Unluckily for Ayaka, the police officers seemed to just come fron the general direction where the girl's house was. Fortunately, she could veil her presence for a short amount of time, but just enough for her to pass through this contigency without raising suspicion. She wondered for a second if Karin would evade them or if she had taken another route altogether, or even if she'd come to help Mana go through this traumatic experience. She felt so frustrated at the misadventures of the girl... but there wasn't too much that could be done about that, except hoping that her partner could find a sliver of happiness somewhere.
As usual, or at least since Yuu had left, nobody was home, so she just did what she thought was the best; with a wet towel and utmost care, she cleaned the girl's dirty and teary face before drying her. Right after, she carried her to her bedroom, and after removing her accesories and and changing her into her usual pajamas; a short-sleeved light blue blouse and matching shortpants and tucked her right into her bed when she was done. Devolving to Kodamon, she returned to the living room with her previous clothes, wondering what she'd do to the dress that Mana had used today. It was new, pretty and a gift from Karin, but now was dirty and bloodstained... and would probably be a rather bad memory on the girl's mind. Placing it on a nearby table while she thought about it, she couldn't but wonder... what to do about this whole situation? How Mana would react when she found out that she'd try to keep her boyfriend away? They were unconsequential things, as Ayaka knew that she had done the right thing, but the thoughts about what her partner would think still occupied an important place in her mind.

And so, with much difficulties, Karin managed to shook off the police officers that would come to ask her stuffs... speaking of which, she wondered if she would be fined for littering the restaurant or something like that... but it's totally their fault, so she can't be at fault... not to mention, littering is a small crime compared to cheating! If she know the man's wife's cellphone number, she'd call her and tell her that her husband is cheating in the office... hehe, that would be so purrfect.
...What is she doing anyway, thinking sinister stuffs when she's actually at fault of breaking Mana with Charles? But even so, she doesn't care. It began to rain. The duo yet again laments how even the sky is mocking them with such downpour. And so, after checking back with Ayaka where Mana's house is, she knocked the door with the name plate 'Tsumura' at the gate.
"...Excuse me, sorry to intrude."

Ayaka, on her spot in the living room, heard a knock on the door. Dutifully (and fully expecting for it to be either Karin or Charles, and fully preparing herself for the latter case) she walked up the door and opened. She sighed with relief when a blonde girl and a holosuited digimon appeared in front of her.
"Please, come inside" the fairy said "You must be somewhat wet by the rain. I will give you some towels". Having said that, she guided her two friends into the house. Mana's house was a kind of lavish upper middle class, house, yet with the traditional set up. After the relatively big drawing room, an even bigger living room followed, and in it, Ayaka gestured to the two girls to sit down. Exiting the room, but returning soon after, handing two towels to them with one hand while setting on the table a tray which had extremely ornate red porcelain teapot and three equally ornate cups.
"It is lemon tea. Hopefully it will suit your tastes" she said while serving it delicately and offering it to each person "Miss Mana is still unconscious, but I think that we should be there when she wakes up. I am sure that she will have a lot of questions. What will you say to her about this? Are you going to go with the truth or...?".

Karin came in and put aside her shoes on the set place. Ayaka received them and brought them to some sort of drawing room and to even bigger living room soon after. She left them as she let them sit. As her new clothes are smelly, she took it off and handed it to Jeanne for safekeeping. Karin is currently down to spare light wear that is only a step higher than underwear that she brought beforehand because she think it won't be nice to wear dresses without it underneath. Too bad, as all of her clothes currently wet, she have nothing else to wear.
Karin sat on one of the chair while Jeanne took another spare plastic bag for her to put the dirty clothes in. She sighed. It's new clothes, meant for date... and it's ruined already, bravo. Jeanne took off her holosuit, returning to her Darcmon form. Her mood is ruined, too. Soon, Ayaka returned with some lemon tea and towel. Karin sighed and dried herself, muttering apologies because Ayaka have to see her in such attire.
"...I'll blatantly tell her the truth, really... that's final," Karin curtly replied after the took a sip of the tea. "I don't like to lie to Mana, and like I said, I'm not willing to let her selfdestruct because of this...."

