Post by Kohaku & Ruri on Sept 5, 2022 3:52:13 GMT
On the topic of a "group photo," Marina had pulled out a camera from her fur and took a picture of the currently assembled group. The camera was a flash type of camera, which Kohaku and Ruri were not prepared for. After the picture was taken, both siblings were still trying to regain their vision and maintain their balance. Their eyes practically were anime swirls at this point in time. "Wh-what the heck...?!" Kohaku had asked.
Once their sense of sight returned, however, Kohaku and Ruri were both in awe of the picture that Marina was holding in front of them. It was the entire group gathered together, frozen in time! "This is amazing," Ruri said in awe, "I want a camera now, too! Imagine how many of these pictures we could take, Brother!"
"Man, I look good in photos..." Kohaku said with a smirk, rubbing the bottom of his beak as he observed himself in the photo. This caused Ruri to do an anime face fault in the process, despite already being aware of how her brother behaved.
Hotaru's group would then go scouting off it seemed, leaving the two pairs of siblings, Alpha and the boss behind. According to the boss, it seemed like it was up to them to determine how to handle this Digimon when they found them. "I'd like to avoid loading them if that's possible," Kohaku said. "Doesn't really matter what this guy did, if we load them, then we're just as bad as they are." Kohaku had been trying his hardest to implant this lesson in Ruri's mind: loading was always wrong.
Alpha would request the others to call him by his species name for a while, before dropping the low pitched voice entirely and sounding like a little girl. Kohaku and Ruri blinked in response before they started chuckling a bit. Not because of the voice itself, but because of how much of a drastic change it was from the voice Alpha had been putting on moments prior. "You- you're really good at that," Ruri complimented Alpha once she stopped laughing. "It's super hard to change your voice like that..."
Hm, it seemed that Marina didn't understand why Kohaku and Ruri's dad was so focused only on those two. "Our father's the king of pricks but he's not really interested in anyone else at the moment," Kohaku explained. "He's not out to take over the world, he's just a pirate that got his ass handed to him and now he suddenly thinks we owe it to him to be a part of it." It was clear that Kohaku didn't really like explaining his story to anyone, hence why he was just trying to get it over with as soon as possible.
Now with everything seemingly out of the way, it was time for the group to head off. The boss asked the group if she could find out why the other tribe was helping them to begin with, since the messenger was very vague about it. Kohaku and Ruri glanced at each other, neither of them getting a good feeling from that, before turning back to the boss. "No promises, but we'll try," Kohaku would say to the RizeGreymon-X.
And with that, Kohaku and Ruri would walk alongside Alpha down the path... they didn't expect Alpha to be the talkative type, and quite frankly En-En and Marina rubbed both of them the wrong way a bit with how casually they were insulting that Xros army after they left, so they were anticipating a pretty quiet walk.

Alpha was a bit caught off guard by the sudden photo being taken, eyes used to darkness rather then light he had to blink for a few moments he shook his head to regain his senses. Heading over to Marina for a moment to check out the picture Alpha was definitely surprised. "Oh wow, it looks just like those framed things I see on mom's desk. So that's how she got those. That is really cool." Though pausing for a moment Alpha decided to follow that up with a question. "Hey, would it be alright if I could have that? Or if you could make a copy or something? I, I'd like to remember this moment if I can and if that lasts forever then..." He seemed a bit shy at asking but it was worth a shot after all, considering this was the day he decided to start fighting back, suffice to say it was a day he wanted to remember.
"Like I said, it's whatever you lot decide. I ain't going to hold you to my moral standards or nothing. After all I'm for a place that's far more cutthroat than some of you might be used to. Whatever you decide I'm sure it'll be fine." After all she was the leader of a village in an area that's well-known fight combat, might just be used to that sorta thing.
Alpha rolled his eyes as Kohaku and Ruri started laughing at him, seems like he pretty much expected this sorta reaction. "Yeah, Yeah. Get it out of your system." Though Ruri did seem to complement him, though it seemed to have the opposite effect as Alpha just looked away for a moment. "I didn't learn how to because I wanted to, I..." Sighing Alpha shook his head, trying to shove away some bad memories. "It's not important, forget it." Well that definitely had some backstory to it.
