... The Barren Wastelands of the Dark Area.
Normally devoid of any life or significance, the pair were only here in order to escort Rodgers the ChibiMachinedramon. Majin had ordered the scientist Mega to study his Biomerge, to figure out what makes it tick. To find ways to enhance it further in order to better combat other evils. He had to gain an edge somehow. And their search had led them here. To any other wanderer there was nothing more than dust and decay here - for Rodgers, a key material in his research dwelt here.
Black Digizoid.
It wasn't regarding it's durability. The digimetal had odd characteristics. It amplified the dark and negativity. Perhaps by studying it better, they could tap into it's properties. He had to gain an edge, not only for himself, but for the Digital World, too. Right...?
Was he even doing it for the greater good? Or his own? The human smirked. Either way, this world would probably be better off with him sitting in the heavens. This world stagnated under their incompetent rule. He would be the bitter pill, but later on they would all realize he made it all better. He would be a necessary evil.
Rodgers was a few feet ahead of them, going through some rocks in order to harvest a fair amount. He was unusually quiet today - perhaps focused in his work. That was great, he talked way too much anyway. Shadow floated while he did this, his eyes closed, extending his aura far around them. This was a dangerous land, and they needed to make sure nothing creeped up too close to them.

What a drab place this was. Save for a few choice areas there was little going on here. Seemed strange how she only just now realized this. But as of late she spent some time here. This was even where she was reborn.
Beverly was taking flight in her BlackImperialdramon form, with Garm the MutantGaomon in tow on her back (granted, Garm was not actually part of Vexus, but he wanted to come along). Ghost was also "there", albeit resting inside Bev. It was nice to have her back. She was starting to feel a bit empty without her around. And she managed to make some new friends when she was away.
As to why Beverly's here in this area... simply put, to pay Majin a friendly visit. She managed to catch from a Vexus merc the general area he would be located in. Why a visit? Why not? He was an ally and her boss in Vexus. What comraderie could be gained if they only met in group meetings?
After some searching, they saw some familiar faces. With a fast descent, she landed by the group, not at all concerned with whether or not anyone recognized her in this form.
"You guys seem to be keeping busy. Don't worry, I'm just oayinf a visit since I have the time.

The escort seemed mostly uneventful. Rodgers was about done picking up his samples, he just had to place then in small compartments so they could leave. It was then that a presence rapidly approached them. But it was a familiar one.
A dragon landed several feet away from them, stating it's business. It was Bev.
"I never thought you could assume such a form." the BlackWizardmon said, recognizing her aura. It seemed Garm was here too. And something else, he didn't know this other aura.
Majin was curious as to who it was, but taking hints from the conversation, he assumed it was a friendly. This dragon though... It looked powerful. For all he knew, they were probably one of the most powerful in the Digital World. Was this dragon as powerful? Perhaps even more so?
"Fancy meeting you here... Uh...." Majin started, still unsure who it was.
"Bev. It's Beverly." Shadow added. Majin looked down at him, then shifted his gaze at her. So that was her? It seemed like a radical change from her usual self.
"I'm done, you see I AM that great, I made the whole thing more effective with some swift calculations." the ChibiMachinedramon started boasting. Majin took out his digivice and opened a portal for the scientist. He seemed a bit upset, seeing this as a way to shut him up, but he still jumped in. He had work to do for these buffoons.
Majin thought for a bit. "Well, since we're here..." Majin said out loud, tapping a few buttons on his digivice, as it pulsated with a black light.
"Let's have some fun." he said, as Shadow turned into black lightning, quickly arcing up and slamming into the human's frame.
Near-instantly, wings ripped from his back, extending outwards as the Biomerge syphoned data from his home turf; the Dark Area. Once it was done, a demon god stood in the pair's place; Azramon.
He smirked.
"I've never seen the full extent of your powers. Throw everything you've got at me, let's see what you got."

