Just like any kid living in Tokyo, specifically in Shibuya, Ryu lived in a 5-story apartment building with his father, Ryosuke Yoshida. Though before his parents' divorce, they originally lived in Minato in a 3-person apartment. But due to him moving out at 9 years old, he didn't have time to decorate his old room until he turned 10.
On the door to his bedroom was a sign he made himself that has a similar design to a "KEEP OUT" sign with the tape colored in red and green, and had a crudely-drawn red eye in a similar design as his Kuremon/Tsumemon partner and said, "For Ryu's Eyes Only!".
Inside, Ryu's room was not unlike any room you could see in a family's Japanese apartment. A bedroom decorated with green wallpaper littered with several game and anime posters, a red wooden floor with a green carpet where he often sit while he played his video games. Despite his mischievous and rebellious nature, his room was less messy with the floor only littered with his toys, some T-shirts, game controllers, and crumbs from his snacks, which he often cleaned up before he left for school or arcades.
As for furniture, it consisted of his bed with a red comforter blanket, an oak wood desk filled with his school stationary and gaming personal computer where he played his FPS games, coded his homemade games, and do his homework, a small flat-screen TV and his gaming consoles he owned from his birthday gifts such as Gbox Series 7 and Gindento Shift, and a toybox that contained a variety of Nerf guns and darts, role-playing toys, and old portable game consoles. There was also a small trash can near his desk, which not only contained some snack wrappers he threw in but also crumpled piles of scratch paper of math equations, mostly from Ryu's frustrations on trying to solve them without a calculator.
Also, he has a big bean bag chair he won in an arcade with was shaped like a blue teddy bear's face which he sunk down when he lay down on it, and a red futon he used during winter, which was his favorite and often tried to maintain with his father's help.
Along with his usual furniture were two shelves placed in several directions. The shelf on his left was in front of his bed and desk where he stored his textbooks, papers, notebooks, and other supplies he needed for school. Another was placed near his TV that stored his manga, some instructional books on making video games for kids, model kits he built that he was gifted from his schoolmates, and video games he collected and stored. On the top shelf, there were several photo frames of him and his parents when they were still together. While some of the photos of Ryu and his father were scarce lately, he started to put up printed photos of him and Daten after every adventure in the Digital World and encounters with other Digimon in the real world.
Right next to his bed was another toybox that stored his model kit tools, wires from his game consoles, and spare game controllers along with additional peripherals such as flight stick controllers and analog sticks. Though after he became a Tamer, he sometimes took out the wires to see which one was compatible with his Digivice and in some cases, tried to connect his game controllers to test out his homemade video games on his PC.
After he got Daten, he made a small makeshift bed for him to sleep on as a Kuramon, which consisted of several pillows his father planned to sell and a small purple blanket he had since he was 7 years old. He also placed an old smartphone that his father originally owned before he replaced it nearby to serve as a snack for Daten. Though lately, it remained dormant after he ate all of the data available inside and served as his makeshift toy. Speaking of toys, Ryu also gave him a small toybox of his own filled with makeshift toys he found such as small plushies and trinkets Daten found in their travels. Not only that, he often pushed his bed under Ryu's when his father often came in to check on him to avoid detection.
Lastly was his closet. While it wasn't as large as any closet due to being in an apartment, it contained various shirts, pants, shorts, and jackets his parents bought for him along with some sneakers he bought for himself. It also contained his junior high school uniform and bags he often used for school and travels. Right below his clothes was his laundry basket where he threw his used clothes in for laundry and a container where he and Daten stashed some snacks for emergencies while there was another container where they stored some souvenirs from their previous trips to the Digital World.
Outside of the window standing in front of his desk, he could see several buildings in front of him along with Tokyo Sky Tower, his school on the left, and Shibuya 104. While he wasn't looking outside mostly during nighttime, study sessions, and rainy, or snowy seasons, he closed it along with a green curtain. Even at bedtime, he often closed the window for safety and mostly relied on the air conditioner to help him cool off during summer or warm during winter.
Once Ryu gained his own Digiport function on his Digivice, he later used his room as a portal hub to travel in and out of the Digital World. Because of this, he mostly locked the door to gain cover and in some cases, relied on his father's help on doing so without any suspicions of his disappearance.
Despite the normalcy of his room, Ryu didn't have any complaints about it nor did his Digimon partner. Whether it wasn't unique or not, small or large, this was still home for them. All it could take was time to adjust to his new life after his parent's divorce and if there was a chance, time to reconnect with his father through his room and Digimon.
