[Continued from Runaway]
A.J. drew her hood up closer around her raven hair and hunched her shoulders as she pressed through the crowd. She held tight to Patch, who was posing as a "toy," however, his eyes occasionally flickered around. Never in his life had he seen so many humans! Of course, his lifespan had only been about a month long so far.
"Are you sure we're going the right way?' she whispered.
Patch nodded. "Yeah, just a little ways up ahead, there's a door and it leads to another platform."
"How do you know this? You've never been to this train station, have you?"
She felt him shake his head against her chest. "No, but I just know. Us Digimon know how to get home," he said, a slight hint of humor in his voice.
That was kind of how pets were, she recalled from a cat she had had once in Italy. It had gone missing for three days and then returned. They continued walking and walking. Soon the crowd began to clear up some, plus it was very very late. When she had left her house, her parents had already settled in for the night. Now, thinking of her parents, she felt a twist in her chest and a drop in her stomach. She shook her head, trying to lose the thoughts. It was too late now anyways.
Finally, they had arrived, or at least she guess they had since Patch was struggled in her arms. She let him down and he bounded over to a door with a strange pad. "Patch, I think we have to have some kind of code. I don't think we can get in."
He just gave her a sour look, amber orbs glaring. "You know I kind of came with a package deal."
She blinked and glanced upwards in thought. "Oh....oh!" she exclaimed and dug in her pocket. Pulling out the little grey and white D3, she moved forward and waved it in front of the code panel. A snap and hiss signaled that they were permitted to enter. Baby blues widened and she stepped over the threshold cautiously. In front of her, a train stood, but this train was not silver and sleek like the ones Japan was known for. No, this thing was alive. While it had the shape of a train, four eyes dotted the face and a huge maw of teeth, yet the smile was benevolent.
Patch bounded over closer and grinned, standing up on two leg's to give an introduction. "A.J. this is Trailmon. He's responsible for transporting people and Digimon to the Digital World. Let's go!" Just as Patch said that, a door slid open on the Trailmon's side.
"Nice to meet you," she nodded courteously and entered the train. He looked around and strangely enough the inside wasn't full of guts or organ as she thought, but rows of seating and poles just like a normal train. Sighing, the raven-haired tamer slid off her backpack and sat down, letting her head fall back as the train began to move forward.
