It has just passed noon, and Callie was ready to spend the day having fun. And by that, it meant that she was hanging out with her pal Ashtar. It was a nice day too. Callie knew he would probably just do a lot of rolling down but she didn't mind. Actually, Ashtar might be her first digimon friend. In any case, she was in her Spadamon form, figuring he would be more comfortable around her looking like a digimon.
Meanwhile, Layer was walking away from the others, allowing their space. She trusted Ashtar well enough to keep Callie safe for a few hours. As to what Layer would do... she'll figure something out. At the very least, she has that voice in her head to talk to. She was currently in her Biyomon form and decided to just sit up in a tree for now.
"Okay, now that we're alone... I've been meaning to ask you... is there any reason why I can hear your voice?"
Well, I have an idea...

When Callie and Layer asked him if they can hang out, Ashtar took up the invitation immediately. He was actually looking forward to seeing the two again, especially Callie. He couldn’t really explain it, but he really want to be with and hang out with her. He also wanted to impress her too. When they found him wondering around the woods, he was in his armadillomon form. He was going to wait to digivolve for her when the time is right.
After messing around with her for a bit, he hid into the trees and pounced on top of her, giggling. He got off of her and rolled on his back, showing his purple stomach to her. “Heheh. Say, Callie. I have a new trick I really want to show you.”

The voice told Layer about her past, or at least what she remembered of it. A digimon trapped in some sealed off part of the digital world called the Hylden area. The voice, when she was alive, was barely alive for the bulk of her imprisonment. She wasn't strong, and the area mutated her and affected her mind. How she ended up dying, she had no idea, but the next thing she remembered was being a spirit for Layer.
Sure she couldn't see or feel anything, as Layer already knew, and the voice couldn't hear much of anything beyond Layer. But considering that she was fully conscience and not in pain, she considered it a plus, as well as being able to read Layer's mind. And whatever mutations she had when she was "alive", it caused her to be able to speak to Layer directly. She could even try to possess her...
"Wait... you can... possess me?"
I could, but I'd rather not if it means we remain in good standing with each other.
Callie giggled and enjoyed herself. She admired Ashtar's youthful energy. Sure, he was pretty much a kid, but he was still neat. He certainly was trying to impress her. After he got off her back from a pounce and rolled onto his back, Callie kneeled down beside him and rubbed his belly, giggling. Well, it seemed like this is what he was trying to get her to do.
He said he had some new trick he wanted to show her. Her curiosity was piqued, and she giggled. "A new trick? Like, more acrobatics? Or juggling? What's the trick you want to show me?" But just then, Callie turned away, looking off at some other part of the forest. She had felt something... and soon she could hear that there were others coming.
Meanwhile, Layer could also feel something, and noticed other coming from her perch in the tree, a different group of digimon from the ones Callie noticed. Layer decided to check this out... if this group was hostile, she would need to warn Callie.

Once he was on his back, Ashtar could feel Callie’s hands on his belly and rubbing it. He panted happily as he was enjoying it quite much. His leg was even shaking with delight. He remember his mom giving him a belly rub plenty of times, but felt a lot better coming from Callie. Then she was asking him about his new trick, really eager on seeing it. He smiled at her widely, looking into her eyes. It felt really good deep down inside him whenever she wanted to see his tricks. Just then, he noticed that she was looking away, seeming trouble. Ashtar looked concerned and rolled back over. “Um, is something wrong, Callie.” He asked her.

"Um... I kinda... feel something over in that direction..."
Standing up, she prepared for anything. It sounded like a lot of digimon, and didn't want to risk her life or Ashtar's in case these were enemies. She could hope everything would be fine...
And from the bushes came various rookie digimon. Seemed like a nice, but tense bunch. Leading them was a Patamon, and held by several digimon was a small platform, holding a glowing totem.
The Patamon spoke. "You, you must be the one destined to lead us to victory!"
"Lead... to victory?"
"The totem of our people, the Hikah-Ri, is reacting to you! It may be sudden but please, aid us in our upcoming battle!!!"
Meanwhile, Layer met up with a group of rookie digimon. They looked shady at first glance but seemed alright. They were lead by a Tsukaimon, and a Goblimon held totem, shining with dark light. Layer could feel its power... she was attuned to it.
"Yes, this is the one our totem is reacting to! This is the chosen one!"
"Wait... wait... what is all this about?"
I feel an energy... could this be a totem?
"Please, one of darkness, take the totem of our clan, the Yhom-mi, and lead us to victory! We will gladly reward you!"

