Name: Shouta Yamaguchi
Alias: Shou (by his siblings)
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Height: 6'1
Weight: 163 lbs
Alignment: Lawful good/lawful neutral
Birth Date: May 4th
Western Horoscope: Taurus
Birth Place: Shibuya, Japan
Skills/Talents: Analytical: Shouta has a keen eye for detail and is adept at taking in information and noticing discrepancies or significant details quickly.
Cooking: Shouta is a skilled cook, able to make good, filling meals with limited ingredients.
Organization: A lifetime of wrangling five younger siblings has left Shouta with a talent for getting tasks done quickly and efficiently.
Origami: Shouta is talented at creating origami figures. He has a talent for three-dimensional visualization and an appreciation for ordered systems that makes the practice fairly intuitive for him.
Backpack Contents:
Digivice: A D-3 digivice with a dark grey body and black grips. The screen is red and a pattern of thin red lines runs runs over the main body, with red eye shapes placed irregularly along those lines.
Personality: Shouta is generally a very serious, fastidious young man. He has a fairly stoic demeanor and can come across as harsh or severe due to a combination of his bearing and his naturally stern features. While by no means appearing unfeeling, he does not like to indulge in gross displays of emotion, limiting his visible reactions to small changes in his expression and tone of voice. He is also something of a neat freak and his visible irritation and distress when things are messy or out of order combined with his generally muted emotional reactions cause him to often appear overly critical and disapproving.
In truth, this isn't entirely accurate. While he does care greatly for propriety and tidiness, he recognizes that the degree of importance he places on them is a personal quirk and tries not to judge others too harshly for failing to meet his exacting standards. He is not fully aware of how strong a trait this is in himself, as while he would say it is simply a preference for tidiness that he is completely aware and in control of, the truth is that he often finds himself unconsciously cleaning up any messes he is faced with even while distracted by conversing with somebody else and the extra stress of acknowledging the mess causes his mood to drop, resulting in him being a touch harsher than he ordinarily would be.
Shouta also has a very great sense of responsibility. He believes firmly that if some task is entrusted to him and he accepts the task then it is absolutely vital that he ensure the task is performed to the highest standard. When he gives his word that he will do something, he means to do it no matter what obstacles may come up and should he fail in his task, he will beat himself up relentlessly until he can find some way to make up for his failure. His sense of responsibility also extends itself towards his younger siblings and now his partner, Hex. He feels that their behavior is his responsibility and thus accepts the burden of their failures and misdemeanors as heavily as he does his own.
It is also with his siblings that Shouta tends to show his softer side. Anybody who sees him interacting with his younger brothers and sisters would quickly agree that he is a stern but caring and devoted older brother. He not only does everything in his power to take care of his siblings but also clearly enjoys taking care of them, displaying a paternal side of himself that is not otherwise typically evident. This is particularly evident in his love of cooking. While cooking is one of the few times that his need for cleanliness tends to abate a touch as he is generally willing to put off the cleaning up until after the meal in question has been fully prepared and consumed. This nurturing side of him can also be extended to others who need help. As long as it does not conflict with an existing responsibility or cross the boundaries of what is appropriate, he is generally quick to volunteer his services to anybody who needs help, particularly those who are younger than him or seem particularly vulnerable.
As close as he is to his younger siblings, Shouta has a somewhat tense relationship with his mother. Having had to take on a great deal of responsibility at a young age due to her inability to care for her children during a period of depression, he does not quite trust his mother. While he recognizes that she has since recovered and is now once again serving all of her maternal obligations, he cannot quite shake the feeling that she will once again fall apart at the next tragedy and he is thus reluctant to cede and responsibility for caring to his siblings to her. He also tends to be suspicious of others until they have proven themselves responsible and trustworthy, particularly anybody who might come into contact with his siblings, having been deeply impacted by his mother's ill conceived third marriage.
