---
Darkness. Swirling around her as time flashed by. Occasional bright lights flickered in the oncoming storm but were soon extinguished by the void of inkiness that swallowed them up. Possibly outside of existence, never to emerge again...
I dunno... that kind of sounds cool. Maybe if I survive this, that is what I will tell them about it.
---
Moving, blurred shadows circled around them. Each one of them a different shade of green, almost like trees that were being blown in the wind. Followed by oddly familiar voices with a familiar way of speaking.
“Maybe he gone…” “Deleted? Well, that sucks…” “Bye bye, KE-KE-KE...” “3-2-1, NOT tellin’ the boss…” “Not it. Hehehehe” “Not it. Dang it.”
They were crowding round a small, square shaped creature, who was laid flat out.
“Wait a sec…” "Alive?" "Both of them? KE-KE-KE..."
Just as he orange bird tried to lift herself up but one of the contorting green shapes moved closer. There was a flash of white and pain flowed through her. The last thing she remembered was falling face first onto stone.
---
Fenixmon awoke what felt like seconds later, in a very dark, cramped room. She was the brightest thing in there. The bright orange plumage almost like flicking flames cast light into shadow. She tried to rise but felt familiar pain cross through her arm and fell back down.
“Now, now. No need to move, quite yet. You’ve been asleep for quite sometime.” A soft voice said, which was also extremely familiar. Her face contorted as she tried to place it. “Seems you’ve had a rough time of it, just like us. Isn’t that right, my former student. I have missed you, greatly. Even those explosive tendencies of yours.”
“Headmaster? Is it really...”
She raised her head and caught sight of a long beard and a face of hair. A warm smile cast over it. “I did what I could in healing your wounds. But, what I can do nowadays is… well, not so much. I apologise.”
“Wait, what? Weren’t you trying to kill us? Just a few moments ago.”
Horrific memories flooded back to her. Flashing before her eyes. A crouched dark shaped at the campfire. Levi knocked unconscious. Zack and Marigold trying to fight against a hoard of Woodmon and the being who had fought them. Him. Panic filled her and she tried with all her might to pull back and to move as far as she could. Her back hit metal. Thick metal bars, across one side of the small room. In her haste, she overturned a wooden bowl and empty water jug.
“Now, now. No need to panic yourself. I can explain…”
Fenixmon looked up and caught sight of the smile again. She didn’t know if she could trust it, not after what had happened before. Not after what it did to Levi and to Zack and Marigold. “I don’t know if I trust…”
“Let me explain now. We were…” Jijimon paused to look at a second, silent person at the edge of the cell. His back against the wall, hat pulled down over his eyes. “Deputymon too, we were both captured by Mimicmon. It took us and used our form, with some kind of dark magic. I can honestly say, I didn’t see it coming…”
“Aye, that varmit done did that… and worse” Deputymon said, lowering his hat even more. Before, gesturing to his pistol body. The metal barrel of his had been bent upwards, seemingly to make him useless. “What’s the point, now.”
“I’m sure they can fix you up once we get out of here. Well, if we do… It’s been months,” Jijimon said with a sigh, placing a hand onto Fenixmon’s shoulder. “I’m not sure what we can do. But tell us, what happened to you. How did you end up here, my explosive student?”
"Well... I guess...it starts..."
But before they could do or say anything more – a loud rustle cut through their whispered conversation.
---
There was a loud scrape of a lock and then a louder scrape of a heavy metal door being pushed open. A dark larger shape, flanked by two others, moved closer to the bars and grinned devilishly at them.
“You, boss. Wants ya.” “Yeah, move it.” “He wants a word… KE-KE-KE…”
The doors flew open and before any of them could react, Fenixmon was pulled by the throat from the cell as it was pushed closed again. “Move, now” The Goblimon cackled as something hard was pressed into her back and she was forced to walk.

“Move it, orange.” “Yeah!” “Yeah! KE-KE-KE!”
A club pushing against her back, she was forced to walk down a dark corridor. Dimly lit by a row of torches, which bounced light from the shadowy, grey walls. Eventually they reached a room, behind a large metal door. One of the three Goblimon pressed numbers on a small keypad, mindlessly speaking them out loud. “15...7...18...5 “
---
Fenixmon’s eyes passed over the room, from ceiling to floor. It was a simple, fairly small room, with a table stuck between them. The walls looked like they had been built from slate slabs, glued into a single sheet. The floor too. A single barred window was at the back of the room, behind the throne-like chair.
All that she wanted to know, was, where she was. Other than, that prison cell and a dark corridor there was nothing to say where they were...
Of course, she had been a part of this group known as Titan, for a considerable amount of time. But, no longer. She had no choice. Either join Titan and help them with whatever they wanted, using the skills learned at the greatest magic school or die on the streets as a nobody. Well, It seemed like a good choice at the time…
---
Fenixmon snapped back to reality the chair turned. “What up, big green?” The words came before she could stop herself. Her beak contorting into something like a smirk.
