancing blow from the Sistermon.
"It doesn't matter where Alpha comes from, I'm not letting you take either of them!" Ciel shouted as she threw her Great sword back where it was before in favor of punching Myotismon in the face, getting a solid hit in the digimon reeled back before grabbing her fist and pulling the Sistermon in close.
"Maybe not, but it does matter where they BOTH came from doesn't it Ciel, or have you not told them?" His voice was barely a whisper but it was enough to make Ciel's eyes widen as she kicked him in the jaw jumping away from him.
"I won't let you!" Landing on her feet Ciel used this moment to bounce forward unsheathing her Katana as she dashed towards the Myotismon, only to be stopped dead in her tracks as something below her lit up, a large magic seal on the floor appeared and Ciel instantly felt her arms and legs lock together falling to the ground.
"MOM!" Alpha and Beta both cried out rushing over to help her, standing in front of her with Dylas behind them trying to disable the seal.
Rubbing his jaw Myotismon stood back up. "Mom huh? How disgusting, though I do suppose she always had a thing for that 'Hero' so playing mom does sound like something she might do." Walking forward a bit he looked down at Alpha and Beta, both ready to fight with everything they have. Though Beta didn't seem as ready as Alpha, the words still lingering in her head as doubts creeped in while she stood next to her brother.
"Don't, Tell, Them!" Ciel shouted straining against the restraints as she tried to draw her sword, to no avail though even with Dylas helping she couldn't move any part of her body except her mouth.
"No, I think I will. As I said I came here to explain something to you two, a reason sort of speak for why I'm chasing you two down. I figured with how hard you're resisting it's best to understand something important you two." Closing his eyes Myotismon still had that smug smile on his face as he looked down upon the twins.
"Because of our dad right? You hated him and now you hate us. Simple as that!" Beta gave a small unsure nod looking up at the massive digimon, despite the hatred she felt for him and the memories of what he did the lingering doubt prevented her movements and slowly but surely doubt gave way to fear as she recalled the looming figure staring over her many times before.
"Half correct, I did hate your 'father'. I wanted nothing more then to show him the true meaning of fear, of darkness. But he vanished before I could show him. You see your father isn't dead or gone he's currently broken, shattered into pieces. Specifically two pieces." As he said this the smile got wider and his eyes opened staring down at the two champion digimon. "Specifically two pieces that shouldn't exist, two fragments that can barely be called whole digimon. Given names merely out of formality. Two fragments that when combined form back into that 'hero' Jes. Alpha and Beta, the two halves of the red eyed hero. Shattered apart and raised as some lowly makeshift family by a women obsessed with a fake legend."
Once again, silence had covered the entire house, were it not for the noise of the sealing spell currently affecting Ciel there would be nothing else to be heard. After a few moments Alpha and Beta looked back at Ciel who seemed to have her head hung down in shame, confirming what the digimon in front of them had said. By this time both Alpha and Beta had lost what little resolve they had left, without even noticing it they both degenerated back into their rookie forms, not able to keep their prior forms up. "Ciel, Ciel please tell me he's lying. He's lying right we're, We're twins we can't be Jes." Ciel didn't respond sending Alpha into a panic. "CIEL He's lying he has to be! Ciel answer me!" The sistermon still refused to say anything, closing her eyes silently confirming what the Hackmon had thought.
"Heh, Can't even say anything. Must be hard knowing the man you love would come back should those two combined, hell the entire digital world would be better off with Jes around then a fake pair of twins. So why don't you do the world a favor and just combined already, it'll hurt for a moment but don't worry once you do it you won't feel a thing. Ever again." Myotismon still had the sinister smile on his face but was quickly faced with a resounding.
"NO." Ciel shouted as she slowly stood up despite the restraints, eyes glowing a faint blue as her Katana shined a similar color. "Alpha and Beta, deserve the chance to live like any other Digimon. I've accepted I won't see him again. I WILL DO EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO PROTECT THEM!" The bindings quickly snapped away as Ciel drew her blade. "No matter the cost." It was pretty clear that breaking the bind dealt a heavy amount of damage to her, her right arm seemed broken holding her sword with her left as she dashed forward, followed behind by Dylas the two of them smashing into the Ultimate level knocking him backwards and through the far wall.
Laying on the ground Myotismon just laughed and laughed as he slowly stood up. "I've done what I came here to do, I'm sure the two of them will make the right decision in due time. After all I already broken one of their spirits, or should I say Alpha broke her spirit. The rest will fall in due time." With a small wave as a crowd of people gathered to investigate what happened Myotismon raised his hand and vanished within a swarm of bats. Ciel made a few more slashes to try and hit him but to no avail, cursing out loud for a moment Ciel returned back into the house and went over to Alpha and Beta, bending down to check if they were alright, only to find herself being pushed away by Alpha.