Shouta is a very organized and efficient person, aiming to take care of his responsibilities by making a firm plan of action and sticking to it with great discipline. This can make him more than a little stressed when unexpected events cause a hitch in his plans but he will generally do his best to adapt his plans to the changing circumstances. This can result in him pushing himself too hard, particularly if he has multiple responsibilities that are experiencing delays simultaneously as he will try to force himself to complete all of his tasks rather than accepting that the least critical tasks may have to be put off for the moment. He can also be a bit bossy when working with others, trying to force his plans on others. While he is willing to listen to the ideas and opinions of others, he nevertheless can't help but feel that they should ultimately all stick to a single plan and he naturally believes that his plan is the best one.
As much as Shouta holds himself to a high code of responsibility and exacting standards, his overly stiff adherence to these can cause problems. He tends to be a touch judgmental of others, finding other people who act inappropriately or neglect their responsibilities to be undeserving of his consideration without putting much thought to the reasons behind their actions. His adherence to plans and systems also causes him to be rather inflexible and if faced with a choice between performing some questionable act in order to assist others or simply sticking to his own rigid code at the expense of others, he has a tendency to favor the latter option and while he would be genuinely sympathetic to the individuals who he was unable to help, he would nevertheless maintain that he continued to abide by his correct code of procedure and that their suffering, while tragic, is beyond his ability to resolve and is thus not his responsibility to begin with.
In his social interactions, he tends to be rather polite and formal, even stiff. He has very little time for joking around or goofing off and thus comes across as unfriendly or overly serious. He likes when everything around him is running smoothly and efficiently so haphazard approaches or sudden changes in schedules will aggravate him. He believes firmly in the value of having a system in place for any kind of task and disapproves of rule bending or disregarding procedure.
Appearance: Shouta has straight black hair that he usually keeps cut short in an undercut style. His eyes are a metallic blue-grey color with visible frown lines around them and are naturally narrow, lending to his stern visage. While he has a slightly long face ending in a narrow chin, his other features would be less intimidating but his stoic demeanor combined with the fact that his narrow eyes often give the impression of glaring means that he often comes across as frowning even when he is perfectly calm.
He has an ectomorphic build, being naturally tall and thin. He is also just a touch paler than normal, something that is made more apparent by the dark frown lines under his eyes.
In terms of clothing, Shouta is generally well dressed in shirts and slacks or chinos, generally favoring plain and muted colors. He always strives to maintain a neat appearance, dealing with any stains, tears or wrinkles promptly should they appear.
FaceClaim:
SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN • levi ackerman • Shouta Yamaguchi
Personal History: Shouta Yamaguchi is the eldest child of Momoka Yamaguchi, a woman who has had some quite disastrous luck when it comes to husbands. Shouta's father died when he was still a baby, killed in a car accident. When he was three, she remarried and had three more children, Rin, Kosuke and Ryuji. Unfortunately, her second husband died of cancer when Shouta was nine. The grief of losing a second husband took a toll on Momoka who found herself having trouble coping. Their home began to fall into disrepair and it was at this time that Shouta began to take up more of the responsibilities of the household, picking up the slack in caring for himself and his younger siblings.
A little over a year after the death of her second husband, Momoka married for a third time and while her first two marriages were happy affairs up until their end, the third was a hasty and ill conceived romance largely spurred on by Momoka's fragile emotional state at the time. The third husband was a poor influence, drawing Momoka further into destructive habits until he skipped out about a year and a half after their wedding, leaving Momoka with another son, Hiroto, and pregnant with the twins, Arata and Ayame.
Fortunately, rather than sending her further into oblivion, this provided the wake up call that Momoka needed. She began to pull herself back together and once again start actively caring for her now seven children. By this point, however, the teenage Shouta had already started to view himself as the primary caretaker of the family and while he accepted the additional care Momoka could provide with relief, he was unwilling to step back from the responsibilities he had taken on. The dark period since the death of his first stepfather had also left Shouta with a strong distaste of any mess, as he had associated the general disrepair of their house at the time with the overall stress of that period, and he now had a strong preference for things to be ordered and regular, being averse to any large changes that could once again disrupt their family's tenuous equilibrium.