The face she knew, well. Last time they’d met, the little phoenix had met the business end of his bone club and then was arrested and then almost killed by another one of Titan’s lackeys. “Is this how you greet an old friend?” Again, the smirk and smarm.
Before she could stop it, she was pushed down into a wooden seat opposite Ogremon. His eyes focused on her, far calmer than she had expected him to be. Usually, he would be smashing up the tables and the walls. Painting it with the blood of his enemies, yadda, yadda. While his goons guffawed stupidly at his side.
For a moment, there was silence. Until Ogremon leaned forward. “I want to know one thing. Tell me, you live.” Fenixmon tilted her head, without realizing it. “Yes. That.”
“Look, I didn’t quit the club because it was a good idea. I quit because I decided…” “Decided to help the shark and her do-gooder friends.” Ogremon cut across her. His large green hands splayed on the table top. Excitement coursing across his face. “I want to know where…”
“How should I know.” Fenixmon muttered. Shrugging her shoulders and tilting her head a little. Her mouth curling ever more upwards. “I can’t imagine why you’d want to know.”
---
Before Ogremon or Fenximon could say anything further. The three Goblisquad members jumped forward, clearly to the aid of their boss. Or in attempt to be helpful at least...
“The bosses boss want her gone.” “The bosses boss wants her crushed.” “Or the bosses boss is gonna get rid of the boss! KE-KE-KE...” A loud thwack came out of nowhere as Ogremon had swung his club, taking out the back of his own chair and knocking the three stooges over like bowling pins. They crumpled to the ground, clearly dazed by the force of the club.
“I told you NOT to mention that.” The true vicious personality of the Ogrekin returning in a second as he turned back to Fenixmon.
“Aww pops, doesn’t trust you to get this done without any ‘persuasion’, so you come crawling to me. Even had to get one of your old man’s friends to help you out.”
Before she could do anything to prevent it. His hand was pressed around her throat and squeezing it with all the force he could muster.
“You will help me, or else.”
“Ooo big words, from daddy’s second favorite…” She squeaked barely able to talk through the force pressed against her throat. Her face beginning to turn blue “I’d rather die than help you any more.”
“I warn you, now. This is your final warning. You will help me find the shark or you, that old geezer and your entire school are mince-meat.” Clearly, she had touched a nerve and now she would pay for it.
---
Well, it was a good life. Short as it was. Hope the next one works out better.

Everything was becoming blurred, darkness swelling palpably, before her very eyes. So this really was the end? Its a shame it had to end this way, when she had never even got the chance to speak to…
Before her last breath was taken; Fenixmon’s fell to the ground, rolling and falling against the door. Ogremon had released her, but why. Everything was still dark, clouded… it was hard to focus.
---
“How dare you,” Ogremon snarled at someone who had entered the room. “How dare you get in my way. I don’t care who you are…”
That was the last thing she saw and heard; as the phoenix fell unconscious.
---
“Understand my words, kiddo. This operation isn’t yours any longer.” These words were followed by a buzzing noise so shrill and ear piercing. It caused everyone in the room to fall to their knees. “That’s what I thought, this is Hexagon business now. Straight from the top and I’m very sure you do not wanna mess with them. As stupid as you might be. Got it?”
“TigerVespamon...you ba...”
Seeing red – the Ogrekin jumped up; his bone club in hand. Pulled over his head as if to swing at the figure who stood before him. “Oh man. You really don’t listen, huh. Gear Stinger!”
There was a loud yell of pain and a two crashes to the floor. Ogremon laid on his side clutching a stump of an arm. His cut off hand was lying in front of him. With a loud popping noise, it vanished back into a cloud of data. The bone club rolling away across the room.
"You... bas..." The final words that Ogremon spoke before he collapsed into a unmoving heap.
“I warned you, kid. But, hey. You got yourself a nice war wound. That’s gonna be points for you with the ladies. Since, hey. You’re not gonna be fightin’ anymore. Right?”
The Ogrekin tried to stand up but was kicked back to the ground. “Anywho, hey you three,” the golden figure said, turning on the spot to face the goblins who hadn’t yet returned to their feet after the screeching of what appeared to be wings.
“You might wanna take your boss for some treatment before, good ol’ deletion sets in.”
With a final look at the Ogremon still doubled over in pain. Followed by a cold laugh that filled the small stone room; he moved past the bird as the three goblins picked her limp body up and out into the corridor. More Goblimon peered at the golden figure as he passed, but he paid them little attention. Small fry.
TigerVespamon pressed a button on his wrist which immediately lit up. “Yo, Boss, yeah. I got it done. The plans going ahead. Just like you wanted. I’ll just brief ya, when I get back or whatever.”
As he reached out the door leading to a launch platform. Wings emerged from his back as he flew up into the air. With a burst of speed, TigerVespamon zoomed away like a fighter jet without looking back.
Fenixmon stirred slowly... felt herself being dragged but to where, she didn't know.
