Resentment of the Archer [Adrian]

Post by Adrian Boriker on Apr 6, 2024 14:25:56 GMT
After brief introductions were made, Arbormon commanded all of his employees besides Golemon and Ogremon to follow Adrian and Shoutmon to the bridge. As Adrian drove and explained what was going on, the view of the fight was becoming more and more clear. It looked pretty intense, which made sense considering that there were a lot of heated emotions between Rory and Sagittarimon, yet neither he or Shoutmon could see them quite clearly just yet.
Arbormon seemed to know exactly which Digimon group that Adrian was talking about. The wooden Digimon stated that they've been dealing with them ever since they built Rosewood. "Yeah, Shoutmon and I dealt with some of them ourselves when we were helping with construction. We managed to convince them that what we were doing was good, but this Sagittarimon wasn't going to be so easily convinced."
Soon they'd pass by the battle itself. Arbormon mentioned that it was a Sagittarimon and a Flaremon fighting it out.
"Wait, what?!"
Adrian and Shoutmon looked at the scene themselves and sure enough, where Rory should've been was now a large orange lion-like Digimon with a large yellow mane, a fiery tale, and a white underbelly. "Rory... I can't believe it... he Digivolved!" Shoutmon had the biggest smile on his face than Adrian had ever seen. That was the look of a proud-as-hell father right there. Arbormon asked if that was his son. "Yep, that's my son the Flaremon alright!"
Adrian and Shoutmon decided to take Arbormon's offer to stay behind and watch the fight, since he and his team pretty much have the bridge handled. They watched as Rory fought Sagittarimon not only with his powers and techs, but also his words. He gave Sagittarimon ample chance to surrender, but the archer Digimon kept on refusing. Whatever would happen next would be of his own doing.
Sagittarimon eventually revealed his true motive: jealousy. He was jealous of everything that Rory had, and that in tern seemed to lead him down the path to becoming a jerk and not-so-good friend in return. Then Rory was shot with a Chrome Digizoid arrow, an act that had Shoutmon almost want to jump in to the fight himself to protect his little boy. The newly-evolved Flaremon had this handled already, attacking Sagittarimon with a spiral fire attack in response. Shoutmon knew that his little man had grown up, and he had to handle things his own way.
Once again, Rory commanded Sagittarimon to stand down. Both sides were hurt by this point, and Rory was the only one trying to offer the situation to end as peacefully as it could. Adrian and Shoutmon watched with bated breath, ready to jump in at a moment's notice if they were needed.

Rory kept his eyes locked on Sagittarimon following his attack. He flicked his ears as he heard Shoutmon and Adrian arrive too, and while a part of him was glad to have them watch him, he kept his attention on the task at hand. Get Sagittarimon to stand down. He thought of what to say that could make this happen. Of course if only destruction was on the cards, he’d fight to the death, so he thought about offering him an out. He had long recognized the loneliness that Veemon had in their time in school together, which was one of the reasons why he offered to be his friend in the first place, only to have that backfire like this. But as long as they were at a standoff like they were at the moment, Rory relied on his wits to help the matter. “Look. It doesn’t have to be like this, Saggy.” he said, remembering that Veemon liked nicknames. “You don’t mind if I call you that, right?” he asked as an afterthought of politeness. At first Sagittarimon looked back at him fiercely, but seemed to second-guess what he was doing in that moment. Rory could tell, even though he had landed a hit, he couldn’t fare well in directly attacking him again, not with what powerful fire attacks Rory was capable of now. “...you wanna arrest me don’t you?” he asked, quietly. “Throw me in the klink forever.”“Well of course you’re gonna be put under arrest, you were about to blow up a railway bridge to a freaking school, what else do you think we’d do?” Rory countered with a hint of exasperation, then sighed, realizing that he had to help his former friend down from the mess he had made for himself. “But if you come quietly, it’ll be better for you. Listen, I get why you’re doing this. You didn’t get the opportunities that digimon like me got, and I’m really sorry for that, but, it’s not too late, pal. Just back down, disarm whatever explosives you have set up here, and I’ll vouch for you. Just please take that step back.”For a moment it looked like his words were starting to sway the dragon centaur digimon. He muttered something. Rory didn’t hear, he took a few steps forward. “Sorry, I didn’t catch that.” he said, quietly. “...I can’t step back, he’ll kill me.” Sagittarimon muttered. Rory’s eyes widened. “Who?” he asked, horrified that there may