Seems Marina had quite the piece to say to Kohaku, so the Boss seemed to just add on to what she said. "Heh, yeah he ain't just some random Hackmon. Hell if he plays his cards right, I might even make him the next leader of my clan." Though she didn't know anything about grander aspirations, having a quick joke was probably good enough.
"Yeah I, Wait what!?" And that seemed to be news to Alpha, eyes a bit wide as the RizeGreymon X seemed to laugh for a moment.
"Anyone who trains under me is automatically in the running for next in line, don't worry though I won't force ya. Unless you wanna join." And with that Alpha seemed to move a bit quicker in going into the direction they were supposed to be heading, not wanting to answer that question leaving the boss laughing and waving them off for a moment. Though Alpha also didn't seem to notice Hotaru's group rushing off in the wrong direction, that was probably ok.
Now for the walk, it was a pretty open area so it wouldn't be too hard to move in, nothing in the way unless you very much weren't looking or wanted to trip on something. Also in expecting Alpha to not be the talkative type, well that was false at least for the moment as he would be the first one to start talking. "It'll be a bit before we get there since we'll most likely have to fight, I figured we could use this time to mention what we're capable of." After all, it'd be hard to work together if no one knew what anyone could do.
"Suppose I'll start, I can manipulate shadows and so long as I keep hitting the opponent, I can weaken their digital frame making them take more damage from attacks. I can't fight as well since I don't have my sister with me but I'm sure I can still hold my own." To showcase this under the hot sun, Alpha made his own shadow extend outward forming a shadow version of the boss under his feet.

Marina smiled with an expression that conveyed both satisfaction and smugness. The masses were being exposed to her peerless talents, after all! “Cameras are wonderful devices, aren’t they?” The digimon commented to no one in particular, even though her gaze wandered to Alpha not much later. Without missing a beat, she extended the picture towards him. “Sure. Feel free to keep it! I can make more of those if you want to. Or…” She made a small pause, the idea fully forming in her mind. “What if, once we’re done with this task, we take a commemorative photo? Y’all can strike poses and everything!”
Whether her suggestion was taken or not, that didn’t matter a lot. The truth was that both her and En-En were ready to go! “Don’t worry about loading.” The Weathermon said. “If anyone’s got to do it, I don’t mind, especially if they’re as bad as advertised. I’ve never seen the whole ‘turning the other cheek’ schtick do any good to anyone.”
With that out of the way, and after some adjustments, they were ready to go! At least if one didn’t take into account the drastic change that Alpha’s voice suffered. That was impressive! Marina immediately beelined towards him. “You should completely forget about being the chief of this tribe.” She proclaimed, pure conviction clear in her voice. “Your talents would be wasted here! You’d be way better off as an actor, trust me! What you have there is something that very few non-specialized digimons can pull off.” As somebody with that talent as well, what else could be said?
After that small rant and a firm nod towards Kohaku’s backstory, the group was finally on their path towards their mysterious quest, and the conversation was opened by nothing more and nothing less than a discussion about their talents and abilities. “Might as well.” En-En said. Probably better to keep the whole deal short. Getting detailed might incur into everyone else just forgetting. “I can support everyone from the backlines, mostly defensively, and while I can prevent injuries from happening in the first place, I’m unable to heal them if they’ve happened, so have that in mind.”
Marina immediately added. “And I’m the center! I can do all kinds of things, lik-” Just to be interrupted right away. “She excels at manipulating the flow of the fight. She can misdirect, distract, confuse, and aggravate enemies.”
A pause, and a shocked face from the Tutomon ensued. “Man, that was my moment to reveal all my talents. What you said was so lame, En-En-nee.”
She was doing her best impression at sounding completely dejected, but her expression definitely told otherwise.

After their photo had been taken, Alpha had asked Marina if he could take it with him after the mission was over. The idea of that made Kohaku and Ruri want photos of their own as well. And as luck would have it, Marina suggested that the group all take a commemorative photo after the mission was completed. "Let's do that!" Ruri said, agreeing with the idea. "I want a photo of my own to take with me, as well!"
