Our tale begins on an open digital plains. Purple grass scrawled across the horizon as a dim sun hovered over a dark and washed-out skyline. This plainsland was not empty, far from it, although it was definitely not one one wold call "lively." This land was clearly once a battlefield of somekind. As far as the eye could see were scattered remnants of a battle fought long ago. Weapons, pieces of armor, scrap metal, and various other tattered objects were scattered about as far as the eye could see. This field held the stories of many great warriors, just being there made that apparent. It was almost as if the data of these fallen warriors ahd seeped into the land, creating an aura of strength that eminated throughout the landscape.
We find Moxie, Vem, and Dol, all rooting through these items. Moxie scanned each item closely, looking for any nickks or damage that would make each weapon or article of clothing unusable. Vem attempted to do the same, however he clearly lacked the same observational skills, and simply tossed most of the items over his shoulder after a few seconds of staring aimlessly. Dol, on the other hand, just sat on top of a ruined cart, waiting for the boys to finish digging through the pile of trash. This went on for a few hours, witht he trio working their way through the battlefield bit by bit, not finding much of value. That is, until moxie stumbled upon something that completely caught his eye. Mooxie had spotted it first, but the other two quickly turned their heads to see a sparkling, metallic object sticking into the ground at an angle. It was a sword, a katana, stabbed direclly into the soil, with a sheen and tang that was almost pristine, aside for a few minor nicks and scratches. As if the oppressive battle aura of the terrain weren't already all encompasing, the feeling around this blade was almost oppressive. It almost called to Moxie, in a nearly frantic way. Against his better judgement, Moxie stepped forwards, having to use both hands to grasp the handle of the weapon. With his full might, he plunged it from the ground, and the blade imediately reacted.
The katana shook violently in Moxies hands and began eminating with a purple glow of data, before a lot tone came ringing out from the tanged metal of the blade. "I am Musyamon, Guardian of Maruea Village." The voice said in a frantic, panicked, yet deep and domineering tone. "Days ago I recieved word of a beast coming to claim the lives of my brethren. I set out to slay it, but it claimed my life instead." The three of them looked puzzled for a second, but a talking sword wasn't the strangest thing they'd seen so they quickly got over it. "So uh, how are you here then, if you'rte like...dead?" Vem asked in a very matter of fact manner. The blade responded "I was slain by the beast, however my will clings to my blade in hopes that I can somehow prevent the destruction of my home." Musyamon cried out. "I beseech you, help my people. I will give you everything that I had once owned." Moxie looked at his team, knowing that this was far from their usual style, but he decided the reward may make the hassle worthwhile. Besides, he would be helping fellow Virus Digimon, so he wasn't completely opposed. "Alright, but i'm not much of a a sword guy." Moxie said as he tossed back the weapon towards Vem, causing Musyamon to gasp as he was tossed through the air and caught by the Sharmamon. He'd pick up one of the items he had scavenged earlier, a Japanese-Style Kiseru pipe, and stuff some digishroom into the end, lighting it with a Petit Flame and sitting down with his arm rested on his knee. Taking a puff of digishroom, Moxie would Exclaim "I think I fit the role of Daimyo much better."while sporting a wicked smile.

The crew began their journey immediately, as Musyamon had let them know that the beast may be upon his village in as little as 2 Hours. As it had a head start, they needed to quickly come up with a plan of how to close the distance between them and the beast. Luckily, this is Moxie we are talking about, and he had already come up with a plan before their prior conversation had even had the chance to end. Using Vem as a beast of burden and having him run the rest of them to the village on a ruined cart sounded insane, but he was managing to keep steady pace so long as he had a steady supply of food as he ran. It was a bumpy ride which jostled everyone within the cart, and somehow Musyaman gave off the vibe that he was about to hurl, despite being just fractal data clinging to a sword. After about an hour of nonstop running, Vem skidded to a halt with a thud as he saw what seemed to be their destination. A japanese style village surrounded by faarmland and windmills was before them, and between them and the village was what they presumed to be their enemy.
