“Damn it Valefor…I need some directions……” Aiko’s equal parts complaint and request was met with silence, as had every other attempt to get in touch with her new found partner in crime-fighting since they had dispersed the cult. The detective had not meant to end up in this situation. Having been tricked, by her own spiritual partner no less, into investigating a crazed cult that was kidnapping people she had ended up entirely at their mercy and would have been sacrificed in some ritual. Aiko was well aware that she had been tricked into almost dying just so Valefor, if that was even their partner’s real name, could escape that prison. It was something the detective would very much need to discuss with them.
However, for now her focus was on getting through the Dark Area. The terrain was tough, the soil was hard and the earth was barren. The aura around this land was unpleasant, a subtle miasma that gnawed away at her very being. Suffice to say, it was uncomfortable and the longer Aiko was forced to trudge through the Dark Area, the worse it got. Damn it! She had just been investigating this cult in Deeplane when they jumped her, knocked her out and carted her off to who knows where. She didn’t even know which way she was heading, having had all of her belongings (except her digivice) taken from her. She would very much need to secure some transport for herself one of these days, like a car.
Yet for now, Aiko simply walked towards what she thought to be the direction Deeplane resided in. In truth, while normally her sense of direction was normally pretty reliable but one would typically find getting knocked out and kidnapped tended to disrupt it, especially when she was in a foreign world. So here she was, walking through the Dark Area, alone and devoid of any real idea where on earth she was, possessing nothing but her digivice, the clothes on her back and the tiny little statue that she had recovered from the cult.