Once Kohaku and Ruri got their chuckles out from Alpha's sudden voice change, their positive comments on it were deflected when Alpha said that he didn't learn how to alter his voice because he wanted to. The siblings looked a bit deflated after hearing that, but then Marina stepped in and said that Alpha should consider becoming an actor. "Hey yeah, that's a great idea! You could learn to do all different types of voices, I bet!"
The part about Alpha becoming the next clan leader was a shock to everyone, even Kohaku and Ruri. He seemed to really wanna get the hell out of there after that, and the siblings couldn't blame him. They both waved goodbye to the boss before following him out into the open field, ready to start their mission. As they were walking, Alpha would surprisingly be the one to start up a conversation, figuring it would be good to know what they were all capable of.
"Yeah, that makes sense," Kohaku agreed, nodding his head slightly. Alpha explained that he could make enemies weaker as long as he keeps hitting them, as well as manipulating shadows. To demonstrate this, Alpha caused his own shadow to extend out and form into a shadow of the boss. "Okay, that's pretty cool," Kohaku said, both his and Ruri's eyes widening a bit.
En-En would go next, saying she can support the others in the back and prevent injuries from happening to begin with. She also explained that Marina can manipulate the flow of the fight by distracting and confusing the enemies, among other things. Ruri would then chip up next. "I was born with aether magic, meaning that I can use it to both attack the bad guys and heal my friends." She demonstrated this by manipulating a bit of green aether energy within her wings to show everyone.
"And I'm a ninja in training," Kohaku immediately added. "Like Alpha, when I evolve, I can find the weak points of my enemies and strike them precisely to do more damage. Aside from that, I'm a pretty agile fighter, and I try to strike from where they least expect it. I can also perform some ninjutsu tricks here and there, like becoming invisible and all that."

Alpha grabbed the photo for a moment, checking it for a moment he saw his own wide and confused eyes in the picture. Letting out a small chuckle at himself Alpha put the picture away into the folds of his cloak, should be fine there he figured. "Yeah that sounds good, I'll actually be prepared for that one then." He was pretty caught off guard last time, maybe he could even manipulate the shadows around him for a pose next time, that would be pretty cool to see.
Seems the Weathermon was fine with loading them if needed, Alpha found himself hoping for a moment that it wouldn't come to that. Even if they were hunting him, he didn't exactly feel like that would be something he'd need to resort too.
'Remember Alpha, Beta. in a fight you can't afford to hesitate, do whatever it takes to survive no matter what.'
His mom's words echoed in his mind for a moment, it had been a while since he last spoke to her but even still, she was right. His life was in danger and if that was the option, they needed to take they needed to do it, steeling his resolve Alpha continued to focus on the task ahead.
But those thoughts were thrown out when he was caught off guard from Marina's pure convection, beelining towards him and offered a suggestion for his voice. "A-An actor? I've, never really considered something like that. Never really tried to do other voices if I'm honest." He didn't really see a point in trying but, hey they were just walking so maybe he should give it a shot.
Thinking for a moment Alpha took a deep breath before talking once more. "I think, she sounds like this?" Alpha spoke doing what he could to mimic the Boss' voice. It was a bit lighter than her heavy tone but sounded decent for a first attempt. Though after that Alpha coughed going back to his normal voice. "Bit hard to do that, guess I'm not used to it."
Wait what were we talking about? Oh yeah Mission, should get back to focusing on that probably Alpha. Hearing everyone's talents made Alpha nod thinking about how to go about it for a moment. "Defense, Ranged and Healing, Manipulation and Agility. With my attack power we have a pretty balanced line-up it seems." Two in the back, one in the center and two in the frontlines, while Alpha was finding himself wishing Beta was here to be a heavy hitter this was fine for now.
"We should be getting closer to the meeting point, the messenger said it'd be on the border between the Boss' territory and their own." It wasn't too far of a walk but even still best to be prepared for what was up ahead, also to give one rounder of posting to say anything they wanna say.

Momo kept flying ahead at full speed, ready to scout the heck out of whatever was in front of her! There was like... rocks, and stuff. A cave here and there. A confused-looking dragon Digimon or two.... and her allies were nowhere in sight. She looked around for a bit, only to find them moving in the opposite direction of where she was going... with Hotaru, Sakura, and Misaki following behind her.