be others present here, watching. “The Archer.” Sagittarimon mouthed. Rory then understood, if Sagittarimon voluntarily surrendered, it seemed there was a hidden force present that would take him out. “You see… my situation is hopeless.”As he said this, his body glowed. Rory jumped back in alarm. And to his shock, Sagittarimon shrunk in size, back to that of a rookie level digimon, the Veemon he had known in school. And a golden object fell from his person, a yellow digimental with a crest resembling a shining sun, rolling across the ground before it shattered into data. “That was a digimental…” Rory remarked. “But… they don’t just shatter like that… what is this, Veemon?!””Rocksalt Arrow!”Before Rory could react, a projectile hit him from the opposite bank of the river. It hit him in the chest, partially piercing through his new chest armor. He tried to step back, but found his legs weren’t working properly, and ended up falling to a knee. He glared in the direction of its origin, and saw another digimon approaching. A bizarre marionette-like digimon, sprawling with arrows and glaring right at him with the one eye not obstructed by hair. And given that he was approaching in midair, not via the bridge, Rory gathered he was a very strong digimon indeed. “Sir! Zamielmon! I’m sorry…” Veemon fell to his knees in apology. “I didn’t mean this to happen…”“But you failed regardless.” Zamielmon answered, reaching the side of the riverbank they were standing on. “You had the one job. Stay quiet and let the Trailmon cross the bridge, then that would have fulfilled your mission. But no, you had to turn it into a theatre like this and ruin everything. Even the digimental we gave you couldn’t stand your failure. Now you’ve left us open.” he raised his arm, a crossbow forming on it, its arrow pointed at Veemon. “So all that’s left is to shut your mouth so it doesn’t ruin any more of our plans.”Veemon yelped and braced, but the arrow that Zamielmon launched didn’t hit. He opened his eyes and gasped to see that Rory once again had blocked the arrow, it pierced his arm sure enough, but it was stopped. “I won’t let you kill him.” Rory declared. “He’s both my prisoner and my friend.”“Fair enough, now that a pawn like you has evolved to rook, it’ll settle our goals to take you out too.” Zamielmon said. It was in this moment, his body temporarily immobilized by the Rocksalt Arrow that Rory knew he was out of his league. “Dad!” Rory cried out, probably for the first time in his life he said these words. “Dad! I need your help now! Please!”

At the moment, it seemed as if Rory was trying to end things as peacefully as possible with Sagittarimon. He explained that while Sagittarimon would still be arrested, things will end better if he turned himself in peacefully, and he even offered to vouch for him when the time came. Adrian and Shoutmon looked at each other and smiled before turning back to the confrontation ahead of them. Maybe there was still hope for Sagittarimon's redemption yet.
Sadly, things didn't turn out that way. Sagittarimon was hesitant to step down, and claimed his situation was hopeless due to someone named The Archer. Sagittarimon's body glowed and shrunk down, reverting back to a Veemon as the Digimental of Hope fell to the ground and shattered.
"Didja see that?" Shoutmon asked, his eyes widened.
"A Digimental," Adrian said with a nod "but those things aren't supposed to break. Someone must've given that to him."
Then as if out of nowhere, an arrow struck Rory in the chest and the Flaremon was forced to bend down to one knee. From that arrow's origin point, another Digimon entered the scene. Some kind of green marionette Digimon with long purple hair and a whole bunch of arrows. Shoutmon shuddered when he felt the digital signature, as this Digimon had the strength to back up whatever he was planning on doing.
"That must be the one who did it..."
Veemon tried to apologize to this "Zamielmon," but the high level Digimon was all too determined to end Veemon's life right here and now. And he would've too, had Rory not stepped in to stop the arrow. It pierced his arm and it looked like it hurt badly, but Rory still stood his ground against Zamielmon and declared that he would protect Veemon with his life. And that is when Zamielmon did the truly stupid decision to threaten to murder Rory right in front of his own father.
Rory didn't have to call for his dad; already, Adrian and Shoutmon were running on the scene. Adrian held out his Digivice, activating it and allowing Shoutmon to evolve from his Champion level form to his Ultimate level form, OmniShoutmon, who dashed right in and gave a solid punch to Zamielmon's face, intending to send the archer Digimon flying.
"Hands off of my son, you ass-wipe," OmniShoutmon growled, his body charging with a gold-colored energy.
"We won't let you get away with this anymore!" Adrian declared. He focused his attention over to Veemon. "Veemon, over to me if you want to stay alive!"