Life since then proceeded on that track, with Shouta and his mother continuing to care for and raise his younger siblings. Momoka has not remarried since, partly due to wanting to make sure she was focusing on her children, partly due to the lingering trauma of being twice widowed and once divorced and finally because Shouta was openly suspicious of anybody who seemed like they might be attempting to romance her, paranoid about the possibility of a recurrence of the last marriage.
Digimon Name: Hex
Default Form: Champion
Gender: Male
Alignment: Chaotic evil/chaotic neutral
Skills/Talents: Stealth: Aided by the shadowy nature of many of his forms, Hex is adept at staying out of sight, hidden in the shadows even when surrounded by searching eyes and capable of moving swiftly and silently.
Observation: Also aided by the multiple eyes that he gains in his higher forms, Hex is constantly taking in information. Very little escapes his notice, though he doesn't necessarily grasp the implications of everything he observes and can thus still be deceived or surprised.
Negative Empathy: As a digimon literally formed from fear, depression and all of the darkest aspects of psychology, Hex can sense the presence of these emotions in others. Not only does this let him know when people he's interacting with are upset or ashamed but it also lets him detect the presence of others around him, so long as they are feeling some degree of negative emotions.
Psychological Warfare: His ability to detect negative emotions also makes it easier for him to ferret out a target's sensitive issues and ruthlessly exploit them. He has an innate gift for managing to say exactly what it takes to shatter somebody's confidence at the worst possible moment.
Pocket Space: Hex is capable of storing inanimate objects within the shadowy miasma of his body in most of his forms and cause them to reemerge later. There does not appear to be any meaningful limit to the storage space available but objects must be small enough to pass through his body in order to be stored.
Inventory:
Personality: Hex is, first and foremost, a creature of desires. Contentment is a foreign feeling to him, as there is always something more for him to want. While it is not impossible for him feel concern about the feelings and desires of others, this generally takes a distant second in his list of priorities compared to his own immediate desires. Nor does he feel much compulsion about using any methods available to get what he wants. If somebody else has something he wants and won't give it to him, then he will lie, cheat and steals if he determines that is the best way to obtain it.
His focus on his own desires has the result that he is a highly hedonistic digimon. He will gorge himself on food and never be full, amass any amount of wealth simply to luxuriate in its opulence and essentially indulge in any excess he finds desirable without hesitation. He also tends to be very impulsive in seizing the objects of his desires. While he is certainly capable of being patient and taking his time to ensure he obtains whatever trinket or luxury he has set his eyes on, it is very rare that he will think twice about the actual act of taking it and the consequences of such. He has a penchant for kleptomania as a result of this, constantly grabbing whatever item catches his fancy and storing it away almost on reflex, regardless of how much trouble the theft may cause later on or how little actual use he may get from his latest prize. Once he has claimed something as his own, he will also guard it jealously, often storing it away within his body and refusing to give it away to anybody, with the possible exception of Shouta.
Fortunately, Hex's desires do go beyond the purely materialistic and indulgent. He desires a life rich in experiences, including a partnership with Shouta. As such, he can occasionally reign in his more base desires on Shouta's explicit request, even if this rarely lasts long. He is also fiercely protective of Shouta, just as he is protective of everything he claims as his own, and while this does tend to come across as a touch possessive, he does recognize Shouta is his own person and tries to make his partner happy rather than just treating him like another treasure in his collection.
His desires also include many other types of experience, such that he will generally be eager to try any new activity at least once and even if an experience turns out to be unpleasant, he will generally be happy to have had it as it adds to the variety of his life. As a digimon born from depression and despair, anything that inspires strong, active feelings within him is generally considered a net positive. This unfortunately makes his social interactions with others rather unpredictable. While he might desire friendship with others, he also often spontaneously decides to provoke somebody purely out of a desire to see their reaction and his nature makes him very good at provoking people. In the long term he finds the idea of having enemies almost as desirable as having friends and his short term desires of seeing interesting reactions from people makes the latter more likely than the former unless Shouta is on hand to smooth things over.