Momo had an inkling of what she had done, and she was immediately ashamed of herself, her vision getting blurry with frustrating tears. But one headpat from Misaki later, and she realized that the group needed to rejoin the others, as quickly as possible. Hotaru was still asleep, so they had to take that into account as well. So reached into Hotaru's pocket, pulled out the human girl's Digivice and pressed a button, causing the girl's wheelchair to suddenly vanish as Misaki grabbed ahold of the sleeping girl.
Momo then grabbed ahold of Sakura's shoulders as Misaki and Momo flew off towards their allies at max speed. When they got to the group, Momo dropped Sakura off, with Misaki dropping the lifeless Hotaru soon after. Sakura managed to land and catch the human girl before she went splat, resummoning her chair and setting her in it once more.
Momo and Misaki landed then, the little fruit birb more than a little winded. "Th-that way's c-clear... by the way!" She declared, perhaps just a way to save face.
Misaki waved to the group as Hotaru stirred, groaning uncomfortably, likely much to the dismay of a certain bargain-bin lakitu.
"Oh... You're awake again," Sakura stated.
"Why would you think that I would remain asleep after being thrown around like that...?" She muttered before nodding to the rest of the group. "So... we were discussing what everyone can do?" How the group could possibly hear that when they were gone was lazy writing, but shut up.
"Umm... I shoot out seeds that stick to people, and then they go... 'KA-BLOOEY!!!' if I get enough of them on there. Oh, and if I try really really hard, I can put out small fires by throw-" Misaki rested her hand upon Momo's back, and shook her head.
"And... I don't have anything special," Sakura admitted. "I know some martial arts, so I guess you can call me a close-range fighter. I'm able to react better than I attack though, so the more enemies focusing on me, the better. So I'll try my very best to defend you, if you need it. I can take a beating if I need to."
Then there was one more person to talk about in Hotaru's group, right? So naturally, they stepped forward. Well, rolled, in this case.
"My chair goes pretty fast, so I'm probably one of the fastest among us when going down a hill," Hotaru stated, clearly screwing around despite her face and tone remaining completely serious. "Unfortunately, it comes at a price. I'm also at my slowest when going up a hill," Misaki couldn't help but smile as she slinked off into the background without a sound. Which was pretty impressive considering she was covered in loose robes and feathers.

The photo was, indeed, a genius idea, as evidenced; what else could come from Marina’s brilliant mind? It was rather easy to discern that she was both the smartest and prettiest digimon in the newly-formed ensemble.
Humbleness aside, the Tutomon had to give credit where it was due; Alpha’s attempt at imitating a voice was pretty good! “See? That’s exactly what I meant!” She exclaimed. “It wasn’t a perfect imitation, but as far as first tries go, that was almost perfect! There’s some undeniable talent there.”
Both sisters made sure take note of what the other members of the team could do as well; it’d be folly to engage into a fight otherwise; as far as things went, they all seemed to be pretty balanced, even if they probably had a little too much emphasis on their backline and not much as far as proper piercing power went, but asking to form a perfect composition when they pretty were a ragtag team was a bit too much, wasn’t it?
The Weathermon herself nodded at the mention of the group approaching their designated meeting point, even if… she ended up sighing when the human and her ensemble appeared again. Speaking in absolute terms, it was probably good to get more capable hands, and to get fighters that rounded their composition, but at the same time, she couldn’t help to be slightly incensed at what would’ve otherwise been a humanless adventure.
“Let’s just get on with it.” She said, trudging forward. What would they find ahead of them?

Now would be the time where the group that ran off a bit ago finally managed to rejoin the group. The flying ones, who Kohaku and Ruri assumed their names to be Momo and Misaki, dropped off the pink Veemon and their human... quite literally in the human's case, but thankfully Misaki caught her before she went splat on the ground. "Ain't humans supposed to be fragile or something?" Kohaku asked Momo as he crossed his wings. "I don't think it's a good idea to go dropping them in places."
They managed to catch the discussion about their abilities, it seemed. Momo claimed she could shoot out sticky seeds that exploded, and the pink Veemon, Sakura, was a martial artist, one that seemed to like dealing with multiple enemies at a time. It seemed that they all had pretty impressive skills among all of them... this mission was going to be a piece of cake!