Zamielmon had near to no awareness of Shoutmon’s presence before he appeared. He was primarily focused on Rory and Veemon, and it was only the light of the evolution that caused him to look up, and see a furious golden digimon rushing toward him. He had no time to turn his aim though, and the punch connected, knocking him back about 50 feet. He seemed to regain his position in midair though, glaring as he wiped his cheek, feeling sharp pain where he had been struck.
“Tch… should’ve realized that Owen wouldn’t have sent this rook out alone…” he muttered, realizing now who he was dealing with. “You’re known to us, just as ‘Shoutmon’, partner of the human ‘Hadrian’, so named after the human Roman Emperor who built a wall between England and Scotland…”
Rory honestly had no idea what he was talking about here. He gripped the shaft of the arrows launched into him, wincing in pain as he felt them piercing his flesh. Adrian then told Veemon to run to him if he wanted to live. Rory nudged him in that direction. “Go. He’ll keep you safe. No further harm will come to you. Dad will sort this guy out.”
Veemon, clearly terrified of these developments, gave a wordless nod and ran toward Adrian. Meanwhile, Rory felt the effects of the immobilizing arrow wear off, so he was able to move again. It was quite agonizing at first, with a wave of pain rushing through his nerves as they regained their feeling, but he was able to act now. He flicked his tail to the wound on his arm and invoked the power of his Holy Ring. ”Light of Hippocrates!” he cried, and his data rejected both the arrow and partially mended the wound it caused. The second arrow still in his chest would have to be dealt with later, given its immobilizing effect was no longer a hindrance.
“So, you’re actually “The Archer” here?” Rory asked Zamielmon, feeling more confident now that the arrow wounds in his fighting arm had mended. “And I gather that you’re in charge, so we should learn much more when we take you into custody as well.”
“That’s certainly one of your options…” Zamielmon replied, regaining something of a smile after the initial shock of OmniShoutmon’s punch wore off. “You won’t like the payoffs though. First, the bridge. Don’t think the bombs we set don’t have an alternate means of detonation!”
At once he revealed a small device that looked like a detonator. He pressed the button and seemed to be expecting something, but turned to the bridge in surprise. “What? Why…?”
“Yo! That plan of yours sure blew, not in the way ya wanted though!” Arbormon called back up from the river gorge, his crew having completely disabled and discarded the explosives. Zamielmon glared, but shot his gaze back to the Perfect level digimon facing him fifty feet away.
“Well, that wasn’t the only failsafe.” he said, pointing to Rory. “That arrow in you contains a deadly poison that will take effect in about three minutes from when it landed, considering how close I landed it near your digicore. So you can either pursue me, or let your son die quite an agonizing death. I’m not sure if it would render his remnant digiegg intact if you leave him as is…”
Rory’s eyes widened at these words. He stared down at the arrow still stuck in his chest. It had done weird things to his motor functions, true, but he had just evolved, and had never experienced an attack such as this.
“Oh, and have fun with this bomb, it goes off in ten seconds.” Zamielmon said, raising another large arrow and launched it onto the track in the middle of the bridge. The arrow struck hard into the wooden sleeper, a time bomb clearly present halfway down its shaft. “Au Revoir”, and with that, he made an attempt to escape, rushing back toward the forest.
“Dad, the bomb! Hurry!” Rory urged OmniShoutmon, that was the most urgent threat at the moment. He had time to figure out how to deal with this poison on his own meanwhile. All he had to do was focus his Light of Hippocrates technique to be rid of the poison, but only once he had recharged his energy. If three minutes was his limit, he'd easily reach that time.

OmniShoutmon had to admit, he felt good after getting such a surprise hit on Zamielmon like that. He could tell that the Archer was hurting where he was struck, as evident by the way Zamielmon wiped his cheek. The Archer glared at Adrian and OmniShoutmon, but apparently Adrian was actually Hadrian, named after the human Roman Emperor who built a wall between England and Scotland. Both partners would share comedic confused expressions at each other before looking back at Zamielmon.
"I don't remember learning that in History class," Adrian quipped as Veemon went running towards him.
"Where do you get your sources from?" OmniShoutmon asked. "A Tamernet conspiracy blog?"
As Rory healed himself from the attacks, Zamielmon basically revealed himself as the mastermind behind this attack, as well as their anti-human group in general. He pulled out a detonator to blow up the bridge, only for nothing to happen when he pressed the button. Arbormon and his crew showed their faces shortly afterwards, as they had completed their task to de-bomb the bridge during the fight.
