Every day, her routine is the same: attend class, return home, do chores, rinse and repeat. Such a busy schedule barely leaves her any room for a game of chess with a kindly old man at the park. Katsumi's ordinary life would be given a taste of the unexpected when a young girl wearing strange clothes makes her acquaintance one afternoon, against her better judgment. • Compensation with Kima Aiuchi, et al. A brief run-in with a classmate of hers has Katsumi Hirata making acquaintances with his opponent, a boy by the name of Tamaki Suoh. Feeling guilty for her inability to stand up to him, Katsumi offers the other boy a comprehensive lesson in chess, and the two play a remarkable game against one another. As the action begins to heat up between both players, a fox emerges from the wilderness and, in a bold move, steals away Katsumi's phone! The group gives chase, but Katsumi is too late to recover the device before the fox destroys it. She does not walk away from this ordeal completely empty-handed... • The Exchange (Solo) Katsumi Hirata returns home with a broken smartphone and worries that her parents will reprimand her for being so careless with it. Taking a risk, she chooses not to inform them about the incident at Yoyogi Park and opts to go about her evening as if nothing had happened. As she helps her mother prepare dinner, the strange object she found at Meiji Shrine suddenly comes to life and merges with her broken phone! She returns to her bedroom and discovers the brand-new apparatus with mixed emotions, unsure of the specifics behind how it got there, or what to do about it. • Novelty with Levi Katsumi Hirata prepares for another day at school, and decides to bring along the strange device that had somehow replaced her old smartphone, hoping to uncover more of its secrets. On her way to classes, she almost runs into a small child wearing clothes that seemed to call on the imagery of sharks. Katsumi apologizes to the girl before swiftly returning to her walk, determined to avoid being late. • J'adoube, Pt. I (Solo) Three days have passed since Katsumi Hirata first came into possession of the strange device that took the place of her smartphone. In the impending approach of her parents' anniversary together, she is called upon by her mother to pick up a present at Yodobashi Camera in Shinjuku. The gadget mysteriously responds to her thoughts and leads Katsumi to the train terminal's nearest available car, only for the vehicle to shut her inside and the whole world to vanish before her very eyes! She loses consciousness before she can process what is happening. • J'adoube, Pt. II (Solo) Three hours after passing out on the train, Katsumi awakes to find herself somewhere that was certainly not Tokyo, and without any answers to the questions that begin forming on her mind. The train's conductor informs her that it is a one-way trip, leaving her stranded in the middle of nowhere with nothing but the phone-shaped device still in her hand. finished |
