Blinking open her eyes, the girl finds herself lying on cold, hard ground. The moon and stars provide the only light, casting eerie shadows over her surroundings. As she tries to stand, a jarring headache hits her like a wave, knocking her back onto her knees. A strange voice rings in her head, but she can't make out what it's saying.
Ho........n..........ka.......? C.........o.......he........us.....?
She's a mess, she realizes. Her clothes are torn and worn, and she can feel bruises, scrapes, and scratches all over her skin. Nothing too serious, but enough to make her wince. She checks her head, but thankfully, there isn't any gaping wound to go with the headache. Or maybe that was worse?
There are two objects near her: a cracked and dented cube, and a bulky electronic device with a broken screen. She doesn't know what they are or how they got there, but they feel oddly important.
Around her, there are nothing but abandoned buildings. The ruins look like they've been deserted for years, standing like old skeletons in the moonlit desert.
She can't remember how she got here. She can't remember what happened to her. She can't even remember her own name. All she knows is that she's alone, scared, and very, very confused.

Walking up from an old forgotten ruin, one step in front of the other came another teenager, an annoyed look in his eyes as he reached the top of the long staircase he had been moving through, a golden sword laid in his hand which he quickly spun around and placed over his back. "No luck today either, Sorry Zu, I know you were hoping he'd of come by now but..." The truth was hard to really say, part of Clay felt back about waking her up from that long sleep instead of leaving her so her friend could come, but no matter how many times they visited the ruins it seemed like no one else visited, or even could visit save Clay himself.
The sword digimon was quiet, a small humming annoyance building up from her that she quickly scoffed away, letting out a sigh instead as she spoke. "It is, quite alright. Thank you, Clayton, for accompanying me here. Sadly, as much as I may wish for his arrival it appears something else must be keeping him from returning." Zu spoke but it was pretty easy to hear in her tone, she wasn't too sure her friend would even come back, if he still cared or even if he was still.... Nevertheless it didn't matter at this point, the ruins were silent and cold, they had stayed in there too long regardless, twas time for the two of them to vacate the area.
However before the two of them could start their trek back to civilization, well a civilization that wasn't currently buried below thousands of years of sand and history something stood out admits the darkness and dimly lit sand, specifically the color pink which felt odd compared to the colors that surrounded it. "Hey, is anyone there?" It was an odd enough coincidence that Clay felt it necessary to call into the darkness, besides he had met more than his fair share of humans AND digimon who made claim to the color pink, if this was one of them then the teen would feel bad about not at least attempting to call out.
"On your guard Clayton." The sword on his back reminded the teen, while he probably didn't need the reminder it was nice to have. Though Clay didn't move his hands from his pockets despite her warning, after all not much he could do with the sword even if he tried.

Voices came to the girl, but this time, they were from nearby, and not from the crazy girl's head. She couldn't make out what they were saying, however, but she sat still in complete silence as they did so. They sounded like they might be getting closer, but the girl wasn't sure what to do. She had no idea what was going on, and it wasn't like answers were just going to pop into her head, or anything. But the girl wasn't sure if people who would hang around ancient ruins at night were typically trustworthy. It pained her a bit to do so, but she figured she should be safe, hide from whoever was approaching, and see if she can follow them and get some answers. That seemed like the safest bet.
But then, out from the darkness one of the voices called to the girl, and she froze. Not out of fear, but rather... it was hard for the confused girl to put it into words. But for some reason she felt like hiding would be extremely impolite, and she absolutely couldn't allow herself to be impolite.
"Yes," She called back out. "I'm nobody suspicious," Probably. "I'm just... passing through."

Well someone called out back at least, making sure to specify that they were no one suspicious which was quite honestly the most suspicious thing someone could probably do at a moment like this. But the voice that called back didn't sounds like they would be anyone too dangerous, then again he did meet a digimon that sounded like a little girl who completely flipped him one time so in this world it didn't mean much.
However aside from that they also sounded familiar? Clay quickly started walking towards the sound and he managed to spot the pink color that invaded the ruins. Well less just the color and more a person, who Clayton had met before. "Honoka?" Clay questioned as he started walking closer, once he saw the state of her clothes and wounds that walk quickly gave way towards more of a run. "H-Hey, what happened? Who did this to you?" Clayton asked as he held his hand out to help her up as the sword on his back switched forms back to the golden digimon.
"Clayton, you know this girl?" The now not sword but still kinda sword like sword asked. It was when she was away but still, he seemed decently worried.... Then again she was pretty sure Clay would act the same way around actual strangers who were hurt too so fair's fair.