Despite some concerns about loading their target, the topic seemed to shift to Alpha potentially becoming an actor, to which the Hackmon wasn't so sure about. "Oh come on, I think you'd be a great actor, Alpha!" Ruri said in an optimistic tone, giving Alpha a positive reassuring look. "Not just anyone can do the cool voice changing thing like you can. Like Marina said, they'd be wasted as some boring old village leader!"
Alpha decided to try and mimic another voice, this time choosing to go with the boss's. And Alpha was pretty spot on with it, too! It was a bit different from her actual voice, but for a first time attempt, it was impressive. Kohaku let out a whistle to show that he was impressed. "And that was your first attempt? Definitely keep practicing that, that skill's gonna come in handy if you need to fool someone."
According to Alpha, the meeting point was coming up, the messenger saying that it was on the border between the two territories. Kohaku was one to notice En-En sighing when that human showed back up, along with an increased amount of snippiness when she requested to move along. Hm.... The ninja hoped that this would not be an issue in the long run, and just decided to follow along with the group... while also keeping an eye out for a potential ambush attempt.

Oh, the group that ran off came back. Looking more than a little winded. Given Alpha was used to trying to save face like that he felt a bit of sympathy for her, so instead of saying anything rude he just gave a small smile. "Thanks, Good to know just in case." Considering that way was more than likely still the boss's territory, she was probably lucky she didn't run into a guard but trouble was the least likely thing to find around there.
As for the dropping humans thing, Alpha could just shrug given he doesn't know anything about humans. "Well, if they were really that fragile wouldn't be here at all right? So long as no one's hurt it should be fine. I think?" It was hard to tell given his limited knowledge, though he did notice the sigh as Hotaru approached. There was definitely something between the Weathermon and her, maybe just human's in general he didn't know. But they seemed willing to put it aside for now so hopefully it wouldn't be any trouble.
"I'll... Consider it, right now should focus on what's ahead of me. I can worry about my future when I don't have some Megalomaniac on my tail." Village Leader or Actor, didn't matter much if Alpha ended up biting it after all. "...Thanks though, I uhh. Just thanks." he had a hard time putting it into words but this did make him feel a bit better about using his regular speaking voice.
"Right, should get moving. Should be just a bit." However before Alpha could finish the group would hear a loud call from nearby.
"Finally, I've been waiting forever." It was still some ways away but after a moment that wouldn't be the case anymore, something leapt from quite a ways away reaching over at a very fast speed before landing in front of the ground, causing a decent amount of dust to kick up around them.
Once that had settled the newcomer would be revealed to be an Arresterdramon, slowly standing up to full height being a decent amount taller than the other digimon. "So, you're squad Rize and her group sent huh?" They asked stretching their arms for a moment, if one took a look around the area seemed decently more beat up then the rest of the valley around it, were they training?
"Least I hope so, cause if you're not this conversation is going to take a drastically sharp turn, which no offense but around here you can't be too careful, aye." Well there was that dragon hospitality that should be expected from a place like this.
"Y-yeah, we were sent here by her." Alpha made sure to add, best make sure regardless of what his allies might say they at least knew that part right?

If Hotaru even heard En-En's sigh, she didn't seem to acknowledge it in any way. Probably for the best. They were on a mission, and unless the mission was secretly an after-school special on the negative impacts of racism and intolerance, they all had a job to do.
The group praised Alpha's new voice a little more, spoke of the future, and all that stuff, until another being appeared when they arrived at the meeting point. It was all very interesting and definitely worth talking about later, but it all got interrupted when another Digimon so rudely appeared during the middle of their conversation. It was a Strikedramon... or rather, not a Strikedramon, but that other lanky, purple dragon Digimon that also existed for some reason. It was weird how there were two of those. Regardless, Strikedramon2.0 made quite an entrance, kicking up dust and debris where they landed. Some of it got into Momo's beak, causing a horrendous itching sensation to occur. The Pomumon had to take short gasps with her mouth to offset the tingly blockage in her nasal cavities. Could birds even sneeze? Kohaku and Ruri would probably know. But what about plant birds?
