This wasn't the luckiest day Armand has ever had in his life and it was all too sudden, too. One moment, he woke up having a normal morning routine in his apartment. The next, he found a stranger copying his routine, whom he claimed to be his Spirit, Shade. He wasn't copying his face and hair (thankfully). Though he seemed to be the same age as him and has black spiky hair similar to his Human Spirit Fraction and Human Spirit along with his red-violet eyes.
At first, he didn't believe this man to be Shade. But after a few instances of his flirting and mischief, while walking to the university, he was starting to have second thoughts. That and he was now in a men's clothing section of the department store with Shade picking out clothes while humming a tune to himself. Armand had to call in late, which was a bit lucky since his lecture won't start until this afternoon. But he had a feeling Shade won't let him go that easily. Besides, he wanted to let him stay away from the university until his questions were answered.
"Hey, Arnie! What kind of shirt do you think looks good on me?" Shade said while showing his Spirit User the said dress shirts. "Purple looks bold and mysterious, but I wanted to try something simple like black!"
Armand groaned in frustration. He was starting to lose his patience with his Spirit. But he took a deep breath and glared at Shade instead. "Does it matter? You're always the one who picked my clothes without my consent first and even took over when I tried to buy one for myself!"
"That's because out of both of us, you're the least-coordinated guy around. I mean, you tried to buy a pair of mismatched socks for work!" Shade countered.
Armand groaned. "How about we discuss my fashion sense later?! Come with me!"
He then pushed the now-humanized Spirit into a nearby fitting room as he shouted, "Hey! I haven't picked out some pants yet!"
Despite his protests, they managed to enter a vacant fitting room and despite the small size, it was spacious enough for Armand to move around a bit.
"Look, Shade. I get you're excited about your new body and all, but we don't know if it's permanent or not. Are you sure you have no idea what happened during your transformation?" Armand asked.
"I told you. I was snoozing within you as usual. When I woke up, I'm suddenly in this majestic form," Shade answered without batting an eye at his host as he was too busy choosing the dress shirts. "I don't know how or why, but it's been so long since I have a body as a Digimon."
Armand groaned. If his Spirit has no clue about his predicament, then it might be a bit more complicated than he thought it was. "Either way, this might be problematic. I know you're happy with your new body, but what happens if you won't go back to normal? No, wait. Let me rephrase that. What if you might not able to Digivolve into your Digimon form with or without me?"
Shade hummed in thought. "Good question. Either way, I do want to remind you again that I. Have. A. Body. I don't know how long will I stay human, but it's better than being trapped in your body without any chance for freedom. So come on, le pote. Loosen up and enjoy this moment for a while with me."
"I rather not," Armand answered in frustration. "You know, I had to delay my lecture because of you. How will you make this up to me?"
The humanized Spirit quickly showed him a white dress shirt and said, "Will this shirt consider as my apology?"
"No."
"Come on! This shirt looks good on you and you know what they say: "Simple is the best"!"
Armand groaned again as he massaged the bridge between his nose. This Spirit was too laidback for his own good! But he needed a good compromise or else, they would be running in circles because of Shade.
"Look, Shade. If I let you guide you around Shibuya and do what you want, would you follow my orders?"
Shade hummed in thought. "Well, are there any more catches than that? I doubt that's the only thing you want from me."
Armand also hummed for a while. "It's just that I don't want you to mess around while we're in public. I understand you want to enjoy your new body, but don't forget why I was chosen to be your Spirit User in the first place. If any Digimon finds out about you turning human, we're going to have a lot of issues. Not only that, I have a reputation to uphold in front of my colleagues and students. If you do, the consequences coming to me will be on you, Shade."
Those words were enough to Shade sigh seemingly in defeat. "Alright, alright! I get it. Yeesh, for a social butterfly, you can be very bossy," he groaned. "Then again, I still need to consider you despite everything. You are my Spirit User and I'm honestly grateful for how treated me."
"If this is how you want to bribe me with false compliments..." Armand threatened.
"No, I'm serious! Honest! I don't know if I have a previous user or not, my brain's kinda fuzzy about it. But for all of your bossiness, you're kinda cool and nice despite me being the Spirit of Shadows." Shade commented and his face started to grow red. "And you didn't hesitate to use one of my forms afterward even outside of desperate situations. You're not like me, but you have guts as a Warrior of Shadow."
Armand was surprised at his words. He was still hesitant to believe his words due to how many lies he made since he made his appearance in front of him. And yet, he couldn't help but believe him. There didn't seem to have any dishonesty in his voice so far. He might as well gave in as he sighed in defeat.
"Merci, I think." Armand then grabbed the shirts and said, "But that doesn't mean I'm going to forget your antics very easily."
"Hey! I haven't decided on the shirt yet!" Shade argued.
"Then stop wasting time and pick already! And no, you can only choose one shirt each. My wallet can't exceed 15,000 Yen!"
The argument occurred a few more minutes before Armand bought everything Shade picked. While they still hadn't figured out the mystery behind his Spirit's humanization, Armand smiled at one realization.
It became a bit lively since Shade came into his life.