Honoka... that was the name the complete stranger, who seemed to recognize the girl, called her. And thankfully, the stranger's golden companion used the boy's name, Clayton. And judging by the way the golden creature was talking, the girl, who was apparently named Honoka, wasn't expected to know the golden creature, but rather the boy, who was apparently named Clayton.
But the girl found several things odd. First off, someone apparently knew her, name and all, and she was hoping that hearing her name would... trigger something in her, like opening a floodgate of memories. But no such thing happened. The girl's name was probably Honoka, but it wasn't like she remembered that herself or anything. Judging by how he reacted when he noticed the girl's condition, this Clayton fellow seemed on the up and up, and it wasn't like he would've known about the girl's memory loss to take advantage of the situation, so the odds of this Clayton guy giving the girl a fake name were practically nonexistent. Though the fact that the girl even suspected this in the first place said more about this Honoka person she was supposed to be.
Secondly, the girl felt like there was something odd about the golden creature. Like the very fact they existed at all was supposed to be shocking. And yet, whether it was because her lack of memories or something else entirely, the girl wasn't particularly concerned by it. Sure, it had some sharp features you probably wouldn't want to bump into by accident, but the girl didn't find the golden creature threatening. So the golden creature was something out of the ordinary, but it was still something that Honoka was used to.
The girl was hesitant to take Clayton's hand, instinctively insisting on getting up herself, but honestly found it to be a bit of a pain. For a second, the girl wondered if this Honoka person disliked this guy or something. He seemed alright, so she took his hand out of simple guilt for something she had absolutely no memories for.
Still... explaining everything to Clayton and his golden companion would be kind of a pain. He seemed like a good person, but it was because he seemed nice that the girl didn't want to involve him in her troubles.
"Honestly, I can't remember anything about what happened, Clayton," She answered, as if she were used to talking to him. "I just woke up in such a strange place, and I haven't been able to get a good bearing for where I'm at!" She let out a playful giggle that she probably shouldn't have, considering her injuries, but she suffered through the pain to keep up the facade.
Honoka turned to the golden creature and placed a hand on her chest as she declared with a friendly smile, "We haven't met, right? I'm Honoka, and I'm a friend of Clayton's!"

Clay couldn't help but notice the hesitation before she took his hand, there was something about the way she was looking at him that seemed a bit off, like she didn't recognize him. Then again Clayton had only met her one other time, maybe she forgot about him? Regardless it doesn't matter, she was hurt and needed help, that much was pretty clear regardless of the situation. Eventually she took his hand though and he helped her back on her feet. "There we go." Clay said as he let go once, he was sure she wasn't just gonna tumble over again with a smile.
So she did remember him, well that was good. He was worried for a moment that something even worse might've happened, also the aside part that he was just glad he wasn't as forgettable as he thought! "Can't remember huh? Might've hit your head a bit hard." Clay almost reached his hand out to check if she was ok but, quickly threw it behind his head remembering that people usually liked personal space, even if hurt. "Well, thankfully I was around. You're in the area to the west, some old dusty ruins... No offense Zu." Clay quickly added once he recalled that she kinda sorta used to stay in one of these dusty ruins.
"Some taken, indeed we haven't. Ny name is Zu, a pleasure to meet you." Zu responded doing her best to return the smile, she didn't do well but the spirit was still there.
Speaking of Spirits that made Clay remember, well not actually he remembered on his own I'm just a disembodied voice with no input. "Oh hey, maybe your spirit saw what happened? I mean couldn't hurt to ask right." Clayton said as if that was the most normal thing to mention to someone, however to someone without memories that question might be a bit harder to answer.
