Monou was searching. Every morning her mother told her to take a picture of something particular, today it was an upside down cola can. Of course there were a few rules to this little game, Monou wasn't allowed to buy any items or bribe anyone into helping her. She had to get the picture all on her own.
Monou was currently walking down by Shibuya River, school had finished and she had a few hours left until she had to be home. She figured that will all of the rubbish and refuse within the river she would be able to find a somewhat recognisable cola can somewhere. As she walked she made sure to not get too close to the river, she didn't want to fall in after all.
As she walked, Monou watched the other people that walked past her, as well as the river. She enjoyed taking pictures of people and took the occasional snap when they consented. So far she had taken seven pictures, five of which were of people and the other two were of a stray cat she had come across on her way to school.
It wasn't long before Monou reached the bridge that ran over the river. She pouted somewhat, she didn't think she would be able to find a cola can anywhere other than the river. She stopped right in the middle of the bridge and looked over the side. She slid the rope connected to her camera around her neck and gazed into the sludge of the Shibuya River.
She stayed there for a few minutes before deciding it best to just leave it. There have only been a few times where she failed to get her daily picture and it annoyed her, but she would just have to deal with it.
She stood up properly and straightened out her jacket. She tugged at her hood to put it back into its proper place over her hair. She put on her best nyan face, (>ω<), before swishing the tail that hung from her jacket side to side. "Nyan, nyan."
Monou took another quick peek at the river before walking off. She saw an adorable couple standing at the edge of the bridge. She thought about asking to take a picture but they were talking rather loudly and she didn't think it polite to impose. Although she couldn't help but hear what they were talking about when she walked past.
"Look at this dump! I can't belive you brought me here for our anniversary, you have a lot to make up for mister."
"How was I supposed to know it was going to be like this. Everyone was saying how beautiful the river is!"
So, they were tourists.
"Look, I don't care anymore. Let's just go back to the hotel."
"I'm working on it, I need to get the directions up on my phone first..."
The couple were soon out of earshot and Monou took a quick glance back to see that they were still arguing. She continued to walk along side the river, matching her pace with its sluggish flow as she walked beside a floating wrapper. She was about to turn off and leave the river when she noticed someone near a trash can. They were throwing away a cola can! Monou adopted her 'Over Here!' face, ヾ(°∀°)ノ, and ran towards the stranger.
"Excuse me! Can I borrow that?" She asks, pointing to the cola can.
