Pop Goes the Digitama. [Open!]

Wonderful. Scout had insisted they take another trip to the Digital World, but had run off shortly after they'd disembarked from the Trailmon that'd brought them here. A brief, mostly nonsensical explanation that he had business to take care of, and shouldn't be more than an hour, and he was off.
And so Takahiro was left walking around this very...strange city by himself. Well, besides the Digitama cradled in his arms. He's taken to carrying it ever since Scout made him do so on their last trip here, and he has to admit that it's making him more...anxious for the egg to open. Not just because it's heavy, either...
Shops, market stalls, and individuals going about their daily lives. In many ways, it was exactly like the human world. The locals, however, left no doubt that he was more-or-less in alien territory here. Digimon of all shapes and sizes walk around him, overwhelming him only slightly this time, but enough so that he gets up to take a walk, away from the plaza.
And, foolishly, down some side-streets.
Good job.

"You shouldn't go that way," a tiny voice said from behind Takahiro. Lopmon stood a little ways back down the alley behind the young teen. In this setting, someone sneaking up behind you should be intimidating, not adorable. Yet a tiny, tan and pink bunny with huge ears and three tiny little horns staring up at you with great big sweet, innocent eyes just physically could not be anything but adorable. He beckoned Takahiro towards him, his expression earnest, if a bit serious. Bunnydog had serious business. Or something. "A few grumpy Gazimon have a den down that way. They won't appreciate someone entering their territory. Are you lost?"

Takahiro almost drops his Digitama, surprised by the voice. He squints a little at the source of the sound, carefully transferring the egg to one arm so he can put his glasses on. A...bunny rabbit? ...Alright. He's seen weirder. He takes a few hesitant steps forwards, not really sure how much he should trust the word of this creature.
"Oh, uh. Hello. Gazimon? What's a Gazimon?" He makes sure to keep a little distance between them, drawing the egg closer to his chest, almost protectively, "I'm just, um. Wandering. Waiting for my brother to get back," Dammit, he should've asked for BlackAgumon to stay behind with him...

For his part, Lopmon made no move and stood placidly, big innocent eyes looking up at Takahiro with a mild expression. He seemed friendly, if a shade distant. "Gazimon are territorial, predatory mammal digimon. They might hurt you. Or the digitama. My name is Lopmon. It is good to meet you. If you are waiting for your brother to get back why are you wandering? How will you know when he is back?" He paused, twitching his head to one side and almost seeming to stare past the boy. Definitely seemingly to stare past the boy. What was he looking at? Just when the silence became awkward, Lopmon's ear's flared and he leaped diagonally towards an alley wall. His small, strong legs kicked off and his ears trailing behind him snapped towards his feet, propelling him past Takahiro's right side at shoulder level.
"Bunnyjitsu!" he shouted, twirling around and smacking the Gazimon that had been diving for the kid's neck twice in the snout with the palm-like tips of his ears. The cat-like digimon tumbled to the ground with a yelp, slinking back to join the two pairs of eyes glowing in the far shadows of the alley. He turned to usher the boy towards the mouth of the alley, only to discover another three Gazimon watching them from the corner. They'd closed in on the obviously helpless boy awfully quick.
"Oh bother," Lopmon said with a wheeze. "I don't think I can take them all little boy. But I will do my best to protect you."

"There's no need," Comes a calm, pleasant-sounding voice from the Digitama being clutched tightly to Takahiro's chest, "I can take it from here. I think it's past time I woke up, anyway,"
Takahiro almost drops the egg in surprise, scrambling to hold onto it. It slides out of his arms, however, floating in place, and then breaking open to reveal something small and gelatinous. There's barely a second to register this, as the white and green Digivice on the boy's belt starts making a weird screeching sound and begins to emit light, as does the entity. The gelatinous creature passes through a number of forms very quickly. A small round thing with large ears, a tiny humanoid figure with a huge head...
Finally it comes to rest on an almost-human figure with pointed ears, clad in green. The ends of a yellow scarf billow out behind him, as he tips his hat to Takahiro, floating just above the ground like the world's strangest fairy. The light fades from both the strange newcomer, and the Digivice.
"As much as I'd like to introduce myself, that'll have to wait, I think," He draws a long dagger from a scabbard on his hip, and holds it infront of his face, "Midnight Masquerade," He seems to 'blur' slightly, and then vanishes. One of the Gazimon is struck repeatedly in the blink of an eye by the new Digimon, who almost immediately appears infront of Takahiro in a defensive pose.
How heroic!

The Gazimon were scavengers. They'd been looking for an easy fight and some data to share around. They would have taken on a lone Lopmon to get at the kid and the digitama, but that? That was definitely a Champion. They weren't that hungry. After a brief standoff, the pack of Gazimon slunk away into the alleys to search for data elsewhere. Lopmon's ears, once held ready to strike, flopped down listlessly. The fight was over as quickly as it had started, leaving the poor young boy in the middle of some rapidly changed circumstances. Lopmon turned to study both the newly-born digimon and the boy, giving him an especially thorough second glance.
"Petermon is Champion level, and pretty rare. You must be pretty special for a digitama to hatch straight into him for you."