Ayaka waved off her apologies, drinking some tea herself before Karin said her plan. She'd go with the truth. "I am fine with your decision, Karin-san" she simply said "I do not have to say that she will try to find him even given what had happened, right? No matter what she said, she still clings to Charles after Ryouta's rejection, even though I am unsure of her feelings towards him. Anyway, we should get going to her room. Miss Mana is going to be somewhat weirded out if she wakes up with nobody near her".
Having said that, stood up from her chair and began to walked out of the living into into a door-populated hallway until she stood in front of one that said 'Mana' with plain letters, opening it shortly afterwards.
Mana's room a quite plain, contrary to everybody may suspect. Even if it was a little big, it was a sparsely decorated. It was painted in a plain white, with a desk with a computer and a bookself in one wall and a rather big wardrove in the other. Her bed was a little too big for her, and a plushy was always present in it; a rather big, yet somewhat old and damaged toonish axolotl that the girl was now hugging tightly in her sleep. Her expression was an troubled one, twisting and turning on the bed, but she was keeping her unconscious state. However, two words escaped from her lips on a soft tone, barely above a whisper. "Ryo-kun... Why?".
Immediately, Ayaka made a gesture to Karin as if saying 'told you so'.

"I'll be counting on you to stop her until the time come, then," Karin pointed out. "I really don't want her to meet quick death or anything similar... heck, I'm not sure anymore if it's love or it's simply just guilt trip. If it's the latter, I'd slap her and tell her to quit out of it. If it's the former, I'll tell her to give up on it. If she insist, I'll also insist. That'll be my course of action."
Jeanne took two sips of the tea before glancing sideway at Ayaka and her tamer. She's unsure what to think about this, because high case it'll be Mana crying all over again. She was hysterical when she thought that her date is ruined, she's weak on pressures and seem peoples can affect her easily. Her determination is rather lacking when it come to standing her ground over pleasing peoples.
"...Let's," Jeanne agreed to Ayaka's proposal.
And then, when they came in, apparently, Mana is sleeping... no, sleeptalking. It was rather awkward because it's seem about Ryouta... Karin sighed and smiled. She just hoped that one day, Mana would get the best boyfriend for her, the one that would be serious with her and would stick with her forever and ever... and that it'll be a happy story.

Ayaka looked at her partner intently, for she knew that she could wake up in any moment from now on. She didn't know how the plush was called before the day she had met Ryouta, as she was born that very same day, but from that day own, the old toonish axolotl had been refered to as 'Ryo-kun'. What would the older boy think of it when he discovered it? One could only guess, but as the boy had seemingly no interest in her besides being her friend, why did she care? That was another question to be archived within the filed of her mind.
The girl continued to move on her sleep, hugging the plush more tightly at each passing second, as if clinging to it for protection. Yet, before the dream became outright frantic, she gave 'Ryo-kun' one last firm squeeze before yawning softly and extending her arms. Her eyes fluttered open as she began to sit on her bed. Besides her, there was Ayaka, her best friend and her best friend's partner, but she felt as if something was amiss. Then... she looked at Karin's clothes, and then to her own. Why she was wearing her pajamas? "Ww-hy I'm heere?" she asked with a bit of franticness "Wha-what happened? Where's Charles-kun?" she made a short pause before adding the question that had worried her the most "Is, i-is the officer alright?".

"...Good morning, sleepyhead. I wonder what should I think about the fact that you're referring your lil' salamander plushie as 'Ryo-kun'?" Karin smiled wryly, intent of teasing her clear on her face. "I won't ask what you're dreaming about, but basically... back to seriousness, how are you feeling, Mana?"
However, Karin's good natured smile quickly faded when she asked about Charles. Karin looked around for a place to sit... and found it. She quickly pulled Mana's computer desk's chair and sit on it, crossing her legs in rather unamused expression... no, it's expression of an older sister that will dictate where her sister life will goes to... although she's in no way that tyrant-like. She'll just ask her to break up with him, really.
"...Mana," Karin called out, her tone sounds really authoritative. "I'd suggest you to stop looking for him---no, more like, I'm telling you to not look for him. I know Charles is a good guy, but his spirits aren't. That's why, just stop before you got sucked too deep on the mud. You'll definitely choke, self destruct and mentally hurting yourself. Charles Ashmore, my verdict is that I don't accept him, not at all.
...Also, I guess it's clear by now, but... to be impaled like that, and especially so suddenly and shockingly like that... I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do about it. Not even Ayaka's spell can do the magic."