"We already knew about that, genius," Adrian told Zamielmon. "We were just lucky we stopped Arbormon and his crew in time so they can disarm the bombs on the bridge."
That wasn't Zamielmon's only fail-safe, though. He revealed that the first arrow he shot Rory with had a poison that would kill him in three minutes, a very painful and agonizing death that would likely not even leave a stable digiegg left behind. Hearing that did not sit well with either Adrian or OmniShoutmon... especially the later, whose facial expression went from shock to pure anger in a manner of seconds.
"̸I̷'̵L̷L̷ ̶F̷U̴C̷K̸I̶N̵G̶ ̴K̵I̷L̸L̵ ̸Y̴O̶U̶!̸" OmniShoutmon growled at Zamielmon, causing his voice to distort slightly and startle Adrian somewhat. Sadly, it seemed as if Zamielmon was going to get away after all, as he shot a bomb arrow in the middle of the bridge that would go off in ten seconds before he slipped away into the forest. As much as OmniShoutmon wanted to chase down that archer and rip him apart limb by limb, Rory was right; the bridge was more important right now, then healing Rory would be.
OmniShoutmon shook his head and dashed towards the bridge, ripping the arrow right out of the plank of wood it was stuck on. He used his immense strength to throw the arrow into the sky as hard as he could, letting it blow up in mid-air without damaging anything almost like a firework. Once that was dealt with, he immediately raced back over to Rory.
"Please tell me you're going to be able to heal it," OmniShoutmon said with an immense amount of worry in his voice. He knew Rory was a healer just like Skye was, but he wasn't sure if Rory's healing ability would be enough to heal a poison like this quite yet.

“Oh, we have many sources, many of them written by humans no less.” Zamielmon replied to OmniShoutmon. “And all of them show that humans are bad for our world.”
The snarl that OmniShoutmon made at Zamielmon was enough to make Rory tremble a little. But thankfully he tended to the more urgent of Zamielmon’s threats, the bomb in the bridge. OmniShoutmon was able to dislodge it and threw it away. Its explosion was immense, and would have done severe damage to the bridge if it had been allowed to detonate from its position.
But now there was the matter of Zamielmon’s other threat. The arrow in his chest. Rory tried hard to keep himself calm. The power to not only destroy a digimon but their digiegg as well was a well-feared power throughout the digital world. But he had trust in his Holy Ring. He focused his power as Skye had taught him, closing his eyes as he felt its power return, and then he drew out the arrow, seething in pain, but the light from his healing ability quickly closed the wound and soothed the pain.
Then there was just a matter of waiting. Rory was still slightly worried, but having his father there helped reassure him that things would be okay. The seconds passed, and he felt… nothing. Rory had experienced poison before, in an unfortunate encounter with a Flymon, thankfully with healing abilities and antidote readily present, but this felt nothing like it. It felt… just fine.
“Dad, I think he was lying.” Rory said, once three minutes had passed. “I don’t feel anything remaining… or otherwise my new healing technique is stronger than I thought. I feel fine… just… a bit exhausted…”
It was at this point that the Flaremon’s body glowed with white light, then shrunk. He had reverted to his Rookie level Coronamon form, given the amount of energy he had spent in that battle. When the de-evolution was complete, Rory examined his body, thankfully everything was as it should be, but he’d probably need a day or so of rest before he could be strong enough to evolve again.
“Oh, my jacket…” he suddenly remembered, then saw to his dismay that it had been ripped apart by his sudden evolution to Flaremon. His voice was also much higher pitched than he was used to speaking, having spent so long in his Champion form. “Aw, I sound like a kid again.” he muttered. Still though, things had worked out for the time being.
“So, now that this is all out of the way, how about we all head back to the school?” he asked the group. “We’ll take Veemon with us, and we can ride Trailmon there with the work crew, then we can report to Mr. Owen what happened, and hear what Veemon has to say for himself.”
Even as a rookie level, Rory’s stern gaze was enough to intimidate Veemon so he had to look away. Satisfied, Rory turned to the crew on the bridge.
“So is it safe to cross?!” he called out to them.
“Yep, should all be fine!” Arbormon assured them as he helped his workmates back up to their side of the gorge. “Best go slow over the old thing though, don’t wanna strain her.”
Well then, that seemed to be that. Rory was disappointed that they weren’t able to chase after Zamielmon, but they had at least secured a prisoner. He turned to his father. “Are you okay to return, dad?” he asked, still a little shaken by how fierce he had sounded before.