While his impulsiveness and his unpredictable desires can sometimes make him come across as rather unintelligent, the truth is that when he does put his mind to a single task he can be rather cunning. His strategies when seeking something that he cannot simply take are not exceedingly complex or brilliant but they do tend to be rather effective, not to mention ruthless. His rather limited sense of morality coupled with his natural insight into a person's psychological weak points enable him to be quite the deadly manipulator when the need arises. His general thoughtless demeanor is simply a result of him not seeing much point in putting excessive thought towards things other than his desires. Ruminating on the things he wants and how to achieve them is generally much less fulfilling for him than simply taking them and letting the consequences play out as they will.
It is also worth noting that while he may not seem the most introspective type, Shouta is actually very self aware. He realizes that no amount of prizes and baubles is likely to satisfy the hunger within him and that even his more developed desires, such as his partnership with Shouta, will only cause the void within himself to abate rather than vanish completely. While he appears to be a hedonistic reveler it thus becomes apparent that in truth he is a deeply pessimistic soul who throws himself into his desires not because he expects them to solve anything but rather because he knows his problems cannot be solved, at least in this life. By pursuing his desires so relentlessly, he intends to not only distract himself from the more unpleasant aspects of his existence but also to ameliorate the inborn cravings he is afflicted by so that upon his death and reincarnation, he may be freed of his hunger.
Personal History: When a digimon is killed, they will often have their data reformatted into an egg so that they can start their lives anew. However, this reincarnation is often an imperfect process. Some data is typically lost or changed upon each death, as a newly hatched baby digimon obviously has less data contained within itself than the mega level digimon that was reincarnated into it. Usually this lost data would simply be absorbed by another digimon or reformatted into another part of the Digital World. Occasionally, however, some of this data coalesces and forms into an entirely new digimon. The nature of this new digimon is typically based on the type of data used to form them.
Unfortunately, some of the most common pieces of data lost upon a digimon's reincarnation are those relating to misery and despair. Perhaps it is because those are the feelings most common at the moment of death or perhaps it is a result of the digmon being reborn subconsciously excising those parts of themselves they are most ashamed of. Either way, it is not uncommon for digimon born of this waste data to be replete with negativity and such is certainly the case with Hex. Born from the most depressing emotions of many different digimon, their misery and shame and despair, from the moment of his birth Hex has felt a hunger for all of the things he doesn't quite remember being refused in the past lives of his constituent data fragments. He was instantly defined by the intense void he felt within himself, a void resulting from so many different digimon failing to obtain their greatest desires before dying.
If the data that made him up was slightly different in composition, Hex could easily have been a mindless beast, feeding endlessly in an attempt to fill the desires that were an intrinsic part of his makeup. As it happened, however, many of the digimon whose data had been passed on to him had more noble desires. One common desire was the desire for a human partner to bond with and fight alongside and that was thus one of the earliest desires to solidify in Hex's nascent consciousness. Recognizing himself as a being born of misfortune and failure, he chose his own name and set out for the human world, determined to find a partner and then to fulfil his every desire so that in his next life he would no longer feel the emptiness that so defined him.
Fresh
Species: Kuramon
Appearance:
Attribute: Unidentified
Family/ies: Nightmare Soldiers
Type: Unidentified
Fighting Style: Taking advantage of his small size, Kuramon utilizes the brilliant strategy of hoping that any hostile digimon with actual combat abilities don't notice him.
Abilities: Bloody Tears: Kuramon produces a red, frothy substance from his eye that is mildly acidic and can cause mild burns on contact.
Digivolves To: Negamon
In-Training
Species: Negamon
Appearance:
Attribute: None
Family/ies: None
Type: Unknown
Fighting Style: Negamon is surprisingly agile, capable of using his tentacles to spring surprising distances and cling to many surfaces. His strategy in fights has thus changed from hiding to running and hiding, while occasionally peppering enemies with attacks to discourage pursuit.
Abilities: Evil Eye: Negamon fires a beam of dark energy from his eye that causes those struck by it to experience pangs of misery, despair and similar demoralizing emotions.