"Mornin'. I'm alright, I guess" Mana muttered as she woke up, blushing a little at Karin discovering the little nickname that her plush had, but the teasing faded the very same second that she realized what was happening.
Karin searched for the chair in her desk and quickly assumed a place in front of her. The girl was a little afraid of her sister's expression. She didn't know what was coming for her, but she knew that it wasn't good, whatever it'd be.
And when it came, she started to cry. At first, they only were sobs, but they devolved into a full-blown hysteric cries when she said her verdict. Her sister... didn't accept her boyfriend? She hadn't felt a comparable sadness in her life, as Karin's figure now had the relevance of... well, an older and caring sister.
Yet, when she told her that the police officer didn't walk the land of the living anymore, the tears were just unstopabble. She stood up from her bed and with the little strength she had, she collapsed on top of her sister's body, crying uncontrollably. She didn't want to think as of now; she only wanted to search for shelter in Karin's arms. She just wanted for... the pain to stop. "Why? Why, nee-chan? Why it has to hurt so much?".
She felt so defenseless without her brother here that she had used that term with Karin, maybe unconsciously, or maybe not.

She has expected it to come... all that crying, all that tears, she has expected it. Still, it does not make her feel better at all. if any, she felt more like a shat. She doesn't want to hurt her feeling, but it must be done. She's way too young to be together with a boy with malicious spirits. That's why, she won't let her dig her own grave by shooting her with harsh words. However, is it right? Is it the correct thing to do? She honestly have no idea, and honestly, she imagines herself in Mana's position.
"...I'm sorry, but that's just how it is. If you want to date him, do it when he's less psycho and more normal... also, to be someone that is not tied to his past to make you really uncomfortable. Not to mention, he made you cry twice... Stop before it's too late, really."
And then, to her surprise, Mana hugged her and ask her why it so hurts. Karin hugged back and stroke her head gently. Still, she's not sure whether to tell her it's fine or to be frank with her that nothing in this world is so kind. Karin stroked Mana's head still silently.
"..Sometimes, world just have to be unfair with us, Mana. That's sucks, but that's just how it is... All that I can say is, mentally, you're not ready for Charles Ashmore."

"Nee-chan... nee-chan" Mana repeated as she sobbed on Karin's arms. She only wanted to be safe; she only wanted to be happy and loved by someone. Why was that so wrong? Why that had to be so painful? While she was listening to Karin's words, her mind just wasn't in a state where she could give an opinion on them, much less to say what she would do or what she would not; as of now only three things occupied the majority of her thoughts. Karin's rejection of Charles, the latter nowfound status as a murderer and the pain she felt was now deep-seated in her heart caused by those two things.
Her grip on the girl became more tight as her sobs became more louder. She was completely devastated, yet... yet all of this was her fault, wasn't it? She... "Nee-chan" she uttered one more time "W-why th-he w-orld is so me-ean to m-e? I o-only want to be ha-appy and loved but I j-ust fi-ind pain wh-erever I go. I-Is m-my aff-ection w-worth s-s-so little th-that R-ryo-kun turned i-it d-down wh-without e-ven givi-ing me a ch-chance? I-it's w-orth so lit-ttle tha-that it c-a-an't h-hold Ch-Charle's s-s-spirits at b-ay? Wha-what I-I ha-ve do-done to get a-all th-these b-ad en-endings? I-I'mm a b-aad gi-rl, nee-chan?".

"...No, it's not like that, Mana..." Karin hugged her gently and stroke her head slowly. "...There's nothing that could be said as 'super power of love' in this world. Love is strong, but there are times where you have to face a reality that even love cannot feed the world. Love cannot simply change people back from bad to good like flipping your hand... it doesn't work like that... Also, about Ryouta... I don't understand either, but... Is it really him that rejected you? Is it really him that said all those words to you?"
Karin sighed when Mana keeps crying, but what had been done, done. Karin voiced her opinion on this matter.
"Is it really Ryouta? Is it really Ryouta and not his other self? I don't believe he's 100% Ryouta in this case. It might be him, but at the same time, might be not... Mana, all you can hope is to ask for an explanation, that's all what I can say to you, but as for Charles... please, please just don't, alright? Also, you're not a bad girl... you're not... I'm just sure that you'll get your happiness, even though it's not now...
Happiness, Mana, isn't instant... if it is instant, then this world would be too full of heaven-like things... and I think, heaven is overrated... but as much as it is overrated..."
Why would it always hit you like this? she wondered. Ryouta... what is he thinking?