Misaki was quiet as usual, while Hotaru stared at the Arresterdramon with slightly annoyed scowl. Momo would have no idea of knowing this, but making such an unnecessary entrance was kind of annoying, and then threatening them and then saying "no offense" was the icing on the cake. She already didn't like them.
Sakura, however, took a different approach. There was some slight hesitation in Alpha's answer, and she felt that perhaps that might be a mistake. Maybe it was the fact she was a dragon Digimon herself, or maybe she knew a bunch of dragon Digimon or something, but she figured she should present the group with a little more confidence. "I'd like see what kind of direction you'd take us in, though you might find that particular turn a little sharper than you can handle," She stated, cracking her knuckles and gave the Arresterdramon a small, but secure smile. "But we're on a mission here, and like our leader said, we're the group you're wanting to see. Hope we didn't interrupt your..." She looked around to the obvious damage to the area. "...your light workout, I hope."
Momo was a bit taken aback but Sakura's sudden mood swing. She was always a really good big sis, but she was normally never this confident. Was she just faking it, or was she just that comfortable talking to dragon Digimon? Either way, Momo wanted to say something, but as she opened her mouth to speak to Sakura, the only sound Momo could make was "A-chyuu~!" But for as dainty and cutesy as Momo's sneeze sounded, the end result was anything but.
"So, now that we're here, how about you tell us-" Sakura was interrupted by a double-barreled shotgun blast straight from Momo's plantbirb nostrils and landing directly onto the side of the Vmon's face.
"Oh no... I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it but all the dust and dirt from earlier..." Momo began to panic, but Sakura just reached out to pat the Pomumon atop the head in reassurance, while Misaki flew in and handed the pink dragon a hankerchief, from god-knows-where. It had a bright pink, frilly design, complete with embroidered crimson hearts. Sakura let out a disdainful groan as she stared at the frilly pink cloth, but nevertheless used it to clean herself off, remaining silent for the time being before blurting out, "Holy crap, this feels really soft and silky...!" Seeing as she likely lost any potential credibility with what just happened, it was probably best if someone else did some talking now.

The question floating in the air was definitely a somewhat contentious matter. Were humans really fragile? Marina was managing to ponder this very question for several seconds, while En-En answered right away.
“Relatively, they are, but that answer isn’t very useful. Relatively we’d also be fairly fragile in case we ran into any digimon that possessed overwhelming power. That’s why I feel like giving preferential treatment to them is out of the question when they’re engaging with this on their own will. It’d be utterly foolish to want to experience the rose without preparing for the thorn.”
Quite poetic, wasn’t it? It was one of those rare moments when En-En eschewed the insults when expressing her views on a matter that, at least to an outsider, was a core part of her being. That aside, though, it seemed like the group had arrived at their destination, and had found an Arresterdramon that, hopefully, was waiting for them.
“We arrived only fashionably late!” The Tutomon answered, right away. “Some members of our group decided to take some detours, but we’re here! That’s what matters, doesn’t it?” A quick scan to the area made her raise her eyebrows, however. “That’s gonna stick like a sore thumb. Part of the plan, isn’t it? If so, that’s quite clever! Is there anything else that needs to be done?”
Was their journey supposed to continue, or were they supposed to remain here, even if for a little longer? Maybe that’d be revealed once the beings near Momo took care of her allergies. That didn’t seem like a good time.

Post by Kohaku & Ruri on Nov 2, 2022 4:07:03 GMT
"Most humans at least have enough sense to not fall like that, but what do I know?" Kohaku said, not really wanting to discuss it any further. En-En had a point, even Digimon could be considered fragile under the right circumstances. Like Alpha said, the human seemed to be alright, so no harm was truly done, and it was best to move on.
Alpha seemed happy about all the praise he was receiving about his voice from the rest of the group. He said he couldn't worry about his future at the moment because of the maniac chasing him and his sister, but he still thanked the group anyways. Ruri would walk up and look at his face before grinning widely. "Awww, are you blushing, Alpha?" Ruri asked as she poked him a bit, wanting to tear down the edgy persona that the Hackmon had seemed to put up even more. "You need to have more confidence in yourself, I think. Tell the world what you are and refuse to back down! Right, Brother?"
"You got it, Ruri. And Alpha, speaking as someone who does at least somewhat know what you're goin' through, just remember that you're not alone facing it, even when it feels like you are."