Well, Shadow seemed to recognize her. Majin not being able to wasn't much of an issue as she hardly traveled in this form. In any case, whatever the ChibiMachinedramon was doing, he finished, and was sent away before he could boast up a storm. Bev figured they could talk a bit or something. But Majin had other plans. He took up his Azramon form and challenged Beverly to a fight. She growled out a chuckle at the two.
"Well, I think I'm feeling a bit honored, Azramon. It's quite hard to find opponents we can gague ourselves with. And I'm usually the one to bait out fights, too.
Garm..."
The MutantGaomon jumped off Bev's back without a word spoken. It wasn't too hard to understand that this was something of a duel. And he knew Bev wanted to test her strength.
And being that this was going to be a Super Mega fight, Garm decided to put some distance between himself and the combatants. He would hate to cause Bev to lose due to him being too close. Before he left, though, the two gave each other a look, the Gaomon wordlessly implying that he wanted Bev to try her best. And, with incredible speed, he ran off.
Bev's body faded into purple smoke as a shining figure grew from out of it. Bev went into her Galaclivamon form, and in her true size, being roughly 30 feet tall, even larger than her Imperialdramon form.
"Oh, trust me, this is by no means an attempt at intimidation in case you are wondering. You want my best? You get my full height."
She quickly summoned her staff, attempting to thwack Azramon away. It wasn't much, but it was a simple start to a battle.

Azramon smirked as he assumed a aggressive stance.
"Intimidate? I just see a bigger target!" the demon responded, his body breaking down into multiple shadows as the staff went through harmlessly. The shadows moved about wildly immediately after, ultimately regathering a bit above Beverly, several feet away in case she intended to use her staff a second time.
Extending his wings, the super mega gathered energy - a low hum could be heard as said energy reached a critical point, and a flurry of crimson beams rained down from every feather and every draconian-like wing tip the demon had.
This wasn't any ordinary distraction technique or whatever you might call it. The demon unleashed a sizable amount of energy into the attack, confident the 30 foot tall Super Mega would not be swift enough to dodge the majority of it.

A swing and a miss, Azramon's shadows scurried about in dodging Bev's first attack. Ample chance to counterattack, Bev thought, imagining that this would be his chance to land one on her. The hum of the charging energy did not stop her from immediently flying away. The Galaclivamon was, indeed, a larger target, but she certainly wasn't slow by most standards, narrowly evading the beams and putting distance between them.
She remained in the air as she turned around. It was a fairly impressive first attack, indeed.
She continued to fly, circling him and raising up a clawed hand. Near and behind the demon digimon were quickly forming purple clouds, with three points where they were originating from. These spheres would explode, and the effects of her Nega Poison blow would set in if they connect, all the while the force would send him into the ground. Better yet, the move did more damage based on where Bev was, and being in the Dark Area, against someone like Azramon, a connect would grant her a bit of an advantage early on.

Azramon growled as he watched Beverly fly away from the beams. Despite this, the barrage made its way down to the ground below, setting off a chain of explosions below them. Thankfully, not a lot of Digimon lived in this area, and there was virtually no power policing it either. No one would show up and interrupt them.
"A true warrior acknowledges his opponents strengths. I am impressed with your speed, Beverly." the demon said, as he floated in between three forming clouds and a circling Beverly.
"I assure you, I got a few tricks up my sleeve as well." Azramon added, as he crossed his arms and shadowy tendrils slithered all over around him. He had no idea how this clouds would affect him, so he had to play the defensive now. The shadows spun rapidly around him, forming a veil of protection. It wasn't until the clouds exploded that the spinning shadows conglomerated into a solid sphere, shielding Azramon from the explosion and due to the ricochet effect, the gas as well.
The black sphere crashed into the ground below, creating a crater from the sheer force of the attack. To tell the truth, he had not expected this. Beverly seemed less of a fighter compared to him, but she had proved him otherwise. She was an equal, regardless if she seemed to favor pacifism a bit more.
The shadows retracted, revealing Azramon to be relatively unharmed. The super mega raised a hand, as energy manifested over it. Six black orbs formed, spinning rapidly in a circle.
"I've never used this before, Beverly. Let's see what you got." the demon said, smirking. "Negación! he said in Spanish, as the spheres shot out in different directions around them. Once small, the orbs would rapidly take in energy from the environment, near-instantly growing huge until they covered a circle of around 100 feet.
Now Azramon wasn't sure if she would stick around for that to happen, or if she would even be quick enough to avoid being in it's area of effect. But if she remained here, this would definitely be a whole new kind of fight for her.
If she did, she would suddenly find herself alone, blind and mute... Then she would see again - runes covering the rounded walls of the sphere.... But the sphere would prove to be pretty resilient.