Stinging Lash: Negamon strikes at an enemy with one of his tentacles. The red lights on the underside of the tentacles produce a very painful stinging sensation on contact, though they do little long-term damage.
Digivolves From: Kuramon
Digivolves To: Eyesmon
Rookie
Species: Eyesmon (Scatter Mode)
Appearance:
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Unknown
Type: Demon
Fighting Style: Finally capable of actually fighting back in a meaningful way, Eyesmon still tends to hide from enemies but now uses this penchant for stealth to launch sneak attacks and lay ambushes. He doesn't believe in a fair fight and is all too happy to repeatedly strike at his enemies and then retreat into shadows, allowing them to work themselves into a panic that only makes it easier to slowly cut them down.
Abilities: Flight: Eyesmon is capable of flying through the air, the wings that make up his head more than enough to support his negligible weight. (Non-combat passive)
Shadow Form: Eyesmon can merge with shadows to hide himself from view. He is still vulnerable to attack while merged with the shadow and cannot himself attack or exert any physical influence on the world without emerging . (Non-combat passive)
Cruel Gaze: Eyesmon fires beams of energy from his eyes.
Shadow Stitch: Eyesmon extends his tail and uses it like a spear to stab at the enemy. This tail can turn itself into a flat shadow on the ground to bypass certain shields before reemerging to strike at the enemy behind them. (Pierces some defenses. Two post cooldown.)
Fell Spirits: Eyesmon turns himself temporarily insubstantial and flies directly through an enemy. Those passed through by this attack not only find themselves suddenly afflicted with strong negative emotions, they also find their bodies suddenly weary and lethargic, making them slow and clumsy. (Debuff reduces speed by 30% for two posts. Cooldown of two posts after debuff ends)
Hungry Void: Eyesmon flies directly at the target and latches on to them with his mouth, chewing with enough power to tunnel through rock given time. (Two post cooldown.)
Digivolves From: Negamon
Digivolves To: Raremon (Armor Digivolution)/Shademon
Armor Champion
Species: Raremon
Appearance:
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Nightmare Soldiers, Metal Empire
Type: Undead
Fighting Style: Raremon is the first form suited to head on fights. While he's still perfectly willing to use ambush tactics, his size and stench make this impractical, as does his relatively slow speed. He instead relies on his physical bulk and the fact that nobody really wants to get close enough to fight him to protect himself while he advances on his enemy.
Abilities: Stench of Decay: Raremon exudes a powerfully offensive stench at all times. Approach with caution and a very reliable set of nose plugs. (Non-combat passive)
Mourning Breath: Raremon exhales a cloud of acidic gas at the target.
Pound of Flesh: Raremon swings his arm at an enemy, causing chunks of flesh to slough off and fly at the enemy. This semi-decayed flesh sticks to whatever it hits, binding enemies in place until it finishes decaying. (Does light damage and renders enemies incapable of moving for one post. Cooldown of three posts after the enemy is freed.)
Scar Nail: Raremon's arm extends dramatically as he aims to slash at the enemy. His claw infects enemies with a necrotic disease that causes continuous pain in the affected area. (Does damage and inflicts persistent light damage for three posts. Cooldown of three posts after the lingering damage stops.)
Necrotic Blast: Raremon spits multiple large globules of rotten flesh which ignite and explode. (Two post cooldown.)
Life Support: The machinery keeping Raremon mostly alive temporarily goes into overdrive, repairing some damage done to his body. This has the side effect of further increasing the potency of his Stench of Decay. (Healing. Three post cooldown.)
Toxic Runoff: A pipe emerges from Raremon's flesh and spews a pressurized stream of foul smelling, toxic sludge at the enemy. (One post cooldown.)
Digivolves From: Eyesmon
Digivolves To: Shademon
Champion
Species: Shademon
Appearance:
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Unknown
Type: Unidentified
Fighting Style: Shademon's fighting style is very similar to his rookie form's, taking advantage of sneak attacks and gleefully using every dirty trick in the book. However, he tends to be more aggressive in this form, more likely to engage in repeated assaults rather than waiting for the perfect moment when the enemy drops their guard.