The group only got a little bit closer towards an area that looked very damaged before they heard another voice call out to them. Before they knew it, an Arresterdramon landed on the ground right next to them, and the dust cloud formed sent both Kohaku and Ruri into a sneezing fit just like it had to Momo. Once that was over, both of them looked up towards the Arresterdramon, his sheer size being very intimidating to the poor bird siblings.
"Brother, he reminds me of Gem's dad when he's an OmniShoutmon," Ruri quietly said as she gripped onto Kohaku's wing, looking up at the super tall dragon. The Arresterdramon would then go on to ask if they were the group sent by Rize, before clearly stating what he intended to do to them if they weren't. The siblings could just feel Alpha's hesitation to answer, as he was likely feeling as scared as they were. Thankfully the others were more confident in explaining their situation to Arresterdramon.
Kohaku and Ruri took this time to observe the heavily damaged area, to which they assumed was Arresterdramon's training area. Ruri felt bad watching it, as this place probably looked beautiful at one point before it all took quite a beating. Then Momo sneezed all over Sakura, and both bird siblings thought the entire situation was very disgusting. At least Momo apologized and had a handkerchief ready, but still, snot was not something either of them wanted to see today.
"Just be careful not to sneeze on anyone else," Kohaku would say to Momo as he stepped away from her a bit.

Alpha didn't respond to the blushing comment nor the comment about being confident. The one word that struck out for him was that he needed to show them who he was, declare it to the world.....
But how was he supposed to do that when he didn't even know who he was? The voice thing was one thing but whatever Alpha was he had no idea. Sighing for a moment Alpha simply focused back on the task ahead, it doesn't matter now. Right now, all that was in his mind was what was ahead of him and... Beta.
Thinking about her the hesitation he had when he spoke faded away, she might be mad at him for good reason, but she did believe in him, though Alpha doesn't believe in himself. Maybe, maybe the world doesn't need to know who he is but so long as she does...
"Yeah we're here for the information you have about that digimon that's been messing with her clan. Don't bother with empty threats you know why we're here." Alpha wasn't mad, he was still stern though. He wasn't going to let someone just toss a threat their way.
Raising up their hands the dragon digimon backed off a bit with a smirk. "Heh, Sorry. Might've been a bit too forward there. But yeah I'm here to tell you where they're at. They've been hanging around the border a bit ahead of here." Only to be interrupted by some massive sneeze coming from one of the digimon. "Oh uhh, Bless you. Sorry about that I'm still getting used to this form. Coming to a complete stop is a bit hard. Hence the whole." Looking back they motioned over to their whole training session. "I missed the morning training by coming here so I picked up a bit of slack while I waited."
But back to the mission. "They've been hoping towards her camp every so often, usually we don't flag down strangers just trying to cross through, but they've taken advantage of our hospitality a bit too much. Sending those signals and all, they've been using some sorta makeshift digivice to do it. But they don't have a tamer or at least we haven't seen a human around them so far." Crossing their arms for a moment they added one more thing. "It's a Witchmon, Champion level. Dunno if they can evolve higher but we haven't seen anything indicating they can. From what we know they're going to throw up another signal in about an hour or so, I can show you where they've been usually holding up" Seems like a lot of good information.
Though now came the part of asking why they know all this, Alpha had to admit it did seem a bit suspicious they knew about the signals and what digimon it was, though as the Boss had said that was a side objective. If his allies let it pass then so would Alpha but if they objected, he had his own share of questions.

Momo chuckled nervously as her sneeze brought a little more attention that she intended, and the little fruit birb slinked away to hide behind Hotaru for the time being. Speaking of, Hotaru was fooling around on her D-Terminal while pretending not to pay any attention to the rude Arresterdramon. She pursed her lips as he went on and on. Now, Hotaru wasn’t the brightest human out there. She was definitely more a doer than a thinker, but even this seemed kinda fishy.
But it was Sakura who spoke up first, having wiped herself off from Momo’s dust-fueled discharge. “So... you’re allowing another clan into your territory to deal with a problem, instead of dealing with it yourself,” She stated, crossing her arms with a thoughtful expression. “Or rather, allowing an unaffiliated group hired by the Rize clan to solve your issue for you. If you ask me, that still doesn’t look good for... your clan.” she paused as she realized that maybe they should have asked Rize what this clan’s name was if they were going to be entering their territory. It wasn’t like they saw any road signs or anything!
“I can only think of so many reasons why you’re doing all this, like you’re the ones responsible for these signals in the first place, and you’re setting up a trap for the Rize clan, but even that wouldn’t make sense since our deaths wouldn’t affect the clan in any way, but the fact you know so much about the target and haven’t done anything about it makes it more suspicious.”
“Or you guys could just suck,” Hotaru added. “You’re unable to take this Witchmon out, and you’re offering the Rize clan the opportunity to clean up this mess so you don’t look as lame,” She paused for a second, then added, “It’s not working, by the way.”
“Or maybe,” Momo piped up, fluttering out from behind Hotaru. “Maybe you’re just trying to be nice! You’re neighbors, and neighbors should be nice to one another!” It was highly doubtful that was the case, seeing as the reason the group was hired in the first place, but Momo was a good girl, and being a good girl and being political seldom went hand in hand.
Sakura gave Momo a gentle smile and nod before turning back to face the Arresterdramon with a far less gentle glare. “Either way, something about this doesn’t seem right. And while risking our lives for the mission is just part of the job, but getting caught up in whatever scheme between your two clans is something I’m not willing to risk my friend’s lives for. So if I were you, I would fill us in on why you’re going about this the way you are, or else we’re gonna have some problems here.”
It was a bit presumptuous for Sakura to make that declaration, but this group consisted of a majority of sweet kids, and she couldn’t stop herself even if she wanted to.

Post by Kohaku & Ruri on Dec 3, 2022 4:39:53 GMT
Oh... it didn't seem that Ruri's pep talk worked all that much on Alpha. He just sighed in response to what she was saying, preferring to just focus on the task at hand. She moved over to her brother and looked at him with saddened eyes. "Did I say something wrong to him?"
"Of course not," Kohaku said, putting a wing on her shoulder. "He's likely still figuring things out in his head. Might be best to just give him some space for now, you know?"
Ruri sighed. "Yeah, you're right, Brother..." Still, it upset Ruri to know that Alpha was upset for some reason that she was unaware of. She was empathic, she couldn't help but feel bad if she knew that someone else was also feeling bad. During the walk, she'd occasionally glance over at Alpha, just wishing that she could help him in some way...
Alpha was pretty stern with the Arresterdramon that had met up with them, seemingly being able to get over his own nervousness of staring up to this tall dragon Digimon. Once the siblings' sneezing fit ended, the Arresterdramon explained that the culprit they were looking for was hanging around the border, hoping towards the Boss's camps every so often. He even knew about the signals, and what kind of Digimon it was. However, like everyone else, Kohaku and Ruri were growing a bit suspicious... how the heck would this guy know stuff like that?
"Ruri, on my signal, I'm going to drop a smoke bomb, then you're going to pelt him with your most powerful attack, go it?" Kohaku whispered to his sister, a stern tone to his voice.
"Yeah, I got it," Ruri whispered back.
Sakura would be the first one to speak up on that subject, however. She pretty much called out how his clan was asking for outside help with this problem to begin with, risking making his own clan look bad in the process, insinuating that they were the ones responsible for the signals and they were setting a trap for the Boss's clan. Hotaru, meanwhile, suggested that they were just very bad at finding the culprit themselves. Both very likely options.
"Yeah, this whole thing doesn't sit right with me, either," Kohaku said, squinting his eyes a bit as he looked at the Arresterdramon. But just then, Ruri got an idea that could help them get the truth.
"You know, Mr. Arresterdramon, I am actually a mage," Ruri said, channeling aether magic in her wings for emphasis. "I've been at this for longer than you may think, and I just happen to know a few dangerous spells. If you really are leading us into a trap, then I won't hesitate to turn you into something horrible like a Burpmon, or turn you into stone!"
Of course, Ruri had no such power. She was only a mage in training, like how Kohaku was a ninja in training. But Arresterdramon didn't know that, and Ruri's bluff acting was objectively pretty good. But would this Arresterdramon fall for such a ruse, or was the group going to have a fight on their hands?