Ashtar looked over curiously at Callie. He was wondering what she was feeling. Maybe it was some kind of enemy. He got next to her, tensing up. He was willing to protect Callie at all costs.
From the bushes, a group of digimon came over to Callie, holding some kind of totem. They seem to be friendly enough for Ashtar. He wasn't sure what was going on, but it seem that they know her and were calling her some kind of hero. He went over to Callie, grinning at her.
"Wow. I didn't know you were some kind of hero. Cool! You can count on me to help you out too." Ashtar said eagerly.

"H-hero? N-no, I'm n-not a hero... not y-yet... *gulp* I mean... er......"
Callie blushed heavily, embarrassed over all this, being referred to as some destined champion all of a sudden. The Patamon seemed understanding of her plight and walked over to her, but not before taking up the totem and presenting the item to her. "Please, aid us... we beg of you, Miss. Help justice be served!"
Well, she wanted to be a hero. And she couldn't just leave these digimon hanging. She took the totem, glowing alongside her own glowing body as her form shifted. She felt power being poured on top of what she knew as a Spadamon. And once all was done, she examined herself, now in the form of Shurimon. The group of digimon looked upon her in awe, causing Callie more embarrassment.
"H-hey... don't look at me like that. Um... but I'll help you guys. I mean... I-I am a hero right? Fighting for justice and all th-that? Wow... this form feels kinda weird. I feel so limber with this..."
Meanwhile, the Biyomon rubbed her chin with a wing, contemplating their offer. They were basically giving her a totem... what was a totem anyway? The voice in Layer's mind read her and answered her.
Yes... it's a totem. Sometimes the spirit of digimon turns into totems. Said totem can be used by spirit users like you... at least, that is what I've heard. This will make you stronger... and you want to aid your sister, right? I say go for it. I mean, these guys seem relatively harmless.
Layer nodded and walked to the Tsukaimon. "Alright, I'll help you guys out. Might as well see where this goes." She didn't say it, but if there was some dangerous digimon around it would behoove Layer to make sure Callie was safe. She took the totem into her hands, feeling a surge of dark power enter into her as she felt her body change. The dark light gave a comfortable cool feeling before it dissipated, revealing a Harpymon.
You're a harpymon now, Layer... well, at least your spirits may seem to be avian in nature, which is good... but I might be biased.

Ashtar looked really impressed that his good friend was a hero. He didn't even noticed she was nervous or embarrassed about it. Then the Patamon gave her the totem and she started to change shape into a Shurimon. Ashtar looked amazed like the others, happy that Callie digivolved to the next level and liking her a lot more.
"Wow, Callie. You look amazing!" Ashtar said excitingly. "I wonder what kind of bad guys you have to fight." He wondered.

"Th-thanks Ashtar... but, um... yeah, I also want to know... who am I supposed to fight?"
The Patamon quickly answered. "Our ancestors were once with another group. But they had split off from them. Dangerous trouble makers who threaten the safety of those in the forest! Our forefathers tried to talk with them but they refused! And so we've been warring all these years! They're dangerous, and we can't allow them to roam free without getting a taste of justice!"
"Uh... alright... well... let's go then... Sorry about all this Ashtar but I don't want to ignore digimon who need my help."
Meanwhile, Layer had a similar question for the group that approached her. "So... just who is it that you want me to take care of?"
The Tsukaimon swiftly explained, "Our ancestors were once with another group. But they had split off from them. Remorseless tyrants that want all to follow their will. Our forefathers tried to talk with them but they refused! And so we've been warring all these years! They're dangerous, and we can't allow others to fall under their thumb and lose their freedom!"
This sounds big... well, let's hurry with this[/i

Ashtar was glad that Callie was up to challenge to help these digimon and he gets to join her. He listened to their plight. From the way they made it out, this other tribe does seem to bad guys. I wouldn't be a bad thing if Callie taught them a listen. Ashtar looked at her.
"It's alright, Callie. I really would love to fight alongside side you." He said, wagging his tail.