"Ciel, Why. Is that why we can't DNA evolve without getting hurt, is that why so many digimon are after us! Jes isn't our dad he's, he's. Why didn't you tell us! We deserved to know Ciel!" Alpha was mad, mad hurt and confused. There was no tact to his words, no confidence or collection behind this thoughts. Just raw emotion.
"I wanted to wait until we had dealt with the immediate threat, I didn't want this looming over you two or to give you any ideas of bringing Jes back for my sake and others. I want you two to be able to create your own path in life, you two are your own digimon. You should be allowed the same chance as anyone else." Ciel tried to speak in a calm voice like normal but it was pretty clear it was a hard topic for her, and definitely one she had thought about before.
"That doesn't excuse it, we had a right to know right Beta?" Alpha looked at his sister who was currently staring at the floor for a while. "Beta?" She stirred at the second calling of her name simply asking.
"Alpha, what did he mean by you being his son?" She was still thinking about that, it was stuck in her mind and while everything else had upset her none struck as badly as those words.
"Beta, Like I said he was ly-"
"STOP LYING TO ME ALPHA!" Shouting as loud as she could Beta stared directly at Alpha with her eyes shut, voice wavering for a moment as she regained her composer. "I'm not stupid Alpha, I can tell when you're lying to me. You just really think I'm that dumb huh, that you can go and blame Ciel to try and make me forget what he said!"
"Beta, that's not. I just."
Not letting him get a word in edgewise Beta continued. "So what while I was stuck in an endless NIGHTMARE, asleep with only glimpses into the waking world. SCARE TO DEATH that once I wake up it'll all be revealed to be a dream and I'll be right back to that dark hell with no where to escape you were being raised by him! He taught you how to lie and steal didn't he!"
Alpha tried to comfort her, patting her on the shoulder like normal. "Beta, it's not like that I jus-" Before he could say anything else he was hit, hard and knocked backwards towards the open wall.
"Beta!"
"Beta that's completely out of line!"
Both Dylas and Ciel shouted at the girl but she wasn't hearing them, hands over her head she looked away crying. "Just, stay away from me Alpha. I can't, I can't look at you or Ciel right now, I'm so tired of being lied to I don't know what to think anymore, Just leave me alone." With that Beta ran out of the house.
"Beta, don't wait!" Alpha called out but he was quickly caught by Ciel who held him in place. "Let me go Ciel! I need to talk to her. Beta!" He called out but Ciel wouldn't budge.
"We're probably the last two digimon she wants to see right now Alpha, Dylas. I'm sorry to ask but could you go watch her? I'll look after Alpha for now. I doubt she wants to see me."
"Of course, I'll make sure she's safe you have my word on that Ciel." Before he left though Ciel tossed him something, one of her gauntlets.
"It's obviously not safe here so don't bring her back, take her to the Server woods, in the forest there's a hut with a digimon in it, show him that gauntlet and tell him I sent you. It'll be safe there." Dylas nodded at the instructions before walking off to find the crying Beta.
Eventually Alpha settled down sitting back on the ground rubbing the spot Beta hit him. "I messed up bad, didn't I Ciel?" Alpha asked staring at the ground.
"We both did Alpha, I'm sure Beta will forgive you she just needs time. Time heals all wounds after all." Ciel didn't fully believe what she was saying but she had to hope, it was all she had at this point. "Like I said, this place isn't safe. I know somewhere we can go though, an old friend of mine around the Valley of dragons." Glancing over at Alpha she saw something she didn't expect, the Hackmon seemed to be tearing up, doing his best not to show it. Ciel reached over and patted him on the back doing what she could to comfort the Hackmon before they left.
Meanwhile a ways away from the house Dylas managed to track down Beta, crying to herself in an old alley away from the prying eyes of other digimon. Slowly he walked over to her looking down at the rookie digimon. "Why can't I just have a regular life Dylas? First the nightmares, then the mercenaries and now this? Did I do something bad to deserve this?" She asked questions she knew he had no answers for, Dylas simply sat beside her doing what he could to comfort her knowing she didn't really want any answer he could give.
"Why did they lie? We're supposed to be family aren't we? I don't even know what a family really is!" Beta cried out with her eyes shut. Dylas simple sat there patting her on the back, staying with her until she felt better.
"I don't know Beta. Though take as much time as you need. I'll be here for you until you feel better." Dylas had though Alpha told them already, though he couldn't possibly imagine the Jes situation. Glancing up at the night sky for a few moments he sighed wonder just what the future was going to bring.
Instantly as Beta noticed the oddity, she backed up slightly. "That's weird, I know I locked it?" Beta did have a photographic memory after all so when she says something like that, she means it.