After he shielded his face from the initial impact of the blast, Adrian let out a sigh of relief when the bomb exploded without damaging anything. It was a far bigger explosion than what would've been expected from an arrow of that size as well, and it definitely would've destroyed the bridge had it been left where it had been shot. Adrian was sure that that wasn't the last they'd hear from Zamielmon, but right now they had another issue to deal with: the poison in Rory's chest.
Or rather, the lack of any poison. The three minutes went by after Rory healed his wounds, and nothing else happened. Either Zamielmon lied about the poison (which was definitely likely) or Rory's new healing technique was far stronger than he thought it was. OmniShoutmon let out a sigh and smiled at his son. "Either way, I'm just glad you're okay- Rory?"
OmniShoutmon watched as Rory began to glow and shrink down all the way back to his Rookie form. Not only was his green jacket torn up when he Digivolved to Flaremon, but now he had his original voice back from when he was a kid. OmniShoutmon chuckled a bit before he too dedigivolved back to his own Rookie form. "Go back and forth between forms enough times and you won't even notice it after a while."
With everything seemingly wrapped up here and the bridge being deemed safe to cross, Rory figured that now would be a good time to move on back over to the school with the work crew and report to Owen what had happened here. Before they moved on, Shoutmon felt like he had to say something to Rory about his sudden anger, while Adrian headed for the Trailmon with the work crew and Veemon, particularly to make sure the latter didn't run away.
"Yeah... yeah, I'm okay. But, uh, Rory... about what happened, with me snarling at The Archer like that. I hope I didn't scare you too badly. You've really only seen my good side so far, but I have a pretty nasty side as well, as you saw for yourself. Adrian, Skye, and Luneth have seen that side of me before, but you and Gem haven't and I just... I don't want you to be afraid of me. However angry I get, I will never direct any of that towards you guys, that much I promise. And also... I'm proud of ya for Digivolving." Shoutmon placed his paw on the non-flaming part of Rory's head and ruffled the fur on top, a big smile present on his face.
After this particular conversation with his son, Shoutmon clapped his paws together. "Right, then! Onto the Trailmon with the work crew, then we'll talk to Owen and with Veemon there..."
Groooooowwwll~
Shoutmon looked down in surprise, as his stomach had just growled and interrupted what he was saying. "Hoo boy," he said as he placed a paw on his stomach, "and then hopefully we can go and get some lunch. Digivolving takes up way too much energy. I'm sure you must be starving too, right, Rory?"

Rory was at least relieved that Shoutmon too de-digivolved to Rookie as well, making him feel a little less vulnerable. If things were safe enough to do so, then that was some reassurance. Although he supposed such matters were different from solo digimon like him and partnered digimon like his father. But he decided not to dwell too much about that.
“Yeah, sure will take some getting used to…” Rory mused. “Shame I didn’t get to see what I looked like as Flaremon, but at the least I felt hot…” he realized he was speaking without decorum there for a moment, then shook his head to try and focus on what was important here.
Before they proceeded, Rory held back and listened to what Shoutmon had to say about what happened back there, that he had a less pleasant side that could grow wild and vicious. Rory smiled and nodded. “It’s okay, dad, I’m well aware of that part of you, given that half of my data derives from you.”
He flicked his tail to show his Holy Ring. “Sometimes I get mad too, but this thing that I got from mom’s data usually seems to keep it in check. Even if I’m faced with sheer injustice, like, well, just a few minutes ago, I feel reassured that I’ve been put on this world to heal and make things better, not destroy them.”
But there was an awkward remnant of what Shoutmon said that he thought he needed to respond to. “Dad, please don’t ever let rage overcome you.” he asked. “If you do, you’ll hurt more than you mean to protect.” Rory wanted to divulge more, but supposed that was all that needed to be said. He was made partly of Shoutmon’s data after all, and partial memories of what he had been like were present in Rory’s mind.
In the next few moments, the Trailmon Mole approached the bridge, stopping before them once Arbormon and the work crew were fully assembled. “So… no more bombs I hope?” he asked.
“Nope, all dealt with.” Arbormon assured him. “Although they were pretty nasty bombs… would’ve taken one as a sample if it’d been safe, but given that Zamielmon guy tried to detonate ‘em all as a last ditch attack, glad I didn’t. So then, we all good to head to the schoolhouse?”