And so, the two groups were ready to go. With their respective champions leading the way they were certain to win against the other. Callie was nervous about being the hero, but as a hero she had to do what she had to do for those who needed her help. And she felt better knowing that Ashtar was by her side. Meanwhile, Layer was more curious than anything. If she had to fight, she would fight. But her and the voice were a wee bit incredulous towards the whole ordeal.
The groups were nearing each other, and each one noticed it at some point. Their paces quickened, until they met. With Callie facing off against Layer. However, Layer would see Ashtar. And if that was Ashtar, then the ninja-esque digimon that lead the other group must be Callie. And then everything seemed to fall into place. Layer had to stifle in a chuckle.
Callie spoke, "So, are you the leader of the group at odds with the Hikah-Ri?"
"We need to talk about certain... terms and conditions involving your Hikah-Ri and the Yhom-Mi."
Callie gasped a little... but didn't say a word. She recognized Layer's voice! However, she merely nodded and went over with her so the two of them can have a chat by themselves.

Ashtar followed closely behind Callie as they went with the Hikah-Ri. He felt pounding right out of his chest, both from the battle that was coming up, and being this close to Callie. He was really going to try and impress her.
Then he could see another group of digimon coming their way. It must be the trouble making tribe that they were warned about. It's seem that a strong looking digimon was leading them. Ashtar got himself ready for a fight. Just then, the other champion spoke and felt that he recognized that voice.
"Hey! Isn't that..." He was just about to ask Callie, but it seem that recognized it too. Then the two champions went off to talk. The Armadillomon looked really confused. Did Layer really digivoled too?

The groups watched as the two champions go off to speak among themselves. Their "battle" didn't start off as they thought it would. Perhaps, though, there was still a chance for some fighting! This had to be settled somehow. And as they thought this, the groups began to stare each other down.
About a minute passes, and the two digimon returned, standing side by side.
"So, uh... we decided..."
"You guys should make up. Get back together and be understanding to each others needs."
"Yeah! You're basically brothers... well, kinda sort of. But you two certain fight! Get back together and, you know... be friends?"
"At the very least... I'm not fighting this Shurimon."
"And I don't want to fight this Harpinmon..."
"HARPYmon."

Ashtar waited the two tribes. They seem very tense as they waited for the two champions to return. He was feeling a bit uncomfortable as he watched them stare at each other. Then Callie and Layer came back, telling everyone to get along and that they won't fight each other. Ashtar felt relieved about that. He really didn't want to fight against Layer. He ran over to both of them.
"I really happy you won't fight each other. You have a really cool champion form too, Layer."

The Patamon looked at Ashtar, surprised. "So you know the Harpymon?"
"Yeah..." Layer interjected. "I'm Layer, and the Shurimon is my younger sister, Callie."
"Mmhmm! That's why we won't fight each other. I don't even want to spar against her, let along fight her."[/color]
The groups began to converse among themselves, making sense of what was going on. How is it that their champions happen to be sisters? Was this part of the prophecy? The Tsukaimon spoke out, "Our tribe was originally led by two brothers who split off from each other. And it was said that our champion would end our conflict."
"We had a similar saying." Said the Patamon. "Could this be what they meant?"
"Still, you guys are uptight with your 'order'! Forcing people to obey strict rules and looking down on them when they don't do it exactly how you say!"
"And you guys are a bunch of malcontent troublemakers! You use 'freedom' as an excuse to do whatever you want!"
The groups began to bicker with each other. Callie sighed. "Well, um... at least we're beginning the healing process, so to speak. I think we should let them vent a bit..."