Beverly gave a grin of satisfaction as Azramon complemented her. Probably not hard to see as she was at least 5-6 times taller than him right now.
Her attack hit, but was defended against. So much for early advantage, but it did nothing to make her any less confident. Once he emerged from that black sphere, though, he formed several spheres that quickly surrounded her. To be honest, she thought this was an attack, mistakenly taking up a defensive stance to block the growing spheres.
But there was no pain, nor impact. There was nothing.
...
She tried to speak, and she did speak, but she heard nothing as well. And then, runes appeared.
Here she was in this dark sphere, unable to see anything aside from runes, and hearing nothing. He could attack from any angle, and she didn't want to use her big attacks just yet. Just then, a thick fog quickly formed around her. The radius was large, but not large enough to fill in this dark dome she was in. But if he were to attack her, the fog will make it harder to reach her. With it following her, she flew straight, hoping to reach the boundary in a few moments.

A voice boomed around Beverly.
"Impressive, right? With this technique, my shadow powers are near-infinite." Azramon said, of course lying. His powers were indeed nearly-infinite within the orb, but they were also quasi-real. If she somehow realized they were not real, the illusions would lose power and be almost useless. For now, though, they held vast potential.
Black, eastern-like dragons erupted from the walls of the orb, near her. They intended to circle around her, eventually twisting so much as to bind her in them. Like vines wrapping around a tree.
Meanwhile, Azramon showed up next to the wall that she was flying towards. He smirked, raising a hand up in the air. He was currently wingless. A shadow crawled around his arm, soon becoming a gun. It multiplied itself, creating one, two, three, four, five, six... Until there were twenty guns pointing forward. He wasted no time in unleashing a flurry of shots at her.
In reality, Azramon floated at the bottom of the orb, leaving his shadow illusions to do the work.

Beverly heard his boast and was a bit skeptical. Near-infinite? Probably not, but she'd still have to deal with it.
She felt her fog invaded by dragons, coming in to bind her up. She decided to leave the cover of her fog, maneuvering herself past one danger... and into another, just barely able to block some the not-Azramon' hailstorm of shadow bullets with her wings, but not remaining in place to minimize damage.
What to do about this situation... she had to conserve her strength. Azramon could not keep this up forever, she figured. Near infinite abilities in his own little dome? Certainly had a limit as to how long it will last. And if she played her cards right, she'll make it out of here. But this darkness...
The tip of her staff began to glow brightly blue, thanks to Beverly's Ghast (not Ghost) ability to make bright magical light. Perhaps this will allow her to see a bit more. In her free hand, black energy started to form. All the while she kept on the move again, heading towards, but at the moment not through the dome's boundaries.

She was blinded by the sphere's effects. Even if her staff did light up, would she be able to see it? Azramon grinned; if she wanted to see it, then he would 'allow' it.
But it was different. It started shining as brightly as usual, but then continued shining ever more brightly. Perhaps too brightly. She would potentially find herself even more disabled with this source of 'light'.
As this happened, countless amounts of black web shot out from the walls, spreading around the whole sphere, threatening to bind her up.
The shadow Azramon just floated at the opposite side silently. He lifted his arm, and shadows gathered around it, forming a katana on his hand. He gripped it tightly with both hands, holding it in front of him... And chains appeared around the sword's edge, the blade roared to life with a noise similar to a chainsaw.
"Oh I love this." he said, as he floated towards her. Shadows gathered around him, increasing his size until he equaled her. When he was close enough, he swung his chainsaw katana down at her.