Abilities: Flight: Shademon is capable of flying through the air freely, his incorporeal body freely ignoring the whims of gravity. (Non-combat passive)
Shadow Form: Shademon can merge with shadows to hide himself from view. He is still vulnerable to attack while merged with the shadow and cannot himself attack or exert any physical influence on the world without emerging . (Non-combat passive)
Incorporeal: Shademon's body is made entirely of a gaseous, shadowy substance. While he still feels pain when physical objects pass through him, it is much reduced compared to what others might experience. (Passive. Reduces damage from physical attacks by 30%. Does not affect energy based attacks.)
Dark Watcher: Shademon fires beams of energy from his eyes at the enemy.
Umbral Blade: Shademon forms his body into a blade as he rushes past the enemy and slashes at them. Due to his intangible form, he can bypass most defenses like this. (Pierces defenses. Two post cooldown.)
Mortal Terror: Shademon's eyes glow bright red as he exudes an aura of pure terror that renders an enemy incapable of acting against him. (Enemy is incapable of attacking Shademon for one post. Two post cooldown after the effects end.)
Crimson Curse: Shademon's eyes merge into one giant eye which fires a powerful beam of crimson energy. (Three post cooldown)
Midnight Scream: Shademon forms his body into many small but sharp blades which then whirl around an area 25 meters in diameter in a vortex before reforming, cutting up everything within range. (Area of effect. Two post cooldown)
Digivolves From: Eyesmon/Raremon
Digivolves To: Entmon (Armor digivolution)/Eyesmon
Armor Ultimate
Species: Entmon
Appearance:
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Wind Guardians
Type: Plant
Fighting Style: Entmon is neither quick nor agile but he doesn't particularly need to be. His swarms of flies ensure that most any battlefield is to his advantage and his impressive physical power is more than enough to go toe to toe with most enemies.
Abilities:
Digivolves From: Shademon
Digivolves To: Eyesmon
Ultimate
Species: Eyesmon
Appearance:
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Unknown
Type: Demon Dragon
Fighting Style: Eyesmon's ultimate form is a little too large to make as much use of guerilla tactics compared to his rookie form. Instead, he uses his body's limitless flexibility to move in erratic and unpredictable manners, attacking from odd angles and being almost impossible to pin down.
Abilities:
Digivolves From: Shademon/Entmon
Digivolves To: Nidhoggmon
Mega
Species: Niddhogmon
Appearance:
Attribute: Virus
Family/ies: Nature Spirits
Type: Demon Dragon
Fighting Style: While still quick and flexible, Nidhoggmon doesn't have the physics-defying flexibility of Eyesmon. What he does have is overwhelming offensive firepower. It may be possible to catch a hold of him but it is not recommended unless you are entirely fireproof as he will do his best to incinerate anybody within range.
Abilities:
Digivolves From: Eyesmon
Digivolves To: Abbadomon
Burst Mode
Species: Abbadomon
Appearance:
Attribute: Unidentified
Family/ies: Unknown
Type: Unidentified
Fighting Style: Abbadomon relies on his many tentacles to protect his main body while firing devastating attacks at his enemies and laying waste to the area around himself. He is capable of moving at speed but typically does so in predictable, straight lines, lacking the agility to make any advanced manoeuvres.
Abilities:
Digivolves From: Nidhoggmon
Biomerge Mode Change
Species: Abbadomon (Core)
Appearance:
Attribute: Unidentified
Family/ies: Unknown
Type: Unidentified
Fighting Style: More suited to single combat than the mass destruction of his alternate mode, this form of Abbadomon is quicker and agile, though he is also slightly less impressive in terms of sheer firepower, with a preference for relatively precise attacks. Emphasis on relatively, as he is still a SUper Mega level digimon capable of flattening mountains.

Inventory:
- Flashlight
- Firecrackers
- Candy
- Miscellaneous junk
DIGIMON'S INITIAL EVOLUTION LINE
Abilities:
Digivolves From: Nidhoggmon