A black and red quadrupedal digimon, with some parts horse and some parts man, stood with a bow aimed at a large crowd near the center of the village. Flanking him on both left and right were at least a dozen small orange dinosaur digimon, each of them sporting a topknot and wielding a katana. Musyamon, upon sensing the prescence of his killer, spoke up and stated their name. "Sagitarimon, The Divine Punisher. He is the one who slew me." Moxie winced upon hearing the word "Divine." "I take it he fancies himself a messenger of god, eh?" Moxie said, with a visible bulge of a vein appearing on his forehead. Musyamon would respong "Yes, he claims that his plunder of the Dark Area is the will of Yggdrasil." Moxie would take a deep breath, and suddenly his eyes would dart around the surrounding area for a few seconds. He would then turn to Vem and say, calmly "Alright, we're going to kill him here. Just looking at that horse-faced bastard is setting me off." Vem would nod saying "Roger that." Which prompted Dol to finally speak up and say "Alright, what's the "Brilliant Scheme" this time?" Musyamon was shocked by their callousness. They were treating the beast that had slain him on the battlefield like a mild inconvenience. He had to speak up, shouting "Theres no way you can just charge in there now! Whatever plan you have cooked up can't possibly work in our position!" Moxie turned to the sword, still in Vem's grasp, and showed a cocky smirk. "It's alright Mr. "Honorable Warrior" we've got this from here." Moxie would point out of the carriage window, and Dol as well as Vem began running off in different directions. "Just remember to keep your end of the deal."

The Three Digimon and one talking sword charged towards the enemy, who were currently in the middle of shaking down the villagers for everything they had. The belongings of the villages denizens were strewn about and being searched through by a few of the BushiAgumon as Sagittarimon watched over them. Sagittarimon had keen instincts, so he was the first to notice the small purple devil and dual-wielding goblin charging at them from behind. He'd call out to his minions "Lotus Squadron, we have a few strays coming at us with mean looks! Take care of the vermin while we finish up here." The Agumon all cried a warcry in unison, as 4 of them ran to intercept Moxie and vem on their charge. Moxie would hover midair in a criss-cross position, puffing from his pipe once more before saying "Front, Front, Right, Front" very callously. Vem was the first to intercept a BushiAgumon, parrying one of its strikes with his club, then swiping upwards with a well-placed slash into its body. Before he had even had the change to dissipate into data, Vem phased through his semi-transparent body and slashed downwards into the second one. He was then flanked on his right by a much angrier BushiAgumon, who was parried by the sword this time. This one had the misfortune of being able to process what was happening as Vem raised his club over his head, bringing it down with a thud. As the fragmented data swirled around Vem who stood there with his hands gripping the weapons that struck down his comrades with ease, the final BushiAgumon looked upon Vem as if he was some kind of demon. He'd quiver, looking back at his commander, and then to Vem as he was now approaching him. The nerves proved too much for this warrior, as he dropped his katana and began fleeing into the distance.
Upon seeing this, the rest of the BushiAgumon followed in kind, as Sagittarimon reached out and cried "Stop! Wait for my signal dammit!" As this group of BushiAgumon all charged towards Vem in unison, Moxie reacted with another smug smile. "Phase Two, Feint." He'd say this as Dol appeared around the base of oneof the windmills, which seemed to be teetering as she had systematically taken out most of the bricks forming its foundation. She'd dive out of the way as this large building fell. Only Some of the BushiAgumon had a chance to even look up before being buried under the fallen structure. Yet more data scattered through the air, as Vem, Dol, and Moxie, all climbed over the fallen windmill, now eye-to-eye with the centaur-like digimon. "You think some lowly rookie viruses can deny the will of Yggrasil? Lord Drasil guides my arrow, he guides my hand to do his wishes!" Sagittarimon would stomp very angrily, readying his bow to attack, before he was struck from behind by a large blade. A Ryudamon among had sent a blade towards the Sagittarimon, and as he turned to face him he was struck again, this time by the bamboo sword of a Kotemon. At this point, Sagittarimon looked around, surrounded by the strangers as well as the villagers he was in the midst of tormenting.

