The frosty and forested tundra of the Northern Prominence was laid out around the three travelers as they waded through brustles and brambles and dodge piles of falling snow. Moxie's contact in Snowflake Village had asked him to meet up and discuss the exchange of Blucomon data in order to cold-proof certain facilities he planned on building. That being the case, it was a shame that they didn't have much meansof cold-proofing themselves at the moment, as they all had to trek by foot through the icy and forested landscape. Moxie had done hisbest to wait for a time where blizzardlike conditions were less likely, but, it typical digital world fashion, attempting to predict anything was always a toss of the dice. The three travelers, shifting through ankle-high snow, almost waist-high for Dol, all silently cursed their scenario as they trekked forwards. Moxie, being the one leading the way, stopped in his tracks first. He'd abruptly grab onto Dol and Vem's wrists, doubling back with a sprint before the two of them even knew what was going on. "Eh, Boss?! What's up!?" Vem spurted. "Hey, don't grab me with out permis-!" Dol started, before seeing the veritable wall of snow coming down at them from the mountain that flanked them. Moxie, with his two travel companions in tow, dived into a nearby crevice with the two, mere seconds before the entrance was covered in a snowy wall. Moxie panted, knowing for a fact that that was way too close.
Moxie's new surroundings were far too familiar, a dark cave which now allowed almost no light to pass through. Only small crevices in the encompassing snowbank shines brightly from the closed-off entrance, bouncing light into the cave that was reflected off all the snow overtop of them. He rubbed his head for a second of brief respite, before getting to work, securing the entrance so that more snow didnt fall on them. He used the fabric they were using as a tent to cover the snowy entrance, securing it on the corners of the cave's mouth so that no more snow could fall in on them. The other two were still a bit out of it, as they had barely even recognized that they were in danger before Moxie had swooped them up. "Uh, good save boss. I owe ya one." Vem suddenly spoke up in a dazed tone. Dol then also muttered "Yeah...thanks..." "Don't mention it." Moxie said matter of factly "I didn't expect either of you to be familiar with snowy areas of the digital world in the first place, so it was obviously my job to deal with any environmental stopgaps." Dol's face turned back to her usual grimace "Yeah, right..." She'd then point up to the closed-off entrance of the cave "Any ideas on how we get out of here?" "We wait. Moxie said, using supplies from the pack he was wearing in order to create a fireplace, sparking it with his Petit Flame attack. Dol would look annoyed, immediately retorting "I don't think anyone's gonna pass by this random pile of snow and know we're in here!" "Of course they aren't we're waiting for one of two scenarios." Moxie explained. ""Either the cllimate gets warmer, making the snow slide further down the mountain and making it thin enough to burst through, or it gets cold enough to turn to ice that i can melt through safely. Dol was about to speak up, before stopping with the sudden realization dawning on her that he was probably right. "Alright, so we just wait in here?" "That's the plan." Moxie said flatly. "Great." she'd say, moving to a far corner of the cave. "This is my corner, neither of you dare come bother me." "Works for us." Moxie would say, having already made himself comfortable on the stony ground. Vem would also shrug, resting his head on his hands as he leaned against the cave wall. The three of them sat in silence for hours, each of them drifting off to sleep in their own time.
Moxie had grown accustomed to sleeping with one eye open. While he hasn't made many enemies quite yet, he knew he was bound to do so. This is without even mentioning the more violent kind of digimon that tended to appear in digital wilds such as this. He was now half asleep, his consciousness drifting between asleep and awake. Various flashes of unconscious thoughts flashed before him in his liminal state. Within that sea of distorted images and memories.one bubbled up to the surface. He saw the face of Eda looming above him, gently caresssing his head as her mouth flapped open and closed. Moxie, barely conscious, didn't even realize that his mouth was moving as well. He had no idea how much time had passed before he felt subtle movement jerk acrossed his leg. He immediately sprang alert, only to see Dol leaning up towards him, seemingly having rested by him after he had fallen asleep. It was evident that she had just woken up as well, and the two of them maintained awkward eye contact for about 10 seconds before Dol sputtered. "H-Hey, don't look at me like that when you're the one who started singing out of nowhere!" Moxie looked confused for a second, before putting together what must have happened while he was half asleep. In a very uncharacteristic move, he turned away in embarassment, his mind racing in order to figure out some way to explain this. Dol was genuinely shocked by this reaction. The know-it-all little demon was actually flustered about something. She decided to throw him a bone in a rare moment of reassurance. "Whatever, the song was...nice." Moxie stopped, turned to her for a second, and did something that he had almost forgot he could do. Moxie let out a small, genuine smile. He leaned up against the wall once more, gazing off into the wall as he went to rest once again, and Dol did the same.