“Yeah, we are.” Rory said. He would invite Shoutmon and Adrian to ride on the Trailmon’s back instead of the carriage, just in case there were other things they needed to look out for. Meanwhile Veemon was kept in the carriage, closely guarded by Ogremon and Golemon. But thankfully all was fine as they crawled over the bridge at low speed. The only eventful things that happened was Arbormon using his long puppet-like limbs to extend his body to either side to take photographs of the structure, remarking that ideally they should probably build a stronger bridge here, preferably made of steel instead of wood, especially if this was going to be a regular railroad from Rosewood to the new schoolhouse.
“Ahh… solid ground seldom feels so sweet…” the Trailmon remarked as they reached the other side, delighted to be able to return to his full speed as marked by the forest railroad ahead. Before long, they arrived at the schoolhouse construction site.
“Ah! Good! You’re back!” Owen called out to them as they arrived in the siding. But at once the Gaomon sensed something serious had happened, mainly from the fact that Rory and Shoutmon had been reverted to their Rookie levels, and there was a sense of quiet shock from most of the others present. “Uh… what happened?” he asked, in a more serious tone.
“We’d best debrief in private, Mr. Owen.” Rory replied. “A lot of things happened. First, do you have a safe, secure room for a prisoner we need to interrogate later?”
Owen blinked with surprise at hearing these words from Rory in his Rookie form. He was used to jokes and nonsense from when he was this young, but now it sounded different, like he had changed somehow from today’s mission.
“Yes, we can keep a prisoner in the Gymnasium equipment room for the moment, that’s probably the most secure place in the school right now.” the Gaomon replied, taking the situation seriously. He then saw who was being removed from the carriage and sighed as he recognized him. “Veemon… damn it, I didn’t think you’d go this far…”
Veemon looked to the ground, not wanting to meet his former teacher’s gaze. Thankfully it was easy for Ogremon and Golemon to lead him off to the designated room in the gymnasium. Owen then turned back to Rory, Adrian and Shoutmon.
“Okay, then let’s debrief.” he said, offering to lead them into the building. “We haven’t got the windows in place in the staff room yet so it’s a bit breezy, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem today. And given how hungry you sound, we’ll get some chicken curry with rice served quickly, given you’re just in time for lunch.”

Shoutmon chuckled a bit at what Rory said. "Well, I do know what you looked like as Flaremon," Shoutmon told his son with a smile. "You were as fierce as I am as OmniShoutmon, but you also had a calming aura like your mother has. And quite frankly, even if you felt hot, you were cool as hell."
Rory admitted that he knew about Shoutmon's tendency to get angry, considering that he too has felt that anger in the past. The Holy Ring he wore on his tail seemed to help keep his anger in check, however, and it reassures him of what he was placed in this world to do. He asked Shoutmon not to give into that rage, or else he'll hurt more than he means to protect. "I know that, Rory. I've been at this a lot longer than you think, so I know how to keep a lid on it."
Trailmon Mole then approached the bridge a few moments later, ready to head back to the schoolhouse. Adrian and Shoutmon would ride on top of the carriage with Rory to keep a lookout for other kinds of traps. Thankfully the ride back was mostly uneventful, save for Arbormon taking pictures of the bridge and giving some solid advice for improvements. Adrian looked over at Shoutmon. "You doing okay?"
"Hm?" Shoutmon turned his head towards the human. "I'm starving, but other than that I'm good. Why?"
"I just haven't seen you get that angry in a long time. Not that it wasn't warranted since we thought Zamielmon would kill Rory, but still. Just wanted to check in on you, you know?"
Shoutmon blinked, then gave a smile towards Adrian. "Oh, you don't need to worry about that. Everything turned out okay so far, so there's no reason to stay mad."
"Alright..." Adrian said. He wasn't completely satisfied with that answer, but he figured it would be best to drop it for the moment. After all, Shoutmon did seem okay even after that confrontation.
Before too long, Trailmon Mole pulled up at the schoolhouse construction site, where Owen was calling out to them from the siding. He could clearly see that something had happened in the time that they were gone, and wanted to know what that was. It was decided they'd debrief Owen in the staff room, while Ogremon and Golemon would take Veemon to the Gymnasium as a make-shift prison. Adrian couldn't help but feel bad for Veemon as he was taken away, despite his views on humans being less than positive.
As they headed to the staff room, Shoutmon's stomach rumbled again, causing Adrian to chuckle a bit. Owen picked up on this and mentioned that they'd get chicken curry and rice served as quickly as possible. "Heh, you're a life-saver, Owen. I'd like a double or triple serving if that's possible."
"We'll debrief you on what happened out there while we wait then," Adrian said.