Mana's hysterical sobs continued as she embraced her sister's frame. She knew that she was right. She had known that life wasn't a fairytale from long ago, but she had tried to do the impossible because she believed that her feelings were something special, only to crash into reality. Just into another dissapointment.
At Karin's words, however, she became both sad and angry. In her mind it was clear that he didn't like her 'that way', and she didn't need to risk another dissapointment to find out. She was just too hurt right now to think in the pain she'd feel if she tried. "Well, if he wasn't, why didn't he try to prove his other self wrong? He didn't comment on that at all, as if it wasn't anything else to be said!" she said as he sobs became even more frantic.
"And it's not just that, nee-chan. His other other self, he..." she trembled a bit before saying it "He imprisoned me during Ryouta-san's trial! I wasn't even the greatest threat of the group, but he did it almost as if it were for kicks and giggles! Almost as if he wanted to watch me languish in that thing! I don't need more forewarnings, nee-chan, and I don't think I could handle to be rejected one more time. I know you maybe can't relate, but... try to imagine the very same situation, but linked to your fear of being betrayed. Would you make an all-in when everything just seems to tell that you're going to regret the result? I just can't. I know that I'm a coward, but I can't".
She hadn't addressed the Charles matter yet. She didn't want to. She really really wanted to just go and search him, and try to fix their almost-ruined relationship. Yet, as she remembered the blood spattering in her direction once again, her face took a sickly shade of green. She tried to hold back the nausea, as she just felt too weak to ran towards the bathroom, but maybe that'd just prove futile.

"I don't know... I really don't know... but you know, right now I don't really care much about it... I... I might be afraid to get betrayed again, after knowing someone, after bonding with someone, suddenly I got betrayed... I'd feel very hurt about it, but I decided to not to care lately... Everyone have their reason, and unless they state that reason, I will not jump into conclusion. So many peoples extends their hand at me, new ones, old ones... they supported me, even though I walked alone in path that seem to be only consist of darkness and narrow path, it's like they're holding my hands, directing me to possible futures..."
A rare smile, a really rare smile gracing Karin's face. The smile that could be said as a really gentle smile that came from the bottom of her heart. It's contrast to her usual sarcastic smile... this smile is like the true smile that she owns years back before the betrayal.
"...All I'm saying is... you pushed me out of that cowardice and make me starting to accept more peoples in my life... Maybe you can't erase that betrayal thing at all, but.. you did painted something on the black canvas of my heart, you know? You made it brighter... All I'm trying to say, even if you felt you're like a coward... one day you'll get over it... human's nature can be changed if they wished for it... and to stay headstrong will bring you nothing. If you keep saying to yourself that you're coward, then a coward you'll be until the end."

Karin's words touched the very depths of Mana's heart. How she trusted in her and how she even admitted that she had been a positive influence in her life. She felt moved by those gestures, but... the fact that she could throw out her stomach's contents at any moment was still there, and as a matter of a fact, the nausea only became more and more unbearable with each passing second.
Finding strength from places she didn't know she had, she got out of Karin's embrace and ran through her bedroom towards the very next door; the bathroom, and holding her bangs the best she could, she barfed whatever she had eaten into the toilet. It was a disgusting feeling that just served her as a reminder that she just couldn't be with Charles. If the mere memory triggered this, what would trigger holding the very same hand that he had used to murder that officer? Better if she stopped thinking about that right now, though, as she felt another lurch in her stomach and kept barfing at the mere thought of that.
Ayaka walked out of the room in the bathoom's direction, having heard said room's door opening. She knew that Mana hadn't tried to escape or some other crazy action that she may have expected of her, but as she opened the door, what she saw definitely surprised her. Immediately, she went to help her.