"You were banished here, weren't you?" Moxie suddenly said this between puffs from his pipe. Sagittarimon stopped in his tracks, turning his head immediately towards Moxie. Moxie would daintily bob his staff in one hand and pipe in the other, casting magic upon Sagittarimon as he felt weaker and weaker with each shake. "You speak of your god, but yet you are losing. It's clear to me that if you ever were some kind of divine servant, this is your punishment for stepping out of line." At this point, Sagittarimon's body was about to give out; it was a struggle for him to even stand, his knees buckling and failing visibly as Moxie slowly flew to him. He'd use his last bit of energy, crying out in reassurance of his resolve. "You lie! You miserable little creature! Lord Drasil will strike you down where you stand! I, his messenger, deem it so!" Moxie would now be right up close to Sagittarimon, and he'd look him dead in the eye, then let out a chuckle. "You laugh at the will of Lord Drasil?!" he'd say, in disbelief that this little demon wouldn't have any reaction to invoking the name of their god. Moxie would then look up, then fly around in a spin, looking around for something in the air. "Yes, I do, at least in terms of what you just said. Do I look struck down to you?" Moxie continued casting with his staff until Sagittarimon wasn't able to stand, fully prostrated before the group. Moxie would get close to Sagittarimon's head, looking him in the eye with a newly scornful expression. "If you do, by chance, hear from your "God," be sure to tell him that he isn't safe from me." Moxie would then take one last puff from his pipe, blowing smoke into the beast's face as he floated out of his view. Soon after, Vem walked into his eyeline, wielding the blade that Musyamon was bound to. Musyamon let out a sigh, having already collected himself after witnessing his killer's demise. "If God is on anyone's side, it is on mine. I have been blessed with the chance to slay you like you did me." Moxie could be heard laughing as Vem raised the katana to the air over Sagittarimon. He'd cry out, "No! Stop! Wait! You ca-...!!!" but his pleas fell on deaf ears as the blade came down, ending the beast.
Vem would scratch his head with the handle of the blade. "This was way easier than I thought it'd be." Musyamon would quickly snap at him "Don't use me as a head scratcher!!" The Ryudamon and Kotemon who had helped in the fight both walked up, speaking to the talking blade somewhat knowingly. "Big Bro Musyamon, that's you, right?" The Ryudamon exclaimed. "Yes, Ryu, I'm afraid this is all that is left of me. I am barely clinging on to myself as we speak." Cutting into this touching reunion, Moxie would clear his throat, smoke bellowing from his nose as he caught the crowd's attention.
"There's still the matter of my payment." Moxie said through a yawn. Musyamon sounded slightly surprised, but then reassured, "Ah yes, you can have any of my belongings within my house. Swords, Armor, Bits..." Moxie would interrupt him mid-sentence. "I don't care about any of that." he'd then motion for Vem to hand over the blade, which he immediately obliged to. Moxie looked at his own reflection in the glowing sheen of the blade. "What I want is...you." An audible gasp could be heard from the crowd as he said this, but he simply continued. "The data of a powerful, champion-level warrior would do nicely being absorbed by me, instead of dissipating and reforming somewhere else, don't you agree?" Upon hearing these words, both Ryudamon and Kotemon grew frustrated, both readying in fighting stances to take Musyamon''s dta away from Moxie. Musyamon himself then spoke up, saying "Alright..." which caused them both to stop in their tracks. "If the price for the lives of my brethren is merely the remnants of the life I squandered, then I'll happily pay it." Moxie grew a grin on his face as he heard this: "Good man, you've made the right choice." Without a second thought, Moxie would absorb the data of Musyamon into his body, briefly glowing with the data before it subsided. In shock, and awe, all of the villagers watched as Moxie dropped the blade to the ground and the three strangers made their way to the village's exit. The Ryudamon would then outwardly exclaim. "Big Bro, I'm sorry, but you were wrong...! It wasn't God who was on your side; it was a devil!" The three digimon walked off, a purple sun draping the sky as they walked into the milky sunset. So ends the tale of the Muramasa, the blade possessing the soul of a fallen warrior.