Takahiro isn't really sure what to stay, and stumbles over his words for a few moments. Fortunately, Petermon is there to help. "Takahiro Evans, yes?" He sweeps the hat off his head and gives a low bow, still floating in the air, "As has been stated, I am Petermon. I am to be your partner, if that is your wish," He replaces the hat.
"I, uh. Th-thank you for helping me," Takahiro gives a respectful bow, both to Lopmon, and to Petermon. His parents made sure manners were instilled in him from a young age, so why it never stuck with his brother is another mess entirely... "Champion, that's...the one above Rookie. That's what Kai said,"
"That's right,"
"That's...so why're you a higher level than...?"
"I just am. I don't know, yet. Perhaps I simply absorbed a lot of data in my previous life, assuming I had one. Or maybe because it was my wish to protect you from harm," Petermon's jaw doesn't seem to move when he speaks, although the bandage-like wrappings prevent his mouth from being seen, "regardless, my earlier statement stands,"
Takahiro tilts his head, "Your...earlier...oh! Well, y-yes. I'd like to be your partner, if that's alright," A trial run, at least. This guy could easily be a psycho. He turns back to Lopmon, "Thank you, again. I'm sorry, I was being rude there, ignoring you..."

Lopmon was looking on Petermon with something like a quiet reverence. He had wrapped his ears around his shoulders in something like a fuzzy monk's robe and shook his head humbly at Takahiro's apology. "Not necessary. You are a tamer, this is your new digimon partner. Very important relationship. I am just humble Lopmon." He looked up to Petermon, perhaps admiringly. "You are very tall." He looked around warily at the alley, and gestured towards the mouth of the alley with one tiny arm. "Maybe we should leave before more trouble finds you. No need to go looking for it."

"I think you're right," Petermon gestures at Takahiro. The boy becomes surrounded by a faint golden glow, and starts to slowly float upwards. He flails and yelps, before Petermon grabs his hand and helps guide him through the air, out of the alleyway and back onto the street. The glow fades, and Takahiro touches down gently.
"I...what was that?" Oh good, he's still overloaded. Awesome. Where the hell is Scout, anyway?
"I can fly. And we're connected now. So why wouldn't you be able to fly?"
"That is, uh. Hardly flawless logic, Petermon," Takahiro replies, waiting for Monk Lopmon to join them.

"In his case it is fairly flawless," Lopmon commented mildly, gliding through the air to land at their feet and tuck the ear back around his shoulder. "Petermon can share his ability to fly with those he has connected with. It makes sense that would include his tamer." He looked around, perhaps keeping an eye out for the boy's brother. As if he would know what to look like. A human walking without a younger brother, of course. "It was nice to meet you, Petermon. And Takahiro Evans."
"Where did you get the egg?"

Petermon finally sets foot on the ground, standing around five and a half feet in height. Not huge, but still taller than his tamer. His eyes dart around, taking in every detail of the world around him. That's to be expected though. Only five minutes ago, he was an egg...
"Oh, uh. The egg came out of my computer when I was asleep," Takahiro rubs the back of his neck, "With my Digivice,"
It sounds a little silly, when he says it like that. Saying that, neither Kai or Scout had thought it was too weird. Scout should not be used as a measure of normalcy, Takahiro. Idiot.
"Ah, there you are!"
The rough, slightly-higher-pitched-than-normal voice of Scout comes from a six and a half foot tall red armored form, as Agunimon rounds the corner, with BlackAgumon in tow. Lopmon is by far the smallest there. D'aww. BlackAgumon eyes Petermon, perhaps working out who he is as Lopmon had done.
"Whoa, who're your friends, Taka?"
"Oh. Um. Sorry. This is Lopmon, he was nice enough to offer me some help, and information. And this is, um. Petermon, my partner," He gestures to them each in turn.
Petermon sweeps his hat off his head again, and bows deeply to the two new arrivals, "BlackAgumon. And Scout...or do you prefer Agunimon? I've heard you both from inside my shell," He could hear things as an egg? Weird.
"Oh. Well, uh. Nice to meet you! Call me whatever makes you the happiest!"
Handshaking occurs. Of course it does. "Champion-Level, hm?" BlackAgumon snorts. Totally not insecure.

Lopmon's grreeting bow was more reserved, more quiet respect than Petermon's. His was definitely... flashier than the little bunny's. He studied Agunimon and BlackAgumon with much curiosity, introducing himself gravely to each. "I am Lopmon, it is good to meet you." he said to both. "I found your brother wandering while waiting. A pack of Gazimon wanted to eat him. Would have eaten me trying to get to him if Petermon had not hatched." He looked back and forth between Agunimon and Takahiro thoughtfully.
"Do you digivolve into a human or does he digivolve into a digimon?:
