Shi slowly opened his eyes, his body felt so stiff at the moment but even still he pushed himself to at least get to a sitting position, it was hard but he managed to do at least that and get a good look around the area. It was a small black and brown room, the floor seemed to be pitch black as if he was sitting on darkness itself. The walls felt similar to the walls of Terminus, giving off an unwelcoming feeling. Slowly he rose to his feet as his eyes adjusted to the darkness making out two figures in front of him, Yuudai and Yasuo.
Shi made his way over to the two of them, bending down and shaking them both to try and rouse them from their sleep. It seemed to work as the both of them opened their eyes, Yasuo slowly getting up as Shi had while Yuudai leapt up to standing, looking around the area. "What's going on, who's there? Why does my body hurt?" Yuudai would find no answers to these questions from Shi or the room around the,
Yasuo got up after a second looking around the area. "Where are we? Weren't we going to Terminus?" It was true, last Shi recalled they had just departed for the digital world and woke up here, most likely from a high area considering how much Shi's chest hurt at the moment.
"Mhm, wonder what this place is. C'mon lets go take a look." Shi was still pretty chill about this situation, weird stuff happened to them all the time. So long as the three of them were together he was pretty sure they'd be able to find their way outta this place, worst case scenario they could try blasting their way out.
Walking down the hall nearby the three of them found another person at least, a very old man standing next to a single lamppost, eyes closed and appeared to be sleeping. Yuudai went up to them first, tapping the stranger on the leg waking them up. "Oh, my apologize, I seemed to of dozed off. Welcome, It has been some time since I've had visitors. This is the end of time." He seemed to stop for a moment to let that information sink in, the trio back off a bit with confused looks on their faces.
"End of time? What does that even mean. Are we in the future or something then? How did it end?" This was definitely weird, Yasuo wanted some answers on the situation, meanwhile his brother had a different question.
"How did we get here anyway? We were just leaving to go to Terminus and wound up here. Did we fall through a portal or something?" Two very good questions, Shi just nodded along with them since he wanted to know those as well.
The old man laughed for a moment while looking at the three of them. "Sorry, you just remind me of the last trio who came here. One intellegent, one headstrong and the last silent as could be. Regardless the answer to your first question I'm afraid I do not know how this came to be, this is simply where all things, human and digital shall end. The destination of both world shall lead to this place devoid of all. Me and my partner wound up here at some point ourselves, there is a way back however, but we've grown attached to the solemn life and have no use for it." The old man pointed to the door behind him. "My partner is there if you so wish to talk with them before you depart, he may be able to awaken some powers within you."
With that the old man... Fell asleep again, well not like Shi could blame him after all there didn't seem to be much else to do. "So, lets take a vote. I want to go home." Well that was one vote for Shi.
"I think we should go visit the partner, after all if they can awaken anything that'd be helpful." Though there was a chance this was all a trick it was probably worth it in the end to at least try.
"I wanna go home too but we can at least check, after all we don't know what way home is so we should at least ask the partner first." Valid point, checking out his digivice it would seem that Shi couldn't get the digiport to work, so that was 2 against Shi so time to go through with what they wanted.
Heading through the door they were a bit surprised to find the partner they mentioned was a Mega level digimon, Mastemon it seems. "Oh, hello. It has been some time since I've last had visitors. I assume you're here because of my partner?" Seems they were used to this whole awakening powers thing, walking up the trio nodded as they walked up. "Very well, let me take a good look at the three of you." Floating around them for a moment. "Hmm, interesting. Your two partners seem to be from Witchelny, though their powers seem dormant. I should be able to bring out their latent magical potential for them." Holding her hands over the two Agumon, the duo felt a weird surge of energy flow through them. After a moment everything seemed to calm down as the Mastemon smiled, seeming to imply that it was done. Yuudai held his claws out for a moment, checking to see what had happened as fire shout out of them.
"Whoa, neat. I can cast fire spells! Hey maybe my healing spell is better now too?" He'd hafta Biomerge to check but who knows! Yasuo on the other hand couldn't seem to shoot anything outward like his brother, however as he lifted his arms up Shi felt something in his foot move, there was a pebble that was stuck in his shoe that Yasuo could manipulate, power of earth, neat.
"And you, Human. Hmm interesting." Mastemon flew around Shi for a few moments checking him out from every angle. "You seem to have some latent power as well, a powerful connection between you and your partners. You should be able to channel that into power as well." Holding their hand above Shi he felt something weird rise through his body.
Eventually the power faded and Shi felt normal, holding his hand out though something appeared in it, Yasuo's flame sword when he became ShineGreymon Burst mode. Holding his other hand out it was quickly filled by Yuudai's sword when he became VictoryGreymon. Huh dual weilding, nice. Thanking the Mastemon the trio departed from the end of time, aiming to use their newfound powers to try and once again stop random humans from dying pointlessly in the digital world, also probably help out wherever they could that was also important.