The staff began to glow... and glow... and glow too brightly. Aside from causing deja vu from when Beverly had her arm burned off, Beverly was indeed slightly blinded. She knew how much energy she put into the staff, and her own staff shouldn't be blinding her. This was quite strange indeed.
All the while, she felt herself being restrained by webbing, and she was bound. She deactivated her staff's light, and saw a glimpse of Azramon growing in size, and creating his own shadow weapon to bring down onto her. But during these few moments, she seemed more mildly contemplative than anything else. Not scared or concerned or even struggling. The blade would come down, but blocked by two dark spears which formed from nowhere, and intersecting in an X shape.
She smirked, and chuckled for a moment. She wasn't even trying to escape. Why even waste the energy? She began to speak, even if she couldn't hear herself at the moment.
"Okay... I admit, you had me fooled for a bit, Azramon, I'll give you that. But now it seems like this is all some illusion field, considering what I've seen so far. This isn't exactly something I never seen before, and I am speaking with personal experience here. Once spent a day trapped in a field alone for a year, if you know what I mean."

The chainsaw katana met resistance in the form of two spears. Sparks flew all over as the revolving chains clashed with the opposition. But Beverly looked odd. She smirked, even. Had she realized it was all a ruse?
But how? The illusion kept on charging her, but losing power steadily. She would feel the opposing weight lessen.
He had not gone too far beyond his own capabilities. Crafting a weapon from his own shadows was easily possible. Growing larger by raising a construct around himself was possible, as well. He thought for a bit, on the lower part of the sphere.
The illusion smirked, before shattering away. Perhaps the light on her staff had given it away. He had done well in his own illusions, but had perhaps gone too far with manipulating one of her own abilities. Yes, it was clear now. The demon growled, it seemed his fun was over.
The whole sphere started shattering apart like black glass, revealing the real world. That was a bummer, despite what little damage the whole thing had inflicted on her.
She wouldn't be able to rejoice for too long, however. The shadows slithering behind Azramon tensed up like coils, to then suddenly shoot out towards her at impressive speeds, intent on either impaling with their tips, or slashing with their serrated sides. Of course, he wouldn't aim for her head or something. This was a spar, not a death match.

Despite "Azramon" continuing its approach, once Beverly figured out this was all an illusion, she could feel her bindings weaken. She tore herself from the webs, watching the sword weilding illusion smirk before him, and the dome, shattered and vanished. She felt a small victory in defeating this illusion, as, as mentioned before, this would not be the first or even second time she had illusions inflicted upon her.
In any case, ir was indeed Beverly's light that tipped her off. The staff was, in essense, a part of her. And if it does something she didn't want it to do, then something is wrong.
But her opponent offered little respite as he attacked with his shadow tendrils. They came in quick, prompting the Galaclivamon to retreat slightly by flying, but she still had that energy charged...
"Sword that rends space to nothingness! Ragna Blade!"
A somewhat large blade shot from the energy she stored in her hand, and bringing her hands together, used her staff as the hilt of a sword with a dark blade and surrounded by energy. The center of the blade looked like a hole into some dark dimension, and looking at it from certain angles would cause one to get a headache and eye strain.
She slashed into the tendrils, and if it connected, Azramon would have a brief window to recall them, as they would quickly be drawn into her sword and obliterated. However, Bev would close the distance between them, ensuring she would draw in s much as she could.
(((If connected, minimum Ragna Blade Cool down =2 posts)))

The Shadow Weave went straight in. Sure, he could pull them back at any time - they functioned very much like appendages... but why?
They were supernatural shadow. Able to solidify at will, or assume all kinds of shapes. They were also of no finite amount.
The tendrils were swallowed by the portals, Azramon letting go seconds after meeting resistance. Why hold on? It wasn't even Bev herself pulling at them. The portal wasn't the enemy.
As soon as he let go, however, he positioned his wings so they pointed towards the incoming Bev. They gathered energy, before unleashing a burst of beams up at her. More shadows appeared around him. Maybe he would go close range next.
